Good service and value for money Food was excellent
Particularily nice & friendly staff
Evening meal was great value and very nice. You really could not knock it. Breakfast was awful. It was a buffet and generally nasty, not what I was expecting after the lovely evening meal! Bathroom smelt of mould too. Apart from that the place was clean and above average..( I wouldnt want to stay more than one night!)
Well appointed room and good value for money TV did not work very well - poor reception/sound
Very good value for money.
Decor was brand new and service very friendly.
The staff were great, the breakfast left a little to be desired in that there was not the obvious option of fried eggs, and the tea in the pot was only enough for one cup, and it was only just warm!. See above.
good location clean and comfortable staff very helpful and food in the restaurant was very good
service, very lively atmosfhere in bar and restaurant, quiet in the rooms location, a bit busy on a round square
Friendly and pleasant staff, clean and modern hotel room with lovely bathroom and excellent restaraunt and bar. Our hotel room was very warm (even though it was cold and wet outside), perhaps the rooms could benefit from air conditioning units.
We chose this hotel as a pet friendly policy is in place. No extra charge for pets either! a real bonus. Friendly staff and a full Welsh breakfast to start the day.
Staff, room and facilities were good. The heating made clanking and dripping noises when it came on.
The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful - they were excellent. Having stayed in hotels throughout the world, the staff here were the best! If service is valued above the condition of the hotel, it is recommended. The hotel is shabby, tired and well past its sell by date. The entrance had been damaged by storm or high vehicle contact, the rooms needed complete restoration, the lift is on its last legs - come on, Best Western, provide the staff with the hotel they deserve. If service is valued above the condition of the hotel, it is recommended.
comfortable room Room too hot.
just relax and had a walk on the beach
a very pleasant stay, staff were very friendly and helpful, would stay again.
Staff were brilliant nothing was too much trouble, even allowed us to check in early so we could get to the rugby on time! Nothing
wifi good/ check in/check out quick. Relaxing place to unwind after a day on the road Restaurant service very slow but good quality food.
The food was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. Great service. Poor TV picture in room
The leisure facilities.Covenient location. Overall service given.
Food could be better
Overall this hotal is execellent for the price. Staff are friendly and helpfull. No bedside lights in room. Had to switch lights off from the enterance door
the proximity of facilities such as Bridgend shopping centre and reasonably priced restaurants and public houses. The cooked breakfast! Under done and very greasy. As a lover of the cooked breakfast I had to find alternatives on the menu for the second day.
Please refer to the customer questionaire, completed & left with the Hotel
Good wifi - $5 for 24 hours
Size of room and heating - esp in adverse weather Poorly lit at front entrance at night and no gritting in car park
Overall a very pleasant hotel very well priced No critism at all
The bed was very comfortable Noise from deliveries whish woke me at 0500 and the lack of a comfortable chair
Overall the hotel is good value The room on this occasion was far too hot and the WiFi did not work in the room but did in the bar area so no real problem for me.
The shower in the bathroom was very good Room was extrememly cold on arrival. Bed uncomfortable, rolled together when sleeping. Needed extra bedding and pillows. Luckily they were available in the room. Disappointed that you could not drink the water from the bathroom sink. Had to purchase water to make a hot drink. Remote did not work due to no batteries in it. But receptionist gladly provided some once we mentioned what had happened.
Was an okay hotel
the bed was extremely uncomfortable, very saggy.
The bed was large and clean The room had a bad smell, the receptionist who was a gentleman from South Africa was very rude to my cousin she was the one who stayed there and I was the one who paid.
Location of hotel, close to motorway The shower in one of our rooms didn't work, the the cleanliness of the carpet left alot to be desired.
convenient, clean and comfortable no where to eat breakfast except room. Found the directions to hotel unclear - thout it better to state in text actually in services - we are not used to staying in these hotels and went around the place first as it says hotel in Bridgend
Helpfull staff, Generaly good level of cleanliness. Lack of car park security. Lights not working, no cameras. Car next to ours was broken into. (not the first according to police.)
Very friendly staff and good sized room for price more milk cartons in room
Room clean and comfortable, Pub within walking distance for evening meal.
it was comfortable,the room was kept clean and the shower good;the bed was comfortable;
Excellent facilities, better than a 3 - 4 * hotel. The owners were very friendly with excellent customer care. A great & huge breakfast Only 1 bad thing, it is next to a road and a railway line, but that would stop me from staying there again.
