8.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic, almost gothic mansion, high ceilings, huge amount of room. Stuffed with shooting trophies, which may upset some, but - hey - they are from another era. Easy walk into town. Very quiet. Exceptionally helpful staff.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were motorcycling further in to France so stayed here on they way down and on the way back. The accommodation is a very interesting and beautiful building. The room was comfortable and very clean. We booked in for evening meal too and this was cooked by the host using local ingredients and vegetables from his garden. Both evening meals were fabulous. Breakfast was nice and fresh but basically bread, pastries and yoghurt. Food is served around one large table so it means you get to interact with the other guests, and in our case, we had quite a bit of fun. Mouzon has a river and a small abbey garden with a pond, and we enjoyed walking around the small town to stretch our legs. We would gladly return when motorcycling in that region again.
Cons: I would like to suggest that the bedrooms had hand soap and also glasses for water in the night.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The house was very clean and kept very well. Great location- nearby town of Mouzon was lovely for a walk around and the house was only quick car journeys from other places to visit
Cons: N/a
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was perfect for a last minute decision to stay in the area.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are very clean and the entire building is very intriguing.
Cons: The breakfast was not continental as described
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Character and elegance of the manoir, exquisite decor all in keeping with the era. We enjoyed sitting on the terrasse by the river in the evenings and the odd game of pool in the safari room.
Cons: No choice of restaurant in the village. Insufficient information about local facilities.
7.1 Good
Pros: The house is very grand with fine furnishings and very interesting relics. It is of historic interest without doubt. The staff were helpful and kind. Breakfast was an excellent selection of pastries and the usual cheese and breads.
Cons: It cannot really be described as a hotel as there is no provision of food or drink outside of the breakfast times. There is not even a glass in the room to allow a drink of water from the tap. The local town is pleasant but the option of food is limited most of the time to cheap take away food. All the food outlets and bars were closed the day I visited. So no food or drink for me on the evening I arrived.

Cons: Doors stick and hard to enter. After practice works fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Reception and staff very helpful and friendly. Room comfortable and clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Standard continental breakfast which was fine. The restaurant food was excellent and the service from the owner was fabulous. the room overlooked the street which looked like a film set. It is a few metres away from the amazing fort. We both commented that it felt like the most French town we have ever visited!! Be aware that there isnt much English spoken at the hotel or in the town (which was good for my schoolboy French!!).
6.7 Good
Pros: The beds were comfortable and the hotel is in a quiet part of the town
Cons: Unfortunately our room was dark and somewhat tired Most of all it smelt has though someone had been smoking in it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything staff 110 percent room 110 percent
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is run by beautiful, kind people
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great. Parking was easy. Our room was of a decent size. The proprietor was helpful and friendly. The are was quiet. Good value.
Cons: The internet was a bit of a challenge for someone who doesn't read French well. Breakfast was fairly basic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Secure Motorcycle parking in their Courtyard
Cons: You need to book up in advance of your stay if you like to use the Restaurant because they cannot always fit you in.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: LOVEY
Cons: BREAKFAST NOT REALLY THAT GREAT
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Character and style of the hotel. Excellent dinner and breakfast.
Cons: The difficulty in gaining access to the laundry room to use the dryer. It is more expensive than other similar standard hotels.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's a huge castle and the hotel has been creatively worked into the castle.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic position
Cons: The gates were not open at 6pm as they should have been.I had to open them myself in the rain. The receptionist met us at the door smoking a cigarette! The wine waiter was off hand and didnt check our croze hermitage ( not a cheap wine) properly
6.7 Good
Pros: The fantastic location actually in the ancient fort itself. The room was large and simply furnished we were in 609 a superior room. Which had two entrances one from inside the hotel the other ‘front door’ was a drive up through the fort to a parking area. You could feel the history. Very quirky.
Cons: Do NOT stay past the 4th floor if you are not fit or don’t want to drive up and down every time you go out. There is a lift but only to the 4th floor, because if you are past that for example you have to walk the entire length of the hotel then climb up 9 flights of stairs which takes you up three floors to our room in the gods. You must pre-book dinner if you want it in the hotel, we wanted to but the dining room was already full because they had a group in, so we had to find a nice restaurant in town, about a 15 minute walk from room 609. We went to Le Prétexte which was good tasty food reasonably priced.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was good for our trip to Roermond our extended stay location. The Château le Fort was perfect. We booked a room at the top with out doors on a level and drove around so we parked just outside. Very handy for unpacking and our two small dogs. No charge for dogs. The room was spacious and we had a superking sized bed.
Cons: Not bright enough lighting in the room A bath but not a separate shower.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location inside the walls of the castle in Sedan and you can park inside the walls too! Very unusual hotel, mixture of old building and modern interior ( apparently a converted prison!)
Cons: Very disappointing restaurant; food was cold and poor quality for the price Not a lot to see or do in Sedan itself but of course the surrounding countryside is lovely and steeped in history

