Lovley village great walks nice people None
The location Poor value for money. The en suite was very cramped. The walls of the room were dirty and the carpet was stained. Not worth nearly £100, even for the location. Not enough staff to cope with demand at evening meal and breakfast. We waited half an hour for a hot drink with our breakfast.
welcoming, friendly staff and a wonderful location in the Dales our room had the smallest en-suite I have ever used
Pretty location, albeit wasted on a business trip! Food was only okay. Not as good as I would have expected from how the place is marketed.
Pleasant environment; good food; great position for walking in spectacular countryside. Welcome was a bit off putting....kept waiting because computer was down; wasn't sure if booking was in place initially.Staff had to go out for milk for coffee after evening meal!! No hash browns as stated on breakfast menu for two mornings running....no mention made of this until we asked on first morning....black pudding offered as an alternative on second morning!
It was a clean friendly hotel central and comfortable one I intend to return to well done None
Good location as a base for walking. Room nicely refurbished in contemporary style but retaining original features/character. Good ensuite with excellent shower. Main bar area is a little tired and unwelcoming however attractive restaurant serving a good selection of well prepared food. Whilst the staff were friendly and helpful they appeared to be understaffed on the evening of our arrival. On the second night we felt rushed through dinner although it was only 9.00pm
Lovely room, comfortable bed, well cooked breakfast, welcoming log fire. Internet booking site said Lister Arms was 3.1 miles from Grassington and it turned out to be nearer 10 miles and took about half an hour to get there. Information should be corrected on the internet. My booking confirmation was for £70 per night but was charged £90. However there was no problem in getting a refund but there must be a gremlin in the system.
The food Construction on the detached annexe where the room was located had not been completed and we felt that security/safety was questionable. Unsure as to how suitable the fire precautions/fire exits were.
The hotel was very nice set in a lovely location the rooms were very nice, clean and comfy. Food very good a bit on the pricey side though.
Excellent rooms , brand new and all top of the range furnishings , Staff pleasant and helpful . Only minor details , staff willing to oblige , but apparently untrained in details such as cutlery presentation , and supply of table condiments etc .
This was five star luxury with a fantastic menu. I loved the pillows, that for me was such a relief as I can't sleep on foam pillows. The room was huge and perfect and I would recommend this place to everyone
Room and facilities were excellent, staff very helpful and friendly. N/A
The modern clean spacious room with very comfortable bed and chairs. The bathroom was also modern and spacious nothing
The room had incredible views and was very comfortable The caravan park attached to it; also the pub/restaurant was poor and needs upgrading
Very friendly welcome. Nothing too much trouble. The standard of the room was superb A1 I will recommend it with no hesitation
Lovely location and very good rooms.
Very nicely appointed rooms. Good locally sourced food and nice and pleasant staff. I was surprised that a phone booking would cost more than booking through a third party on the internet even when I explained the cost of booking via internet they still insisted in charging a higher price on the phone, bizzare!
Without a doubt the best thing about the Queens Head is the food. The breakfast is excellent and freshly cooked. This is the second time we have stayed there and we had an evening meal on both occasions, which was very tasty, not expensive, and the quantities were generous. Nothing to complain about, this is a really nice play to stay, rooms are large, bed/pillows very comfortable, staff are friendly and helpful and it is in a lovely village with beautiful views over the valley and almost forgot to say - dogs are welcome!
Made to feel very welcome. Lots of hot water and clean towels. Bed very comfy. Food excellent. Very dark as no outside light on way to and from room which is situated at back of the hotel/pub.
The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was warm and comfortable. We found the bar inviting and the food in the excellent.
The staff were very friendly and the accommodation was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable!
A very pleasant welcome and very helpful staff.
Large room, good food, smiling staff, good parking Shortage of power points in the room
Everything was wonderful, the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly, the food was fantastic and the accommodation was spacious and well designed etc The only bad point was that the internet site we booked on said that the address was in Leyburn when in fact it was 5 miles away in the village of Finghall. I know the address is officially Leyburn but a mention of the village address would have been useful as it meant we had to slightly change our evening plans.
Food excellent A couple of lights not working in the bathroom
Polite friendly staff. Quiet location with lovely views. Relaxing pub with good food
Lovely views from decking over the country side.Friendly helpful staff.Good quality cuisine.
Hotel room was very cold, central heating was not working, the two electric heaters were inadequate. We we upgraded to a better room which had three single beds and a double, the room was large but very very cold. The only mirror in the room was 3ins x 3ins - totally inadequate and the hotel was unable to provide another.
Lovely family run inn - very friendly and helpful staff.Cracking homemade sandwiches for the walkers! Thanks to all for a great stay.
The rooms were very clean, the beds were very comfortable, the decor very modern. The inn was a good old country pub. Large log fire, friendly locals, and a proper landlord, nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely stay there again
Small local pub with rooms. Food good, top breakfast. Was fine for Catterick visit.Good Theakston beers. earlier winter check in
Very good overnight stay. Rooms well equiped and clean and very tidy Staff very friendly and helpful Check in time if the pub has closed at lunchtime you can not check in until 18:00 hours at the earliest
Tony was a fantastic host.He really put himself out for us and was excellent company in the bar that evening.
I quite enjoyed my room. It wasn't luxury, but it was very good for the price and also included WiFi. The bathroom was new, the TV was very good and the bed was comfortable. Tony the owner was also very kind and recommended a local brasserie for food which was very good.
