Easy to find, free parking Personnel don't speak any language except Spanish, the walls very thin, poor and costly "a la carte" breakfast
The hotel is very clean, comfortable and well-furnished. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant prices appear to be rather expensive.
The location was fantastic - very close to the centre. Staff were very helpful and friendly, room was spacious, clean and very nicely decorated.Loved the little balcony with our room - excellent hotel It was perfect
Friendly staff Weak wi-fi signal
Central location, staff were very helpful in solving a problem. decor is tired and lcking in warmth
the staff and the location breakfast is a litlle poor
Liked the location, in the old section of Gijon. Room was large and quiet, staff exceptional. The area beautiful and interesting. Construction on nearby streets caused confusion, but staff went out of their way when we became lost trying to reach the hotel.
It was a positive surprise in all points. We got a very big room with new bath room. The always on night light was a bit disturbing in the first night and we had liked to switch it off but that was not possible, guess it is legal obligation.
Excellent view, nice location.
kindness of the staff, good location
Hotel Mendez Nunez is in a very central location in Lugo, very close to the wall, very close to the cathedral and very close to good eating and pubs. The hotel staff are very helpful. There are very good women's clothing stores that offer specialty items at reasonable prices. We specially liked the bakery close to the hotel where we had tea and bought a whole cake "tarta de santiago" where the server, served us half of the cake and sent the other half with us on our way. It was unfortunate that it rained when we were there and we only had one day to be in Lugo, however we made it up by eating good tapas and drinking cider at a place close to the cathedral.
The Hotel was in good condition and have friendly personal, the breakfast was amazing ! less English knowings
City center in just a few miles, jacuzzi, pool and sauna for free are great values for a one night stay after long driving. No.
The hotel staff were pleasant and welcoming. On the day of departure there was a problem with the electronic lock on our door and following breakfast we could not get into our room. It took the staff two hours to solve this problem. Finally someone had to climb through our window which luckily we had left open. Had the window not been open I am not sure how long we would have been delayed. This accounts for the fair rating on hotel staff.
The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The staff didnt speak english but were all polite, welcoming and helpful. My three course meal was served together on one plate! Very strange.
the 50% discount location
Leisure trip to Lugo, eg., Roman Wall, Cathedral, Municipal Museum. No
The staff was curtious and very helpful. We had two double rooms, which were very comfortalbe and clean. The bathroom was adequate in size and very clean. The shower had fabulous water pressure and plenty of hot water for a long shower. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to visit Lugo. It was a five minute car ride to town. No. We were satisfied with everything.
the location mostly,. and the rich buffet breakfast
A breakfast better !! Sometime ,at the bar, nobody to serve you .
Pleasant staff. The apartment arrangement with two bedrooms and kitchen/ living room suited us well as a couple with a grown up son. Nice to have bit of space. The garage was was very handy as would not like to park nearby. Area round about was a bit rundown. garage was accessed by lift which was a tight fit for our Galaxy, manoevering round the actual garage was even tighter. There was no restaurant as such but the attached cafe was useful. Breakfast seemed dear for limited range. We ate in our apartment.
Spacious room; helpful reception It should be clear tht it is an apartment (albeit without cooking gacilities) that you are renting The location is somewhat deceptive. : Altough very close to city centre, goint to town entails climbing a steep, tiring and ugly street; also, due to one way street system, getting to the hotel by car and without the help of Google and a gps must be quite an adventure.
large and well appointed bedroom and lounge, centrally situated, secure parking, polite and friendly staff
Good location near city Walls if a hill isn't a problem. Parking a bit tight in hotel garage but well worth taking. Bedroom plus sitting area spacious and comfortable. Breakfast good value.
Very good location for city centre. Secure parking especially when travelling by motorcycle, first class. Very spacious room /appartment, with all facillities.
The apartment was fully equipped giving the chance to cook. The hotel personnel was friendly and efficient, they promptly changed us to a non smoking room. The garage is small as well as the car lift that takes you there. However, this is great as parking in Lugo is extremely difficult.
