Absolutely stunning castle... the views are second to none looking out over the valleys. We ordered a gourmet meal the night we arrived and it was simply magical. Our table was prepared in the beautiful dining room in candlelight and the service was first class. We ordered breakfast but this castle has it right. There is a full kitchen where you are able to self cater. You can have the best of both worlds here. We will definately visit again and stay longer.. the atmosphere is so relaxing I could have sat in the gardens all day.
the castle is a magical place that you only normally dream of, the grounds and the views are second to none, you really feel like a princess in her own castle, best stay ever it wasn´t long enough
This is the most romantic place we have even visited. The ambiance is extraordinary and Francine and Cathrine made us feel so welcome. In the evening we had a romantic dinner for two in front of the fireplace with Fabian as our private chef and waiter. (We had to book this in advance, as there is no restaurant) The food and service was first class. We will be back and next time we will book a suite.
The staff was very helpful and the food was good. They spoke english this was a great help as we do not speak french Copuld have used a comfortable chair as we stayed for six nights
Pleasant enough, and quiet, location, with good parking. The room was scruffy- somebody had punched 2 small holes in the bathroom door, and staff were not concerned! One of the 2 lamps had no bulb. The air-conditioning was not working- probably set to come on only in most extreme conditions- so we slept uncomfortably on a hot night. Breakfast very expensive for what it was, to UK tastes anyway.
Situated at the outskirts of a relatively attractive modern retailing estate close to the interesting and historic old town of Metz, this hotel (more like a motel) feels well established in a quiet area. A private marked out parking area divides the reception/restaurant building from the bedroom block . It is compact but convenient, and well maintained. The reception staff were efficient, the room and attached bathroom simple but clean and fresh smelling, the breakfast adequate by continental standards, if rather expensive for what it consists of, at least by UK standards). There are about half a dozen restaurants in the estate (eg pizzerias, burger joints, etc) so you have dinner out, as we did. Very convenient stop-over on long journey It is a motel type of configuration, so if the weather were to be wet or cold, it would be less attractive and convenient. For summer use however it was excelent.
Wifi Very dirty room - sticky floor, mouldy tea bag in kettle and no replacement available, third bed unuseable so additional room had to be requested and paid for, dirty and smelly toilet, poor range of evening meal offered with surly service, totally ignored for 15 minutes by receptionist who was clearing tables.
Difficult to find - in a commercial zone split into several areas and hidden behind a restaurant, badly signposted compared to other hotels in the area
Basic, straightforward. Very small room and shower on the hallway but clean. Good price/quality relation. Bad environment, a lot of noise, suspicious acting around the cars and on the hotel parking... Just not a secure feeling.
quietness, easy to find
price no kettle in room
Clean room with very convinient price and fast service with easy excess to hotel! Hotel should have better and more visable label. Adress of hotel is without house number and it was dificult to find!
Efficient checking in, convenient parking We (family of 6) were assigned smoking rooms and not told beforehand that the non-smoking rooms were taken.
staff, location, value for money, parking
It served the purpose it was designed for. As an overnight stop it was all we could ask for.
We feel that this particular hotel was not up to the standard we are used to from other Mr Bed hotels. If this had been our first use of Mr Bed we would not book others in the chain. However we have stayed at 4 other Mr Bed hotels and been quite pleased with the standard offered there. It appears that this particular hotel is a bit run down and in need of renovation. This is not a criticism of the staff but of the building.
Excellent location for the sport of model flying. Good eating facilities at the hotel and across the square if you wanted a change. hotel clean and wecome, rooms hot. It was very hot and humid when we stayed and there was no air-con in any room.
The food was good I requested a room suitable for the disabled and was given a room with a bath which was totally unacceptable tor my wife. They did offer to change the room to one with a shower but was required to pay extra, which I felt was totally unacceptable. They were adamant that I had to pay the additional charge!!!
The efficiency and convenience Only complaint would prefer the use of a menu in English to help with the choice of an evening meal.
Quiet, no traffic Bed very hard, plastic cover on mattress makes the body sweat. would like a bath.
The adjoining restaurant offered excellent service and good food. We were surprised about the 'surcharge' for the room and the breakfast which was not pre-ordered through the agency. We thought it would be better value through the internet but found that direct booking would have been 'better value'. Apart from that we were pleased.
Although the staff did not speak English, they were very friendly and we managed to communicate despite the language barrier.
Room was clean and sheets and bath towels smelled beautiful. Morning staff polite and pleasant. Location (other than noisy road) was lovely. Pleasant atmosphere in coffee bar below our room in the morning. Disapointed that there were no staff available on our arrival though key had been left for us. Unaware that the hotel was on a busy rural road having booked it for its 'quiet' location. Decoration was severely run down and electrics were in a poor condition.
