Convienient for Reading I was not sure if the desk staff understood English or were just indifferent. I did not get the room I requested, a non smoking room with twin beds. After some debate about a double room and a twin room I eventually got a smoking room with two beds. The room whilst clean was poorly maintained, the window would not close properly although the duty manager forced it into a semi closed position, there was no shaver light in the bathroom and shower tap could not be fully turned off. It reminded me of a Spanish hotel iin the seventies. I arrived at 9.30 pm, could not get a meal or a sandwich and had to go elsewhere. I was asked to pay the bill on arrival, and could not get a receipt on departure at 6.30 am because the desk attendant could not understand how I had paid a discounted price and did not appear able to operate their computer system.
The hotel was fairly close to the town centre. The ironing board which was provided had a melted and burnt cover. I had to ask twice for the ironing board to be delivered to my room.
Spacious Only in the hotel intermittantly, but staff need more training. Finer points on cleaning need to be addressed
excellent location, clean, spacious, quiet, friendly and courteous staff. Will definitely stay there again.

Staff were friendly at reception Needs a revamp - looks like thay have tried but none it cheaply - furniture in room well used ? - doors broken - chairs broken - internet offered but you have to pay for (to an outside provider) very slow connection
Very clean Their literature offered 24 hour snacks and drinks and also said that they served lunch from around 12 -2:30. We were told at 1:30 that no food whatsoever was available until 6pm. This is shocking service for a hotel. How can you have a hotel with no food from breakfast till late evening. I will be contacting the hotel directly for a refund.
The breakfast meal and the cleanliness of the room. IT had no cooling system only heating that fact the the windows opened was its saving grace.
The night porter was very pleasant The morning receptionist was surly; there was only one television station - Sky News; the breakfast was of poor quality - it appeared to have been kept warm for hours, including the tea.
The restaurant area looked nice we arrived and there was no hot water.rang reception and told me it couldn't be sorted till the morning.Manager was in at 8:30,rang the manager and told him there was still no hot water,he wasn't very helpful and made me feel like I was lying.they sent someone to room while we were having breakfast(which was horrible,burnt beans and uncooked rashers)without our permission to fix the problem.On our return met the manager and he said it was fixed,which it still w'asn't.Upon checkout told the manager this,again was unhelpful.Told me he wouldn't charge us for breakfast because of this,I pointed out it was included to which he argued it wasn't.he then realised I was right and didn't offer any discount.He has no customer relation skills.