Functional but not much Too clinical
Everything was more than expected! The parking inside of the hotel - littlebit awkward, better sayd clumsy or clumped.
Spacious suites / modern the lift and particularly the car park are extremly small - it was very difficult to park the car as the layout was very tight
It has a great location very near bus station and old city.
The hotel was very close to city center and the bus station. The service offered by the husa chain are very good. Antena , no matrimonial bed (they just put together 2 beds)
close to old town for sightseeing. parking was awalk away.
Great location. Good view from room.
Good location to Historic centre
The reception was welcoming. The hotel was perfectly clean. It was very comfortable. No. Everything was perfect.
Right next to bus station. Very good value for money.
Walked the Roman wall.
near the bus station- friendly staff- value for money
The wonderful and helpful owners of the hotel,The position of the Hotel
I've stayed before - beautiful rooms, spotlessly clean & very friendly staff. Can be noisy due to nearby construction. Not their fault!
Friendly staff. Hotel has recently been opened. Facilities were new and consistently top quality
I enjoyed a lovely stay at this hotel. The hotel a was a family Pazo (palace) and has been refurbished with care and beauty in the large airy rooms and public spaces. The staff gave excellent service and help Nothing, except some difficulties wih the Unesco excavations in the ancient walled city of Lugo. The staff understood these problems and were very helpful in parking and collecting our car
Very positive and attentive staff. Great position. Modern facilities.
Wonderful staff, excellent location Make sure you have detailed instructions for finding the hotel if coming by car. Staff were great once we located them. Very complex old walled city location.
outstanding value for money.classy and well appointed large room.best hotel room we have stayed in for a long time.
Excellent service and amenities in a beautiful restored building. This hotel is a mini parador . Will give a better overallimpression of the hotel once the restoration work surrounding the hotel is complete.
Staff were very hospitable. The location was excellent and the room was comfortable menu could have been more extensive
This place is fantastic. Old restored building and the suite we had was awesome. The value for money is perfect and the staff is very helpfull. Parking is just around the corner and after callling them it was easy to find. The location just inside the roman wall is also a big benefit for exploring the City of Lugo. The continental breakfast is good and the cafe next door is also very nice with a unique showing of collection items. Clear score of 10. Nothing at all. All positive.
Very clean hotel parking spaces to small. Hire car damaged in car park
Close to town that has many interesting and authentic bars and restaurants. Rooms were a bit tired looking , but clean. No tea/coffee making facilities in room.
Very helpful staff, great location Room was somewhat smallish, and the spa was closed on Sunday
Easy access and parking; helpful staff; convenience for city centre/restaurants; value for money no
Extremely noisy hotel - don't go here unless you are a heavy sleeper
Great location, nice rooms
To visit Lugo and to travel to the local countryside and villages
It's not clear when booking that the facilities are at extra cost.
Friendly, helpful staff. Very spacious room, although we were only in a Standard room. They had a 30 euro Special meal deal for 2, but the actual cost was 34, because they automatically charged you 4 euros for the bread and salad dressing!!!
Location in the remains of an old castle, friendly helpful staff and overall feeling of luxury combined to create a sense of well being. The town itself is not exciting or historic but there is a very nice river walk. Laura on reception went well above and beyond the call of duty to make us feel welcome & look after us (maybe we reminded her of her grandparents) nothing
The staff friendliness and helfpulness.
a short but lovely stay at vilalba. very comfortable. a beautiful town. small complaint, beds a bit hard.
It was the first time I stayed in a Parador. It was beautiful and the room was really one of the most comfortable we experienced in Spain. Central location was most convenient for us.
The staff were very attentive and we had a lovely room & great food Nothing
It was a very luxurious Parador experience....we loved it.
We did not spend much time in the hotel as we had a wedding to attend. However the building was very beautiful and the rooms were lovely. None
Nice clean hotel. Quite place to be. Very good parking area and nice walks direct nect to the hotel. No, the hotel is great. Very good place to stay even for more then one day.
