Pros: We received a lovely warm welcome on what was a very cold and wet day. A beautiful property with lovely cosy accommodation and little sweet treats in our room. We were travelling from Switzerland to the UK so this was a perfect location. We were very spoilt at breakfast with homemade jams and fruit grown in the garden that was beautifully presented.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Wonderful host who was very knowledgable about the area, best homemade breakfast of our travels round Europe. The apartment was comfortable and had airconditioning. Cons: The surrounding area is very... industrial :-) The distance to Metz is no negative for us: with a car you are there in 10 minutes (easy parking at Place Republique: Metz - sud and follow signs).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Situated in a quiet location, but handy for both Metz and the A4 motorway, this Guest House was perfect. We will definitely book again when visiting Metz.

Pros: Very nice host. Stylish to stay in a castle, although not a fairly tale one that the kids had expected. Perfect place to stay overnight when just stopping by. Breakfast had everything we could ask for except bacon and scrambled eggs.
Cons: A nice area of France although the immediate surroundings was not that exciting.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location nice and quiet
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very Nice clean and brandnew place. Big rooms, we slept there with our 3 kids, perfect.
Cons: Maybe some outside facilities for the kids would be extra nice:)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very nice hotel and the staff is very polite.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The room decor was pleasant. Quiet location.
Cons: The greeting wasn’t very welcoming. The owners were entertaining friends and we felt we were an inconvenience. The main complaint was that we traveled over 500 kilometres only to find there was no where open to get an evening meal. We should have been advised and would not have stayed there. After complaining the wife kindly offered us bread and cheese. We stayed in a number of different locations and this stay had the least appeal and friendly atmosphere. The breakfast lacked imagination.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome. Very comfortable accommodation. Thank-you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Delicious breakfast. Etienne was a fabulous host, nothing was too much trouble - even our very early breakfast. The mini bar in the room was well stocked and not expensive.
Cons: Book a restaurant before hand if you need to as the village is very quiet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very spacious and clean rooms, safe parking. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner, who was helped by his 8-year old daughter. Etienne went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and even though we were stuck in traffic and arrived late, this was no problem. As our youngest put it: “can’t we stay here a bit longer please??” We would definitely recommend staying here!
La Parenthèse - Buchy - Pool

