9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room, location
Cons: Breakfast room was a bit small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kind staff who answered our many questions regarding directions, restaurant recommendations, and more. A beautiful hotel with exquisite rooms and comfortable beds!
Cons: A bit tricky to find while carrying heavy luggage. Ask for specific directions, from hotel, if you're walking. Otherwise take a water taxi from the Rialto vaporetto stop to the hotel because one side of the hotel is on a canal.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Traveling with my teen daughter, we booked the first floor (handicap equipped) room for a quick one night stay before leaving Italy; as a result of the room's location, it was very reasonably priced (ended up being right next to the front desk but quite honestly, once you got into the room, you'd never know). It was quiet and like a vault. The room and bathroom were spacious, comfortable, clean, well decorated. Front desk staff were very pleasant. The breakfast room and the breakfast itself was fabulous! It's a lovely hotel, and great location from which to walk to sights. Venice and this hotel was the only place we'd stayed longer on our 3 1/2 week European trip...
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff made every effort to make our stay welcoming, couldn’t fault room, location, staff or breakfast. We used the concierge service from the airport to hotel and return which made our visit totally stress free.

Hotel Al Codega - Venice - Building

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Al Codega in Venice (San Marco), you'll be within a 5-minute walk of St. Mark's Square and Grand Canal. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An excellent breakfast included in the room rate and a convenient location to the water taxis/buses and the sights we wanted to visit. Also, a large room, bathroom and good WIFI access.
Cons: Although a great location, and all of our preparations beforehand (watching videos etc.), it was still initially very difficult for us to locate the hotel. I am sure we went around in circles for about 45 mins! But once we did locate the hotel, we did not have any problems after that with finding it again.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and comfortable. Great staff, very helpful and professional. Delicious breakfast.
Cons: I couldn't always get the tv to work
9.5 Excellent
Pros: (Cathe) The breakfast was absolutely fantastic! I have never seen such a sumptuous feast to start the day. I especially loved the wonderful fresh squeezed juice combinations they had every morning (my favorite was the orange, carrot, lemon). Jumabelle (one of the morning breakfast attendants) brought me a basket of gluten-free breads each morning when she found out I couldn't eat gluten. The presentation of the different foods was elegantly done, the atmosphere was very congenial, and everyone of the staff was cheerful and helpful. A wonderfully lovely experience!
Cons: (Tom and Cathe) The ONLY complaint we had was the difficulty we had finding the hotel. It would be helpful if there could be some better signage. Our Google map sent us in circles, and the couple of people we asked did not know where it was. What a shame, because Al Codega is definitely a hidden gem!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff was super helpful and friendly. Charmingly decorated.
Cons: The bed could have been a little more comfortable. We had an early flight so received a bag breakfast. It was delicious but thought you should know that the airline wouldn’t let us take the yogurt on board because it was too large. Another passenger was allowed to take a different brand because it was smaller.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent. It was away from the touristy city center but a very close 30 minute walk to get there. The staff were extremely friendly taking time to properly welcome us and give us ideas for places to go in they city. The area has a family local vibe about it with a collection of tennis, soccer and basketball court. I would definitely come back.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The shower was enormous! It was so nice to fit me and my wife in a shower in Europe!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was beyond our expectations. The staff members were all incredibly friendly and helpful. Danielle gave us the warmest and kindest welcome - it is people like you who make new places and experiences memorable. Our room (and the hotel) was simply out of a fairytale gorgeous, super clean, beautiful view from our balcony, and only a 30 minute walk along the waterside to the main square (Piazza San Marco). We were sad to leave not because of Venice (which we loved) but mostly because we would miss our hotel.
Cons: Everything was perfect.

Pros: Hotel was located out of the city centre of Venice which is away from the noise, and the room is nice roomy. We arrive very late on the day and the staff assist us on how to get to the hotel.
Cons: The hotel is about 20 mins walk from St. Marco Square and 1 hr by ferry to Piazza Roma, therefore have to plan the time for travelling.

