About Queen Elizabeth
The youngest member of the Cunard Line fleet, Queen Elizabeth is a Vista-class cruise ship that made its maiden voyage in 2010. It offers old-fashioned elegance, with entertainment including lawn bowls, afternoon tea and ballroom dancing, in Art Deco-inspired surroundings. This cruise ship gives passengers a chance to escape from modern life and immerse in old world glamor. A number of cruise options are available on Queen Elizabeth, ranging from short 4 or 5-night trips around East Asia, taking in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore, across Europe and longer trips to Australia. Popular ports of call include Lisbon, Melbourne, the Canary Islands and Helsinki. Shore excursions allow passengers to delve into culture, such as kayaking around the ancient city walls in Dubrovnik and gondola rides in Venice. With a passenger capacity of 2092 and a crew of 996, Queen Elizabeth has 154 inside rooms and 892 outside rooms, spread over 12 passenger decks. While the luxurious, exclusive Grand Suites include dining for eight, a powder room, butler service and more, all rooms are equipped with amenities including private showers, refrigerators, safes, hairdryers, robes with matching slippers and satellite TVs. The ship is inspired by traditional English culture, and guests will find many iconic brands such as Fortnum & Mason and Harris Tweed operating onboard. There are two pools and eight restaurants, a casino, spa and fitness center, where passengers can take classes including yoga and spinning. A driving net allows guests to practice their golf swing and croquet is also available. Children are catered for with playgrounds and organised activities, however Queen Elizabeth is best suited to couples, mature travelers and those with a penchant for elegance.