9.8 Excellent (39 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at La Parenthèse in Secourt, you'll be 11 minutes by car from Église Saint-Martin de Sillegny. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and a library. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This B&B has three lovely rooms, nicely decorated and with brandnew amenities. Julie is a lovely and caring host with much attention to detail. The breakfast is of high quality including home-made jams, eggs from the own chickens, freshly squeezed orange juice as well as ham and cheese. Parking on the premises is also available. The B&B is well located to explore Nancy, Metz, Lunéville, Sarreguemines etc.
Cons: The beds in the twin room are unfortunately very narrow. Julie kindly recommended a couple of restaurants to us, which were very nice, but one needs to consider that they are 14 kms away. Our understanding was that there are no restaurants closer to the B&B.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendliness, relaxing setting, nice view over the city attentive and welcoming hostess. If offered an evening meal, it is worth it. Great way to meet fellow travellers.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything was finally ok. I parked my car next to the entrance; the owner was very friendly and helpful, the room was ok, and the breakfast was with no doubt the best thing from all of our stay. You will not be disappointed.
Cons: Actually, it was not what I expected and reserved. I booked Grey Room - "This double room has a private bathroom and a TV." I got another room (described as a double room with two single beds) with neither private bathroom nor TV. It was just a transit stay, so I did not need a TV, and a shared bathroom did not mind us after 11 PM when we had arrived. So, you have to consider that the description of the facilities in the room is actually the description of the facilities in the whole guesthouse. The location is ok if you travel by car, but it is not so easy to park a car there. To sum up, you will not regret your stay there, but the quality/price ratio is not so good as it looks.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is situated on a quiet street and from the front looks like an ordinary French house. The inside and rear garden, however, are far from ordinary. The whole place is charming. Anouck is an extremely friendly and welcoming host and we really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to go back should we visit this part of France again. The town of Metz is only about a ten minute drive, if that, from the premises and is a beautiful and lively place to visit with lots of things to see and plenty of places to eat.
Cons: We liked everything about this establishment
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely loved the stay. This is a proper BNB and a stay I wouldn't trade for anything! Anouck and the Chef were truly exceptional hosts. The advice they gave was priceless. The food and drinks were bliss, and it's prepared before you. If you want to experience the culture and meet some lovely people then do not pass this stay up! The location is also fantastic and the room has a brilliant view of the valley below. There's some nice walking paths that zigzag through the neighborhood that make a great way to see the area. Metz is just down the hill and Nancy is less than an hour away so it's a great start off point.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast after a good night's sleep in a comfy bed
7.5 Good
Pros: friendly staff. assisted check in
Cons: location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: You feel like a guest - very friendly and personal. And the option of having an evening meal was wonderful.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice house with interesting artworks and a very nice garden
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house. Lots of artwork throughout house
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a chambre d’hote of extreme charm, beauty and interest. The house is filled with fascinating and beautiful things lovingly collected. Modern comfort blends with tradition: the last of the village’s wine presses is in the tranquil garden, which still has the opening to the ancient cellar below ground. Breakfast is served on a marble topped oval table, decorated with fruit and fresh flowers, with delicious bread, home made jams, a different cheese each day, ham and coffee drunk from the large traditional French coffee cups, on china which has passed down through the hostess’s family. The owners are extremely kind and friendly, with time to talk and share experiences and a bottle of the wine they produce themselves. We were fortunate to be there on the day of the May 1st festival, Lily of the Valley day, with a wonderful flea market, filled with fascinating and very readonably priced objects from antiques to toys, filling the little village square. The atmosphere was jolly and the air was filled with the acent of lilacs and of of lily of the valley. A very short drive to the lower village allows you to take an easy bus journey into Metz, a very pleasant city to visit, with stunning stained glass windows in the Cathedral. Although a Chambre D’Hote rather than self catering accommodation, the hosts own kitchen is made available to guests who wish to cook for themselves.
Cons: There was nothing I did not like.

Pros: The location is great - everything is easily accessible and a short walk away. The attention to detail was excellent as so were some of the various surprises that are not usually afforded by hosts. Highly recommended
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable room close to train station and restaurants, very friendly host who let us check in a little early as we had backpacks. Overall a excellent place to stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great position near the railway station and easy to walk to the town, Cathedral and river etc. Had everything you would need for a short stay. On 1st floor but there is a lift. Quite nice views of the charming railway station.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I am not really keen on keys to be extracted from a box and not meeting anyone, but it was rather convenient, and Francis is "aux petits soins"

7.1 Good
Pros: Furniture very new and nice Check in automatically.... Big rooms with a lot of space
Cons: Breakfast was not good- coffee didn’t taste good Croissants were not as good as usual in France Milk was empty, Filter of coffee machine was full and no one was there to care for it Couldn’t really check out, nobody came by ringing the bell.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good value for money. Clean proper and simple accomodation. Yunior Suite had a tastefull modern design. Big modern bathroom with shower. Good communication per mail as there was nobody at reception
Cons: Location is a bit remote. The hotel restaurant was closed on Sunday evening. Next open restaurant about 5 km away. No vending machine in the hotel and no staff.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly (but non English speaking) staff. Really nice location not far from the city center of Metz. Clean and spacious room although the bed was a little bit to small. Parking
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The space was great for a family
Cons: The front door large window needs a blind so people outside can not see straight into the living area.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything is renovated and in good condition. Especially the bathroom is very good. There is a coffee machine (and for tea) in the room. For all rooms there is also a practical kitchen in the hallway with a large fridge. Parking is available in front of the house. The breakfast room is bright and nice. The breakfast is fine for the price. Nearby there are beautiful lakes and you are fast in Metz.
Cons: Unfortunately, there was only one blanket. A second blanket would have been handy for the sleeping sofa. You can hear the toilet flush and shower from the neighbor rooms unusually loud and from the street you can hear the cars (but very few cars drive here at night). Otherwise it is a very quiet area.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff! They really really went out of their way to help us - even when we had major problems with our car.

