Pros: Third generation family run well designed hotel. Nice balcony with our room, good evening meal and breakfast.
Cons: The small town provided little alternative but to dine in our hotel
Pros: As we travel by car parking facilities good. Staff very helpful. Restaurant good. Good position walking distance from the historic centre and not far from motorway.
Cons: There was nothing that we didn’t like
Pros: This is the fourth time we have stayed here and it cannot be beaten for position, friendliness of staff and good food.
Pros: Family run hotel and wonderful wonderful people!
Pros: We keep returning to hotel Crabun; our hosts are now good friends and are always welcoming and helpful. The view up the Aosta Valley is beautiful. We like the food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast has a good choice. There is a private car park, good wi-fi and air conditioning.
Cons: Nothing, it’s all good.
Pros: Nice family run hotel. Good restaurant
With a stay at Albergo Carla in Pont-Saint-Martin, you'll be steps from Piedmont Alps and a 2-minute drive from Ponte Romano. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Right on the Via Francigena.
Cons: Limited breakfast and low lighting...turn up the lights!
Pros: Small Hotel with Big Heart
Pros: Not much. It was very tired, loo seat loose, window shutter broken. Lady host quite helpful.
Cons: Extremely busy road location. Wifi unreliable upstairs, everything past its best.
Pros: We had stayed at this Hotel 45 years ago and we wanted to go back to see what is was like now. We were rather disappointed as it was not the same as it was then. The owner was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was basic, coffee was good.
Cons: The pillows were hard and uncomfortable. We were disappointed to find that it was run down and not been renovated. Very basic.
Pros: Carla, or who I assume was Carla, was very accommodating. I was walking with a back pack on the Via Francigena and had injured my neck so that I could no longer carry it. She kindly agreed to drive or packs to our B&B in Ivrea.
Cons: It is too far from the center of Pont-Saint-Martin. It isn't really in Pont-Saint-Martin but Carema, the next town. Everything is outdated and run down and the shower is too small for all but the smallest people.
Pros: Lady extremely helpful, room lovely & cool on a very hot day & had balcony comfy bed
Cons: Out only draw bk was it was quite a walk to the town & the weather was threatening rain
With a stay at Ad Gallias in Bard, you'll be in the historical district, just a 1-minute walk from Piedmont Alps and 7 minutes by foot from Le Alpi dei Ragazzi Museum. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Planning an event in Bard? This hotel has 431 square feet (40 square meters) of space consisting of conference space and a meeting room.
Pros: Great breakfast, nice view
Cons: We were travelling with two small children and were given the least accessible room - 3 flights of stairs without elevator. Reception was unable to provide us with an extra set of linen. Spa reserved for guest over 14 years of age.
Pros: Nice style of rooms.
Cons: We got a room at the backside first even though we booked with balcony. Had to wait half an hour more for the correct room to be available. Wellness: cold water shower doesn't work, so cooling down is problematic.
Pros: The location is very good
Cons: The view of my bedroom was to nowhere
Pros: Location- in a pitoresque small town just beneath Bard fortress. It s a boutique hotel, not many rooms. Price- slighltly above the average for the area, but cheaper than Switzerland. Rooms- excellent, with a roof window overlooking the sky, with wooden very nice furniture, very cosy and unique. Breakfast-quite good with local food but you have to ask for caffe, eggs. They tell you that they’ve got everything but they jusy don t show it because of few guests. Restaurant- actually the one inside is the best in the region but quite expensive. The one called bistro in front of the hotel is very very poor, tastless pasta. Staff- friendly, but a little arrogant- you can really see the french and swiss influence here.
Cons: Wireless- very poor, unusable. Spa&jacuzzi- for 120 euros/ night you would expect it to be free of charge, but no- 15€/person for 2 hours. Parking-is free but quite far from the hotel if you have luggage to carry.