7.5 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Dining room closed so no dinner!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location to the town and main roads.
7.9 Good
Pros: Lovely friendly staff, clean and very functional room. Good breakfast, not as good though as it is in the pics in the brochure which was a bit misleading. Nice picnic areas, parking nice and close to hotel.
Cons: It was grey and bleak and could’ve done with some flowers etc particularly at the back as it looked a bit prison-like.

Chateau De Bazeilles - Bazeilles - Building
6
7.5 Good (89 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Chateau de Bazeilles in Bazeilles, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Sedan Botanic Gardens and Chateau de Sedan. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: room
Cons: breakfast
4.6 Okay
Pros: The property is located on the estate of the chateau which was wonderful to walk in the gardens or see the morning sun the gardens. Slept very well in the bed.
Cons: The property has lost its charm and passion for the hotel business. There was food from the day before in the breakfast area, papers under the bed, dirty couch in the bedroom, lots of dust in the room and common areas, etc. Let’s say a woman’s influence was missing in the general management of the hotel. If this would have been there, the arranged price would have been fair. It would be sad to see this hotel going to waste and that passion wouldn’t be restored. The chateau itself seemed to be under construction since a while but hopefully an investor can be found to restore it in its former glory and perhaps have the hotel based inside the chateau. We would have been more then happy to pay more for our stay if this ever becomes the case.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and extremely reasonably priced. Grounds are beautiful and Monsieur extremely helpful & knowledgeable, especially to recommend dinner as no restaurant on site.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Cosy room. ideal for what I was expecting for a night with my son.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Very easy to find and the room was clean!
Cons: Very small bathroom and bed a bit small for a double!
5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff
Cons: Rooms too small;
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed very helpful and friendly staff breakfast not bad enough choice for us and coffee in the room too
Cons: Room a bit small, could do with 2 chairs not just one small chair
7.1 Good
Pros: Price. Ground floor. Large window. Clean.
Cons: Parisian sized room. Room located next to lobby where numerous guests were up late socializing very loudly, even when hotel staff were present at front desk. Claimed they accepted English speaking guests, but front staff did not speak any English. Room only had one pillow and required asking twice (thank goodness for Google translation) as despite saying they understood, failed to obtain a second pillow (even after hours and additional staff were visible)
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location, good price, friendly staff. Interesting pillow! It looked at first like a nasty little brick but it was actually a really comfortable, memory foam one!
Cons: I’m afraid breakfast was dire. The scrambled egg was probably powdered and it could easily have been mistaken for sticky porridge. Genuine fresh orange juice was the only positive here.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Parking is free and at the hotel
Cons: The hotel was loud, rooms small, pillows yellow form the sweat and employees speaking French while to some Asian tourists who gave a tip they spoke English
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very good hotel, friendly atmosphere, nice and clean rooms. Can hear the noise from other rooms if they are talking loud. I would definitely recommend the place.

Also the overall aspect of the Hotel is a mixture of nice Deco with very bad tasted plastic things. The hotel has also 3 large party rooms.
