Restaurant food and staff. Inside swiming pool.
Excellent location and excellent release, complete peace and romance.
the views, the room, the restaurant and the food
Lovely ground floor suite - nice people - great breakfast and good service. A place with feel good appeal. -/-
We stayed for 5 nights in the Suite with ocean view and it was excellent!! Price was good too as the more days you stay the price per night goes down. Great view, big balcony, big and comfortable bed, nice kitchen with everything needed to cook full meals, maid cleaned all dishes every morning, new and modern, very comfortable room, will definitely return. Sauna was broken the entire stay, outdoor pool was ok but left much to be desired, eggs at breakfast were horrible (but the fresh squeezed Orange Juice was absolutely delicious)
I liked very much the design of this hotel; very nice employees, very good dinner; rooms are very pretty styled as is the whole hotel; beautiful views to the oceans; very good breakfast, WiFi was available for free, also free parking opportunities everything was great
Great Hotel, modern design, beautiful setting overlooking the sea and great spa with a choice of many treatments. What more to ask for?
The location was fantastic and the staff very attentive. I would recommended it to any of my friends.
Some of the equipment in the gym was broken. I also found that some of the reception staff (only) could have been more friendly. The staff in the restaurants and cafes and cleaning service were exceptionally friendly.
The atmosphere of the resort is wonderfully relaxing - probably because we went in the off season - but still lovely. Can't say what we liked the best as everything was first class - the room, the view, the food, the staff!! The only thing that we did not like was that we only stayed one night.
we were in a sea beach appartment and could walk straight out of our pattio doors and were right .... i mean right on to the beach. very very romantic i didnt like leaving ........
Our room was lovely very contemporary with a sea view. The staff were very accommodating when we had a problem with breakfast and it was soon resolved. Not much to do outside of the resort, but all very good for families.
The hotel was quiet and the atmosphere was relaxing, which is what I wanted Yes,As Dunas. The food was poor; the menu was 'cleverly' misleading with children's meal prices to the fore misleadingly on the menu. And the bill was seriously overcharging me (charge for full bottle of wine instead of 2 glasses). I didn't find the manager very sympatico and we never went there again. There were so few other diners on the Saturday night we arrived, I guess others had been put off too.
Mainly the location of the Beach Rooms and the hotel design very well in harmony with the local nature.
Great views, nice breakfast, staff helpful, had a "boutique feel" Did not refill bathroom soaps from 1 day to next, internet not free, pretty expensive
Ideally located intimate hotel in the real south-western edge of Europe, beautiful cliffs and a direct descent to the beach, which is unique in this area. Unfortunately the tiles in the bathroom should be refreshed!
fantastic location and views
Relaxed atmosphere, staff were extremely friendly and helpful, room was good size as was the bed (not the case everywhere we've stayed!). For us this was an excellent location, close to lots of different beaches and other towns to visit.
Proximity to the sea. Big balcony with seaview. No free wifi. No elevator.
The back patio area was quite elegent and relaxing offering wonderful views of the ocean. The staff was friendly and the breakfast enjoyable. This hotel provides easy access to the beach and the Castle. Surfing is also nearby. However, there is not much else in this town. The hotel is overpriced because there are so few in this town. The entry way and parking are difficult to find. Our room overlooked an abandoned building across the street.
A fantastic view and a great terrace. Nicely decorated with new and modern furniture. That the hotel rooms seem to have severe problems with mould in the rooms. The room stank when we arrived and the moist dripped from the ceiling. When we had aired it out (why couldn't the staff do that before we arrived??) it became slightly better in the room but the bathroom was the same. It became better when we turned off the ac.
View from the room was absolutely breath-taking. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The spa was not operational at the time
Good breakfast. Maybe a 5-10 minute walk to the beach. Probably a 20-25 minute walk to the other side of town to access the marina and most of the restaurants in town. Rooms had a relaxing marine color scheme. Patio was great to enjoy a snack of wine/cheese in the afternoon. Good value overall. Our room had been heavily smoked in prior to our arrival (probably for years). We had to leave the patio door open for hours to make it breathable. Landscaping photos on website don't show adjacent rocky terrain around hotel oasis.
it's a friendly hotel, in a great spot! good taste on design and very relaxing!
The staff were brilliant especially the housekeeping staff. The bed was the biggest bed I have ever seen!
The breakfast left a lot to be desired
Lovely breakfast, comfortable clean rooms, large bathroom great location for beach and great restaurants, fantastic resort for romance holiday.
the staff were friendly and helpful and the place was newly refurbished and clean for what it was (very simple) the room was expensive, but then there was a "sea view"
Modern rooms which were extremely clean. Breakfast was excellent. Staff was very informative and friendly. Location was convenient to view beaches and fortress. Limited night life/dining within walking distance.
