Pros: Wonderful stop over for our family of 5. Lovely, friendly host, great location, great breakfast and lovely room (family room has a double and single in one room, and a double in an adjoining room). Lots of extra touches made this a great B and B.

Pros: The host was extremely friendly. It was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was superb. By far the best value of our journey through France to Spain and back again. Would definitely recommend.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: We stayed there for two nights. Jacqueline's hospitality was amazing, she really made it feel like home for us. The apartment was perfectly clean and very comfortable with lots of nice details. Breakfast was outstanding - homemade crepes and jams, croissants and much more. Prefect stay for us, and hope to come back some day.
Cons: Nothing at all. Thanks a lot again!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Evening meal and breakfast were superb – both in quality and quantity! Lovely grounds, but unfortunately we didn't have time to linger and enjoy them to the full.
Cons: Not keen on the gravel parking area for a heavy motorbike!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming. Dog friendly. Secure car park. The breakfast and dinner were very good. We will stay again.

Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The welcome by Rodriguez and Didier was 5 star. The accommodation was 5 star. The breakfast was 5 star. The location was an amazing 5 star.
Cons: If I was a moaner, the only thing I could moan about was that there was absolutely nothing to moan about! In other words, there is not a thing that we didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a beautiful period property that had been tastefully restored and modernised. The courtyard of the house has a totally secured courtyard parking with sliding security gates. If you are fully loaded with your holiday items or with valuables it is very secure. There are trees to park under which provides shade for your dogs or cats if you are travelling with pets. The house is 3 minutes walk from the village centre where there is a shop and bakery to top up on supplies for the next part of your journey. Perfectly positioned; rural but well served and very close to the A16. The hot tubs are great too in the garden. The owners have made the garden totally secure for dogs and are happy to let your dogs have a run around. They have 2 French Bulldogs who love people but are kept indoors when your dogs are around as they don’t like other dogs. Cute dogs - we loved them. We had dinner there and it was delicious. Breakfast had a great array of breads, pastries, fruits, cereals, local cheeses, yogurts and fromage blanc. DELICIOUS. The hosts were so exceptionally welcoming. Offered us drinks on arrival and took time to join us for a chat. They had a good command of English which was very helpful.........I did practice my French a bit as well. Very hospitable. I would highly recommend this place. You will be well looked after.
Cons: The steps to the rooms are a little steep and are quite slippery. Typical of period homes but there are hand rails in place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic, genuine French adventure!
8.8 Excellent
Cons: The only thing I can complain about is there was no where to eat at all within about a 8 mile radius then only a choice of one restaurant open

Pros: Excellent hosts, great service, lovely room. Good location. Made very welcome.
Cons: Garden area could be a bit tidier, but at the time we visited the weather was not good, so difficult to keep pristine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was so comfortable. Very clean as usual. Lovely homemade breakfast. David is a very good host.
Cons: Unfortunately the property was only available for one night
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The B&B is in an excellent central location with private parking on site. Our room, which was one of two rooms beside the garden entrance, was lovely: nicely decorated, comfortable and well maintained and very clean. It was cold and rainy when we arrived and the central heating was immediately turned on for us and it worked well. Breakfast was laid out beautifully in the living area of the main house (which is fantastic). One of the best breakfasts we had during our trip. Organic homemade croissant and brioche, good bread and jams, home made yoghurt, fresh fruit and plenty of coffee.
Cons: The first impression was not good. The garden entrance to the property was very gloomy and shabby with worn out artificial grass and was not up to the standard of the rest of the house. Also you had to go outside to use the small sitting room with tea making facilities and to go into the house for breakfast. This may be OK in good weather, but it was raining when we were there it was a bit uncomfortable and wet! Having said that, David was an absolutely wonderful host and everything else is lovely.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very central in Montreuil, the rooms were comfortable and exceptionally quiet. The owner was charming and the breakfast was delicious and generous.
Cons: The entrance was not promising - it had the appearance of a back street nightclub, but our fears were dispelled once we were inside
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was very spacious and clean. Our host was delightful and most welcoming. Our breakfast was wonderful . Well situated in the centre of the town. Would be very happy to make a return visit.

Cons: Nothing!
7.9 Good
Pros: Very quirky and original. A lovely suite of rooms nestled in a secret garden area. The host is welcoming, friendly and informative. Breakfast is at a shared table in his living/dining room - delighfully original. I definitely recommend!
Cons: A practical point, but i didn't see any evidence of a smoke detector. The car park and initial entrance is a little off-putting but it just gets better afterwards!

Cons: Nothing to dislike
6.0 Good
Cons: Did not get the advertised breakfast. Where was the selection of cheeses and charcuterie? There was 1 piece of cheese and a few slices of ham on a plate! Where was the homemade marmalade? Not only did we have to wait for the croissants but they were the worse we have ever tasted!

