With a stay at Los Palmitos Hospedería Rural in Nijar, you'll be a 1-minute drive from Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park and 6 minutes from San Jose Beach. Featured amenities include luggage storage and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very dedicated staff. Excellent breakfast. Beds are very comfortable and the small apartment was very practical.
Pros: the kindness, breakfast was fantastic
Cons: I felt like home, splendid location, quit and great views
Pros: The staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. We also enjoyed playing ping pong, padels and using the swimming pool and I absolutely loved having cats around. My partner enjoyed reading a book about the area from their small library.
Cons: One evening was raining so we didn't want to get out to a restaurant but unfortunately the hotel didn't serve the food. Could be nice to have some simple tapas available but it's not a big issue as there is a very nice restaurant 5 mins away by car.
Pros: Hospederia Los Palmitos was more than we expected in the area of Cabo de Gata. It was just outside Pozo de Frailes, which is probably the best place to stay in the natural park - in the middle of everything, but keeping an authentic vibe and a relaxing atmosphere, as opposed to more touristy villages right on the coast. The place has a pool, a tennis court and many shady places to relax on its grounds or simply enjoy the unique views. We even fell asleep outside! The breakfast was rich and the staff was very friendly, as well as the cats of the place :) Don't think twice, it's a perfect place to stay in Cabo de Gata.
Cons: The double room was a bit tight and humid, but luckily you can extend anywhere in the large area outside.
Pros: The breakfast was the best thing of the whole stay! Really generous and great quality.
Cons: It is next to the road and you hear the cars passing all night long. You have to sleep with the windows closed in summer (still hear it regardless) and thank God they have AC. The decoration is very old. Water isn’t drinkable.
Pros: Very nice people very helpfull. Nice loc ation. One of best place in this area. Highly recommended
Pros: Fantastic views, nice staff
9.1 Excellent (240 reviews)
Pros: Lovely property, a couple of miles from the beach resort of Agua Amarga. Consists of several small, single level buildings surrounded by beautiful gardens and open countryside, with a nice pool. Very comfortable room with small patio. We stayed 1 night and had dinner on the outdoor patio, very nice food and wine. Very peaceful location.
Pros: Beautiful gardens and location. Lots of places to sit and relax. Would recommend a stay of a few days rather than just overnight
Cons: Breakfast not very exciting
Pros: The landscape from the terrace of our room was awesome. The "cortijo" is furnished with very good taste and staff is very helpfull and kind.
Pros: It's truly an amazing place. We would recommend it and totally be back again. The staff of the Cortijo goes above and beyond to meet your needs and are very accommodating! We spent three days at the Cortijo and had dinner there twice at the pink patio because it was so cozy and welcoming. Our superior room had views to the surroundings and we enjoyed our little terrace very much. We actually liked that the swimming pool is slightly removed from the main building because it gives you even more privacy and creates a very relaxing spot.
Cons: It was all great!
Pros: the best rural hotel in Andalusia
Pros: Poor access down narrow windy lane. Bit too rustica. Friendly host keen to please. Lights in the bedroom not bright enough to read by or in the bathroom to put on your make up. Quite cold except in bed. Evening meal was very good. Generous with the wine and tapas when we arrived.
Cons: Too rustic. Quite expensive for what it was. Access road narrow and in parts unpacked and bumpy.
Pros: Good choice for breakfast, freshly made and as much as you wanted. Always served with a smile. The evening meals, if you choose to have them, traditional Spanish meals made from local ingredients by the owners mum, absolutely delicious and big...… Celeste is really helpful and all the staff were very pleasant. If you're looking for peace, rugged landscape, walks and rural charm in buckets we would definitely recommend La Alberca.
Cons: The only downside is the slightly hairy road up through the village and down into the casa itself, but that's all part of the adventure.
Pros: Nice staff and breakfast. Lots of cats around
Cons: There was a bad smell in our bathroomn. Since there was just a curtain and no door the smell was all over the place. Moreover there was no heating in the room and during our stay (April) it was still quite cold at night. Also, the restaurant was closed for dinner.
Pros: Rooms. Excellent shower. Comfortable bed and linen. Good meal.
Pros: Céleste the owner was very friendly and approachable, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast delicious. The location is excellent and especially its views of the valley.
