10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host went out of his way to serve us breakfast very early due to our changed 5am departure. Home was spic and span. Exterior of the house is very decieving as the interior is modern and comfortable.
Cons: Nothing to note.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely Sicilian couple who made us very welcome. Light , airy clean room with excellent bathroom. Despite language barrier, with the help of google translate we got along very well. Excellent breakfast .
Cons: Nothing to dislike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of Casa Alba is excellent, especially if you're driving. It was easy to find parking on the street in front of the B&B or just around the corner, and you're within walking distance of all of the sights of Caltagirone. The rooms are lovely, and the breakfasts were fantastic, featuring an abundance of local specialties. The proprietors were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at Casa Alba two years ago for five nights. We knew that there was no other place that we would want to stay on our return for a 7 night stay. Mr. and Mrs. Alba are extremely hospitable. It is obvious they want their guests to be comfortable and to enjoy their stay. The rooms are immaculate. We travel extensively and the breakfast at Casa Alba cannot be surpassed. Mr. Alba brings fresh pastries from the best pastry chefs in town. Mr. and Mrs. Alba are also helpful with tourist information and arranging shuttle service. For a stay in Caltagirone or anywhere near Caltagirone, Casa Alba is definitely the place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hospitality - really took good care of us. Lovely breakfast. Caltagirone is a nice place to stay. 10/10

Pros: Beautiful rooms best in Sicily!. Owners use google translate as they do not speak english. fresh cooked eggs for breakfast. Parked in street - Free. Easy walking to centre of city.
Cons: No fresh bread so owner went out to get some.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were excellent ..collecting me from the out of the way bus station and delivering me back as I moved on...they did not speak English but we communicated through google translation site...roof top terrace for relaxing after a busy day..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was by far the cleanest B&B/hotel we have stayed in.It absolutely endorses their maxim “arrive as a guest and stay as a friend”. The breakfast was delivered with care and celebrates the hosts Sicilian heritage. The exterior is an unassuming building but turned out to be a pleasure once inside.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was delightful and breakfast on the little patio outside the shop was delicious. We had a choice of homemade cakes, eggs, jams etc. Roberta and her father were great hosts. The parking is a few minutes walk away but they gave excellent instructions beforehand and were looking out for us when we arrived. The location is ideal, being right on the tiled staircase.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room, perfectly positioned in town.
Cons: Nothing -it really was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Roberta and her family were excellent in communicating with us days before our visit. They helped us find free parking, greeted us with beverages, gave us several personalized recommendations for food and ceramique shopping, and served an AMAZING homemade breakfast complete with delicious pastries, cappuccino, and fresh juices. We felt like we were in a 5 star hotel with the care they took and attention to detail, and at the same time made us feel like family. Beautiful room, cute gift shop, perfect location right off the Scala Santa Maria del Monte. If I ever come back to Caltagirone I won't stay anywhere else!
Cons: I would have liked to stay longer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was wonderful - right off the famous Caltagirone steps and the hosts were so warm and welcoming and super helpful! From recommendations on where to eat, what to see, where to buy ceramics and even the recipe for their amazing almond granita!! The room and amenities were as pictured, with comfortable beds and a great sized room! The breakfast was simply wonderful! A great selection of meats and cheeses, home made jams, fresh pastries and home made local cakes, served with great coffee and a smile! Who could ask for more!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about our stay was incredible! Roberta welcomed us with drinks and a thorough explanation of the facilities as well as explaining the sites. The rooms were gorgeous and so clean and impeccable. Breakfast was AMAZING! My kids and husband all agreed this was the best stay we had throughout our trip to Sicily!
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious, tasteful, comfortable, clean and quiet room. Gracious, informative and friendly hosts. Excellent, homemade pastries, breads and jams for breakfast and fresh squeezed juice. Everything about this small B&B was thoughtfully planned and executed.
Cons: Only one suggestion for improvement—it would be nice to have a good bedside reading light. Visitors do need to be aware that the property is accessed by stairs.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Delicious - great selection, lovely café and lovely staff
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality and helpfulness of the owners was outstanding. Giuseppe and Roberta could not have been more delightful and attentive. The breakfasts were a delightful mix of homemade and freshly resourced produce and we had to be very careful not to eat too much. The double room was very comfortable and spacious. It was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, so our travel kettle was stored away for a change. The bed was very large and comfortable, although I found the rubberised mattress protector made me sweat a lot as it did not breathe. This was the only accommodation we stayed at in Sicily that used this kind of mattress protector.
Cons: This is not an adverse comment for the owners but you have to be fit to stay at this B & B. It is located at about step 96 of the 142 steps of the Santa Maria del Monte stairway and all the good restaurants for dinner, and most of the historical attractions of Caltagirone, are down the stairway in the lower part of the town. Also, if you arrive by car, there is no parking near the B & B. It is a 350 m walk from the nearest car park and therefore a long drag for your suitcases.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I think this is probably one of the best B&Bs I have stayed in. We were welcomed by the owners and seated at a lovely table outside their café, Il Dito e La Luna, and brought complimentary water and granita (sorbet) while they took our bags to our room. Our accommodation was over two floors with a bedroom and bathroom on the first floor and comfortable lounge on the lower floor. We had two balconies overlooking the Santa Maria del Monte steps, with views across the town and countryside. As we had happened to arrive on the day of festival, we had spectacular views of the display of candles on the Santa Maria del Monte steps and the firework display. Breakfast was a delight; local produce, homemade bread, three types of cheese, ham, traditional pastries, fresh coffee, juice, locally grown fruit.
Cons: We really didn't want to leave
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the location, the staff, the room, the brakfast - everything was very good! we would book again.
Cons: one small thing; they used a lot of airparfume which i personally don’t like.. less is more sometimes :)

