Cons: It was less convenient having a separate loo, but we expected this from previous reviewers comments. So no real problem for us.

Pros: Very friendly hosts. Good decor and very clean in a quiet location.
Pros: Very welcoming hosts. Bedroom, decor and setting very good. Breakfast with the hosts was a very pleasant experience.
Cons: Whilst the bedroom had an en-suite the toilet was outside the room in the hall.

Pros: Helpful owners
Pros: Break fast was fine, but evening meal (extra) was very good and value for money. Location was in small village not far from walks and a large lake. The hotel was run by a couple who were very friendly and hands on. There was a lovely heated swimming pool and the garden was a welcoming relaxing area. A real home from home.
Cons: A bit more fruit for breakfast.
Pros: Nice location, with nice walks near by. Very welcoming hosts who were able to arrange a lovely meal the night of our stay. Continental breakfast was excellent with option of a boiled egg.
Pros: nice heated pool, friendly staff (Tonnie & Sofie were very nice) and great beds!
Cons: More Champagne ;-)
Pros: Stayed here several times. Delightful hosts and nothing too much trouble.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
Pros: Great room, excellent facilities. Polite and friendly staff. Terrific place.
Pros: Wonderful couple who ran this, extremely helpful. Superb meals. Felt very much “at home”. Thank you
Cons: Everything was great
Pros: A lovely spot, very quiet. Very helpful hosts.
Cons: Slightly tricky stairs, very slippery. Pity there is no ground floor room, not easy to go upstairs with a dog. The bedroom is a bit small.

Pros: Lovely Breakfast included. Excellent meal in the restaurant. Beautiful surroundings with wonderful old stables. Room with its own turret and outside space.
Pros: Best meal. Dinner was fantastic
Cons: Bedside lighting was insufficient
Pros: Huge room with a bathroom bigger than most hotel rooms. Good dinner. Beautiful grounds. Jacuzzi on balcony.
Cons: Very expensive. Rooms need upgrading. Understaffed. Dreadful extension for restaurant destroys the beautiful facade of the building. Bizarre mixture of 19 century and 70’s furniture. Very poor breakfast with no choice. No cooked option available.
Pros: Nice spacious room and very wuiet
Cons: Bathroom needed a proper overhead shower
Pros: The location is beautiful.
Cons: Accommodation was not clean enough and two of us who shared the double bed got even beaten by fleas! Staff didn't speak much English. The reception and dining area stunk. Breakfast was basic and we got charged for requesting still water instead of orange juice. And we didn't even get the orange juice. Never again!
Pros: This was our second visit this year and did not disappoint. Rooms are delightful & immaculately clean. Staff are helpful, polite & charming. Dinner Menu is very limited but if you have dietary needs, I think advance warning would be well within their capabilities. Restaurant is a pleasure to visit, silver service well practiced & meals a delight to receive & consume! Breakfast is fresh, well served and completely enjoyable. Location is tranquil, amidst forest & fields. 100% will revisit the Chateau.
Cons: The only reason we rate the facilities a little lower is because there is no lift and I am an amputee, which makes navigating the beautifully restored stairs hard work. A one person/service lift for luggage would be useful for everyone but we understand the limitations of the restoration may make this impossible. Having said that, it's a beautiful place to stay or stop over, totally worth the effort.
Pros: Lovely spacious room, nice restaurant with excellent food
Cons: Very expensive, tea/coffee making facilities in room would have been nice, especially as small bottle of water from mini bar in room was 3 euros, staff were pleasant but not particularly attentive
8.8 Excellent (1,360 reviews)