Very pleasant owner, cleanliness, facilities in the room, excellent breakfast (but not the croissant). Would have preferred a shower and for the breakfast to have been included in the price
Excellent location; very hospitable owners; very comfortable, well equipped room; excellent breakfast
Wonderful service, lovely breakfast, very accommodating and friendly, very clean - exceptional None
Rooms were excellent & service couldn't be faulted.
Every thing was good N/A
The hospitality, comfort, the Welsh Breakfast, space and ease of parking. Also the help and assistance regarding exploring the local area. Nothing
Very friendly and helpful staff, good Continental Breakfast. Internet Access Code in Bedroom did not work.
very friendly and informative owner who was on hand all the time.He was very helpful with regards to my internet problem Lovely quiet room which was very well equipped. Excellent choice for breakfast
Very nice facilities Helpful proprietor None
The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Bed was comfy and the staff very helpful especially at 6.30am when we were having breakfast
Clean, nice staff , good breakfasts, family friendly, Entertainment/shopping centre within walking distance. Easily accessible and central to visit Swansea or Cardiff. Little bit of early morning traffic noise but not too bad - Sunday or public holiday ok. (expected due to location)
good location easy access from motorway none
Excellent helpful staff
Clean, helpful staff Bed too soft, was like sleeping on a water bed, I had to get up at 2.30am and sleep in one of the child beds
The standard of service which was first class. Staff top line and so helpful and chearful. Price of the breakfast
I liked the fact that is was very quiet once in the rooms. Clean and comfortable. I enjoyed everything. I tried to find a Premier in Swansea on the Internet but did not see one and then, when I traveled through Swansea I noticed signs for one. I wished I could have stayed at a Premier Inn there too.
Convenience for shopping and the Harvester next door is an added bonus
Staff were extremely helpful and the rooms were very nice the food was also very good, would definately use again.
The staff was courteous, the breakfast was good. The room was clean, warm & the lighting good over the mirrors. The bed was comfortable. There is a good night guarantee, and a single woman travelling alone policy-single women are not placed on the main floor. Wifi is available for a cost and there is only a shower. The hotel was expensive for the area, a much cheaper price was available than what I paid. There was no luggage rack in the room. My main concern was that there was no phone in the room, on questioning staff, they told me that they do not put phones in because everyone has a mobile. I was an overseas traveller and did not have a mobile, my family was unable to contact me and I was concerned as a solo female in a room that I would not be able to contact reception if I required assistance. For this reason alone I would not stay at this hotel again, however the hotel is good in other ways. Another thing, I transferred to the Premier Inn down the road in Pencoed and they had a different wi fi provider.
Hotel was set in beautiful surroundings and the staff wereso helpful.
Lovely location, everything we needed, friendly landlord who got up extra early to give us breakfast on Sunday before our cycling event. None
Great position away from the crowds but close to facilities. Could be more soundproofed from rooms next door.
The proprietor was very helpful and friendly and there was a good overall atmosphere. The breakfasts were excellent.
Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room and very good food. No
everything was fine no
Friendly staff, very clean, good breakfast Slight water stains in the bathroom walls, no biscuits with the tea/coffee!
The owner, Howard was pleasant and attentive. The hotel was spotless, the furnishings were modern and comfortable and the locationwas delightful/ One of the best places I have ever stayed and the price was ok.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were very accomodating. Lovely breakfast. They got the date wrong, they were expecting us on the 25th but we booked for the 24th. It is too far away from anything, nothing is walking distance. Didn't realise it was unlicenced, we went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and with no bar there and pubs to far away it was a bit of a let down.
The staff were very friendly The shower was very poor, and the heating in the bedroom came on very late. We had to ask to have the heating switched on.
Rooms very clean, comfortable. And a lot of space. Bathroom & shower excellent. Food and atmosphere in restaurant and bars very enjoyable. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Could use more parking space
The food choce and beer choice Timing off breakfast started too late most people businesswise are on the move well before 8am
everything was perfect staff, room and food 100%
We were a party of eight golfers, of mature age. Without exception we were pleased with the rooms, location, being only one mile from Royal Portcawl G.C. It enabled us to catch up on old times, as we came from all over England and Wales. We sadly only stayed one night, before the match, and we spent the whole evening in the bar before dinner and later in the dining room, savouring excellent fare and very attentive service. We vowed that when we return, as we surely shall, that we would stay two nights as we were looked after so well. Congratulations Rose and Crown ! and thankyou.
Despite it beiong a pub, the noise at night was acceptable. Only one chair for 2 people and no storage drawers
Good food. Friendly, helpful staff.
It was spotless rooms comfortable food was excellent. Loved the atmosphere would certainly go back and stay.
