Personnel was charming and very helpful The bed was too small and the mattress was too hard. Flushing the loo was a complicated affair which took 2 to 3 trials. To sum up the hotel was presented as a 4 star but deserved only 2.
Position of hotel - has views from along the road Food was apalling - evening meal partly overcooked partly undercooked/ Breakfast largely innedible/ room on noisy main road and very expensive for only adequate facility/
Peaceful , Comfortable, Friendly With pleanty of facilities in-room Bath / Shower No hand rail not easy to get out of bath/ shower
Initial presenation very good, food very good. Overall clenliness good. Location good for us as we needed to be near Petworth Ceiling over bath needed attention, looked very scappy. Also not good for the elderly with poor eyesight as there aremany small steps. Brochure states that tea/coffe available all day but we had to wait until 1600 hrs before the staff came on
staff were very helpful and friendly bedroom did not have on suite, food not that brilliant
Friendly staff & good food.Character of building& views over countryside.
Pleasant staff and resonable food Outside a looks a bit scruffy, my room (6) was overhanging the main London Rd and roadworks traffic lights were just across the from my room, however secondary double glassing ensured a peaceful night.
Afriendly homely hotel and my vegetarian meal was excellent, with a lovely outside dining area.
Waitress None - though food was not as good as I thought it might be.
friendly helpful staff the spa was a disappointment - all in need of refurbishment
Friendly Helpful Staff /Health Pool Facilities /Golf Course/Grounds/ Quality of Restaurant Food
The staff are wonderful. Hotel shabby and swimming pool small
Breakfasts, Outside Pool Room was too hot. Bar prices very unreasonable
relaxed atmosphere, fantastic food, chilled weekend location. would have loved to have a spa treatment but all booked up (we only booked hotel at last minute). noticed on visit to ool that gym closurehad been delayed - would have been useful to have u[dated the website or emailed an update prior to arrival.
clean and tidy, gym not bad, plenty of breakfast available be aware gym closing for refurbishment so check if needed!
Good friendly all round service. It took three trips to reception before I could get into my room!
the wide range of leisure facilities
the gardens, the golf course, the value for money (as it was on special offer) and a lovely buffet breakfast
Break fast and serving staff--very good
clean comfortable and excellent breakfast the location and lack of disabled parking spaces
There was a restaurant with a reasonable evening menu and a bar. Breakfast very good. Not enough TV chanels.
Tea/coffee making facilities clean towels Duvet cover not very good ie old/dirty, when having a shower the bathroom floor was a pool of water and dangerous had to mop up with towel, no sky tv + only 4 chanels.
The room was extremely comfortable and quiet. The staff were very polite and helpful. The bathroom was a little shabby and the towels were very thin.
i have stayed at this hotel before and was close to all amenities.
There was a lovely view of the countryside from the bedroom window and it was really peaceful. The bar and dining area were modern and there was a varied choice of good food on offer during breakfast.
Exellent breakfast,comfortable beds.
good breakfast first room offered was stuffy and damp, we requested a non -smoking room when booking, were given a new room that was a non smoking room , not sure why we were not offered this when checking in.
Friendly staff That mattress
Comfortable and surprisingly quite considering the location. Friendly staff. Excellent dining room with breakfast well organised.
The location is excellent being central to Arundel, and close to the castle. The rooms are cosy and comfortable. Great pub on the ground floor.
Convenient location. Efficient handling of group meal in the evening The rooms were not very warm. we had to ask for the heating to be turned on
Room to small, decor tired, some minor repairs needed
went to a wedding room and bathroom a bit cramped
The location was good. Bar man Michael efficient and friendly It was Easter and the restaurant service was poor. Very slow and seemed unable to cope with the number of guests. The bathroom was dirty on arrival, lots of long hair in the sink and on the floor. Again it would appear they were too busy to cope.
The staff were great.Hotel was clean and comfortable. In great location fot visiting the castle.
Convenient location. Room 4 was a single room with a double bed, and noisy air-conditioning unit outside the window.
FRiendly staff ! The car parking price - surely you could get passes for tyhe public car park for your guests! They do at Arundel House Hotel !! Also think your Chef should learn to poach eggs without cooking them in vinegar. Apparently he has to do that to stop them separationg !!
The friendliness and willingness to help and inform of the staff
Convenience for Arundel. Breakfast. A little dirty. Room small.
Friendly staff, lovely food! Easy to get to with good parking. Slightly noisy in the morning with kitchen staff working just below window but nothing to moan about.
First class breakfast Evening meal was poor quality
Friendliness of the staff, quality of the food Excessive noise of the Bedroom doors on closing
Facilities we used were good. Staff friendly Breakfast could have been better. Virtually no fresh fruit. Hot selection not very hot
The room was very clean and tidy and had a great decor.
Clean, well decorated with friendly and efficient staff.
The staff were wonderful and the food was absolutely fantastic.
A very clean and comfortable room, nice to see for once that hot water and plenty of when needed, comfortable bed and a modern flat screen TV!. Free Wi Fi in the bar area . Very comfortable stay.
