Pros: Everything. The hotel has had a recent renovation so lots of things are new. Spotlessly clean, great decor, very modern. The room was a good size, had a balcony and table with chairs. Stunning views in every direction. Superb shower and very comfy bed. Very good, buffet breakfast. The major attribute to this hotel is the staff. Helpful, considerate and professional. The best value for money in our stay in Spain.
Cons: No tea/coffee in the room. Not an issue but would be nice.
8.8 Excellent

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is very central in the town and easy to find from the bus stop, the hotel has been completely renovated so it is very modern & the facilities are great. Our room had a balcony with views of some of the surrounding mountains, everything was very clean and well presented - Huge bed & rain shower in the bathroom! Breakfast was included - It was continental and very fresh each morning I especially want to mention the receptionist Anna Martinez, she was super friendly & having spent a number of years in Ireland herself she seemed delighted to have some Irish come for a visit! Also, another thank you to Luna who saved us from being locked out on our first night after we lost our hotel key! :D
Cons: I cannot think of anything, we have talked already about our next trip back to Ramales

Pros: Perfection, Perfection, Perfection
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely property, lovely hosts, enormous bed. Great location for accessing the beautiful countryside and also larger places such as Santander and Bilbao. Covered parking for our motorcycle too.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike. The only improvements would be a mini fridge and possibly a couple of small complimentary bottles of water. The room lacked a kettle and cups but we have our own travel kettle and cups anyway, so it was not a problem for us.

Pros: A very comfortable private hotel.
Cons: Nothing

Really good value

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place surrounded by mountains, lot of places to relax in hotel area including nice swimming pool, enough free parking places inside hotel area, spacious and comfortable rooms (bungalow in the garden), big bathroom with whirpool, steady WiFi connection, very good breakfast, delicious meals at the local restaurant
7.5 Good
Pros: Great hotel with a lot of character. Food also very good.
Cons: Issue with google maps. There is a drop pin for same hotel but about 30km away. Just a small bit of confusion but didnt dissapoint.
4.3 Okay
Cons: For 185 Euro in the deep Cantabrian country one gets a 3* star room with jacuzzi, that stinks of humidity so much, special ventilation has to be arranged. Restaurant is ok, but overpriced. Surroundings are boring. The so called palace is only one building, that has super hot stuffy rooms on upper floors. Restaurant overlooks the parking. Service is friendly, but not professional, home visit style. There is so much to see on the Basque country. Avoid this place.
5.8 Okay
Cons: I very rarely leave hotel reviews as I travel all over the world with my job and I'm used to hotels of varying standards. But due to the expense of this stay and the negative experience we had, it's only right that I leave some honest feedback to provide others with an informed choice. Having a hot tub listed as being in the room and the mainly positive reviews of this hotel was the main reason I opted to bring my family here. I wanted to treat them to a bit of luxury after a very long drive through Spain. But the hottub was actually situated right next to the bed and not in a dedicated and ventilated bathroom area as I expected. We had to sleep with the smell of chemicals and damp created by the machine and it was a very uncomfortable evening, we were glad to be back on the road the next day. We didn't use the machine as it smelled so much of damp. The heating was not on when we arrived and it was cold in the room. The windows were open which had driven down the temperature inside, we suspect that this was to remove the smell of damp and chlorine/chemicals used in the machine. After driving 10 hours from Southern Spain through mountains and fog, the conditions on arrival were very disappointing. It took a few attempts to convince the management that their heating system needed to be switched on in the room. The food was good but expensive and there wasn't much alternative for us due to being located far away from the towns and having to feed a family so late. In total we spent 320 euros for 1 night. A mistake I won't be repeating.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved peace, views, atmosphere, pool. Our room was very good. We stayed in one of the garden suite rooms .
Cons: Spa bath in bathroom- it made the bathroom seem very dated. It is such a large bathroom, which is nice but spa bath significantly detracts from its potential impact.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, good food, safe and secure parking for motorcycles, nice pool, we only planned on staying one night and ended up staying 2, lovely view from our room
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was perfect, though it meant we had a late start everyday. And the location was beautiful, though not much to do within walking distance. It was a little hot and stuffy in our room, but otherwise very nice.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: - Fantastic Italian owners of the hotel - great breakfast service - Great medieval palace, nicely renovated - Beautiful setting
Cons: - Apart from owners couple - personnel is largely incapable and not service oriented (on the owners day-off, breakfast service was below average, empty plates and long waiting; the gardener started to cut the hedge next to the breakfast terrace with a motor trimmer - great idea!) - Had to change rooms because the first bungalow was really dirty and full of mold fungus
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very beautifully restored palace, quiet, beautiful setting surrounded by mountains, v comfy beds, fabulous jacuzzi in bungalow and superb breakfast
Cons: Nothing
Posada el Molino de Cadalso - Rasines - Bedroom
7
8.8 Excellent (105 reviews)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was well presented, clean and comfortable. Nice to have a fan to keep us cool in the night. Quiet location with a nice walk along the river just outside. The restaurant was wonderful, food was really well cooked and good value. Excellent service.
Cons: It was very nice, however our room was on the main external landing which meant that people could walk past and see in, so we needed to keep the blinds down for privacy.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Cosy refurbished cottage not far from the sea. The staff are very nice and helpful.
7.0 Good
Pros: Very clean, lady waiter was very friendly.
Cons: Was lead to believe they spoke English and no one did. No one there when we arrived. Rooms had no windows and was very hot, no breakfast until after 11 am and no one there in the morning to return the key.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food fresh and excellent. Great shower and bed. Proprietors very welcoming.
Cons: Bottom sheet on bed not quite big enough for the bed.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room was very comfortable and quiet. Bathroom excellent. Food in the restaurant next door was exquisite ! Staff very helpful and friendly . Hope to return for the Turbot alone !!
Cons: Dinner starts at 21.00 which is a little late for us Paddy's but that said the owner gave us a taste of the goat stew with our drinks around 6 to keep us from perishing and very fine it was !!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: An evening meal of Tuna (caught the day before) and Padron peppers grown in the garden. It doesn't come much better!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful spot. Secluded, peaceful, very clean and comfortable. The owners were very hospitable and ensured that everything was to our liking despite our lack of Spanish and their lack of English. We had a delightful room with velux windows and a bathroom on a mezzanine. The restaurant served homegrown food, fresh and delicious and the waitress spoke good English. Things in Spain run on a different timescale...dinners often don't happen until 9pm and breakfasts are late. Not a problem if you link into 'Spanish'time
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice building next to an old watermill, along an unfrequented local road, so with quiet rural setting. Beautiful modern and elegant room. Bar and restaurant downstairs with outdoor seating. Staff speaking only spanish, but they were amazing, very friendly and helpful!