Cons: Our room was slightly on the small side and not much shower gel but pretty exceptional for the price, so it was hard to criticise.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were made very welcome by our hosts Micheline and Roland. Our room and private facilities were just right.
Cons: Nothing
6.7 Good
Pros: Superb breakfast - omelette if you wish, plenty of choice of cheese, jams and bread. It was in a quiet, calm location. Very pleasant and friendly owners.
Cons: We did not have wifi. Our room was a little small, the room and toilet were very garish - silver paint everywhere! Our room , bathroom and toilet were partitioned from the hall with a curtain which was OK but other people may have a problem with it. The bedding seemed old but it was clean. We were given one sachet of coffee each and no milk even though I had asked for plenty of milk with breakfast we were not offered any for our room. There may have been a language problem as the owners did not speak any English and our French is restrictive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location, very comfortable and lovely breakfast. Staff were lovely and mad e us feel very welcome

Overview Reviews
When you stay at Manoir Francis in Marles-sur-Canche, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Montreuil-sur-Mer Citadel and St. Saulve Cathedral. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely loved our stay at Manoir Francis and could not have asked for a more perfect stopover point. From the lovely friendly welcome, the absolutely delicious dinner and breakfast in the adorable breakfast room and the gorgeous room. It exceeded our expectations, with the room ("Lord's room") looking even better in real life than in the photos. The bed was very comfortable and it was a pleasure to have a bath in the room also. Other thoughtful touches were the coffee (& tea!) machine and the welcome treats in the room for after the long journey. The courtyard was gorgeous and the views over the countryside really welcomed. It was wonderfully peaceful (although still only 10 minutes or so from Montreuil sur Mer) and a very relaxing beginning to our holiday. We would love to return and spend a little longer in the area.
Cons: Nothing, it was perfect
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Charming host, very friendly and welcoming. It was lovely old farmhouse and the rooms were large, comfortable and full of character. It was in a quiet location and we had a good night's sleep. We had a delicious breakfast and dinner. Thank you.
Cons: The steps leading up to the property didn't have railings so were difficult for my elderly parents to manage, as were the main curved staircase (In fairness, the main stairs were stated in the details). There was nothing much to the village - no where to walk or get a drink. We had a beautifully prepared dinner but there was a distinct lack of vegetables or salad!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay. Would gladly visit again. Hosts were very accommodating and friendly. Lovely building full of charm and identity. Excellent location to visit other places of interest within this region of France. Perhaps the WiFi strength could be improved a little but still was a perfect place for us to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bedroom was gorgeous (had so many thoughtful touches eg water, coffee/tea) and the owner was extremely welcoming and friendly. We had a great time. Dinner was delicious too. Thoroughly recommend the place.
6.3 Good
Pros: The breakfast was good and the decor in the breakfast room was fun, plus the garden was nice.
Cons: I found the place rather oppressive, the bed and bed linen was very uncomfortable and I slept badly

Chateau De Montreuil - Montreuil - Building
10
9.0 Excellent (264 reviews)

7.9 Good
Pros: Location is brilliant, rooms are lovely if a little tired and the grounds were fabulous
Cons: Dinner was over fussy and expensive as was the wine, a 3 course meal with 1 bottle of the least expensive wines was nearly 300 euros for 2 people
6.7 Good
Pros: The room was quiet, clean, light and airy and the bed was very comfortable.
Cons: The restaurant is expensive and so one would expect a quality service but it was severely lacking, especially when my partner had his dinner plate removed before he had finished his meal. Also, check in was at 3pm and we arrived at 3.30pm and our room was not ready until 4.30pm. It could be worthy of the price paid for it but needs to up its game to do so.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place to stay, will book again in the future. Food we had was fabulous.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious, comfortable room, excellent en suite facilities. Dinner and breakfast both extremely good, excellent wine list
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Good breakfast, room OK, but the bedroom area is generally in need of a little refurbishment.
Cons: We visited this hotel 30 years ago as newly weds, so our return trip was something of an anniversary. Although the quality of the food was excellent, the whole occasion was ruined by the owner loudly greeting and partying with his own guests in the adjacent lounge. Their noise and conversation subject matter were intrusive and wholly inappropriate, more akin to the noise of a bar or café. When you pay over 600 euros for the food, wine and bedroom, it felt like a real kick in the teeth.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful surroundings, excellent food and caring staff
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very French and elegant room very spacious even had a dressing room bathroom huge with both shower and bath
Cons: Nothing it was perfect