Pros: Great location and comfortable room size
Pros: Welcomed pleasantly at reception and all requests re room were met. Very good ground floor room with good bathroom suitable for mobility issues; wonderful view of the lake just outside. We love staying here in Summer to make the most of it Good restaurant, really good choice at breakfast and great views. A little bit of luxury before heading back to UKj
Cons: Room a little noisy from reception as right next to it, but Ok when fire doors closed Surly, abrupt waitress at dinner whose manner was uncharacteristic of our previous experience
Pros: Great location and lovely views across the lake. Large room. Very clean and comfortable.
Pros: Excellent as always!
Pros: Excellent location for visiting Chemise De Dames. Also to Laon and Reims / Epernay. Fresh bread and pastries each day, hot food selection available too.
Cons: Drinks, Breakfast and dinner are very pricey.
Cons: Prices of drinks at the bar , you'd think al copone was using it for extortion
Pros: great breakfast - not "romantic" but extremely efficient which was what we wanted.
Cons: can't think!
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was of good size, bed comfortable, good bed linen and pillows. Lovely view of the lake from big windows and a small balcony. Tea and coffee making facilities were appreciated. Bath and shower with plenty of hot water. Quiet room - no noise from neighbours or outside. Easy secure parking. A great centre for walking the Via Francigena.
Cons: The restaurant was a disappointment. The starter was strangely very sweet, the steak tough, and dessert was very ordinary. The wine was ok but overpriced. As a result, we did not use the restaurant again over our stay.
Located in Martigny-Courpierre, this guesthouse is a 5-minute drive from Ailette Golf Club and 6 minutes from Lac de l'Ailette. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: It was great to stay in the yurt which was very comfortable. The restaurant was very good and the staff were very attentive. We would recommend the location which is very peaceful.
Pros: Stay in a Yurt, goats and deer in paddocks. Very nice staff. bear in mind - it's a yurt in a field, toilets and showrs in a separate block.
Pros: We’d never stayed in a yurt before, so didn’t have much to compare it to, but we really loved it! The furniture was beautiful and the beds comfortable. It was lovely and cosy. As the weather was so gloomy we could have done with another lamp, but that’s a small detail. It was such a shame it rained the whole time we were there, so we couldn’t sit outside and enjoy the setting, though it was nice to leave the yurt door open and watch the goats and deer from the inside! Restaurant and breakfast were absolutely fine.
Cons: Maybe the rocks as steps to the yurt weren’t particularly safe in the pouring rain, or the path to the bathroo but that wouldn’t have bothered us in normal weather!
Pros: The restaurant on site, good breakfast. Peaceful.
Pros: Great host and fantastic food. Yurt lovely and clean and had a great sleep.
Cons: Shower head wouldn’t stay up but plenty of hot water with good pressure and clean
Pros: Great host, lovely quiet atmosphere. Stunning wildlife and animals.
Pros: Staff were great. Good breakfast. Location suited our purposes. Lovely setting.
Cons: Wildlife scratching around under the floor at night. On site restaurant was closed for the season (in mid September). Only local place to eat was very nice but rather expensive.
Pros: Very unique experience with lamas, little horses and sheep running around our tent. Comfortable and cozy decorated tent. They cook a nice French menu at the restaurant. Really calming and relaxing experience. Very friendly owners and staff.
Cons: Not the right place if you are looking for luxury.
Pros: The food at the restaurant was delicious and the whole free range farm experience was lovely. The children really enjoyed being amongst the goats, horses and chickens. Fantastic traditional yurts with lovely warm, patterned bedding.
With a stay at Hôtel Les Chevaliers, you'll be centrally located in Laon, just a 3-minute walk from Notre-Dame de Laon and 7 minutes by foot from Musee de Laon. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Tastefully restored rooms in an old building, but discretely set back from the street and so difficult to find. Good location, short walk from the town's real splendour, the cathedral.
Cons: Parking on the public site nearby is limited to 2 hours max, as everywhere in the old town. There is unrestricted parking lower down only a short walk from the hotel, but I was very lucky to find a free space there. As in many old building there is no lift and my knees are not what they were, though the staff helped when I arrived and would undoubtedly have helped when I left if I had asked.
Pros: Friendly owner. Beautiful staircase, beams and historic features. Great location
Cons: Weird 70s shopfront entrance and other 70s elements
Pros: Very good central location for walking around the town. Lovely old building full of character. Our room was up in the attic with beams and brick infills. Comfortable room and bed. Fantastic views from nearby over the surrounding countryside. Friendly staff.
Cons: Winding staircase would be difficult for older guests. Have to be lucky to get free car parking overnight in nearby square. Don’t know where you would park if all full.
Cons: Reception is sometimes closed in the afternoon. It would be good to have been told this more clearly in advance. Otherwise a great stay.
Pros: Mathieu and Pierre do a marvelous job restoring this charming hotel. Everything was great! If you're travels ever bring you to lovely Laon, make sure you give Les Chevaliers a chance.
Cons: all was great
Pros: Hotel is a great idea minimise but it just needs some money on finishing and redecorating
Cons: Not very clean poor decorations
Pros: Friendly staff. Historic building and good break fast.
Pros: Laon is a medieval town on a hill, and les Chevaliers is definitely medieval - if slightly modernised here and there. The manager/receptionist could teach the Grand Hyatt Union Square a thing or two on hospitality. When he suggests a restautant, dont quibble.
Cons: Room was a bit grubby here and there. Refurb so recent the room numbers are on bits of post-it note, but the bed & shower are clean and comfy. Electric radiators are, though, absolutely minging. Didnt bother me one bit.
Pros: Very hospitable, we were offered a choice of room. Room comfortable and clean. Location superb, centre of medieval hill town of Laon, 2 mins walk from wonderful cathedral. Would recommend hotel and would stay here again.
Cons: Shower pressure poor.

