The restaurant and food were excellent The shower head fell off while showering. The maintenance man had to come up while we were half naked. The beds were very small - 2 singles in my room. The hotel had no service staff - no one to help you to you room with your bags. We were charged top dollar for the room and when we complained to Management, we were told they would call back the next day but never did. We are still waiting on a partial credit for the room and it doesn't seem like its going to happen. Management did not seem willing to help at all - they kept saying it would go into their "report". That report didn't help us in any way. This hotel is supposed to be a teaching hotel. Shame on them.
Location for flying out of Shannon Bit dated and worn
I found the on-site restaurants disappointing since it's a restaurant hospitality school as well as a hotel. The service was amazingly slow and the food bland and tastes although presentation was quite nice
Short 5 min walk from airport Excellent room service Rainfall shower Comfortable bed Excellent staff No thermostat
Convenient to airport and did not hear any planes. Staff was very helpful with luggage
It was so great to be able to walk directly from airport arrivals to my hotel after a long stressful day. Vice Versa in the morning - I checked my bag in for departure and then went back to the hotel to grab breakfast. The hotel was very clean, with updated bathrooms, the staff were responsive and pleasant. Would highly recommend for airport users.
Superb staff, very helpful. Hotel is very clean.
ease of check in, food service, staff, proximity to airport, clean room NOTHING
Simple but very well kept room with all the necessary requirements. Very tidy and well kept hotel with a very nice pub attached. Free wifi. Massive car park. Very confusing layout to the rooms as it took us a good 15-20 minutes to actually locate our room. Tried to go for a meal at the restaurant but it was closed for some reason. Probably a bit far out of town to be convenient (about half an hours walk from Ennis town centre).
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and good value for money. There was no hot water late at night for a shower which was disappointing. Bathroom decor looked very dated.
Frindlyness of staff it was lovely That I couldent stay longer
The buffet breakfast was really good. The room and fittings were dated and are in need of refurb. Public areas and restaurant are better.
location to city of Ennis, helpful employees, food (except breakfast) and parking It was not easy for older people to move about the hotel. Had to walk long distance to room and had to use steps to different levels.
Nice hotel with good bar and decent breakfast. Very good value for money. The only complaint I could have was a slight stale odour in my bedroom which wasn't helped by the lack of extractor fan in the ensuite bathroom.
Friendly staff and comfort
lovely hotel, easy location in to town (need to get taxi but there only 7 euro) realy nice staff, not packed, realy realy clean room and bathrooms. pool and spa lovley nice and modern. very dated rooms esp bathroom (70's brown and cream tiles), food not great-but for 20euro a night we didnt realy mind!!
Friendly and welcoming staff and great facilities. It was maybe a bit further from the town centre than I would have liked.
It was fine. The desk clerk acted like she didn't like to work. Gave a rather negative feel to what was otherwise a fine visit. Inside the hotel is a maze getting to rooms. We finally brought our luggage in through a fire door since it would have been a real pain to follow the complicated trail and stairs to our room.
They upgrade our room for no extra charge as they were quiet
Generally a very good atmosphere the staff at the ajoining pub were exceptionally responsive and efficient and coped well when very busy The corridors outside the rooms needed more ventilation as they sometime almost smelt of cigarette smoke!
Ease of check in/out, central location, onsite parking, all round nice hotel.
No hairdryer. Two different kinds of shampoo provided but not conditioner.
I liked the central location and the availability of car parking Booking.com confirmed booking, but the hotel had no reservation
Helpful staff, beautiful room and great location. The breakfast wasn't the best and service was VERY slow.
ease of check in/out. Room was well equipped, although I couldn't get the coffee machine to work!
Very central with lovely front desk staff and nice bar staff
Location and size of the bedroom Lack of leisure centre but I was aware of this before I arrived so not a complaint more an observation
Dinner in the pub was really. We had a lovely view of cathedral from our room. View of air handling units on roof. Three drunk ladies in lobby at 7am.
A little worn around the edges in the public areas - but still a great hotel to stay over before returning to the U.S. from Shannon. Our room had been refurbished and was modern, clean and up to date. Location was great. Free parking a bonus as well. They didn't have my rate correct when I checked in - assured that would be correct when I checked out. But, it was still not right - although it was fixed without a problem on departure.
it was very peaceful, nice hosts, would go there again to have night away, excellent breakfast. none
The staff was very nice. The place was peaceful and homely
Location is very convenient to the Bunratty Castle and Folk experience, and a 10 minute straight ride to the Shannon airport. Hosts were great, breakfast was the best we had in Ireland, house is lovely. Not a thing
The guest house was great. I was immediately greeted by name upon arrival and given a spacious room with a fantastic bathroom. Additionally, as I had an early flight out of Shannon the owner offered to serve me breakfast an hour earlier than normal. The guest house is in immaculate condition and I would highly recommend it to any type of traveler. Its location - less than 5 minutes from Bunratty castle is an added bonus!