Situated in Hone, Auberge de la Gare Hone has free bikes, shared lounge, garden, and free WiFi. The accommodation features a shared kitchen, a tour desk and ticket service for guests. At the hostel, rooms come with a desk. The rooms have a wardrobe. Auberge de la Gare Hone offers a buffet or Italian breakfast. The area is popular for skiing and cycling, and bike hire is available at the accommodation. Aosta is 45 km from Auberge de la Gare Hone, while Saint Vincent is 19 km from the property. The nearest airport is Turin Airport, 74 km from the hostel.
Pros: Everything! Marco and Roberta are excellent hosts. It’s easy to see they worked in 5* hotels before setting up this venture. I would recommend it to anyone. We were a family of five in the Aosta valley for skiing.
Pros: This is really a terrific place to stay. Robbi and Marco are very friendly and helpfull people and good guides for your trips. The view at Il Forte di Bard is magnificent! Rooms are spacious, new and have a friendly interior. While the building has been the old station, trains still stop in front, so you can reach this hotel easily by train. We can surely recommend this location!
Pros: Staff are sweethearts, very welcoming and will help you in any way.
Located at the entrance of Aosta Valley, this 3-star hotel is in the neighbourhood of an ancient Roman bridge. Rooms have private bathroom with shower, minibar, satellite TV, and wired internet. Hotel Ponte Romano is ideally located to visit Gressoney, Champorcher and other beautiful valleys. A breakfast including hot drinks, juice and croissants. Open daily, Ponte Romano's restaurant features refined cuisine, including regional, national and international specialities.
Pros: Friendly staff, good dinner in restaurant, good breakfast with assortment of cheese, pastries & cold meats with coffee
Cons: The toilet seat in Room 11 was broken - dangerous as this could severely nip someone's rear end! Toilet cistern was faulty as the water kept running after flushing. No soap of any kind (liquid or bar) at sink or in the shower. Apparently the small plastic bottles of shower wash is what you are meant to use as soap something I have never experienced with my extensive travel - soap is ALWAYS provided.
Cons: This is simply an example of how poorly run this hotel was. I had a mountain of toilet paper next to my door. My room was gross the staff seemed to be playing hotel. It seems as if someone inherited a hotel and no one knows what they are doing.
Pros: Great location, good dinner in hotel restaurant and friendly staff
Cons: This night's stay in Room 12 was much more comfortable than last week's stay in Room 11 due to extras like bathrobes on bed. However, maintenance is also required in this bathroom. Shower head holder was broken as was the top of the toilet flusher and again no soap in either the sink area or in the shower.
Pros: My room had a balcony and view of the old Roman bridge which gives its name to the hotel. Superb! The room was very comfortable and the staff were kind and friendly. It's right at the centre of this little town and everything is in a short walking distance. It also has a good and very reasonably priced restaurant, and a bar. Good for travellers as just off the motorway system and easy to find. It's a perfect stop-off before driving through the Mont Blanc tunnel the next day en route from Italy to the UK.
Cons: There is nothing to dislike. The following is simply an observation - Public parking is available right outside the hotel in a little square, but payment is required in the week up until a certain point in the evening. I was directed towards a free space at the side of the hotel, but when travelling I prefer more private parking during one-night stops as I was carrying a lot of luggage in my car, some of it very personal and sentimental items. Having said that, Pont-Saint-Martin is a very relaxed and beautiful little town, and in different circumstances I would have been 100 per cent happy to use the little public car park right outside the hotel, which is very very safe and quiet.
Pros: The staff are super friendly. They have a decent breakfast, there is a great pizzeria on the first floor and they sell coffee and ice cream on the ground floor. The rooms are large and have a balcony overlooking the square. This place is excellent value for money.
Pros: We've stayed here six or seven times travelling to and fro between France and Italy. Always pleasant and relaxing. The rooms are large and comfortable, many overlooking all the activity in the town square, or looking toward the historic bridge.
Cons: The lift was out of action this year, which made it harder to take luggage to the third floor.
Located in Borgofranco d'Ivrea, B&B L'Albero Maestro is within a 15-minute drive of Ivrea Cathedral and Castello d'Ivrea. Featured amenities include microwave in a common area and refrigerator in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: On the Via Francigena route, exceptionally kind owners, good breakfast, large and clean room, arranged a bike for me to cycle into the village for dinner
Cons: Check in time on booking.com is 6pm but owners were happy to let me in earlier. Perhaps consider to amend.
