We had a brilliant weekend rate. The hotel is a business hotel and our twin room was perfect for our needs. The breakfast was full self-service and plenty full. Leuven is a lovely place and the hotel is very well situated in town. We had a room out to the back which was blissfully quiet. The receptionist on duty was not very welcoming - she seemed to class us by the rate we were paying and the rucksacks on our backs. Or she was just not enjoying her job.
Close proximity to the university (central campus), shopping, restaurants without need for a car. The noise from the plaza area in front of the hotel--lasted all through the night and was quite loud at times.
The hotel is very central, all amenities are close by, the staff are very friendly and helpful
The rooms and location The staff who was working on sunday was very unfriendly
The hotel was extremely central. THe breakfast was very good. Rooms spacious and clean. All required facilities present. The hotel staff were extremely helpful
Location close to City is excelent. More pillows should be provided in rooms for the beds.
Quiet large room very close to centre
More noise from the corridor than usual
Good value for money, 61 Euros for twin room with nice breakfast buffet. Parking garage below hotel. Excellent location in city centre. Twin rooms were comfortable, but slightly too small as there were two queen size beds.
Location Breakfast is too expensive (18 € !)
The lovely grounds, freindly staff and the bathrobes
Room 106 comfortable though smaller than room we had on last visit. Bathroom possibly in need of upgrading. Bath tap a bit difficult to control and water emptying from bath very slow. Staff very friendly and helpful. See comment on bathroom.
Breakfast was excellent, staff attentive, homely atmosphere. Would like to have had tea and coffee making facilities in room.
Nice architecture, historical, convenient to city center.Good breakfast.
Nice furnishings and friendly people.
Nice overall impression. Considerig that the hotel was build in an old Monestary, the rooms very not very well isolated, causing big differnece in temperateure in diffierent parts of the room.
Wonderful services, location, facilities and staff. No. I have stayed there several times and it is always a pleasure to go back.
we found the staff courteous ,friendly and helpful. It was an excellent example of a small friendly and very comfortable hotel. One lack is the absence of a comfort tray ie tea/coffee tray in the room.
Hotel staff, garden Access to the parking
nice outside vieuw in breakfast room additional pay for sauna while i was in suite room, sometimes a litlle years 80 dated.
My stay was excellent. The hotel was clean, the food excellent, and the staff eager to serve.
The gardens were nice and itwas very quiet and peaceful.Breakfast room had a wonderful "old world " feeling. Very close to Begginshof for walking and exploring on foot. for a 4 star hotel the room was a little small but not a problem!
Please write at least 15 words
friendly staff no swimming pool, paid sauna
Very cosy and stylish at the same time. I love historical settings Could widen dinner menue
The very helpful reception staff who would do anything that you needed in a timely and professional manner. The breakfast was excellent. The room was slightly smaller than I expected, and not as clean as it should have been. Also, the rooms could do with some upgrading, e.g. mobile phones would interfere with the clock radio.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Also, most spoke very good English.
The breakfast was great. If that's a four star hotel they must be very small stars. The room was expensive and looked like it hadn't changed since the early 80s. The bathroom was older and not clean.
The quiet and well maintained grounds No, by far the best hotel we have stayed in in Belgium
I had an early train and it took me 5 minutes to get from my room on the sixth floor to the track. you really can't beat that. the closest laundromat was about an 8 minute walk away, did not have soap for sale and of course is not on the web. the staff was very helpful in giving directions but i would not consider this an ideal hotel for someone who is planning to do laundry.
Perfect location, near train station and access to downtown All was so small bathroom shower bed, the first person who extended the welcome was clearly uncomfortable speaking in French and made every effort possible to make it clear. There was not AC so we had to tolerate a hot room during the day. The disposition of the beds made impossible to walk around the room.
The best for me was the price! My son who is 13 enjoyed the breakfast. The rooms are very clean and it is very quiet to sleep at night.
A clean, modern hotel. Very friendly staff that spoke English.