We liked the location and the friendly hedlpful people who run the guesthouse. Enjoyble stay.
we arrived late off of a flight and we were made feel so welcome by the owner, nothing was too much trouble,we had to leave early in the morning but before we left we had the most wonderfull freshly cooked breakfast followed by fresh out of the oven scones butter and jam, while we got ourselves ready the owner was outside defrosting our car, the most wonderfull service we have ever had and if we are back that way again thats where we will be staying. nothing i didnt like about this hotel
Pleasant owners who tried to accommodate our needs. Because the weather was unusually cold the room did not feel warm enough even when the heating was on.
This was our last night in Ireland. We couldn't of picked a better place. Very clean and nice. The owner was a Wounderful man. I would stay there again
The staff were always helpful and friendly. Door being locked after 12.30. We were not warned about this as part of the check in process, so were bewildered to find ourselves locked out the first night, and did not realise at first that we needed to ring the bell on the car park entrance to be let in. I understand the reasons for this, but it should be fully explained to guests when checking in.
staff very helpful facilities were very good. location excellent for town centre
Location The church bells in the morning!
Right bang in the middle of town,no need for taxis, great weekend! had to dance about in the shower to get wet lol!
Peace and Quiet n/a
Breakfast selection could have been better
The location was great. You could walk to restaurants and shops. The staff at the restaurant was great!! They were very friendly and helpful!! The room was very small and the bathroom had mold on the walls!! We also had a room on the first floor by the front door so very little privacy.
Excellent room, Excellant food, great location N/A
All the staff where very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food was great. None
Clean, well appointed rooms
Everything and everyone was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff where all very friendly and made us feel very welcome. None
We attended a wedding where both staff and food were superb
Location was important during my visit door on left on entering corridor to rooms should be kept closed, smell of cleaning materials and appearance takes from overall impression
size of room nothing
The food at breakfast
Was a superb hotel, excellent service all round. Very close to the Castle and Folk Park. Great value for money, would recommend to anyone!
Situation, staff, views Its an old building so for some reason closing of doors of other rooms was very noisy
setting was nice...could walk to surrounding places, things to do. rooms weren't ready when we got there which was fine because we walked around but then when we came back a bus load had come in checking in and we then had quite a wait.
Hotel was very conveniently located for walking to the castle. The first room we were given was above the pool, and had a rhythmic thumping noise from the pump well into the night. Around 10 pm, we transferred to another room which was quieter, but lower in quality. The second room had a castle view in the distance over the HVAC machinery on the ground floor roof. The whole hotel could use improved maintenance, and you would expect a better room from the start in the low season (Nov) when there are few guests.
Late night bar. my wife loved the Spa. she wanted massage and treatment but your place had no slot too fit her in.
location, convenience to shopping and comfort getting wash cloths and the smoking room availability
The really early check-in after a transatlantic flight. Its a beautiful hotel in a beautiful part of the world.
Nice hotel and we were especially grateful after attending the medieval castle banquet that we had a short walk to get back to the hotel.
The location was perfect~ Bunratty Castle next door and JP Clarke's, a great pub, in walking distance. And we had a quick 15 minute drive to Shannon Airport in the morning. Our room was at the end of a VERY long hall with a view into a junky lot. And it was noisy quite late. Staff was not very welcoming~ they seemed tired. We had been spoiled by two weeks of B&B stays and were a bit disappointed. Value for the money was good and it was a perfectly safe and clean place to spend our last night in Ireland.
Lobby areas are nice Decor was quite dated and the beds were very uncomfortable for the price.
Our waitress was charming. The old aviation adverts displayed in the corridors were interesting. It has a thinner than usual veneer of quality: no porter was offered for our cases; breakfast fruit was tinned, there was no yoghurt; dinner waitress didn't know how to serve a bottle of wine; and so on. More akin to an average B&B than a hotel.
How close yet quiet it was to the Shannon airport. And the front desk staff was extrememly helpful in getting info to us, and even helped me make a resevation for when I'd be back in the area; but at another motel as Oakwood arms was completely booked. The girls that were the most help were May nad Lisa. Some of the mattresses and pillows were very hard!!!