Pros: We enjoy staying here when we are in the area.
Cons: No critical comments. The owner and the property always meet our expectations
Pros: Amazing property in a fabulous location.
Pros: Total comfort in faded grandeur. If you like chandeliers and silver service this is the right place. The lake in the grounds provides a lovely quick stroll. I appreciated drinks in the room and the use of a fridge.
Cons: Finding it was a little confusing as it was called Gites d'etang.
Pros: Our large bed was so comfortable with quality bedding. Curtains obliterated all light and bathroom was excellent. Garden was great to relax in.
Cons: Breakfast was basic french; coffee, bread and croissant and yogurt but was adequate.
Pros: Lots confortables
Cons: Mould in shower

Cons: Well it wasn’t glamorous but it did all expected. Clean good shower comfy bed
Pros: Bed was excellent
Cons: Room was a bit cold

Pros: Not too far from motorway, this hotel ticks all boxes for travellers.Standard room size with big comfy bed and powerful shower. There is a restaurant attached which is not inhouse but a seperate concern and it is good value but very busy.Super dog friendly with a large park on both sides of the road for walking the dogs.Priced very reasonably as well

The ibis Laon hotel is located 2.5 miles (4 km) from Notre Dame cathedral and is the ideal base for exploring this medieval city which was once the capital of France. The hotel is close to local attractions including the Ailette holiday park, the Chemin d es Dames famous for its battle in WW2 and the dragon's cave. Pros: Nice clean modern place.
Cons: Out of town location.
Pros: Great over night stay. Dog friendly.
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Location good. Laon medieval town beautiful
Cons: Had to change allotted room because freezing cold, not clean and filthy pillows underneath pillow case. Were then given a nicer double room.
Pros: Staff Location Food Comfortable large beds
Cons: Room 202 -- the windows do not block road noise.A tent on the M25 would have been quieter. You can feel the traffic vibration as well. I made the senior staff person aware of this the following morning and all credit to her she did not charge for the room and I did not ask for a reduction she just did it. The hotel was not busy so don't understand why we had a noisy and quite shabby room.We always stay at Laon the staff, food and location are perfect and with such excellent customer service we will continue to stop there on way home.
Pros: We always stay at this hotel, the coffee is absolutely awful, and leaves a powdered taste in your mouth, and there are not enough staff to cater for the amount of people using the hotel, which is very stressful for the staff.