Pros: Great hosts and very good value for money!
Pros: The hosts are really friendly and helpful. There's a parking space on the territory, and don't be fooled by Google Maps - the B&B is actually on the opposite side of the corner where Maps show it (some 30 meters away). Room was comfortable, and the decoration was funky (someone is a big fan of Audrey Hepburn). It's easily reachable from the highway, and it' easy to drive to places from there.
Cons: The location on Google Mars is some 30 meters off - it's actually on the opposite side of the corner where Maps show it. Breakfast was sweet but quite small (two pancakes and few small pastries and crackers) - home-made and all, but if you plan a hiking day, pack a sandwich in advance.
Pros: Host was very helpful and extremely kind
Pros: This is a beautiful Place we all loved enormously. Simply gorgeous, very clean and extremely well taken care of. Our host was extremely friendly and helped us with all we needed, including booking a great Restaurant for us.
Pros: Got a friendly welcome and they were very helpful.
Cons: Everything was excellent
With a stay at La Casa Antica in Pont-Saint-Martin, you'll be a 1-minute walk from Piedmont Alps and 12 minutes by foot from Ponte Romano. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: A bit more basic than expected!
Pros: Lovely hostess, lovely room, balcony with clothes line. Walking the Francigena it is often difficult to wash and dry clothes. Beautiful garden. Near centre.
Cons: Bathroom very small but useable. External to room.
Pros: Old house renovated to accommodate travellers. I'm doing the via francigena, which was a good price for pilgrims!
Cons: No boiling water facilities at hand, however owner was happy to accommodate on request.
Pros: Very friendly host; Big bathroom
Cons: All the rest. Not very comfortable room. It’s not a hotel, it’s guest house.
With a stay at B&B Jasmyn in Donnas, you'll be steps from Piedmont Alps and a 3-minute drive from Ponte Romano. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: BELLS! ALL NIGHT. NO aircon as requested. Breakfast in a café 1km away. Owner oblivious to problems.
Pros: The owner is excellent.
Pros: Good location, accessible by car.
Cons: The host would come inside the apartment in the morning to prepare the breakfast, but we never met him/her. The place looked like we were staying in a grandmas house. There was so much clutter everywhere and no space for our luggage in the room. There were even family photos everywhere...
Pros: Comfortable room with shared bathroom, kitchen
Cons: Long walk to city center
Pros: Clean, comfortable, friendly The bed was arranged so neatly with chocolates, really nice. Very dog friendly. The breakfast was very tasty and lots of choice. Good coffee too.
Pros: Laura is very friendly and provided us a wonderful breakfast! There was so much she allowed us to wrap up and take it for our lunch! She went out of her way to get our Via Francigena credentials stamped by the parish priest while we ate this morning. The location is very quiet and right on the Via Francigena alternative route. The beds are comfortable.
Cons: Wifi is advertised but it was impossible to get online, even very spotty to get data on 4G. This is understandable, since the location is at the base of a hill but this should be taken off the listing.
Pros: Breakfast was very good and the lady serving it was very nice.
Cons: Old-fashioned house
Pros: We arrived very late (11 pm) and left early (8 am), but no problem for our host. A very kind lady who prepared us a lovely breakfast at 7 am.
Located in Hone, Ristoro Saint Roch is within a 15-minute drive of Issogne Castle and Bard Fortress. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, luggage storage, and an elevator. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Half pension 3 courses, excl. dessert and drinks. Good portions and antipasto of the house. Dinner at 2nd floor. Easy check in. Friendly hosts. Got double bed (as asked and confirmed via the app). Rooms on ground floor. Access via the garden. Room had a nice size. Simple Italian breakfast (sweet and savory).
Cons: Spiral mattress, not my favourite.
Pros: dinner was tasty.
Cons: the room was dark .