It was central to were we wanted to be
Decent room, good value Meal, pleasant staff, good value
Friendly welcome and helpful staff, room was clean and comfortable. Food in restaurant was excellent.
Very enjoyable stay. Rooms are in a nicely converted stable yard 50 yards behind the pub. Good pub food.
Comfortable bed, friendly, helpful staff, excellent food A little pricey
Excellent , food, service, cleanliness and comfort. Pleasant staff would go again.
We booked for our 20th Wedding Anniversary as a last minute luxury break, largely based on the the reviews and were not disappointed - everything was fabulous - even the weather! The high points were definitely the friendly, efficient staff, the amazing food and the lovely room - we will definitely return.
High quality of fixtures, fittings and consumables in room Restaurant prices quite high
Excellent room and facilities. Good food. Very well looked after.
Outstanding food, excellent accomodation, and naturally friendly service. None
The owners remembered we had stayed before and greeted us accordingly. Rooms are pleasingly clean. Room could do with a coat of paint and attention to the sqeaky bed is needed. However we did not tell the managers,as we didnt want to upset them! The rooms could be on the verge of sliding into the needing attention category and not the award winners of 2006. Please dont let this decent place decline.
The Old Railway Station is a beautiful and charming venue. The staff are wonderful and the whole place is exceptionally special. Nothing its wonderful!
Oiginality, privacy and general lack of hassle - excellent breakfast - food and service There are cheaper places to eat than those recommended in hotel literature!
This place is tough to beat for a nostalgic, memorable, romantic and unique experience, especially for anyone who has ever had an overnight stay on a train. Also, the Badger pub next door is excellent. It was below freezing at night during our stay and an antique Pullman railroad car must be difficult to heat effectively, but I still chalk this up as part of the experience.
The whole set up is " elegant".
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was everything and more than we expected. The staff were delightful and faciities perfect (excepting the lack of a shaver point in our bathroom + the tap was wobbly). We loved our stay and would love to make another visit. I will and have already recommended it to others. Thank you! No!
Friendly welcoming staff, exellent breakfast.Everything you could need in the room. Can't think of any really.
The relative seclusion and quiet despite being near a busy road. A step into a peaceful yesterworld. The welcome. Relatively expensive for a 'B&B'. No evening foo availability but a good food pub two minutes walk.
fun to experience. Excellent breakfast.very good bathroom, good shower, bed mattress not so good .Overall very comfortable, would certainly recommend to friends. lumpy mattress
Great ambience. Fantastic building. Very helpful and enthusiatic staff. Nothing
Original, all decor in style of Empire period, very efficient and pleasant staff
Excellent location..staff were lovely and very friendly..highly recommended! We loved it!breakfast was nice and hot..brilliant!!!! Wish we could have stayed longer..THANKS So much!
Noise from basement disco No lift
location in the middle of town on site parking
very friendly and comfortable, nice area. no
I like the location of the hotel and thought the real fire in the lounges was a real treat loved them. Our room was very cold as the heating wasn't on and I think it could do with a bit of updating but other than that the room was a lovely size and also the bathroom too.
Lovely room and pleasant staff Nothing I didnt like but the food was only average
Great situation, right beside Arundel castle / main street Bathroom poorly decorated / cheap fittings. Would expect better for 90 pounds / night
I thought it was very relaxing,I loved the decor, and sitting in front of the fire.I loved bieng in the centre of Arundel, didn`t have to walk far for anything.Loved it.
It was near the castle that we wanted to visit not enough staff,
The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The hotel was right on Arundel high street which was great for us as we don't have a car and it was easy to access all the shops, restuarants and cafe's. The castle is a short wlak too although closed till April 20011!. For a short break it was great.
Well run & maintained a credit to the staff & owners.
The suite was spacious and tastefully decorated. The four poster bed was particularly solid and very comfortable to sleep in
Fabulous location attentive but unobtrusive staff Food in the restaurant not up to expectation and very expensive
We had a lovely two night stay. The welcome was very warm and friendly. Lovely room-super comfy bed and pillows. Kept extremely clean, to a very high specification in every respect. Very good breakfasts cooked by a delightful lady who was very friendly and nice. The whole set up was delightful.
Relaxed friendly atmosphere. Clean and tidy with lovely garden Door to room did not lock. Shower cubicle very small
Fresh and clean and attractive No comfortable chairs
friendly welcoming staff and lovely garden area, also the breakfast was exellant.
The B&B manager was wonderful, made everything perfect for us and we couldnt thank him enough. What a splendid host, thank you so much No
We were very impressed with the friendlyness of the staff the cleanliness of the room. The cup of coffee on our arrival, and everything really.
Privacy; excellent facilities including extras such as refreshments in the room.Good dog walking close to hand. No
Very relaxed friendly atmosphere with a good standard of room and facilities. The b and b is ideally situated for visits to Arundel, Goodwood and Chichester.
We were very well looked after by the family running the B & B
It was self contained,so allowed for privacy.Ensuite bathroom was spacious and well equipped. Hosts dogs allowed in dining room
beautiful hotel lovely room good food and really nice people