Friendly owner, clean comfortable rooms, suitability for mountain biking, climate control in rooms, quality of furnishings and fittings No wi-fi in rooms as advertised, no thermostatic mixer for shower
Staff were great from moment of arrival to departure, nothing was a problem to them
Afan lodge is a very modern hotel excellently placed for mountainbiking with friendly helpfull staff and acosy atmosphere. Top marks>
Mountain Bikers well catered for with secure lock-up.
Quiet, warm & comfortable room with excellent shower/bath. Great outlook. Main feature - open fire, was not lit once during our 3 day stay - disappointing. Evening meal was mediocre.
Staff verry helpfull with good local knowledge located right on the mb trails the food was lovely Slow internet no shampoo
Service, support for mountain bikers
Excllent setup, ideal for mtb in the area. Staff were very helpful in all aspects, particularly with guidance on trails in the area. No bad points to speak off.
Excellent food, staff and facilities Bed not very comfortable
the carpit was a little worn
The breakfast was great! The bed was not very comfortable and the shower not very powerful.
location breakfast and no bath in room
Very friendly and helpful staff
A Stately Home experience in a tranquil setting
The view from our bedroom window was lovely and our sheets were clean. The room was warm and we had an excellent breakfast. The rooms were very faded in decor and standard. For example our room had a pole above the window for a set of curtains but these were not to be found. The paint was peeling and there were red wine stains on the dresser which I am sure with a bit of polish could have been cleaned off. Unfortunately we could not get hot water out of our shower and when speaking with our fellow guests (we were there on a catch up with friends) they had similar problems. Depending on what you are looking for, this hotel is OK.
The location and history of the building brought with it some lovely traditional features and the views were to die for. The bedroom we stayed in seemed to have had been recently accessorised but the one thing that should have been done was the decoration! The wallpaper is actually falling away. Paintwork is chipped. The bathroom had been recently retiled with good quality tiles but again no painting and the whole appearance was sad and tired and a major let down. The 'kerb appeal' of the hotel lead us to expect a much higher internal finish. However the public rooms were more than acceptable.
The hotel is based in a magnificant former manor house and forms the basis for a most relaxing break away from turmoil of every day life which is situated only a few miles away.
Very convenient for Business in Bridgend. Good facillities for business stop over. Have already recommended to work colleagues.
Beautiful surroundings, friendly staff. Bar prices were a bit steep.
Lovely grounds and atmosphere at hotel
Beautiful location, friendly staff, a comfortable room tastefully decorated and good communal areas. The breakfast was good too. We had a lovely stay but just before we left I used the ladies toilet by the main reception. Two of the three tiolet appeared not to be in use and the remaining one was not clean. I reported this to the staff.
enjoyed my stay like the hotel
Very pleasant hotel and very helpful staff
Excellent hotel, great food, good location for shopping and the peace and quite of the countryside.
the professionalism and efficiency of the satff combined with real friendliness, all staff encountered seemed to like what they were doing. I liked the setting, even though the weather was bad! I will book to stay there for longer next time. nothing to dislike
the staff were lovely the site was beautiful, the food was wonderful. The breakfasts were the best I have ever had in terms of freshness and taste. showers are not quite up to standard - the mixers were a bit faulty and they
Lovely quiet location, with nice views. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms comfortable. Food excellent and plentiful. No bad points. Only thing I missed was not having a clock (that could be read in the dark) in the room.
Food was excerlent None
Easy to find, excellent promotion price - generally a good standard of accommodation along with very friendly and helpful staff None
Excellent value for money .Large bathroom with a big bath -could not fault the room.Clean, nice beds and plenty of shower gel and biscults.not like a premier/travel lodge. No views but what could you expect for £25.00 a night
Staff was very helpful during the course of stay and I would stay with them again if I need to go back. Just the fact that wi fi did not seem to work
2Nd occasion we have stayed here - excellent service and good value
working close by,very handy no
Very helpful staff and room was nice. No bad points apart from you got lost in the bathroom as it far too big!!! But that's not really a bad point.
There was nothing about the hotel I liked - it was convenient for where I wanted to be and that is all! The room was cold, one of the beds was so old that it sank in the middle, the views were dreadful (overlooking the rubbish bins) the lamp did not work and noise from the heating and the rest of the hotel was very loud!! Never ever again will i stay there.
The friendly staff were more than helpful during our stay at The Twelve Knights. Many thanks!
Large room, clean and tidy. Staff friendly and informative Check out time too early
Fantastic value - fairly basic accommodation but clean, large room and great service. Above a pub but the room was very quiet so was perfect. Not somewhere suitable for a luxury stay, but perfect for a clean, spacious room with great service for a bargain price.