Location Parking facilities
Cleanliness of hotel Getting to it from station, a bit of a trek with luggage and entrance not on main road but behind. But ok once u know where it is
location, helpful staff, comfortable room although pleased that wireless internet was available and reliable, it was quite expensive
NIce that they have their own restaurant, so I can work late but don't have to look for food. No.
warmth and friendleyness of everthink breakfast was cold water in pots for tea warm coffie cold plates that were used for hot food were very cold taking heat from the food
breakfast buffet no pool
It is nice. It is not so new.
the staff were so helpful and nice and the food was great in particular the breakfast.
Good restaurant. Easy access. Old rooms, old bathrooms. To be changed.
it was a very quiet time and therefore very peaceful which suited us very well
Very good breakfast fast checking in The hotel looked dated it needs a refresshing
Good hotel in a nice location, which was ideal for the place I was visiting.
Bathroom was tiny. ´No proper soap, shower gel and shampoo.
Excellent breakfast with fresh orange juice and anything to make it a English one. Rooms were able to be darkened and we checked out at 11h.10 without any problem (normally it's 10h.00)
(+): free internet; free parking; friendly staff; (-): rather poorly equiped rooms; the radiator did not heat the whole room; rather modest breakfast
Nice ambience, nice people at reception, the artie breakfastroom Reception looks kind of cheap at first glance Cleaning starts early and noisy (our room was next to 'Dienst'
The staff was exceptionally helpful and very friendly. They provided helpful and accurate information on the local transportation schedules and always came to the desk to greet us when we came in. The breakfast (included) was quite good, with many selections to choose from, and presided over by a lovely and friendly manager.
The perfect location neear the centre of Leuven
I found the staff to be very helpful. Breakfast was outstanding!
Thye staff were very helpful and friendly in this conveniently situated hotel Noise in the street by late- night party-goers
Very attractive dining room, excellent location
Comfortable room, friendly staff, central location. Excellent all-round
Very good position, hotel staff very helpful, good breakfast A disturbing smell from bathroom during the night. The rooms are not very well acoustic insulated, so you might hear what's happen with your neighbours.
Unusual split level was attractive. Would be nice if the third bed was on the lower level and the sofa upstairs to relax with TV. Everything was excellent
The clean and spacy rooms, and the very polite staff
i was passing though on a work project from france upto antwerp, must say this was one of the best hotels on the project and would also say that the steak we had was one of the best ever anywhere i had have .everything about this hotel was exellent and would recemend it and will also be visiting it again when passing leaving it and getting one not as good on my journey
The restaurant. Although the Booking.com confirmation showed Check-in from 15:00 though 'hotel' was actually closed at 15:00 but fortunately the owner saw us in the carpark. He said that check-in is now actually from 17:00.
The location was perfect for us. The staff were helpful and friendly and put themselves out to provide an early breakfast for us. Although the restaurant area was busy, the rooms were very quiet - you wouldn't have realised there were dozens of people eating close-by Rooms were a bit sparse but served a purpose. Provided one doesn't want to hang around for long in the room, they worked perfectly as a base.
Spacious room, kindness of the hosts, silence.
Spacious, nice breakfast, clean room. Staffs are friendly, speaks quite good English. Because it is in a (kind of) country side and face to small road, car noise in the night was a bit more than I estimated. Almost no bus is available (though it is mentioned in their website). No internet connection, even almost no mobile-phone network (my usb modem couldn't function).
Hotel easy to find on outskirts of Lier. Plenty parking, good breakfast and restaurant. Lier is handy for Antwerp (by train) and for several spa (sauna) (by car).centres
Very accommodating and friendly staff, fantastic restaurant with excellent service, rooms clean and fresh and well maintained. I reccommend it. There has to be something but cannot really think of anything at moment.
The breakfast was very good, the room was tidy and clean. For a business trip with very short time spent in the room, this was more than ok.