There seems to be a rich history here, but little that I saw to tell about it. Stay waa fine, close to Shannon airport. -
We have always found the hotel excellant, from our perspective it supplies good facilities close to airport and is an ideal way to start our holidays in Ireland. No.
Very clean hotel with spacious rooms and friendly staff. Fresh brewed real coffee which is hard to find in Ireland. 2 minute drive to Shannon Airport
It was cute, & quaint. Loved the antique pieces around the public areas. Was close to airport, which was our main need, as our flight was very early. Staff was great! Very helpful for our very short stay. Bathroom needed more space for our stuff. We could have used more hangers for our clothes. Shuttle service to the airport would have been Great!
The food was great and it was quiet Everything was fine
The staff are more that helpful and very good at what they do. The rooms are very good and comfortable. Leisure facilities were first class and clean.
The Lynch West is a lovely hotel, very friendly staff and very homely atmosphere no
The friendliness of the staff and th customers led to a weekend that was very homely and cosy no faults from us
breakfast gorgeous! booked into the pine room restaurant at 6.30 in evening we were so hungry. we were first in and it had only opened so we were expecting lovely fresh hot food, instead we got barely warm veg and mash., steak was bone dry obviously not freshly cooked and the sauce was barely warm too. soup was supposed to have croutons and fresh cream in it but had neither. I was disappointed with that. the meal cost a lot for such poor food. Having said that the breakfast the next morning was just delicious.
its a busy hotel so if you are looking for a quiet life this is not one for you. However its excllent as a location to visit the cliffs of moher etc not really
accessability-on main road, good parking, a-la-carte menu in grill room, buffet breakfast, value for maney, selection of local activities available. We only stayed one night so couldn't find anything to dislike.
the rooms where not very sound proof, and due to a group of loud teenagers sleep was minimal.
The warm welcome and service offered by staff A bit too cold in the lobby
good value for money. Excellent leisure centre attached. Internet access from the room was free and worked consistently disorganised especially at some breakfast times. I paid in advance and it was charged to my credit card but they claim they didn't receive the payment and wanted to charge me again. Luckily, I had kept the credit card statement, which I have sent to them to try to resolve the problem
the shower wasn't very clean and the guy at check-in didn't tell us when breakfast was or that it was included in the room rate so that was a little confusing the next morning and the food wasn't very good.
style, friendly, and would stay againwhen in Ennis.
Nothing Dis not like the location, web site is mis leading. Hotel was noisy, 3 other people in our party all had same issue. People outside at night and also load in their rooms. No clocks, or Coffee/Tea available in the morning.
friendly staff no tea-maker in room
Everything Lack of signposting, people do not seem to be aware of this hotel.
friendliness, convenience, ambience.
The internet connection was desperate and I need that for my email
Quality breakfast and quality room. A particularly pleasant and helpful manager. The large television onthe wall of the breakfast room and above ourtable, showing an Australian soap and then a Jerry Springer yype show on tranvestites
The restaurant was nice. The room which i was stayin in was very small, with a double bed which was two single beds put together (not comfortable at all). There were stains in the bed sheets that obviously couldnt be washed out, but nevertheless shoud not have been used.House keeping called at 9 am,checkout was not until 12.
There are so many incredible things to say about this hotel and it's staff. The guy who worked in the mornings (Brian) was so helpful to get me an early check-in when I requested it, and in the evening Shane printed off a bus schedule for me. Speaking of which, it's a simple 15 minute bus ride (costs 2.50 each way) to and from Shannon airport, and there's a bus stop directly in front of the hotel. The staff in the restaurant were lovely, and even offered to bring food and a pint up to my room if I had requested. The room itself was way bigger than I expected and was clean & comfortable. There's a small market about a 5-minute walk away (called Mace), which has everything you'd ever need if that's your thing. Plus there's a larger market and a number of restaurants about a 15 minute walk away. This was a great stay for a night stopover in Shannon and I can't recommend it highly enough!
The bed was very comfortable Non Irish at the reception desk is not appropriate
It was convenient to airport and the guy that checked us in at 11 o'clock at night was very helpful and polite
Super helpful, convenient, clean comfortable room, and the food at the pub restaurant was delicious. Just what we needed between flights from Europe to USA. All the ironing boards were being used, but they brought us an iron and we made do. Very helpful, courteous staff. Thanks for a great stay!