The location to one of the more beautiful beaches in Portugal n/a
location / cleanliness Breakfast - the worst Coffee i have ever drunk !
Stylish place to stay. I think it was a bit overpriced in comparison with other hotels in Portugal. There are plenty of cheaper places to stay in Sagres.
Location, view, friendly stuff, if not too efficient the sync was stuck.
a lovely garden and warm welcome
Fantastic location, luxury rooms High prices for dinner and minibar
Geographic situation is fabulous Difficult to communicate in english...
nice big baths, could have done with a few little things fixed in the room and the fires on in the main rooms in the evening
Great historical location with fabulous views of ocean
Beautiful location and property. Comfortable and cozy. Modrn comforts with the feel of being away from it all. All good.
We enjoyed the view, comfort and peacefulness of the facility. The breakfast was wonderful, too. Our screen door would not stay on the track, but we were glad to have a screen door so we could leave it open at night.
The sea view, excellent car park, internet access (although only in one room) It was not a matter of disliking the hotel - it was more a sense of disappointment about the very dated rooms, the lack of facilities for children ( a few plastic toys scattered in the garden next to a large rusting anchor), the fact that any cooked items for breakfast were an extra charge, the plastic flowers in the room, no kettle in the room, poor choice of TV channels and poor TV reception.
Location is great, the room was spacious. A visit to the forteza in Sagres is worthwhile. The food in the restaurant is not recommendable.
Staff is minimal
the rooms and the location close to beach and restaurants nothing
The view and friendliness of the staff it caters for Brits, and this reflected in the type of breakfast - instant coffee!, typical english corn-flake type cereals, etc
Position relative to the beach. View from bedroom windows. Restuarant next door- excellent food. Difficulty finding parking space.
In a word, location. Facing a beautiful beach in an unspoiled Algarve village, with some great restaurants close by. Modest rooms with few amenities. No wi-fi.
We stayed at this hotel 2 nights. The hotel is located perfectly at the beautiful beach. There are several good restaurants nearby. The hotel personal is very helpful, experienced and friendly. However, mostly it is lication, location, location!!!
next to beach and choice of restaurants, gorgeous breakfasts, good air con, all rooms seem to have sea view, small rooms, but comfy, even smaller bathrooms but adequate
Relaxed efficient management - calm friendly ambiance
Very nice people. Not a big city but enough pleaces to go when your there. Nice and peacefull. Excellent service of the hotel.
The hotel was extremely clean and the family-run staff were friendly. The Salema beach was very clean and I recommend spending a day there. The beds were very uncomfortable. At night (2am) it is very loud outside the hotel with people talking outside the bar and noise travels directly into your room, no matter which floor you are on. Lack of carpeting and insulation means you can here a pin drop from the floor above you.
This is an excellent resort, we had a 3 bedroom villa, which was spacious and very well equiped including a microwave, hairdryer, 2 bathrooms, 2 balconys etc. The pool was fantastic with lots of loungers, there are several restaurants on the resort and the spa was amazing, offering all the usual treatments to a very high standard. The golf course looked amazing. On the whole no, but you really do need to have a car. Reception is about a mile from the villas, Lagos is approx 12 miles and Sagres 15. But there is more than enough to keep you amused within the resort
The setting--beautiful, rolling hills in the western Algarve. The staff--friendly, professional, with a "can do" attitude. The villa--enormous, clean, well-equipped with every kitchen amenity and several gorgeous balconies. The pool and spa area was beautiful and large. I could go on about how amazing this place was, but essentially it was the highlight of our entire trip to Portugal! They didn't provide any shampoo or soaps, but this was a minor point as most of the guests there stay for longer periods so therefore probably bring their own.
great villa,a home away from home
While we were vacationing in Spain we took an over-night trip to Portugal. The views from the room were beautiful We actually had such a great time and were so impressed with the Spa and services that when we got back to Spain we recommended Parque Da Floresta to acquaintances who were also staying at the same hotel in Spain and they went for a couple of days. There was no blow dryer in the room, a minor inconvenience.
Excellent apartment and services. Really superb arrangement. Please provide some additional indications to make easier to reach it.
the villas were serviced to a very high standard and were very clean
The view from the villa. Upon arrival at the Quinta Da Encosta Velha Resort, reception staff informed us that they did not have the accommodation which we had booked with booking.com ie 3 bedroomed deluxe villa. However they wanted to 'upgrade' my family to a luxury villa with a private pool. They failed to tell us however, that the villa was about 5 miles away from civilisation across a dirt-track road on the side of a mountain. We arrived in 35 degree heat after travelling for 8 hours, and discovered that the nearest shop was miles away. Therefore as we had arrived by taxi, we were abandoned in a remote area without basics such as water and food. Reception staff did not provide any 'induction' information or advise that a car was essential.