Pros: Very friendly welcome from Tonio in his traditional trattoria. Room are very basic but comfortable and very clean. Dinner option was very good at 17 Euro. Breakfast just right. Lots of grounds and space. Really good for one night stop over.
Cons: Rooms sparse but only needed a bed for the night after Long journey. Bit difficult to find with only one person in the car but a nice welcome on arrival and immediately made to feel welcome.
Pros: Antonio and his cousins could not of been more friendly! They treated us like part of the family, amazing hospitality. The location was great, such a beautiful area. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast!!
When you stay at Albergo Ristorante Centro in Vico Canavese, you'll be steps from Piedmont Alps. Featured amenities include luggage storage and an elevator. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The staff running the hotel treated us so well, we feel like they are family.
Located in Settimo Vittone, Il Falco e la Volpe is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Ponte Romano and Ecomuseo della Castagna. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, express check-in, and express check-out. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: We had an excellent stay at Il Falco e La Volpe. Check-in was easy and the staff was very kind, especially the gentleman working in the morning who explained where the breakfast meats and alpine cheeses were made. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel provided everything we needed including shampoos, soaps, a local guide, tea, a mini fridge, etc. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of meats, cheeses, fruit, bread, eggs, cereal, and good coffee. Finally, the location of the hotel was convenient and allowed us to explore the Aosta and Ayas valleys.
Cons: The room was a bit smaller than expected, however this did not detract from our experience as the space was clean, cozy and comfortable. We were very happy with our stay.
Pros: The restaurant with its wine cellar. Giuseppe and his family were soooooo friendly, a real good memory on our trip to Rome
Pros: Amazing location. Lovely owners. Very nice restaurant owned by hotel nearby.
Cons: No AC on what was a very warm sultry night made sleep difficult, but wouldn’t be a problem in normal weather for the area.
Pros: Beautiful spot, great breakfast, great host. Other guests were nice and excited to be there. Hotel was quite clean and looks recently redone. Two restaurants walking distance away.
Cons: 30 degrees and no AC, made room hit until it cooled off with mountain air.
Pros: Beautiful location and recently refurbished to a high standard. Views incredible. Staff super-friendly. Italian breakfast buffet to die for!
Pros: Authentic and family run business - very accommodating with our young daughter - we will go again
Pros: Distinctive style and secluded location, beer and snacks included, thousands TV channels (hard to navigate and some don't work, though) Staff super helpful and lots of sweet options for breakfast.
Cons: The room was smallish and there's no duvet cover but a top sheet only (which seems to be common in Italy but not so much further north).
Pros: Ernesto & his family were so welcoming over three days in May - great time of year to visit. This was a top rate stay that included a window into the culture and the people of the region. Highlights most certainly is the breakfast and the view. You can anticipate a full spread, provided in assistance with their sister restaurant featuring fresh make your own fruit juices, a curated spread of local meats and cheeses, and a giant block of butter. Yes, you read correctly. The drive up isn't for the faint of heart, but it was fun and exhilarating. Slight issue was waking up to find ants in the room but they were quickly sprayed and cleaned up upon request. Ernesto is a riot, we laughed every morning even thought we couldn't fully understand each other.
Cons: We had a small issue with ants in the room. The management quickly addressed in the morning.
With a stay at Le Coeur du Pont in Donnas, you'll be steps from Piedmont Alps and a 3-minute drive from Bard Fortress. Featured amenities include luggage storage, laundry facilities, and a library. For a surcharge, guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle (available 24 hours) and a train station pick-up service.
Pros: Family run hotel. Very warm and welcomming in every way. We stayed 3 nights for skiing in Cervinia. 1 hour drive from the hotell, but totally worth it. Beautiful, warm and calm place to come home to after a full day of skiing. Surrondings are also very beautiful, winyards all around and beautiful mountains. Both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant was beautiful. Everything homemade. Rooms were romantic. Everything was clean and the hotel has an amazing atmosphere, love in all the details. It was beautifully decorated for christmas when we were there. We also had a great glass of local wine by the fireplace in the livingroom/breakfast area.
Cons: Nothing. Loved everything.