6.0 Good
Pros: It had large modern rooms in a quieter area of Venice with some lovely green space but still close enough to the tourist attractions of Venice.
Cons:
7.6 Good
Pros: The hotel was of a high modern standard. The rooms were well equipped although not large , were fine - although the views from the windows were not worth opening the shutters. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel is in a quite location around 15-20 minutes pleasant walk from St Marks Sq. A water bus stops just 2 mins walk from the hotel. (and goes to the Lido and all the Islands, as well as back to the Grand Canal in the other direction).
Cons: The hotel did not have much "Venice" character. The pigeons in the courtyard were a real nuisance. They even landed on the tables and (although the staff cleaned up very quickly ) droppings were regular on the outside furniture.
4.4 Okay
Pros: Location was good, rooms and bathrooms were good
Cons: The reception staff were grumpy
6.0 Good
Pros: The location of the hotel is fabulous, away from the craziness of the crowds and the nearby park is terrific, especially for kids.

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Nobody speaks one word of English. I had to pay 30 euro from train station to the hotel and 46 euro from the hotel to the airport since there was no other transportation possibly. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. It looks more like a farm house.

6.8 Good
Pros: Clean rooms, 30-40 min away from Venice by train.
Cons: The owner was not really friendly to us. The kitchen was closed so we couldn't even use the fridge (we didn't buy breakfast but it wasn't necessary - looked like no trust to guests), and the owner said that eating in room is prohibited... The wifi quality was really poor (glad we had LTE so it wasn't a real problem to plan the trip to Venice. There was no parking space (all the local people were parking on the street, when I parked on the opposite side of the street, I recieved the card "move the car immediately".
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Rina is friendly and accomadating she tried very hard to communicate with us and explain things. .transport to the property and to other parts of italy needs research so be prepared .i had a neice travelling with me who has asthma so cleanliness and fresh air was a must ....we did walk it from preganziol station to the B&B every day but if we had stayed a week I may of used taxi.the bus and train to us was all part of the experience dont let this put you off. hopefully as this part of italy becomes popular more restaurants and choice will be available soon.price is more then reasonable.if you like adventure and comfortable being out of your comfort zone then this is the place for you. I have to say it was a home away from home i certainly will be going back again...
Cons: One little thing a mirror in the bedroom and a power point for the kettle. table height would of been handy ....not having these did not take anything away from my experience

Pros: Great location, friendly staff, very accommodating.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Apartment was fantastic, location is very good.
Cons: To be clearly mentioned that there are apartments and hotel rooms, even if its written as a line but should be highlighted more clearly. I didn’t see anyone in the apartments building reception, you have to call reception for any request.

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was extremely comfortable and the staff was very helpful, especially Nicholas.
Cons: We were a little disappointed that we were asked to pay $20 each to go to the hotels jacuzzi-spa area. We thought for the price of the room it should have included that or if anything should only have charged a nominal fee, not 20 euro a person .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An absolutely beautiful palatial hotel in a brilliant location! The staff from the booking to arrival were so accommodating and friendly and the room was magnificent and made us feel like princesses. This was my third time in Venice and staying here made it the best experience ever! I cannot compliment or recommend this hotel enough! Grazie per Tutti!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I got to say that this hotel is one of the best hotels I stayed in. The staff were very welcoming from our entrance and during our whole stay. Hotel location was easy to get to using water taxi, as the hotel have an entrance into the water canal. Rooms were very stylish and comfortable beds, and nice room amenities. Staff gave us tips to tour Venice, and recommended restaurants to visit, and also made a reservation for us.
Cons: Can’t think of any.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel is in a prime location just near the Rialto, but off the tourist path so stays nice and quiet. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. We were given room 314 which was splendid with a claw foot bath! The bed was beyond comfortable and the room itself was an old converted attic so it had a unique feel to it! The Breakfast has a very big selection of foods, especially for Vegans and people who are Gluten Free. All in all it was an extremely comfortable hotel and if I had more time I would have definitely made it to the wellness spa and the gym, but most of our time was spent exploring Venice!
Cons: The room definitely needs a writing table and chair, I did find myself a little frustrated at not being able to sit at a desk. Sometimes the hot foods at breakfast were cold, maybe a lid or a container that keeps foods warm would work?

