Pros: Rural setting in small quiet village. Room was compact and above the bar but was not noisy. Excellent friendly host who prepared very enjoyable local pub food meal for dinner and breakfast. House wine was good and great value as was the food. Easy free parking 30m away.
Cons: Low beams in room
Pros: This was an excellent stop off point on our way to the ferry in Santander. As the only guests that evening we were given the best of attention. Highly recommended.
Pros: Location was fantastic if you are walkers and love the country side and coast, accommodation was basic but good, staff so friendly.
Cons: Room above the bar was so noisy until early morning, chose another room if offered this one!
Pros: Fantastic Pension. Very clean with very friendly staff.
Pros: Family run Pension . usual good Spanish food.
Cons: Breakfast at 9:30 is too late for travellers
When you stay at Faro de San Vicente in San Vicente de la Barquera, you'll be near the beach, within a 5-minute drive of Castillo del Rey and Playa de la Maza. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage.
Pros: position, staff and all the small actions that make a stay memorable were here. we would go a little out of our way to stay in this hotel if in the area again.
Cons: would have been nice to have a safe and fridge in room otherwise perfect
Pros: comfortable hotel - great location. Nice bar and restaurant. Staff friendly and helpful
Cons: Storage for mobility scooter would have been nice with access to power point. The garage was okay - but couldnt charge battery
Pros: Excellent location overlooking the estuary with views of the castle,/old town, causeway etc and only a short walk into town where there are plenty of bars, restaurants etc. Lovely, expansive terrace out front - great place to sit with a G & T! Initially we thought that the breakfast was too expensive so went elsewhere but for the last 2 days we partook and it was excellent and actually good value given the extent of the buffet. But if you just want a coffee & croissant then maybe still best to look elsewhere, or use the attached café. Considering the setting bar prices are also very reasonable. Rooms are spacious with great views on the front but I would avoid rooms on the back. Would be happy to stay there again.
Cons: Parking is a problem - none on site, street parking is difficult and the municipal car park across the road is expensive - we were on 2 motorcycles and managed to find a space on a wide section of pavement in view of our room. Fortunately, unlike the UK, this is generally accepted in Spain and mainland Europe provided you are not causing a blatant obstruction so all good if not entirely secure.
Pros: Location and helpful staff. Very good breakfast too.
Pros: Bed is comfy and perfect location to stay in San Vicente
Cons: We stay on 2nd floor room no. 209. Bathroom smell was awful. We've tried to leave ventilation fan working but it doesn't help.
Located in Val De San Vicente, Hotel Rincón de Antón is a 1-minute drive from Cueva El Rejo and 9 minutes from Ferreria de Cades. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: We arrived as a group of three mature bikers from the ferry at Santander. From the moment we arrived at this quiet hotel we could not have been made more welcome, although more Spanish lessons wouldn’t have gone a miss. The husband and wife team cooked us the menu of the day and we ate like kings, along with Vino Tinto and a couple of beers. After a comfortable nights sleep we were treated to a fresh buffet breakfast and were waved off to our next destination. This hotel is in a small village and the only place for drink and food, but you will not be disappointed and is a better ride from Santander than taking the A8 !!
Pros: The staff are fantastic, friendly and with great attitude towards kids. The hotel is nicely located in a quiet area, with easy access to the points of interests. The hotel has a nice lobby with sofas.
Cons: Our 3-person room was way too small as for a tipical room for 3 people. Moreover, as we got a room above the kitchen our comfort was additionally decreased. The bathroom is very basic, there is no even a rack for towels.
Pros: Great hosts, friendly atmosphere and wholesome food.
Pros: Clara and the kitchen were especially helpful with adapting the half board menu for the food allergies in our group
Cons: 8.30 to 10.30 was a little late for us to eat but its only a personal preference and not a problem
When you stay at Casa Albertino in Valdaliga, you'll be near the beach, within a 5-minute drive of Playa de La Rabia and Oyambre Beach.
Pros: Beautiful views from the balconies, very nice terrasse in the front. The host kindly let us use it, brought us an umbrella, and we were able to eat our own food there. Very convient and made us feel at ease right away. Simple but tasty breakfast. Charming decoration with freshly cut hydrangeas, natural wood throughout, traditional colorful ceramic.
Cons: Not recommended for traveling with babies or young children: no crib available, and the only way to have access to a fridge is through the host who is not always on site nor available and does everything on his own- reception, cleaning, administration... Limited and late breakfast window, strong pungent wine/vinegar smell in the lobby. The "deluxe" rooms are not worth the extra cost though: it is very hard to open the curtains and the slanted ceiling make you feel cramped.
Pros: Nice quiet place with a beautiful view to the mountains and valleys, easy to find and no problem with parking.
Cons: Breakfast could be little bit better
Pros: Helpful staff and beautiful location
Cons: Quite a long walk to the beach, but worth it.
Pros: Lovely small hotel / guesthouse in the hills - perfect for exploring the Cantabrian area. Room was great with stunning view. Friendly host who did his best to understand our poor attempts to speak Spanish.. Delicious breakfast on the terrace.
When you stay at Hotel Tinas de Pechón in Val De San Vicente, you'll be near the beach, within a 15-minute walk of Playa de Aramal and Playa de Amió. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Big room, bright, clean Good dinner
Cons: Small bed, aircondition did not work well Hard to communicate due to poor English aning staff
Pros: Evening meal was excellent. Secure parking in locked underground garage.
Cons: Said had a cafe on site but no food till 8pm
Pros: Wonderful, clean, neat hotel and restaurant! A gem in the north of Spain! We really lucked out with Tinas de Pechon!
Cons: Our travel plans didn't allow us time to see the beach, which we understand is marvelous too!
Pros: The property is a littlebit off the beaten track but it was a nice surprize. It is located in a small village within a green area and beaches nearby (Only beach with low tide though). We enjoyed the stay, clean hotel, the room has a small kitchenette, good size, parking around the hotel is free and was not an issues, the crews are friendly. We did not try the breakfast but it looked good with a full typical European spread. The hotel restaurant we did not try but the menu looks good and offers a global fair, not the typical Spanish options, nice for a change/break. Good hiking in the neighbourhood, there is a small convenience store across the road and there are a few restaurants within walking distance.
Cons: There is no pool, but that's not a major point.
Pros: Pechon is a small but lovely town just minutes from the Ocean and beaches. Hotel is located in the middle of the town and is one of the nicest places there. All buildings and interiors look very nice and clean. the place is calm. The appartment composed of 2 bedrooms was really comfortable, equipped with small kitchen and everythig you need for a comfortable stay.
Pros: We have stayed before and had no hesitation in booking again. The location is convenient from the Santander ferry. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff very helpful and friendly, and the restaurant is very good indeed. There is even secure parking under the hotel for motorcyclists like us. Recommended.
Cons: No complaints at all.
Pros: Spacious and new rooms at a quiet location. Very beautiful beach at walking distance. Picos de Europa is a 1 hour drive.
Cons: Minor detail: the bed was a bit small.