Proximity to Lier town, pleasant reception, easy parking. Room assigned to us (75, 73 yrs) was situated under the attic. Interior of attic partly unfinished (work in progress ?) For this reason we feel price discount would have been justified.
Electric volatage transducers from 220 to 110 V should be equipped all hotles in Booking.com.
Its location, price & cleanliness The building is quite old so the rooms were not as sound proof as in other hotels. This however was very understandable & was not too disrupting
Location Wireless internet is available but not free (as in hotel info), in fact rather expensive.
Very convenient. Clean modern room and bathroom with a view over the square. Good housekeeping of room each day. Breakfast good. Room would have benefitted from addition of bedside tables, individual bedside lamps, comfy chair(s), tea/coffee facilities. Tricky to find until you realise that it is in the popular De Klimop restaurant in SW corner of the square.
The location of the hotel was great - literally across the road from the train station and the breakfast was very good. I arrived at around 9 p.m. and the entrance of the hotel was not lit up so you have to walk right up to it to find it.
The room was very spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and fresh. The best thing about my stay was the breakfast, it was delicious.
The courtesie of the staff
good location and good rate smell in the room
The staff is pleasant, the room is clean, and the location is good.
This hotel is located just accross the street of the Railway station in Leuven. The value for money is good and the staff/owners are very friendly. Recommended!
The mix between very old and contemporary design!
Nice Hotel! It is not easy to access at the hotel. Total missing of road indications
New hotel so very clean and Tidy Very poor breakfast. Very basic. We had to find someone to get coffee or tea, they didn't propose at the table. For 100 eur, breakfast should be much better
Nice local, easy to walk to everything Breakfast of cold cereal is not ides. Very few options at the breakfast bar.
Great old building in a former watermill. Interior lined with fine oak, which smells very good. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Charming.
Very interesting new conversion of old water mill. Very helpful staff. Excellent restaurant. 5-10 mins walk from Railway Station.
good location, very quiet, beautifull hotel, breakfast included
Sheltered, quiet, nice neighborhood, friendly stuff Smell in the room, unusual architecture in the room
Interesting interior design of room, nice and quiet Bathroom in bedroom, OK as idea but handshower in bath, not possible to hang up, definitely very inconvenient. Same with lack of space to put soap or shampoo near bath. Towels can only be hung from hooks, no racks to let them dry properly.
very good hotel, beautifull location, friendly people
The fashinating location, the large space and the atmosphere in the room. The gastronomy.
Nicely converted building on the outskirts of Leuven, within the university campus. Busy and lively restaurant. Nothing
Very nice environment for both leisure and business, next to Kasteelpark Arenberg and suitable for both romantic strolls and work at the university across the street. Good brasserie in Belgian style (that's a plus). Very large room, very high (under old wooden roof construction). Good airco -- which is needed. Ideal weekend getaway, perfect for efficient business, a combination rarely found. The bathroom is built inside the room, behind a wall. Very nice, but it could use a direct light source.
A beautiful hotel about 5 minutes taxi ride out of Leuven City centre (normally between €10-€15 a journey but that was for a 6 seater taxi). The building & rooms were stunning with lovely red brick & exposed beams. The breakfast was delicious with a good choice (fruit salad, yogurt, bread, cheese, meats, cerial, eggs & bacon) we also ate in the hotel restaurant one evening which was really good too, although quite expensive. There was 6 of us in our group (3 couples) & we all said that we would definitely stay at The Lodge again & recommend it to friends & family.
Lovely atmospheric conversion of old buildings enclosing a courtyard. Nice terrace outside the restaurant for drinks or meals in good weather Our suite room had a window at floor height with no lock which our toddler could easily open leading to a potential sheer drop of several metres. We had to be extremely vigilant with her. The hotel and room were beautifully appointed with one exception: the television was the smallest, cheapest box money can buy. It was totally out of keeping
Romantic atmosphere in the suite (nr. 8), very spacious, bathroom in the room. No fridge in the suite, room was cold when we first came in.