Pros: Quirky accommodation - interesting and fun to locate down a rickety track - Celeste and her colleagues were extremely helpful and breakfast was very good.
Cons: The property was good / it’s just it was so hot and there was no mechanism for cooling down the room in the evening such as a fan etc. Also no bathroom door - just a curtain.
Pros: The peacefulness of the place , nothing to much trouble but left alone , owner Celeste very friendly and welcoming, a very relaxing break . The food was excellent.
Cons: The flys but that's what you get in the countryside.
Pros: A beautiful space set in a stunning location with amazing views over the Andalusian countryside. The location is restful and Celeste is the perfect host.
Cons: No problems at all!
Pros: Beautiful setting spacious rooms . This.was a piece of heaven . It's simplicity was its charm . The owner could not be more welcoming along with all there . The breakfast was amazing served by the rustic pool . Jams and marmalades home made .

Pros: Great quiet place. Simple but cozy and extremely clean. No issues whatsoever and Goyo was a great host who took time to show us around and have a little chat with us. I would definitely stay again here if given the chance.
Pros: Nice rural house in the mountains with a great garden and terracce. Friendly owner and fresh eggs from the chicken for breakfast
Pros: Incredible scenery and silence, very helpful and nice staff, a real treat
Pros: Peaceful “farmhouse” among olive groves and hills. Lovely terrace. Communal kitchen very well equipped. Very comfortable room and bed, with private bathroom. Optional breakfast great value. Close to beautiful drive/bike/walk options. Goyo was very helpful.
Cons: Everything was perfect.
Pros: The location in the nature and the beautiful house with kitchen and living room and plenty of space outside.
Pros: Everything, great host couple, great breakfast, great location ! We will surely come back in the future!
Pros: Diane is the ideal housekeeper to welcome you......Go and relax and enjoy the chat with the lady of the house
Pros: very good - cooked to order.
Pros: Nice, comfortable room in an old farmhouse run by a very pleasant woman from England. The room was right beside a very helpful kitchen, with a nice patio and a pool for the use of travelers. I went down to the local pub for supper and beers where I met a bunch of British expats who were helpful and very personable.
Cons: The location is a bit remote in some ways, but I enjoyed a great stay despite this.
Pros: The room was super clean and cosy. The shared kitchen of which all bedrooms could use is an excellent idea as we could cook etc without bothering the hosts downstairs. We also liked having our own separate entrance to the floor with bedrooms and kitchen.
Pros: Lovely property and welcoming hosts
When you stay at Hostal Restaurante Alba in Nijar, you'll be 5 minutes by foot from Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
Cons: No need to ask this question
Pros: Hotel was nice, clean with very comfortable bed...
Cons: Be warned there is nothing in this town except the spaghetti western locations, one hour there is enough, there is no phone signal or mobile data and the WiFi is diabolical... The restaurant was closed by 22.00 even tho they said it was open till 23.00, the bar across was also closed by then so be prepared... Only go there if you want to get off the grid...
Pros: I liked the standard of the accommodation for the price. Very good value for money.
Cons: The free WiFi just didn’t work and a number of my fellow guests said the same. In the morning the restaurant bellow the accommodation opens as a cafe and the noise from the people coming and going was ridiculous for 7am
Pros: Easy to find, nice clean room and helpful owner. Good place for a traveller to stay for a night.
Pros: Very nice staff, nice location in a village where spaghetti westerns were filmed, beautiful nature around
Pros: Everything it was very clean and I love the experience.
When you stay at Hospederia Montes in Nijar, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Mariposario de Níjar. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: The location for a night or two in Nijar town is unbeatable; the staff helpful.
Cons: Lumpy pillow; funny smell in bathroom; colour of bath water a little off-putting. Had to buy a cup for tooth-cleaning and to drink mineral water brought in from out-side
Pros: Room only
Pros: Helpful welcome. Central position.
Cons: Street parking (though in the event I was able to park reasonably close).
Pros: The place is basic and dimple but very comfortable and extremely clean. The owners are great people, always very friendly and kin to help you. This is been the second year that i went and I'm planning to go back.
Cons: Nothing, all great!
Pros: Very good location for visiting wildlife sites and hiking areas. The town is very easy to access and park in. The hotel staff were excellent.
Cons: The shower like most n Spain was in the bath which is not good if your balance is not good.