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Kindness of the owner. Very comfortable room. Breakfast with local pastries (handmade, special for Easter). For traveller with mid-size cars: it's better to park just outside the historical center (in viale Regina Elena)
Cons: Only little suggestions that dont' change the very good experience: some local salted foods for breakfast - a small table in room for the pc (but probably included in superior rooms).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great B&B in this fantastic ceramic town. Very friendly host, on hand all the time. Good parking for bikes, great tip for eating close-by (fantastic meal in nearby restaurant), good breakfast with dietary request taken into account, big room with fantastic lighting (nice to have lots of it).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was confortable and a winderful place! The owner were very nice and helped us with tips and parking. Take care if you come by car, as the streets are very narrow. You can make it to the hotel only with a very small car.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our room was very nice furnished and clean. We were very satisfied with the all service, from the beginning with a friendly welcome as well as with tasty breakfast. The location is good, it's just a few minutes from the center and there are also free parking places in front of the house.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The welcome from Alessandro and his family was outstanding, they really tried hard to meet our every little wish. The rooms were comfortable and spacious (not modern and trendy, but practical and clean). The rooms had shutters which shut out the light making the room dark for sleep, which we very much appreciated. The location is brilliant, just a few minutes walk from everything in the centre of Caltagirone including some great restaurants pointed out to us by Alessandoro. The streets are narrow, best to come with a Fiat 500 and not a massive 4x4! We were able each evening to park close by on the street for free.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very lovely building in the heart of the town. Rooms in excellent condition. Central heating worked on cold evenings. Great shower. Extremely comfortable bed.
Cons: Perhaps less sweet things such as biscuits for breakfast - replace them with fruit. Croissants were excellent and so was fresh coffee but then i would expect nothing less in Sicily!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great croissants and home made mother's biscuits. Charming host. Great location.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nestled in the heart of the historical center in a XVI century. Spacy, super clean, recently refurbished. Quality of the room and appliances are comperable to a 3-4 stars hotel. Nice breakfast and above all, the special touch of Alessandro, the owner, very kind and super helpful providing all information a tourist needs. Definitely above expectations!
Cons: Nothing. Everything was amazing, including the cost!

Pros: Concetto, the owner, did everything possible to make our stay special. He waited on us hand and foot. We ate dinner with him and his friends 2 of our 3 nights. The second of the 2 nights was my husband's birthday and Concetto made it extra special. He even had a special cake for him. The room was spacious and there were several thoughtful touches. Everything about the stay was exceptional.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovelyvwinery/agriturismo with excellent accommodations and most entertaining and welcoming owner and host who made one feel at home, located in a bucolic location in the countryside, yet not too far from town. Perfect location to rest for a few days to explore the nearby area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nanfro is exceptional. Travelling with my sister, there was nothing not to love about the place. The property is stunning and magnificently quiet away from the city bustle, yet close enough to drive to Caltogirone in a short time. Opening the windows in the morning to the beautiful morning air, listening to the pickers chatting as the were harvesting the grapes was quite surreal. Concetto the host, son Enrico, Giusi and the rest of the team made us feel so welcome. Breakfast was out of this world, and my sister who is coeliac commented that the bread and pastry were the best gluten free she's ever had. We were lucky enough to share an evening meal with Concetto and some other guests. Such a wonderful evening, a highlight of our trip. And the Nanfro wines are exceptional and organic. You won't be disappointed and remember to buy some wine as well
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent

He showed us the wine procedure facility , it was very interesting proceed. We had a great stay!! Thank you so much. We booked Delux room , we stayed in , slept so well . Pros: What an unexpected surprise ! Newly remodeled baths, nicely decorated, very friendly hostess. Beautiful views ( we had the top floor apt, 2 bedrooms and kitchen). Super clean and the breakfast was amazing, lots of freshly baked sweets and fruit served in a darling rooftop terrace-also with gorgeous views! Just steps from the famous tiled steps and plaza.
Cons: This isn't really a dislike but a FYI, but there is no elevator and some of the rooms will require walking up a few flights of steps- but worth it for the view!