Pros: A lovely hotel in a historic town, the location is fantastic surrounded by bars and restaurants but I would highly recommend the restaurant in the hotel. The food is fabulous and reasonably priced, local and fresh and the staff are all delightful.
Pros: Traditional hotel, good selection of food for breakfast and good food in the restaurant. The host was very helpful.
Cons: Although we liked the traditional aspect, this hotel is now rather shabby.
Pros: Centrally located. Private parking. Delicious food.
Cons: No facilities for making tea or coffee in room
Cons: Very tired hotel. Secure parking wasn’t secure. Dark. No lights in car park.
With a stay at Chambres Boufflet in Laon, you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Notre-Dame de Laon and Musee de Laon. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, multilingual staff, and luggage storage.
Pros: Great location. Good sized room. Friendly welcome tho needed to phone to say we had arrived to get let in as no one at reception
Cons: Fairly basic room. Lumpy pillows. Parking fortuitously fine for us as found parking in the street and left by 10:30 am. Otherwise parking would have been several minutes walk away.
Pros: We liked the location
Cons: It was too expensive. Compared to the standards of other hotels we have booked with booking. com, it was a bit eccentric and although this hotel has potential, but we left unsatisfied due to the chaotic and disorganised approach of the staff. The kids’ bed was not made until late night, payment was demanded in cash on our way back from dinner and despite the numerous requests about the WiFi we were never able to log in. On the other hand, they provided refrigerator storage for our Brie on request. The location is excellent and the room was large and airy.
Cons: Facilities in the room, Quality of the bed
Pros: Large room, basic and central however. Hotel was generally clean and nothing too much to complain about.
Cons: The staff were a little rude and we didn't get our12c back :) Also there was no shampoo in the room.
Pros: Central location in old Laon, and good value for money versus hotels in Laon.
Cons: I'd probably struggle with the stairs if I were 10 years old (in my 60s).
Pros: The staff and bedroom.
Cons: Property’s view not so good.
Pros: Great location in centre of Laon. Large room, very clean. Good value
Pros: The hotel is located to the central road of Laon. The room was very comfortable and spacious.
Cons: The building was too old but renovated. The room didn't have a soap or shampoo for a shower, and also there was a smell from the restaurants around...The staff wasn't the most friendly people I have ever met....We had a very long trip and we got 30 minutes late for the check in .As we didn't have to many data on our mobiles , we couldn't check our mail often. We contacted the owner and we told them that we ll be late and we ll arrive around midnight and it seemed that there wasn't a problem. After a wile they sent as a message telling us that they will charge us 10 e if we arrive after midnight. Since we arrived they told us that the payment has been done by cash and they didn't accept card. Since they got the money the shown as the room and then they disappeared. They didn't say about breakfast or anything else. Personally I don't recommend the place to leave. it's a nice city to spend a couple of hours only.

Cons: My non-smoking room smelled strongly of smoke. There was a loud group of friends also staying and I could hear them slam doors and talk loudly till 1.PM The hotel should oil their doors. SQUEEK
Pros: Easy to find and just right for an overnight stop.

Pros: Location, restaurant both very good
Pros: Ease of Location plus restaurant on site.
Cons: Room was a bit dated.
Pros: Basic but ok.
Cons: Very noisy with little or no soundproofing. Bedding was clean but room was not very clean. Towels grey but were originally white. No plug for bath.
Cons: First room we were offered the heating didn't work. It consisted of an electric fan heater on the wall. The second room was dark, not particularly clean, although the bed and sheets were ok. The whole place was tired and to be honest a bit squalid. Photos show some really dodgy looking electrical connections and fittings.
Pros: Convenience of location and general facilities.
Cons: The room had a heater but there appeared to be no way of making it work.
Pros: I did have a problem with the room but the manager dealt with it appropriately, apologised and was very understanding. He also spoke good English which was very helpful. Have been staying her for many years and will continue to do so. Excellent a la carte meal.
