The whole experience was relaxing and enjoyable. Our room, with a view of the sea, was a really nice size and very clean. My husband particularly enjoyed the 'full English' breakfast! The only thing would be more parking space.
very friendly owners.great room .lovely breakfast.perfect place to stay will be going back.
The owners are really helpful and kind. They do everything they can to make you feel at home. The breakfast is also very good, with a selection of cooked and non-cooked options. Check-out was very early (10:00 to 10:30am). However, we left a bit later (around 10:50) and it wasn't a problem. Since we were leaving Lowestoft only in the evening, we were welcomed in the afternoon for tea :) . Breakfast was also quite early for me for a weekend (7:30 to 9:00).
The hosts Ann & Colin made us feel very welcome. They certainly have decorated the place very well and obviously take pleasure in giving customers very good service.
the qauint and edwardian style of rooms. Impresive breakfast menu, plenty to eat and beautifully cooked which is hard to maintain when cooking on a large scale. It had the impression that it was a "family run" business with the usual nick nacks of family life - photographs etc which made the hotel feel like it was a warm and welcoming home. It had the personal touch which is absent in many hotel chains these days. The windows over the bed got a little draughty duriing the night. However there were radiators and an extra heater supplied which kept the overall room temperture constant. The matress bowed in towards the middle of the bed making it somewhat uncomfortable. However, I am being somewhat critical as the rest of our stay was excellent value of money. Unfortunately, we stayed in the middle of November so our experience of the resort of Lowestoft is marred. For a once and prosperous resort, I felt it had lost some of its finery and the buidlings further down the town looked in desperate need of repair, but this is true of many british seaside towns.
Very friendly stay. Affordable luxury with historical interest.
The room was very comfortable, as was the bed. amenities were excellent
The Victotian decor to the rooms & hotel in general. Rooms were very comfortable No evening meal or bar. Could also do with a desk or small table in the room.
Lovely stay, very welcoming
Decoration, Cleanliness, attention to detail, Service and the Breakfast. Could not drink the water in the room, and the bed sagged in the middle making it quite uncomfortable and very noisy at every movement. (Chopin Room)
Supremely comfortable with breakfasts to die for!
all areas were clean and tidy and the owners were very welcoming and hospitable
What can I say?? The owners went out of there way to take us to places and pick us up again. They picked us up from the coach station and dropped us off there again. They were exceptional owners! I have never met such friendly people and what a service!! Definatley be staying at this hotel again!
the room was first class, we were able to relax and unwind, breakfast was delicious. will stay again soon
We stayed in the king size room with attached bedroom that had twin bunk beds for out two children. Room was large space for our family of 4, breakfast was good (made to order), and owners friendly.
very friendly and lovely people working there
Looking at the sites and walking around
Friendly, unobstrusive owners! Excellent breakfasts! Close to town and to beach. No parking at guest house, although parking permits were given free, actual spaces were limited (and this was winter)
the warm welcome and staff All fine
good breakfast and and made to feel very welcome. excelent drop of and pick up from races. found twin room bit small and no bath just shower
Owner made us very welcome hot drink after a long drive. Hospitable throughout our stay. Tasty breakfast. Lovely, clean and comfortable room. Tony and Sandie are really good hosts. Private parking area could have been cleaner. Had been fouled by dogs so my husband had to drive forward so I could get in the car without stepping in the mess.