Pros: Owner was fantastic and made a beautiful breakfast Location was very central and the double glazing helped with keeping out the noise
Cons: Nothing!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The owner, Tano, was wonderful. Very welcoming and he transported our bags to our rental car for free. The accommodation was clean with a lovely view.
Cons: We hadn't realised how many steps there were! This is definitely not an accommodation for people with any issues with walking. Breakfast was plentiful but very much on the sweet side - many cakes.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great view. Lovely breakfasts. Friendly host and helpful staff
Cons: The steps are always going to be hard work! We were led to believe our room had a panoramic terrace, but it had a window and side balcony. The terrace was upstairs off the kitchen and we had breakfast there - which was lovely too.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very kind host with good English who lives in the same building. Nice breakfast served at the roof terrace with a stunning view..)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great view! Comfy room and even robes and slippers! Fruit on arrival. Great breakfast. Friendly and knowledgeable hosts. Right on “the staircase!”
Cons: Nothing!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous roof top terrace for the breakfast. Huge breakfast, nice rooms. Right next to the famous stairs.
Cons: Parking is bit difficult, especially with a big car, as the alleies are very narrow.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location by the famous steps. Excellent breakfast on the terrace - Gaetano and his wife are generous hosts and greeted us with almond milk and cake, and brought a bowl of fruit to our room. The view from our room.
Cons: Nothing. If coming by car you have to park at the top of the Scala and walk down, and leave heavy bags in the car, but parking was easy, and the location of the B&B made it worth it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location --on the staircase!-- was my priority, and we were even more delighted to have the view of ceramic-topped duomo! Beautiful! The BnB was decorated nicely, and the breakfast view and the owner's chit chat about the town was terrific. The bed was a little hard for me, but the decor and bathroom made the room so luxurious feeling.
Cons: The shower was a little slow to drain.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fairly standard B&B type, and included fresh fruit. Served on the balcony with possibly the best view in town, it could not be bettered. The location was stunning, right on the most iconic feature of the town - the amazing staircase adorned with ceramic tiles on every step and hundreds of potted flowers.
Cons: My SatNav could not find it (two different Apps) so it would have been helpful to give a single sentence direction to find the property, such as "...on the left hand side of the steps, at approximately step no 80 from the bottom". [This is a guess - the proprietor would know the actual number. It is unlikely that anyone would deliberately walk up 80 steps with baggage, but it would at least give a clue as to how to find it! It took us 2 hours!] The shower was blocked and not noticing the rising water level, caused a small flood. This suddenly resolved spontaneously, so probably caused by paper or plastic left in the shower by a previous user.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation was a little cramped but that was part of the charm of staying in a historic house. The host was excellent in helping us get settled and explaining to us the history of the area. The accommodation was so well located right on the famous steps The breakfast was memorable looking out over the city
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Having the full appartement + the view of the terrace for breakfast. Food was good!
Cons: Having to carry the luggage in the steps from the road.

Pros: The owners were very friendly and made us feel at home straight away. Breakfast and dinner were always delicious and super fresh. Their pets are adorable and friendly especially lilly and romeo. We definitely recommend this place for relaxation as it was like we were in heaven.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything, fantastic breakfast, one of the best typical Sicilian dinners offered, great long pool, most charming rooms, really friendly staff, it clearly shows they put all their love and energy into making sure your stay is a memorable one.
Cons: The tv did not work too well and I assume it was because of the bad weather. But watching tv was not something we really cared to do in such a lovely resort so to be fair we didn’t mention it to the staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owner who was an exceptional cook
Cons: I liked everything
8.8 Excellent
Pros: we were welcomed as good friends, nothing was too much to ask for. Note this property does not have a restaurant, but the hosts will cook you an excellent meal if you require one. This is really great as the property is quite far from any restaurant. The food offered is excellent, if a little pricey. The pool is really brilliant and the cultural information plentiful. There is a cosmfortable lounge to use as well as lovely outdoor spaces. The breakfast is a sumptuous feast, quite amazing! You certainly get a top class stay at this property.
Cons: The property is remote and without Google map, probably quite hard to find. Try to arrive before dark. You cannot get from the pool to the shower without walking through grass and earth, so it is difficult not to take mud into the bedroom. This could easily be rectified with a small tiled path, meanwhile leave your flip flops by the bedroom door..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the delicious home cooked meals and all the homemade jams and honey!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Carmelo is a perfect host. He welcomes you at his home as one of his long time friends. The atmosphere is really charming, all the spaces - common and private - have been furnished with very relaxing colors and natural materials. Your room has a private entrance, so you have all the freedom you want. It is spacious and very comfortable. The pool is really nice and well maintained. The breakfast offers you a wide variety of typical Sicilian food as well as those usually served for the intercontinental one. We were really sorry to leave this place but for sure we come back soon.
Cons: Nothing at all

