The views are wonderful from the rooms There was no bar, no facilities, breakfast very poor for a 4* hotel staff unfriendly
The view from the hotel, the calm The noise from the refrigerator
the view Steps to room
Site and surroundings Not enough staff
Excellent position.Full of character and charm. Hotel staff appeared disinterested and preoccupied in business other than guests.
I enjoyed the kind staff, the gardens, the views from the family room's balconies and the privacy of the family room.
The staff is very friendly and the facilities are confortable. Breakfast is also very good. The view from the pool / garden is marvelous.
Location! You can see a peaceful landscape of Alentejo from your window. It was a luxurious-cottage-like. It has stoned=floor. It was nice but a bit bad for my backache.
Great accommodation- very comfortable with spacious areas! Lovely views of the country. It was our second visit and we will certainly be back again...
A lovely spacious and modern apartment with well equipped kitchenette. Fabulous views and surroundings. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. We are planning a return trip in the summer!
Great Breakfast, full of local product and yet a diverse one. Well equipped apartment, very clean, very friendly staff. a good experience
Vila Planicie is in a wonderful location with views of Monsaraz. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Our studio was a good size, very clean, and had good quality linen and furnishings. Breakfast good and regularly replenished. A very peaceful and enjoyable stay.
The villas & breakfast No internet/wifi
quiet surroundings, two outdoor pools, close to Monsaraz, vineyards, and lake activities.
good facilities, great self contained unit, had all kitchen utensils.Brilliant area, great scenery near by. Animals nearby, lots of flies
Nice hotel, very helpful stuff. Personel of the hotel arranged the New Year party for our family. Great place to start exploring Monsaraz area.
Very clean and beautiful rooms. Extremely quiet and beautiful view on Monsaraz. Clean and refreshing swimming pool. Good breakfast. Maybe a bit expensive for its location.
special location and style, local food
Everything about the hotel was superlative, from the location, to the quality of the rooms, the setting of the gardens, and the helpfulness of the staff. except . . . . . . the restaurant was closed!!! We went searching for an evening meal in Monsaraz and other places locally, but all the restaurants were closed, except for one or two cafes, where we would not have felt at home as foreign tourists. Eventually we found a supermarket in Reguengos, several miles away, where we bought some basic items to eat on our room terrace. Not the evening we had hoped for, and very disappointing.
Beautifully designed hotel in lovely countryside setting, with rooms in well-spaced-out single storey blocks. Very spacious bedrooms and bathrooms as well as communal areas. Helpful and welcoming staff. Although close to Monsaraz, it was a little bit isolated and appeared to lack nearby restaurants/bars.
The peace and quiet. The location Restaurent needs a makeover. On 2 nights it was closed,
visiting the lake and surrounding towns
The place was amazing, the quite and the conditions were great, I want to repeat this experience on holidays. The late time of the breakfast, for someone that was working, serving at 9 a.m. was late, but for someone on holidays, it's a great hour.
Beautiful location. Friendly Staff. Very nicely restored but still traditional. Pool area was not that great but we believe it is to be updated soon. Some parts of the gardens bit shabby especially by the carparking area near the restaurant where there were bottles and rubbish laying around.
Hospitality, friendly staff, easy to find by car & private parking.
I think the breakfast could be better, mainly using more local products
The location, comfort and peaceful surroundings. The breakfast you serve is quite acceptable, but the young lady who is doing it leaves a lot to desire. She seemed to arrive late then rushed to open, late, had not checked what was needed I had to ring all three mornings to ask for something, she should be in attendance.
the character of the hotel and the central location no restaurant when we stayed
The hotel is part of the city wall in a very old building that has been very tastefully adapted and decorated. Delightful terrace and gardens. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with an excellent bathroom. The bar and restaurant were closed. We had to ask twice for extra pillows and we asked for a bedside lamp to be fixed and nothing happened. The reception desk was often unmanned.
Its quality and character. Very generous room,
the location was perfect for wandering around old the walled city of Elvas with lovely views of the viaduct and old fortress from the elevated pool area. Although the hotel was full the restaurant was closed. We arrived tired after a long drive and really didn't want to have to wander around the streets looking for somewhere to have dinner.
Nice balcony and close to town.
Diffucult to ind
Our room is very spacious but the layout is akward. Though the structure and design of the hotel are weired, it is generally a comfortable hotel. Being a part of the wall of Elvas, the hotel is suitable travellers that would like to experience portugese style. I think the hotel just needs more light. At night, the passege of the first floor is too dark and looks really scrary.
The hotel building is charming and attractive. We had a very pleasant stay, the hotel is quiet and comfortable. The staff is helpful. The north view is spectacular. The pool area although small is nice and relaxing. The phone and the radio didn't work. The tv channels were all mixed up. Apart from that, no problems at all.
Only bad point is that tom tom gps positions the hotel (using the published address)in a village 15 km away. Aapparently this is a recurring problem
interesting location Bedroom inadequately lit. Buffet breakfast and service poor. Hotel not up to 4 star standard
Location, staff and rooms are simply charming, the surrounding countryside beautiful. The house is quiet and secluded and yet it is close to Evora and some of the most beautiful locations in Portugal, along the Guadiana Valley. A place anyone should visit and stay in once in one's life ...
The Horta is a luxurious ranch style building set amongst 800 acres of game reserve and vine with extensive gardens and pool and accomodates either groups in up to ten double rooms or single long or short bookings. The gem is Maria who is a local girl who provides a quiet unobtrusive service to her guests. The Horta is situated in remote countryside but within striking distance of all mjor towns on intrest and close to Evora. A real treat. Nothing
Good clean hotel. Well positioned for walking to the historic centre. Well priced. Avoid the coffee at breakfast.
Location and helpfulness of staff. Great views of the city's Amoreira Aqueduct. Slightly dated decor (e.g. bathroom with black tiles), brown furnishings though clean.
excellent breakfast, clean, close city center, easy parking
A good stay, nice area, would stay here again.
it was very clean and the pool was a treat, the bedroom and facilities were good and breakfast was great. no
Just front of monument and very near to historical city center. Facilities are clean and good. Room is enough large. Staffs are very kind and freindly. Breakfast is good. Just near by national road, so a little noizy.
Location. Breakfast... Under Construction in most of the rooms. Some day will be an excellent hotel, but now you will not enjoy it completly.
Perfect location, free parking, pleasant and helpful staff
the price of the meals
relaxing and easy access to the town
The staff was very helpful answering all of our questions and providing things like ice upon request
Spacious room, nice swimming pool, good breakfast improve cleanliness of garden
A great place for resting, although a little bit faraway from the town, in a rural area
A nice, quite place , away from the city in a country estate. Nice breakfast with good selection. Staff very professional. My room had a door to the adjacent room (locked) and everything can be heard . Fortunately, my neighbors were quite most of the time.
The facilities and the green spaces to straw
Quiet location near the city.
use of internet, the gardens, the arquitecture, friendly staff poor breakfast, poor road access
Quinta is a quite nice place, very well located and a beautiful way to relax in the countryside. The fact that all facilities are included in the price is a plus. Rooms are also large and very confortable. The new room area is built in a way different than the main building, which was a poor design choice. Garden was under maintenance, which also limited our possibilities. Finally, breakfast was not compatible with a 5-star hotel.
It is located in a rural area and is very quiet. There is a lot of open space outside. The staff are very helpful No
A brilliant location and very well maintained. Lovely buildings and truly excellent value for money. Situated about 15 minutes out of town, in a peaceful spot in the centre of farmland.
The faded elegance. The 5* star rating ! No better than 3*. Not even a full length mirror in the bedroom.
