The atmosphere and calmness around is just perfect for those who is tired from city noise and hurry
The hostellerie has much potential. The building has everything to be a good holiday location. Our room was nice and comfortably big. This is a missed opportunity. The reception is closed between 12:00 and 18:00 (we missed that in the confirmation e-mail, so had to wait two hours before we could check in). During that time, there really is no-one present from the staff. Everything is closed shut. There is also no restaurant anymore. The owner drove us to a restaurant the nearby down and came to pick us up again. That was really kind. Unfortunately, he speaks only French and no English. The toilet in our room had not been cleaned and we found some finger or toe nails on the floor. As we only stayed one night and our French isn't good enough, we didn't complain about this, but there was enough reason to.
The atmosphere. Difficult to find
Very nice lady (owner I suppose) at the reception, and serving breakfast, etc. Nice old building, very clean rooms, all looked in good shape. To come to the hotel you drive through a lovely village, but you will find that the hotel is close to the motorway. This means you hear traffic 24 hours a day, when you open the windows in the room. Please note the restaurant is not open on Monday. I had to go into the village to a restaurant but this was not far and a good recommendation by the hotel.
Very dedicated front desk employee, walking you up to the room. Spacey room, but very basic. The menu in the restaurant was quite appealing, hope to return there once to enjoy the kitchen. Located in the country side, yet still close to Brussels. Very basic breakfast buffet. Good enough for a short business trip. Uncomfortable shower access under a slanting roof. TV remote control didn't work (not very convenient when watching the tele from your bed)
The building was tastefully renovated creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Ideal for weekend cycling.
nice large comfortable room, very nice dinner
Room was big & comfy, breakfast was ok, receptionist was wonderful and very helpful. Great for a weekend away from it all maybe apart from the trains & motorway. Roads to hotel are single lane farm tracks not well maintained. Main line to Brussells and Motorway run behind so constant rumble in background but not loud unless you open the window. Restaurant not open on Mondays/Tuesdays, food ok but to my taste & a bit expensive
Food good, staff good, and hotel well maintained and good atmosphere. N/A
very poor service of staff at breakfast buffet
Lovely hotel - comfortable rooms - very good restaurant
Hard to find entrance
convenient location with restaurant and breakfast. several great restaurants in walking distance The breakfast room needs another stuff. could be more relaxing atmosphere.
The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were welcoming and obliging.
Poor and very expensive internet access for those without a PC.
Travel on business to this area, this hotel gives good full service facility, restaurant, bar, comfortable room, good lobby for meeting / visits. Bed was a single, would prefer larger bed but for the price acceptable.
Quiet Room Attitude of Staff, TV did not work properly, Missed Starter at Dinner, Confusion over breakfast at checkout.
The room was clean and the view over the vineyard was very nice.and the breakfast was excellent Everything was okay.
The comfort and atmosphere of the hotel is good During breakfast he supply of bread/bacon/salmon was absent or slowly.
Good location, very close to Waterloo office park. Comport beds and good breakfast. Hotel staff is not too helpful. During booking i have mentioned that i prefer room NOT on the ground floor (i have book a room in one month in advance), but receive room on ground floor. Answer was: we have't spare room on the first floor. Aircondition is on the room but too noisy. During checkout hotel try to charge me for more high rate. If you are required to stay in Waterloo area and you have car, then better to stay in Château Du Lac hotel in Genval. Same hotel chain but better value for money.
We stayed at this hotel on the way to BRU airport. This is a business hotel with large and confortable rooms. Breakfast buffet is good. hairs on the bad sheet and pillow. Old carpets at the corridors
Price (through Booking.com got EUR 80 for double and was upgraded to triple breakfast incl. for the same money), breakfast was great, location was convenient when with a car. Hotel is aging, rooms/halls definitely need some refurbishing (especially bathrooms)...
The hotel and restaurant have a beautiful design. The room was big and still cosy. The food in the restaurant was delicious !
very good breakfast and excellent service and a very pleasant location. the reception had an inforamtion I will stay 2 nights but in the reality I have booked only for 1 night. After a short explication, the check-in has been adjusted accordingly.
Large, quiet room with good facilities. Close to ring road with good access to motorways south of Brussels. Difficult to find hotel - in former sugar factory! Evening meal was not good value, with 20-30 min waits between courses and small portions. Breakfast - hot food was cold, but there was a good range of foods.
The restaurant was outstanding - excellent food, imaginative menu and (for the standard) not too expensive It would be nice to be able to get Internet access from the room rather than having to go back down to Reception to get the log in details
Perfect location if you have a meeting in one of the offices next door. Very high prices for a normal/regular hotel.
Enjoyed the spacious club room and nicely remodeled bathroom. Very convenient to tourist sights. The mattresses are too firm.
Comfy.Gent on reception on returning my passport noticed it was my birthday and wihed me a happy one.Unfortunately no champagne !!!!! Impersonal, very expensive if not booked on net. Glad only stayed 2 nights before moving onto my regular and cheaper and nicer hotel nearby!!!!
