Good location and easy to find
restaurant, food was great. beds were comfortable, reception very helpful. think the walls in the rooms "white rough cast" finish didnt do the decor justice as the hotel is very nice for short stay. Annoying flies in the dining area.
The new beds are extremely comfortable. The new showers are superb! The fruit at breakfast time was not very fresh.....a disappointing experience.
The room had two side-by-side twin fold out beds, which were very good for our children. Good value for the money if you're looking for a place to stay along the highway. We receive a good recommendation for a restaurant close to the hotel.
Price of the room, the cleanliness, the family room at no extra cost, the free breakfast for the kids No
The hotel is new and very nice. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a good night's sleep at an affordable rate. There was plenty of room for our family of 4. The hotel is probably less than a kilometer from the Lorraine US WWII military cemetary, which is one of the most beautiful and moving places I've ever been. Saint Avold is a charming town and we thoroughly enjoyed the Louisianna restaurant. If you are looking for a quaint hotel with a lot of charm. This is not the place for you.
Easy to find and secure. The restaurant was good. Breakfast is very expensive at 14 euros.
for a short trip or stopover this hotel was perfect. good parking facilities, restaurant onsite (although a little over-priced) kind staff who could speak good english for us non-french speakers! and thoughful gift for the childeren when we arrived..although we stayed again two weeks later and got the same gift!! but not complaining! overall would use this hotel again for sure. not really any problems at all
welcoming staff, good breakfast, green area bedroom small for 4 people
Very convenient for the French motorway network on the outskirts of St Avold. There are spacious, well cared for grounds surrounding the accommodation. The range of food & pricing was poor in comparison to local restaurants/other hotel chains.
Clean and friendly. Very convenient for motorway. Simple rooms, doubles and large enough.Good price. One downfall was only one bath size towel and one hand towel in the room.
Restaurant quality was better than expected. Matress had hollow shape.
This is the third time we have stayed at the hotel. We look forward to staying here again in 2011. Staff were just great. Food excellent. Well done
Again first class with the staff very helpful and friendly. Look forward to returning next year.
close to the motorway, but not a motorway hotel - this was a convenience stop and for a 2 star hotel met the requirement the matresses and room smelled of tobacco
Convenient location Not walking distance to town
Very clean, plenty hot water, great bathroom and comfortable facilities overall. Restaurant nearby.
The reception staff were very helpful. The service in the restaurant.
easy to locate, good to have a ground floor unit
The attached restaurant is quite good. The rooms stank of cigarette smoke, our clothes reeked of smoke, and we are non smokers. The mattresses would have benefited from the occasional turn over, but sadly it was too late for the ones we were on.. Very bad. The bathrooms were dirty. A bit of bleach once in a while gets rid of mould.
David the owner makes you feel very welcome and if you wish you can join him at his table for dinner, which is excellently cooked by his wife using produce from the estate or local suppliers (delicious!) Our room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel has lots of charm and is in a beautiful location
We liked everything...The atmosphere surrounding the Chateau was graceful and welcoming, and the grounds were a feast for the eyes . Rooms were spotless & very comfortable, and the hosts immediately made us feel at home, plus, the home-made gourmet specialties were wonderful. Will most definetly go back for a longer stay.
The Chateau is a prime example of elegant shabby chic. It is more of a private home than a hotel. Our host is very gracious and helpful. He sent us to probably one of the most unpretentious and fabulously delicious restaurants for dinner just a few kilometer's away. Our room and bed were comfortable. Lorraine is a beautiful and very rural part of France fortunately not as touristy as Alsace. Perfect place for those who want to hike or bike. If you are looking for a wonderful truly french experience go to this Chateau! Breakfast was only bread and coffee. You could pay a bit more for eggs and ham but need to tell the host the night before.
The hosts were friendly and helpful. They made us feel right at home in their B&B which is really a very large, old chateau with an intriguing history. No. But some people might find it a little remote.
nice staff, clean room, free parking wifi a bit difficoult
We reserved a four person family room and got a nice double room consisting two separate rooms. The restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was average. We did not find a place to sit outside and drink a beer anywhere rin the town.
Quite country side. Small vilage. A fuw nice byiding.