10.0 Excellent
Pros: My brother and I had the pleasure of staying at this lovely brand new hotel in Venice. It was the perfect choice for our first trip to Venice and we would definitely like to come back. Interiors are modern and chic, food is fresh and delicious, ambiance is peaceful and charming. Worth the visit. Thank you!
Cons: The only feedback I can give to improve service in the future would be if the rooms had irons and ironing boards in the closets.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fernando the bartender was a master mixologist!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very happy with the breakfast. Would definitely stay here again!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and modern. Good size room. Staff very helpful.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Really nice rooms, clean, useful and well decorated.
Cons: A little bit away from the center but it is still walking distance
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Probably best value property in Venice. All hotels are expensive on the island, so on a relative basis this is a good deal. The breakfast buffet is small, but high quality and covers all the basics. The front desk staff are polite and helpful. The hotel itself is new and the rooms reflect that. Our room was a junior suite and had two double beds. Decent enough space for a family of four. Closets were spacious and bathroom also had two sinks which is convenient. If I go to Venice again, then this is where I’d stay. Good location, new facilities, polite staff, and high quality breakfast buffet. Tip: Get a luggage porter from the train station to the hotel. Cost should be 5 euros per bag. Those bridges are killer with heavy luggage!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice, modern, clean room. Excellent WiFi. Hotel is about a 20 minute walk to Rialto bridge with many interesting areas to explore on the way. About 15 minutes from the train station. Staff let me do a no cost late check out, printed out my train tickets and held my bags while I did a final stroll

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything Elegance without pretension Genuine friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location
Cons: We would have liked an extra blanket in the room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The garden terrace was really nice to relax and have a drink
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The woman at the front desk was lovely and helpful. Her recommendations were great. The rooms were very spacious and very airy. The breakfast was good. The location was great for what we needed. The AC was great!
Cons: We took a junior suite since our daughter was with us. There were two drawers and two shelves in the entire place for all three of us to unpack into. We asked for an extra luggage rack so we could have one of us live out of our suitcase but there were none. The number of hangers were insignificant. We needed to ask twice to get more. The two gentlemen at the front desk were polite but fairly aloof and not overly welcoming.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location and charming stylish small hotel, beautiful terraces for e.g. yoga practice at the 4th floor and with access to water canal at ground floor. Nice surroundings.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was great, service was excellent, perfect location. We had the room with balcony perfect view.how ever when started raining 3 or 4 hours after we checked in, our room was flooded. The receptionist Stefanie was very nice and helpful to find another hotel near by to accommodate us, the hotel and room they found for us was not even close to the quality that we had paid for our stay. If our room had not been flooded it would had been a perfect vacation
9.1 Excellent
Pros: We were a mom and adult daughter traveling together. The staff were very helpful regarding directions to restaurants and attractions. The tide was high, so some water taxis weren't working and the staff helped us understand how to still get to where we wanted to go. Breakfast was a wonderful buffet in a lovely room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, very close to St. Marks Square so it was always easy to find. The staff was super helpful and very pleasant.
Cons: The room freshener gave me a headache. It was such a strong perfume that it made it difficult to be in the room. I asked for no scents too, but it didn't seem to help.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, very clean hotel and rooms, house staff very pleasant and helpful! I would definitely stay here again ! The terrace on the canal with light music and great service added stile to this wonderful Venetian hotel !
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect. It was everything we needed and the room was a good size.
Cons: The shower wasn’t the best.
9.3 Excellent

For example when we informed them that we had to leave early (4.30)the day of the check out they had prepared breakfast boxes for the whole family! I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you are a family, the rooms are spacious and very comfortable.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was perfect!
7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent location - close to the action but in a quiet part moments from the Strada Nova thoroughfare. Breakfast was excellent with very wide selection.