Pros: we were traveling the Camino de Santiago We had walked 30 kms thar day and we were exhausted . the lady who checked us in, greeted us, was just so kind and efficient; friendly etc. etc.
Cons: absolutely nothing. No complaints.
Pros: Central location, right in the heart of town. Minutes from the shops, harbour and historic sites.
Cons: On the weekend it’s quite noisy - but hey this is Spain.
Pros: The location is great - walking distance from the city center and just 5 min. drive to the beach.
Cons: The room is really small and so is the bed.
Pros: Greeted by very kind lady on reception who took us to our great rooms. Plenty of space in bedroom and bathroom. Good location, slept well.
Pros: The staff was excellent and incredibly flexible and attentive. The chocolate croissants at breakfast. A terrace was a nice surprise. The bed comfortable. Great location.
Cons: It didn’t feel very clean. It felt okay clean but not super clean, like wood floors not spotless like I expect. Older hotel with some of the floorboards felt like they would break when I walked on them. There was a pot of potpourri flowers that smelled strong to me. Shower was crazy small and had a weird contraption that I’ve never seen before.

Pros: The staff were very helpful and friendly at the hotel. The rooms were bright and airy and cleaned daily. The breakfast was an added bonus and well worth the money.
Pros: Perfect location just next to the surfing beach. Free parking.we could bring surfboards to the room. Spent only one night so can't evaluate more.
Cons: The room smelled of smoke.
Pros: Near the beach.
Cons: Very noisy HVAC equipment going all night long.
Pros: Walking distance to the beach, there are few shops/restaurants close to the hotel. Breakfast buffet was really good. Very nice inside patio to relax with your drink.
Cons: You have an option to pay for parking in front of the hotel. We decided not to pay as there are no security measures in the parking so it's the same as parking on the street.
Pros: All the meals we had at PDM were excellent, served with very fresh ingredients and by friendly staff. The location is great for the surfing and family beaches only 100 metres or so. The walk into the main town is about 20-30 minutes just over the linking bridge. On-site, paid for parking, takes the headache out of parking although the main surfing beach carpark seemed to have unlimited parking spaces.
Cons: We had a room that faced inwards towards the rear and the facing apartments that was a little noisy at night. There's also no air conditioning.