Plenty of facilities. Not too crowded. Nice heated pool with panoramic view of Budens Lack of parasolls at the round pool.
spacious well appointed town house with fabulous roof terrace. Good facilities at Parque de Floresta (5 min car journey). stairs everywhere - in the town house, to the town house, round the resort - not toddler/buggy friendly. Also we went May half term yet all facilities in this part of the resort were closed and you had to go to Parque de Floresta - car imperative! There is child friendly pool behind restaurant complex (shut) but pools in accommodation area all 2m+ depth. Excellent child's pool at PdeF but need to pay to access.
Beautiful views, gorgeous golf course and very good gym facilities. Close to amazing restaurants all for a lower cost than being in Lagos. The staff were extremely helpful as well, and spoke perfect English for us to communicate effectively! I liked everything, but think that they should improve the description of the rooms. For a very low cost, we received an entire bedroom 3 bath Villa that was gorgeous, and I am sure more people would book if they knew what superior value it was to bring a family there. They also don't advertise how close to the towns and beach they are (5 mins) which was a plus, as it wasn't crowded.
Peace and quiet. Space. Pools and Sun Loungers
location, value for money, view furnisheings are somewhat poor and rather run down
The view of the apartment directly to the sea; free parking and the pool was nice. The staff are not not friendly. They charged us an extra bed for a third adult, that never was offered during the stay. The daily cleanliness of the apartment just doesn't aplied to the kitchenet. The squash room, that is annouced, has a big hole in the front wall, where, sometimes, some bolls get stuck!...
Staff not very friendly or helpful.
the location and facilities of the hotel
The hotel was self contained for lengthy stays. The hotel had amazing views of the coast.
Location wonderful, apartment good, breakfast ok, staff friendly, restaurants within quarter mile. Some things in room a little tired
It was a hotel with a very accessable price, and the room was very clean with a gorgeous view. The mattress was in excellent condition, also! The staff was nice and helpful and I felt I made the best choice in staying here! There really wasn't anything I didn't like.
This is the second time I have stayed at the Navigator and on both occasions I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The apartments are spacious, spotlessly clean and offer stunning views. The staff, with one exception were friendly and helpful. The superb position, close to beaches & restaurants, could hardly be bettered. The only minor criticism would be that the chairs in the lounge area are not particularly comfortable.
the fantastic view froma our apartment
The hotel was close to beach, stores and restaurants. Good communication with bus to other parts of Algarve.
Cheap. Staff a little surly and bar shut!
Nice room. Close to Fortaleza de Sagres and Cabo San Vicente, and to some magnificent beaches. Pay attention to the radio antenna of the car when it is parked in the hotel parking...
what would be expected by its price! don't expect much from room service.
Swimming Pool nice. Room facilities poor. Shower had no bracket, so had to hand hold shower. Noisy at night. Was told I could not park outside door when unloading car, so had to cart luggage quite a distance from car park.
Location is very nice, there a lot of nice beaches in the area, swimmingpool is clean and quiet. The appartment was clean and had enough room The two seperate beds and the hotel is noisy. During our stay it was pretty quiet but when there more quests staying at the hotel there's a lot of loud noise (we experienced this one night)
Our room was very spacious and clean with access to the nice pool area. We were there in September and it was very peaceful and quiet. The reception is open 24 hours. It is a short walk to the beach and the main road of bars and restaurants. Also free parking available. The shower was not attached to the wall in our room but staff were so surly we were afraid to ask about this! One member of staff was on duty the entire time we were there, both night and day which may have explained his grumpiness. Breakfast, although edible was not very nice. Although clean, there were ants everywhere in the hotel. Rooms could do with air conditioning.
The hotel staff were massively unhelpful and unfriendly. The room smelt. The shower was broken. The maids did not clean the room. The breakfast consisted of a toasted croissant and concentrate juice for 6 euro. There is nothing for miles around here. I should have stayed in Lagos. It was the most overpriced hotel I have ever stayed in.
The only plus in this hotel - it is located very close to Cabo da Sao Vicente. The personal is very unfriendly except the young guy at the receiption. Very poor breakfast. The room is rather good, but dosn't cost such money. It's better to stay in Lagos instead of Sagres.
Clean, spacious rooms, pleasant pool area, good restaurant immediately opposite the hotel Need air-conditioning in the rooms
I could see cape St Vincent from my balcony as I enjoyed the afternoon sunshine there. One receptionist was a bit grumpy but the older man was veery pleasant. THey was always someone there and they were efficient enough.