Pros: Very cosy and heartily place, they even cooked every day a special 3- course- meal only for me because of an allergy. Absolutely recommendable, thank you very much again for looking after me so well. Will stay here again soon.
Pros: Is it possible to give a hotel a score higher than 10? If so, this would be the place. We loved every single thing about LeCoeur du Pont. Donnas is the most charming village I've ever seen. And the historic home that houses the hotel now was built in the 1300s. Much of the original structure is still visible, and the decor (I don't know if it's Medieval or from that house, but it's old and beautiful) is perfect. The owner is an excellent chef. We had the set meal the first night we were there, and it was to die for. VERY good and priced well for what you get. The second night, we were the only guests, and we didn't want her to go to so much trouble, so we asked for spaghetti. Best we ever had. And breakfast! OMG.
Cons: The parking area is a little hard to find. Ask the owner for directions, or look online (I found the lot easily because I found another traveler's comments and printed them off). Google Maps won't get you there.
Offering a bar, Casa Ciuca is located in Bard, a 5-minute drive from Donnas. Free WiFi access is available in all public areas. Each accommodation will provide you with a wardrobe and mountain views. It has a shared bathroom. An array of activities can be enjoyed on site or in the surroundings, including skiing and hiking. Casa Ciuca is a 10-minute drive from Verrès, while Ivrea is 23 km away.
Pros: Wonderful, wonderful location - on the main (and only) street of Bard, right under the fort. Hosts very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Slight shortage of electrical outlets. Parking something of a challenge.
Offering a private garden, free bike rental and free WiFi, Mandoué is in the centre of Pont-Saint-Martin. It is 5 minutes' drive from the Forte di Bard castle. Rooms here will provide you with a flat-screen TV, functional décor and tiled floors. Each bathroom includes a hairdryer and free toiletries. You will enjoy a sweet breakfast buffet, served every morning in the communal dining area. The property is close to all services and enjoys good transport around town. Just 500 metres away, you can catch a bus to Milan or Turin. The Monterosa ski area is 30 km away.
Pros: Clean and modern furnishings.
Pros: Immaculately clean, really helpful owner, fantastic value for money
Pros: We drove from Milan Malpensa to Flaine and made a night stop here. The accommodation is very comfortable. Clean spacious room with good beds and a great bathroom. The breakfast was delicious and Walter and his entire family are super nice hosts. From arrival to departure they made us feel like vip’s.
Pros: Very interesting and helpful owner. Everything is walkable. Spotless clean, new. Delicious sweet breakfast with some local desserts. Highly recommend as a perfect value of money
Cons: Not possibile to pay by card
Pros: No frills value for money accommodation. Clean and well looked after property with friendly and kind owner.
Cons: The only drawback was trying to find the house in the dark!
Pros: Very friendly and helpful people. Nice modern clean and comfy bedrooms well equipped. And a great breakfast.
Pros: The room is in a small B&B that is family run. The owner was living in the same building and was very nice to us. Breakfast was exceptional, with a lot of choices. The B&B has also a small garden where you can relax and they have 2 parking spots. Location was also very good, close to the centre of the little village.
Located in Donnas, La Maison des Vignerons Chambres d'Hotes is in the mountains, a 1-minute drive from Piedmont Alps and 6 minutes from Ponte Romano. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: beautiful room with comfortable bed.
Cons: No air conditioning
With a stay at b&b Vecchio Torchio in Bard, you'll be a 1-minute walk from Piedmont Alps and 9 minutes by foot from Le Alpi dei Ragazzi Museum. Featured amenities include a library, microwave in a common area, and refrigerator in a common area.
Pros: Friendly atmosphere and welcoming hosts. Thé B&B is really well situated in the heart of the medieval city.
Pros: The breakfast was excellent and plentiful
Cons: Made an appointment to be there at 18h. Nobody there. Finally at 18.30h I telephoned the given number and left a message. The host phoned back 5mins later and arrive arrived 5 mins after that. If you use this place phone 30mins before you want to get in! Very narrow road (but quaint) to access the B&B. We parked 100m beyond near the church.