Perfect for a stay when flying from shannon airport Nothing
everyone very friendly. only criticism is having the one style of resturant - i was only there two nights - is it chinese every night? if so and stayed longer then would have to eat elsewhere see above
Wi-Fi did not work during our stay (could log in but no ability beyond that - I heard another customer at the front desk showing the problem on their tablet (i.e. it was a hotel problem) but it was never fixed for them or for us. With no international phone coverage on my mobile, Wi-Fi as promised would have been helpful.
Cheap accomodation The hotel advertised that it had a swimming pool and when we arrived we found that the pool was actually in another hotel, very dissapointed and were left with bored child
the friendly atmosphere
the staff were very helpful food was very nice we would to eat some nice traditional food there was nothing wrong with the Chinesefood but it would be nice to have a little more irish but it is a great hotel for reaching the airport and thanks for letting us leave our car while we went on holidaysMichael and Breda Lynam
Location to Shannon Airport.
Fine location, very convenient to the airport, relatively comfortable bed, nice shower No breakfast included for the price
A fine clean and comfortable hotel. Good facilities and service.
It was family friendly, our two year son had a wonderful time. It was great see other children and it was fantastic that families were welcomed so well. The breakfast was very good. However, we were disappointed by the meals in the evening. There was a limited menu. No healthy options. The restaurant lacked atmosphere and direction/guidance as to how to obtain your meal. It was not clear wether the meal was self service.
Staff were very welcoming & friendly. Room was very clean & comfortable
Handiness to Dromoland
how nice the staff were to everyone no
The hotel catered for all the family and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. We look forward to our next visit.
The lesiure factilities.Tennis Couts and Pitch and Putt. Good food and very nice staff. Convient in the sense it was near some major attractions. The location. Bit out of Ennis Town.
location the hotel should advertise the fact that this is a family hotel in the summer season - i suggested this hotel to american visitor who were at a wedding in dromland castle , but i was unaware the young childern would be running around the lounge area and hotel late into the night . this was a new experience to the usa visitors and myself also the staff were under great pressure with all these going on also there was a lot of complants about the temp of water and tap not working correctlly
the residents bar and the staff in the breakfast room in the morning Cost of breakfast at €10 per person per day seems expensive for a couple and our room was much too hot each night we came in, so much so that we had leave the window all night.
Had a pool for the kids and big rooms. Could have been cleaner, stains on chairs and bed covers.
We enjoyed our stay. It was very convenient to Shannon Airport. Hotel staff helped us with dinner reservations. Very friendly. It was a short walk to town.
The staff were extremely gracious and the dinner we had was exceptional.
Antique furniture, clean. All services allocated to the in-hotel restaurant. Services to hotel guests are poor.
The manager took a personnal interest in meeting each guest. None.
The location was perfect for walkable access to Bunratty Castle and Park. We were there for one day and the staff was friendly. The rooms were large and clean. We had dinner there and the food was 5 star and the service impeccable. I would highly recommend this place.
close to bunrathy castle easy to find and get to no electricity or hot water in the morning the hotel staff phoned early in the morning and woke us to see if we were staying another night even though they had already asked us prior to check in.
very spacious triple room. big bathroom. good location for bunratty castle.
The hotel stay was amazing the staff was so wonderful. Noel who ownes the hotel couldn't be more helpful made a family of five of various ages OAPs Child and two adults feel very special. It was our first wedding anniversary and the hotel staff and noel made it an amazing short trip. The food was excellent and the rooms are stunning.
Clean facilities!! Huge bathrooms!! Comfortable beds and friendly staff. If I had it to do over, I would have stayed here all 6 nights and just visited sights we could drive to. Great location, too. Room 7 was excellent. No problems at all.
Beautiful room. V.nice, friendly staff. Beautiful meal, V. well presented. Reasonable rates. No toilet paper in rooms on arrival. Dirty cups, empty tea and milk sachets and unclean used and empty sherry decanter and glasses left in room. Room generally only half cleaned. Owner was apolegetic but did not return to room with the sherry.Sherry was not available in my sister's room and the owner said that decanters that go missing are not being replaced! Mirror light in bathroom not working. No soap. Was handed toilet rolls at reception to bring to the room myself!
A very pleasant welcome to the hotel and very attentive staff at breakfast. The plaster in our room (12) needed attention urgently. This did not put us off this hotel but it could be considered an eyesore.
Our hosts were fabulous. We got to spend some time chatting with them the evening we arrived. Wonderful people! Their home was spacious with comfortable rooms and beds. Breakfast was great and they are located just a few miles from Shannon airport. Thank you Kathryn, Sean and Denise for such a delightful end to our stay, in Ireland! There was nothing I didn't like, besides the fact that we couldn't stay longer.