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful combination of the old and new. Very welcoming staff.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Buffet breakfast in the old restaurant area was adequate - a decent selection but nothing outstanding. Very pleasant waitress. Food and wine selection in the main restaurant was good.
Cons: Entrance to the car park is extremely tight - retract your mirrors! I left a couple of notes in the small staff gratuity piggy bank on the reception desk and these were appropriated by the receptionist (?) very quickly. Suggest a larger and more secure method of rewarding all staff.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely people, the restaurant was fabulous, the bar spacious and friendly.
Cons: They could update (at least room 9) and make sure things are working well. What is the point of tea and coffee making with no milk?
8.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast good, restaurant superb.
Cons: Room was basic, perhaps needs a refurb.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Locationfred
Cons: Opposite the launderette, just as we wanted.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions . This year it has a revamp. The old dining room is now the breakfast room and a new dining room built probably incorporating the old breakfast room. The car park is smaller. Rooms are modern and comfortable . Food is of a high standard. An addition this year is two electrical charging points for cars.
Cons: Nothing . I would recommend booking parking as space is limited.
7.1 Good
Pros: Comfortable bed. Good location in town and access to Eurotunnel
Cons: Cramped overheated room. Staff not very interested in guests. No patisserie for breakfast.

Cons: 2 bottles of water in room for 2 not just one.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, so peaceful
Cons: Could have more choice with the breakfast and a different menu for lunch and dinner
7.9 Good
Pros: The Auberge d'Inxent is a lovely characterful inn with a relaxed atmosphere, attentive staff and delicious food. We particularly enjoyed our evening meal. The inn is a little way off the beaten track but still quite convenient for overnighting near Calais if travelling along the A16. Convenient free parking opposite the inn.
Cons: The bathrooms are a little basic but perfectly adequate and very clean. Breakfast, although lovely (e.g. freshly squeezed orange juice), was a bit on the pricey side (€12) for a Continental breakfast.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely characterful auberge located in a quiet village. Parking is available opposite the auberge. The appearance of the bedroom and en suite facilities is so in keeping with traditional rural auberges it creates atmospheric nostalgia.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A superb cuisine, with wonderful fresh local produce and perfect cooking. Excellent wine list. Charming, simple restaurant. Rooms, cozy, comfortable, old fashioned, adequate and simply furnished.

Pros: The hotel was absolutely beautiful in a very rural part of France... We wish we had stayed for a few more nights
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very attractive accommodation in an unexpectedly lovely northern French village. Warm welcome and good attention from owners.
Cons: Very poor WiFi connection. We would prefer stand up shower facility.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and new, easy to find/ample safe parking. Near a village. Staff lovely.
Cons: It was very hot in the rafters only one room had an air conditioning fan. Breakfast a little on the expensive side particularly if you don’t eat much. They did halve it for twins tho.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was really clean, comfortable and we were made to feel welcome. The beds were comfortable, there was a little fridge in the room and a spacious and newly refurbished bathroom.
Cons: The price for three continental breakfasts came to 28.5 euros, which we could have gone out for much better value or found a bakery in Montreuil. There was a reasonable selection but because it was quiet, it felt and looked a bit sad.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Hospitable staff. Really interesting building, lovely breakfast area, attractive grounds, pretty village.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing Welcome. The couple that own this property are so friendly. It was amazing to be welcomed into the barn to eat our evening food because it started raining and they allowed us to watch the rugby World Cup match there too.
Cons: We don’t have any bad things to say but if we were to be highly critical we would suggest tea facilities in the room.

Our beauty center will make you spend a pleasant moment of relaxation before having dinner at the restaurant 'ANECDOTE' where the chef will make you discover his creations made with fresh products and finish your evening in our very 'British' style bar. For your professional weekends or your study days, seminary rooms and lounges equipped with communication tools are at your disposal. We are within driving distance from the beach, scenic hiking, day-long canoe touring, canoeing, nine golf courses, and fishing. The valley is also well known for its heritage castles, manors, churches, watermills, houses and farms made of cob.

7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast was a very comprehensive continental meal, with choice of cold meats, cheese etc. as well as cereals and French breads.
Cons: The heating system was very noisy with pipes expanding and clicking during the night. ( we were in the chamber historique, previously we have stayed in the suite directiore, with no such problem) This made for an unsettled night

Cons: Can't think of anything. We only stayed one night.

Pros: Breakfast excellent Couldn'r enjoy the garden and surroundings because of the torrential rain
7.0 Good
Pros: For us, location was excellent, although parking could be problematic. The layout of the hotel was quirky and unexpected, but tolerable for a couple of nights. The room was huge and well equipped, but our sleep was disturbed by creaking floorboards in the room above. Breakfast was adequate, but not great: eg, coffee came from a thermos flask. Our welcome (once we'd worked out which button to press on the locked front door) was friendly, but the staff at breakfast were uncommunicative, making it a rather poor experience.
Cons: See above.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Interesting old building and quirky layout and furnishings. Excellent breakfast. Very pleasant and attentive owner. Quiet location on the outskirts.
Cons: It would be a bit of a hike uphill into the town. We chickened out and drove up.

7.9 Good
Pros: The Auberge d'Inxent is a lovely characterful inn with a relaxed atmosphere, attentive staff and delicious food.
Cons: Breakfast was originally not offered before 9am. We had a tunnel crossing to catch and had to ask for it to be brought forward to 8am.