It offers colourful rooms with free WiFi and free private parking. Rooms at the Colors include a flat-screen TV, cooling fan and sink. The external bathroom is shared between 4 rooms and has a shower, and a communal washing machine is also available. Air conditioning can be requested, at extra fee. The B&B is 5 km from Venezia Mestre Train Station. You can reach both Venice and Venice Airport by bus.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff is caring and works hard to please. Family run. Restaurant is good too and the locals gather here to eat as well.
Cons: If I’m being really picky, I would have preferred an elevator and a private bathroom. Though the shared bathroom was really a good one, there is always something a bit less than ideal about having to dress to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night or to wait to use the toilet. However, this is a very clean, bright and nice bathroom, so no complaints there.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The fact that it was cleaned daily and had a much needed air con. The staff were super friendly and very helpful
Cons: Although out of their control, the other guests on the same floor had no respect for the quiet hours and constantly hogged the shared bathroom
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect! I kept in mind 2 hostels, one of them was in a city centre and another was COLORS, so after reading the reviews I decided to choose Colors and it was the right choice! Really enjoyed staying in this hostel! Super friendly workers, who answered in the details to my questions, showed me respectful attitude. It's very clean inside the room (I booked the room for 1 person) , so is in the public restroom. Cleaning was everyday. Very quiet outside. The distance to the Venice is not far at all (takes approx 10 minutes by buses № 5 or №19 to reach it). Lidl supermarket is close, several minutes walking by foot. Very close to the airport (bus №15). Btw, there is a tasty pizza just on the 1st floor of the hostel. And I was allowed to leave my baggage before having a departure for free. Will definitely recommend this hostel to others!
Cons: screaming kids in another rooms, but it wasn't the hostel's fault
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice owners, very nice breakfast. Good value overall. --And the location is very good--very close to Venice itself and the airport, and yet a quiet place on the edge of a residential suburb.
Cons: The hotel restaurant wasn't open. --It was Tuesday and they don't open on Tuesday. --I had heard good things about the restaurant here, and so, yes, this was a disappointment. (Mind you there are a few decent places nearby so it's not like this was some sort of disaster or anything.)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Food excellent, good location, 5 minutes walk from supermarket, bus station across the street, parking close (very important in Venice). Rooms very clean and confortable matresses good for families.
Cons: 1 bathroom on the floor non-private
7.5 Good
Pros: The lady who received us was incredible! Sweet and simple, we loved the way we were received and the restaurant downstairs may be the best restaurante i tired in Italy with a price-quality relation. They also let us leave our luggage during the day with check-out!
Cons: The single shared bathroom to a all floor was hard to adjust to so many people.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, clen room, close to Venice, (15min. €1,5) bus station opposite the street. Free parking. Very good restaurant.
Cons: Close to main road, noisy traffic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect, only a five minute bus ride from the airport. Such good value... with very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was amazing (and good value at €6), and set me up for what turned out to be a long and exhausting day ahead.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were fifth time. Very close to Venice, personel with very kind, pleasent and helpful owner. I think there is the best Pizza in the world!!! Congratulation! ( and grilled shrimps ;)) We'll come back of course :)
Cons: There are no any issues. Of course bathrooms could be inside the rooms but Colors is small family hotel.

5.8 Okay
Cons: The staff and their treatment is terrible. They deducted $520 from my Visa card on the same day of my check in without notifying me and they even stated in their booking page that they will not charge my card anything! They still haven’t returned my money because according to them it takes 20 days
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, nice room, fantastic roof-bar, and terrace.
Cons: Wifi is working terribly. I paid about euros 500/ per night and breakfast is not included...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel in the heart of Venice and particularly close to Piazza San Marco. Very modern facilities. Double room is a good size and we had a lovely view of the canal and could hear the gondoliers singing going past. Very clean rooms with good AC and shower/bathroom. Rooftop terrace is a lovely bonus at the end of a day of walking around the city. Very friendly staff. Great that there is a entrance to the hotel via the canal too.
Cons: Adding breakfast for €25 per person is very expensive.

Pros: great location, helpful staff, beautiful rooms, very comfortable bed
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location of the Hotel is superb. Only a few footsteps away from all the important places of interest. The beds were very comfortable. They have a nice Rooftop, where you can take a rest from the busy crowd.
Cons: It's a pity, that the Rooftop is not a real bar, where you can order drinks. It could be a goldmine, if they would invest more - it is not really negative, but it would be an absolute asset to the hotel
7.5 Good
Pros: Location was perfect
Cons: The RIP off 240 euros for a taxi from the airport to the end of the causeway. Then a short boat ride to the hotel. Complete robbery. I could have taken a private water taxi from the airport to the hotel for less than half the price. You should not be stealing money from your customers. I am done with booking.com. Used them for years, but no more