Pros: Location excellent
Pros: Wonderful location. Very spacious. Excellent, very friendly host. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: Bathroom cleanliness could be rated at 9/10. There were minor details in this area that could be improved, like dirt in hard to reach places. But nothing of much importance. Overall, very good cleanliness.
Pros: Perfect location, just a 100m from the entrance to the Fort. The apartment was lovey and warm (on a chilly November evening) and extremely well equipped. The host was welcoming and provided a lovely choice of things for breakfast.
Cons: Not the fault of the owner, but nothing at all open in the town for a drink or to eat at this time of year (November). We found a good pizzeria in Hone, 10 minutes walk across the river but even that doesn't open on Tuesdays.
Pros: We enjoyed our stay here - the location is fantastic, the cleanness impeccable, the breakfast abundant. The owner helped us find the way to the property and was very helpful and kind.
Pros: This is a lovely apartment right in the heart of Bard with the Castle only a short walk away. It has great facilities and a place to park the car if you have one. Check in is not until 6pm but that didnt matter to us because we spent time at the castle! Our breakfast was amazing too!
Pros: Perfect position Peaceful Beautifully presented Wonderful breakfast

Pros: To visit Bard Fort is already an amazing experience and to have the chance to sleep inside it is an unforgettable one. Everything was upon my expectations. Also thanks to Debora from the staff for accomadating.
Pros: Location unique staff was friendly and helpful booked us a nice restaurant to eat at in the evening the suite we had was just beautiful what a place
Cons: Would have liked a hot alternative for breakfast
Pros: Stunning setting for a Hotel and used in the Marvel Avengers movie.
Pros: The friendly kindness and attention to detail of Miss Carboni the Manager of the day. She delivered "above and beyond the call of duty" with a smile.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was just right. From the welcome to the goodbye.

Pros: Whimsical alpine fairytale with stunning views, clean room, and superb hosts (plus friendly dog)!
Pros: Very peaceful, beautiful house, super nice hosts and dog
Cons: Not everything that appears in the description is available for all guests
Pros: Fresh, scrumptious breakfast (choice of sweet or savoury). Views to die for. Excellent hospitality. Cute wooden attic. Comfortable bed.
Pros: Stunning view, beautiful apartment, delicious food! Everything is done with so much love for detail. Wibke&Francesco are wonderful hosts they make you feel very welcome and they have great tips for the area. If you love staying in a quiet beautiful place surrounded by nature, I would highly recommend this place!
Pros: Wonderful hospitality, great food, amazing view.
Pros: We very much enjoyed our 11 nights at Marcellina. Wibke and Francesco are great hosts and gave us many good recommendations for hikes, restaurants and river swimming. Wibke even made a special breakfast for our Nordic needs. Also they were very accomodating towards our dog. We loved the location in the middle of nature and didn't mind driving a bit through authentic cosy small villages to get to other hiking areas. We will recommend at least a 1 week stay and 2 is even better.
Pros: The house is very cosy, the views are amazing and Wibke & Fransesco we’re extremely kind and helpfull! We arrived late and they made sure we had some little snacks to eat. They also went through a lot of trouble to sent us our forgotten bagage! Super gratefull for that!
Cons: For a ‘Bed & Breakfast’ the breakfast could be a little better. Besides that, everything was fantastic!
Pros: Everything was super perfect! What we loved: Friendly, welcoming and warm hosts Wibke and Francesco - their knowledge and experience about the surroundings and skills of communication made our stay incredible: we hiked, travel and experienced the best of Aosta Valley; Comfortable and clean room; The traditional Italian dinner was amazing - tasty food, fantastic service and great value for money; Breakfast! We travel quite a lot, but we didn’t see such original, fresh and tasty way to serve breakfast; View from the room - OMG! Once again, the Hosts - they just sincerely love what they do and we were very happy about them!
Cons: That we had a chance to stay only for 3 nights.
Pros: Great quiet place, very nice host and amazing house. Recommend to visit.
Cons: It takes some time to get there via the mountain road