Pros: The hospitality of these people is amazing! Idyllic location but a car is a must. Our children loved the playground, animals and pony ride.
Cons: The choice at breakfast could be better
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a substantial establishment which runs weddings and parties at weekends - for c 200 guests. So 4 of us midweek was interesting - outnumbered by staff and very well looked after by them. Evening meals were generous and much more convenient than a long drive along uncertain roads into town. Do your research on directions when you arrive - easy to not find it. Best to stay as we did for 3 nights to get feel of countryside.
Cons: Shower in room was small
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was very secluded and tranquil. We were very well taken care of by the staff and owners of the property, who were very accommodating and catered to all requests with a smile. Our 1 yr old was also very well taken care of at the property.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptionally friendly warm hospitality
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and really big rooms and a really friendly and helpful owner. Great breakfast in the bar on the central square (which is hexagonal by the way, as is all of the inner town). The owner even drove us to the bus and when we missed said bus (because it was too early, not because we were too late) he drove us to the next bus station.

6.8 Good
Pros: Good location and street parking very close. Responsive to requests which was good as I asked for a kettle and to change rooms. Great breakfast and a good walk to see the sights.
Cons: Wifi had a problem and was not working. They were apologetic and I think it was a system error not theirs. But for a solo traveller this was a bit concerning for me. I didn’t like being out of touch with family and friends. It seemed deserted and I was not sure if I was alone in the property or not.

Pros: the location was amazing, the room was very spacious and clean.
Cons: The restaurant had very limited options all of whom were not worth the price(2 plates of pasta and one plate with cheese and salami no drinks 38€) and there was a big delay between the order and the arrival of the dishes. During breakfast although the restaurant was empty they didnt let us seat outside to enjoy the view.

Pros: The food and hospitality were excellent. The property caters also for gluten intolerant guests. This is an ideal place for those who would like to relax in the countryside. This was our third visit to the property.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel, quiet location - a car is a must. It was mid-March and quite chilly when the sun went down at night so it was very nice to come back to a lovely warm room. The owners were extremely pleasant, helpful and kind, we were given fruit to take on our travels. Breakfast was a really good start to the day, so much so that we rarely needed lunch, it consisted of fresh fruit; bread to toast; croissants; cheese; cooked meats; yoghurt; fruit juice; selection of home made jams; and cake. All very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here - thank you.

Pros: Hosts were wonderful and accommodating in every way possible. Pool was fabulous. Food and wines were good. Rooms we're comfortable.
Cons: The villa is a little 'tired'. Facilities are not quite what's advertised, although hosts did always try their best. It feels like they can use some much needed help. Location is a little out of the way too... a shame really, as this place has so much potential. Can only imagine what it must have been like 10+ years ago.

Pros: The hotel was more like a little house all to ourselves. The bedroom is comfy and the bathroom modern and clean with good facilities. The place is big and open. The owner was very friendly and helped us with maps and advice, and also restaurant recommendations too. It's best to park in one of the free carparks on the outskirts and walk to the hotel (we parked on Via Circonvallazone/via Filippo Neri where there is a large carpark). The hotel is located in a good area for access to the famous staircase and plenty of restaurants.
Cons: Make sure to call the owner a little bit in advance of your arrival so that they will be there to meet you.

Pros: Very quiet, and extremely clean. Do not judge the outside, because the interior is quite upscale and comfy!

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is in a perfect location looking over to a beautiful baroque church in a small square. The owner’s wife cooked a delicious and substantial dinner. Caltagirone has superb architecture with many lovely baroque churches off old narrow streets. I think it is an undiscovered gem off the beaten track and I prefer it to Noto which is over restored and like a stage setting.
Cons: Nothing as it was perfect.

I have enjoyed my 17 days stay very much indeed, Gualtiero Camere & Suite is a very good value for the money and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
Cons: Quite frankly I liked everything about the place including walking the stairs, as there is no lift (which may be an obstacle to some older guests) , but my luggage was taken care of by the very thoughtful owner Mr Guiseppe.
