Friendly staff and good food. We really enjoyed our stay at the Holcombe Inn. The only negative thing I have to say (and this is only applicable to families with young children) is dinner is not served until 7pm. This proved to be a little too late for our youngsters so I would advise you bear this in mind and eat out before you return for the evening. The food however was lovely and if you have older children or no chlidren with you the later start won't be a problem.
Staff helpfull and friendly, quiet relaxing and ease of access to surounding area. Menue's excellent good quality food and wine.
Lovely location, friendly staff, fantastic food and service, large spacious room. Our 8 month old daughter was well catered for. N/A
Excellent food and staff. I thought the staff were fantastic. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone None
Food was excellent No staff available during the day when public house was shut, our friends arrived and were unable to access the building untill we arrived!. The rooms are very over priced, our windows did not shut properly.
The food was very good and reasonabily priced. The restaurant and bar itself were pleasantly presented. Nice atmosphere. Interior decoration of the room was in need of maintenance.
It was a lovely hotel, very old world charm,. service great food lovely and room very comfortable. very helpful for us as a family and just very nice relaxing break. no I found everything very well there.
the food was fantastic! the rooms were lovely and clean, and the staff couldnt have been more friendly (espcially with a 2 year old and an 8 month old - it helps!!)
food and service internet in rooms would be good
The food was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable, but the decor is rather garish with some things rather shoddy - mirror not attached to the wall and liable to fall (a problem when you have a toddler!), etc.
Peta and her husband were wonderfully welcoming and even the spaniel Penny made a fuss of us as soon as we arrived. The bar is smart with good food, yet retains the comfortable air of a country pub. We felt at home there. The twin room is cramped and so the only chair is wedged between the wardrobe and the end of one of the beds.
The room was much better than it looked in photographs, extremely modern, tidy & clean. The provisions for tea & coffee making were extremely generous and even included cookies
Friendly staff and owners, tasty food, good location
Excellent foood, comfortable beds, sensitive service, very satisfied overall. None
None all excellent None
The food was excellent, each meal was spectacular to look at and delightfully tasty.
Everything was top notch. Food, accomodation, service, location and ambience of the Vobster will be difficult to beat in a similar setting. Nothing.
Absolutely everything, the hotel staff were friendly, helpful, polite. The hotel itself is fantastic, the stay not long enough!!
The setting was beautiful and I really liked the gym. The staff were all very friendly and the room was comfortable and well-designed. Thought it was very cheeky that you added £24 for breakfast that I didn't eat be 'default'. The reason I specifically took a room without breakfast is because I was going out for a meal with family nearby. Also it was very hard to reach reception by telephone - once I waited a full ten minutes.
Helpfulness and friendliness of staff of the staff I did not like the way the gentleman in the restaurant (we assumed the manager) barged in front of me to reprimand the duty hostess. We had observed her for at least 30 minutes and had commented to each other on the excellent job she was doing as the restaurant was becoming busier. Disappointed the cleaner was in our room as we returned from breakfast.
The hotel & rooms were beautiful. The pool was nice & clean. The location was lovely. I was not able to benefit fully from the use of the pool with my children due to time restrictions. I did not find the staff easy to talk to. The childrens menu for my stay was not available. I had a leaking tap in my room. I did not think paying an extra £40 for the tea/coffee & toiletries package was worthwhile.
Nice new stylish rooms, decent food Noise on Saturday night until 1am - avoid staying on Saturdays due to wedding receptions.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was up market & stylish. You could have walked about in designer, formal or leisure wear and no-one would have batted an eye. 100% for cleanliness. The food was excellent and catered for all tastes.
Staff were enthusiastic to help make our stay enjoyable New Hotel with a few teething problems, when all problems sorted out, this is a good hotel and I will definitely return The large ugly picture of a cow on bedroom wall (we covered this with a large bath towel) The safe was not secured to the wall (I could have carried this under my arm) For those that like bathroom privacy, the bathroom window into the bedroom may not be your thing Small wardrobe space to hang clothes for two people
the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was beautiful. The room was comfortable and well appointed. Another option for dining would be nice as well as a place to get snacks after hours.
we were only there for a very short night stay, so can not realistically comment.
Everything it was wonderful could not fault it.
The food was excellent and the staff were helpful at every turn You would probably need a car to stay here as Taxi's have to come from Bristol
Large, modern room. Beautifully finished. Simple and stylish. Spotlessly clean. Quiet. Large en-suite with amazing water pressure in a full-size shower. Lighting a little too subdued if you needed to work.
Excellent room and location. No hot water in the shower
Modern, comfortable food. Very good, well above average pub grub. Charming, helpful staff Lack of working telephone in room - but staff let me use their phone in bar, with no charge
Handy location for sightseeing around Somerset Over priced for a basic room without breakfast.
An excellent service, with first class accommodation and good food No
The room and all its facilities. The cleanliness, design and layout, the whole place was beautiful We felt that the staff were rushing us to have our meal to get cleaned up and the bar closed early at 10.50 without any notice. The menu was fabulous and we just wanted to enjoy it.
Lovely room - spacious modern and clean Day we stayed was unseasonally cold - would have been good if heating in room had been turned on when the room was made up as the room wasnt even warm until the middle of the night due to the high ceiling :-(
the room was beautiful and spacious on two floors.. It was a clean modern design which was highly stylish yet with an air of country comfort. The breakfast was served in the pub which was a really quaint traditional country inn. The receptionist stayed up until 2.30 to greet us as our plane was delayed. She was delightful.
There are like individual little houses with private parking just in front of your room door. So you have to carry your luggage about 3 yards... I had to leave hotel at 5am. I didint have to waste my time checking out: just left the card in the room, in the car outside the door and gone. Interior is stylish, beautiful cosy bar in front. Staff is very helpful and friendly.
Fast no fuss registration. Very friendly and helpful staff. No facility for any food earlier than 8am on Saturday. Consideration should be given to offering a packed breakfast and tea/coffee for early risers.
Made to feel very welcome on arrival. Everything was explained clearly to me. Clean, spacious, well maintained rooms. Only stayed for breakfast but this was of a very high standard None
close to Bristol Airport The lack of eating facilities, and the room was cold
Lovely room. Friendly staff and great breakfast!
We stayed in a well designed room. The proprietor spoilt us every morning with a very nice breakfast and ensured we had everything we wanted. This was perfect to relax away from city life. N/A
Friendly, helpful staff. Good location regarding wedding we were attending. Lovely big room, different in style than the usual double room.
The bed was comfortable. On arrival we were not expected. We were told on arrival they did not do dinner even although on the web site the menue was shown both as a set meal and al'acart. After travelling four hours we had to drive approx 2 miles to have a meal. Milton's Lodge is over priced for what it is and I would not reccomend it to anyone.
Proximity to airport was very good. Bed was extremely comfortable as well. Couldn't seem to get the heating working and with the large room it was a bit cold, would have been good if the room was warm before i checked in. Apart from that though the room and service was good.
The room was very tidy, spacious and with all creature comforts required. The lady that ran the guest house was very hospitable and could not have been more polite. Only one bad point stops this from being all round excellent; the inadequate shower facility which initally had enough water coming out of it to just about wet a baby's head although we just about got enough out of it! Admittedly we were only there for one night, but that should not matter. I think the owners should change the shower head or install a new more powerful shower altogether.
excellent room, fab facilities in bedrooms, very very comfy with homly feel no would have liked to stay longer