Large room with excellent bathroom No swimming pool
Good ratio price/quality.
very comfortable and quite
very much geared towards the spa health club - hard floor surfaces meant that you could hear the guests in both adjoining rooms - air con. did not work - hotel is very remote and sat navs can not find it, in fact most of the locals in the town some 8k away do not know where it is - better signposting is called for. took us over 1hr to find it. would suit recluse travelers who do not mind spending €26.00 for a swim.
The rooms are quite big and comfortable.
The room was very spacious and the beds were wide. The spa was very well organised and the staff friendly. It was not possible to register at the reception with my "tarjeta de residencia" and we had to use the DNI of my wife. It was probably due to the fact that the tarjeta has a letter in the first position and the DNI aq number.
This is a modern and comfortable hotel with excellent facilities There is very little written information available in English. I had to ask for spa prices. There was a golf course, but I've no idea of the cost of a round. The site also has some history behind it, but there was no information in English to guide us.
Large luxury hotel set in extensive grouds just outside of a quite attractive and friendly town. Very pricey spa available on site. Friendly, helpful, English-speaking staff. Sumptuous room with beautiful woodland outlook. Phenomenal buffet breakfast. Great value for money for accomodation of this calibre. The spa facilities were enticing but very expensive.
The hotel has everything. Tranquil setting, private wood, golf, balneario, well signposted so easy to find. Central for visits to Coruña and Santiago. Friendly staff, immpecably clean, great chef. Nothing. Close to perfection as possible.
The bed and the breakfast. Very comfortable. A little bit difficult to reach.
golf course couldn't use sauna as part of thermal club
It was comfortable clean and friendly. Easy to book, and just what we needed.
Cheap, nice room, clotheswashiong facilities, good food A bit cold in autumn, should be possible to put on some heat
After spending 7 hours walking in the driving rain the hot shower and warm room was so welcoming. The bathroom smelt damp and could do with a little tlc.
No guidance given to guests departing early to have consideration for those who were not doing so.Not clear when the pool was available.
The friendly staff, easy to find, as i was walking the Canino de Santiago and it was right on the trail, pleasent surroundings, just really good throughtout.
Staff at reception excellent---- Would have liked breakfast earlier----cool drinks dispenser in lobby would have been nice
Rustique atmosphere, friendly staff, good food
Ideally situated for the camino
very friendly staff - clean rooms - only a short walk to the town wall (Unesco cultural heritage) - park garage - always like to return
Good location near center of town. Possibility to park car under building. Friendly staff. Internet worked with a cable. Nice cafetaria under hotel. We had the appartment. There was almost no kitchen equipment and furniture. No "cosy" atmosphere. In the bedroom there was no window with direct light.
The quiet ambience indoor probably derived from a low occupation level. But this matter is not frequent on saturday of August in Spain
muy agradable, cerca del casco viejo (200 m de la muralla), limpio Nice hotel very close to the old town (200 m from the roman walls), clean
The hotel was very clean, the staff were friendly and helpful and the manager called Pedro was extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome. There was not any kitchen utensils in the kitchen of the apartment and a shelve in the bathroom for my toiletries would of been useful.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and the cost was very good value. It was rather noisy, but that was unavoidable given its location.
staff were extra helpful and lovely and friendly, lift available to rooms
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, particuarly one English speaking receptionist.
The care and concern expressed by the manager. He even drove out in front of us in his car as we left, to make sure that we found petrol and the right road out of Lugo! Not easy to find in the one way streets of a strange town. Sat-nav did not help much in this case as it did not seem to be up to date.
Nice staff Says on the website it's 1 km out of central Lugo -- but, it is definitely more like several ... when we asked at the front desk, the lady conceded that we were right. Room was clean but basic. Wifi worked in lounge but not in rooms.
A good playground. Nice staff. Economic dinner.
Rather noisy - Poor sound isolation in room
Toilet seat broken, lights inadequate, cafeteria had no food, 5 km from centre but advertises 1 km, staff drinking on duty, noisy with football team staying.