Cons: The rain
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast amazing and excellent restaurant. Very Good Staff
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. Great food. Good location close to Santander ferry. I was in heaven with the architecture and decor - Art Deco is my thing and they had it in spades. The extension architecture and internal furnishings and decor all reflected the style of the era. Very cleverly done. I loved it. World's best anchovies as a starter for dinner - Mmmmm - and the bottle of Albalbarino recommended by the waiter. What a great start to a holiday!!
Cons: Having to pay extra to park the car in the extensive grounds. I think parking should be included in the price.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice property with historical feel and atmosphere. Easy to access. Staff is very very welcoming and helpful. Fine breakfast - even though a bit traditional - with plenty of options.
Cons: Would have preferred a more extensive wine list and more fresh seafood on the menu of the restaurant. Too few outdoor tables and chairs in the cafeteria.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: stayed after evening arrival by ferry in santander, well worth the drive from the ferry port and much better value than the hotels around santander itself
9.5 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. High standard throughout. Secure parking
Cons: Limited number of electrical sockets in the room. Noise from adjacent rooms
5.8 Okay
Cons: Staff weren’t very happy. Not up to the level of other paradores I’ve used. The whole place looked tired and understaffed. Use of outside pool not available. Poor menu choice. Lack of vegetarian main dishes. Poor service in the bar. Will definitely NOT use this hotel again. How does it claim to be 4 stars?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is convenient for Bilbao Ferry port. possibly 40 mins away. Large rooms good food and obliging staff.
Cons: Full breakfast service not available until after we were due to leave but a continental service was arranged in the bar for us.

Cons: N/A
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hosts, beautiful hotel, great location. We stayed for one night on our way home from a family holiday. We didn’t want to stay in Santander the night before our boat home. I found this perfect hotel as it wasn’t too far from the port but was very traditional. The hosts could not have been lovelier and the hotel itself is absolutely stunning. We would highly recommend and will definitely return in the future.

Cons: For a hotel in a small town like Ampuero all was really good
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were fantastic. Look like they were recently refurbished and the quality and finish is great. Definitely not what we expected for the price. Puts many more expensive hotels to shame. The attached restaurant served excellent food in the evening.
Cons: Confusion over my booking, but was soon clarified. Language was a slight issue with no English speakers, but that is just as much my problem not speaking much Spanish, so not a criticism. Breakfast options were not what we expected, i suspect this is a more traditional venue than we normally book, but food was great.

Cons: Basic facilities