Pros: Very clean and everything to a high standard.
Pros: the hotel was amazing . we travelled on three motorcycles which we parked in their underground car park, the hotel is modern and spotlessly clean , breakfast was great , staff were amazing and very helpful, I will be staying here again when in the area
Cons: everything was perfect
Pros: Fantastic views from room. Very quiet. Comfortable beds.
Cons: Located at top of very steep hill so always took car into town - had no problem parking in October but might be more difficult in full season. Breakfast only adequate for money.
Pros: Superb views and lovely room, very helpful staff
Cons: Quite a walk up hill after dinner
Cons: Wifi not possible in rooms
Pros: Nice location, high above the town, great view from the room. The walk back up the hill to the hotel will keep you fit!
Pros: From our room, we enjoyed a magnificient view over the bay where one can just sit watching the tide coming in. The hotel itself ist located nicely outside of the town's hotspot, very calmly, yet only 5 minutes walk to the vibrant centre with its restaurants. The staff is friendly and tires its best even if you don't speak Spanish.
Cons: The breakfast is not the best you ever had, but it has fresh orange juice and local sweets and it is surely sufficient to start a nice day. Cheese, sausage, and jams can be improved.
When you stay at Royal III in Val De San Vicente, you'll be near the beach and within a 5-minute drive of Playa del Pedreru. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The pastries and sandwiches
Cons: The fact it was a coach stop. Not a hotel as advertised. No restaurant as such, only a cafeteria
Pros: The clerk who received us was very funny. Breakfast , which was included, was Ok.
Cons: There was a foul odor coming from farms around. This hotel would be a fair toad hotel but it is overpriced. There is nothing else nearby: no other hotel or restaurant or even a convenience store.
Pros: The cakes and pastries baked on site excellent. Fast food available all day from about six until about half ten at night . Convenient parking and great location for the motorcycle friendly roads of the Pecos
Cons: The cafe underneath the rooms is a coach stop with hundreds of people eighteen hours a day and the Spanish are very loud. The percentage of smokers is also high and this results in an unpleasant fug and at times its impossible to hold a conversation. All meals are eaten in the cafe and the restaurant was always closed. Difficult to communicate with only one person with any English
Pros: The views from this place were amazing. Almost in the middle of the country side.

Pros: A really lovely property in a great location. The posada sits in quiet countryside with fantastic sea views, yet the heart of the town is within easy reach. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room was tastefully decorated and furnished. We appreciated being able to make a cup of tea or coffee.
Cons: Nothing negative to report
Pros: Beautiful property with lovely views. Walkable to town but hilly. Lovely room with bathroom. Showers were hot and good pressure. All day coffee and tea.
Pros: Brilliant location if you don't mind a 15 minute walk into town or the hill on the way back, or alternatively a three minute drive. The views from the rooms are excellent and the hotel is really relaxing because of its relative isolation. Nice hearty breakfast of assorted bread, cakes, fruit, ham, cheese and plenty of tea coffee and juice. Very good value for money, one of the cheapest in San Vicente. Friendly staff despite the language barrier! Fantastically clean and really comfortable bed.
Cons: Room was a trifle small but the price reflected this.
Pros: Beautiful property on edge of town.
Cons: It was a bit farther of a walk than expected, but was easy and beautiful in the Spanish weather.
Pros: Everything, beds were really comfy, staff were fab, value for money excellent, fab terrace with table and chairs, all great. Location very good.
Cons: We liked everything. And would return.

Cons: The plumbing was very noisy. The food was over priced and the servings were small.
Cons: No WI fi in the room Breakfast was included but was not satisfactory at all
Pros: Very comfortable and convenient, just off the A8.
Cons: All very nice, just an hour from Santander ferry and close to the picos de europa mountains.
Pros: The location inside the small town of Pechon was quite good. We got a room facing the sea, with a very comfortable bed, and an bowl for our dog. The cleaning of the room was every day spot on.
Cons: The walls are pretty thin and it was possible to listen to whole conversations or TV shows in the next room without even trying. Also, the breakfast buffet seem a little bit too expensive for the region. It was not possible to bring our dog to the breakfast hall.
Pros: pet friendly hotel - haves been theatre 4 times and love it. Superb location
Pros: It gives access to secluded beaches with hardly anybody else there (beaches are about a 10 minutes walk and are amazing)
Cons: As the title says maybe we were just unlucky. The hotel was old so the room was small. The main issue was the noise which was from other clients. Whilst not the fault of the hotel (and maybe an injustice to give them this score) but the lack of sleep taints the experience
Pros: Very nice and remote location with a beautifull view to the beach. Very friendly staff. Great breakfest buffett.

Pros: Free on site parking; great view; breakfast includes; balcony.
Pros: The location was fabulous and the breakfast on the terrace with a view over the bay was a delight.
Cons: The bed was very firm meaning we didn't sleep well.

Cons: No complaints.
Pros: The view was exceptional and a short walk to town for all things needed.