The quiet atmosphere and friendly desk clerk. They were not prepared to have guests over the Easter Weekend. The breakfast was not very good, the room lacked a fan and the hot pot was in need of cleaning. The hotel needs to consider putting something in the tub to prevent slipping when showering.
The service the people
rooms need renovation, air condition is too noisy, breakfast is good,
The rooms are of a good size The reception area need sot be manned by more than 1 person at busy times. This was very poor and checking out took over 30mins.
I felt well, being alone in my room did not make me feel alone in the huge world like in some hotels.
Free WiFi It is rather dated and in need of a re-fit
Room was nice; staff was super helpful & polite
double room in the hotel was very small, with extra bed for our son it was not possible to move i nthe room. The rooms and the furniture i nthe hotel are very old, worn out. It is not 4* hotel which you expect when paying 175 Euro per night. I will never stay in this hotel again. Major renovation is required, prices are too high, should be below 100 Euro even after renovation.
Wonderful location, quiet atmosphere, great rooms, great commemoration of the Battle of Waterloo I will return soon.
Nice breakfast, I loved the bread! I did not like the noise of the road and the lights outside as there were paintingworks ongoing
No warm water. Room interior full of stains, was warm (in February). Slept on top of the sheets.
Easy to find! Lack of plugs (for my laptop) in the room. Had to use the TV socket and therefore couldn't watch TV as I worked - which was probably better for my concentration anyway.
Good breakfast, nice bathroom, comfortable mattress awful noice from a street, too dark room, no price list for mini bar and some drinks are out of expiry dates
good breakfast, pleasant staff, very clean rooms, wifi in rooms now. non come to mind
Well located close to the motorway. Room not that well-isolated. Lack of choice during breakfast.
nice room noisy, next to road
Right next to Napoleon's piramid and the Waterloo battle fields. The floor in the room was pretty much stained and so was the head board of the bed. All in all it did not make me feel the room was that clean.
Friendly staff Restaulant was under constraction. Brakfast was little bit poor.
Even if it is in the countryside, it is a little bit noisy: many trucks are passing close to it and you can hear easily from the room (mine was at the first floor).
Hotel was clean, modern and the room was a good size and bathroom facilities were excellent. Food at restaurant was good and staff were helpful.
Please write at least 15 words First of all location - totally ridiculous, far from everything except some cargo areas, even navigation system was confused. This is really basic hotel. Exercise room is just a normal room with rowing, bicycle machine and something else - even in my block we had better exercise room. My feeling was more like I'm staying in a motel and definitely not 3 star. It was clean but for the money I would expect more .In the room there was small electric kettle and some coffee. There is bar but not manned and you need to look for somebody to get a beer. I did not try restaurant except the breakfast - nice little buffet - nothing special but you can live with it. Staff at the reception desk very friendly and helpful, communicate in English - not the thing you'll take for granted in Belgium.
comfortable beds , nice shower position in middle of industrial estate
The room was spacious, we could choose twin beds and the location was convenient. The breakfast staff and service was sub-par on the weekend.
Staff were friendly. The fitness facility is extremely limited and not well thought-out. The location is on the edge of an industrial estate. Not within walking distance of other amenities.
New and very clean hotel. Lots of parking and a good restaurant. The room needs a reading lamp as the fixed lighting is not bright enough for working. Also the wireless is weak if you have a room on the ends.
more facilities for women in the room. I.E mirrors plugs etc for makeup and hair No mirrors or plugs in room for makeup and hair
I really liked the functionality of the room Matrass a bit too soft
clean rooms, convinient location.. room was a little small,(triple room we got was nice, but we didn't get it for the second stay.) not all the stuff was friendly.
Walking distance to RER, easy way to get into Paris to see the sights. Secure parking for hotel guests only at reasonable daily rate. Staff was very nice. Hotel is very basic. Used flip flops for walking around - not the cleanest place we stayed during our trip.
easy access to the places and sites we wanted to visit
easy to reach Bruxelles they don't accept the 500 euros banknotes the so called "bar" was poor
Hotel was clean, modern and easy to find. Staff helpful. Breakfast could have been better, car park smelt of sewage
The price was fair fair.
after we complained about our room we got a much better room Room: sink was blocked of shower and washbasin. The floor was dirty and it was extremely warm. But worst there was a light outside fixed just above our window. It switched on everytime somebody or something passed the parking. So the whole night the room was in bright light on and of. There were no proper curtains.
nothing too expensive for what you get. uncomfortable rooms.
Friendy reception staff made you feel very welcome The staff in the attached restaurant changed from being helpful and friendly to rude and unwelcoming when they found out we had booked our evening meal as a package.
This hotel was adjacent to both the battlefiled...15 minute drive away and the railway station (5 mins by car) with a direct train to Brussels every hour..last one back well after midnight...saved having to drive/stay in the middle of Brussels. Excellent staff and typical Ibis accomodation...never bad, never excellent...always good...staff very knowledgable and helpful. Nothing