Pros: We booked this at about 7pm on the night we were staying and the owner both answered the phone when we called to ask exactly where he was (about 50 yards behind us the other side of the village square as it turned out) and was very cheerful and accommodating even though someone ele had also turned up at the same tiem. We asked for and got an earlry breakfast which was great. The bread was wonderfully fresh, the croissants gorgeous and a range of home made jams. The owner speaks little English but did his best. He speaks german as well as French. My room had a separate private bathroom with a bath which after a longish trip was welcome. Very friendly.
Cons: It was all good

5.8 Okay
Pros: Comfortable bed, quite at night
Cons: It's maximum 2 stars- Maximum. Little bit better, then formula 1, but basically the same, just much more expensive. Room is very small. Breakfast is very simple- bread, butter, nutella, some yogurt and omlette (9 30 there was no anymore omlette, breakfast till 10 00).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Welcomed late at night by a pleasant and helpful receptionist. Nice, very clean and comfortable room and very adequate breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I loved the staff. The hotel was nice and spacious, but the people inside made the difference. Kind, friendly, ready to give you the right information, smiling. We felt welcome from the first day.
Cons: It was all as described.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I used it as a stop over, it is situated very close to the motorway. Building pretty new, and i could barely hear noise from the corridor/other rooms. staff was friendly. closed parking lot
10.0 Excellent
Pros: good location
Cons: nothing
5.8 Okay
Pros: Not a lot!!
Cons: The list is extensive. I had one of the double family rooms and so many things were wrong... No mirror in the main bedroom so you had to use the one in the second bedroom which was blocked by the bed so unusable. The shower is fixed and points straight down at the tap which you end up keep knocking when you showering, absolute nightmare! Toilet half hanging off because of poor fitment, this is a new hotel as well! Master bedroom TV unwatchable in its location, no adjustable bracket which it needs. Units next to beds a head injury hazard Tap to close to the mirror, keep catching hand on mirror. Same issue with Aircon at most French hotels in the winter, set to hear only, so if you want cooling you have have to open the window and it's and extremely busy and noisy road. Breakfast room is very cramped and choice extremely limited. I didn't like the new door locks, they are code entry, someone could easily watch you tap in the code and then enter after you leave Toilet roll holder to close to toilet, digs in your side. Towel holder way, way to close to toilet. I've never seen a new hotel so poorly thought through, I don't think it was built for Campanile and they must have purchased an almost finished hotel No electric car Charing or offer to plug in anywhere even though I suggested a perfect location which would have worked.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a clean, modern hotel with free gated parking. The rooms are small but adequate. The breakfast was very good too. I think this is a good value for the money.
Cons: The hotel isn't close to anything, so walking to any activities is out of the question. If you drive into Metz you will need to find a parking place which is almost impossible. I think public transportation is available.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good cheerful staff, reception particularly good. When you get across the road, resturaunt is exceĺlent.
Cons: No evening meals on site ,have to cross unlit main road to eat.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, spacious, comfortable, quiet room with a decent walk in shower. Smiling and efficient reception staff, who gave us a 10% voucher for La Boucherie restaurant literally across the road which was an American style steak house. An added bonus for us was the hotel and car park were in a gated complex. Breakfast - a very good choice of fresh fruit, pastries, cakes, cereals, rolls, toast as well as bacon and scrambled egg. Delicious! There is not much is this area for ‘sightseeing! but great for a stopover, very happy! Thank you!
Cons: The only thing were two single use plastic bottles of shower gel. Unnecessary as there was already a guest bar of soap and in the shower affixed to the wall a shower/shampoo gel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect for an overnight stop where the location wasn’t important. Excellent breakfast, including fruit salad, eggs and bacon. Lovely staff. 10% discount at the ( only) local restaurant.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: High quality accommodation and ditto food/ service
Cons: poss need a kettle in room and English language tv channels...not a deal breaker
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very quiet town, but this hotel/restaurant is worth it for the food and the 20 minutes drive into Metz, which is delightfull. But most of all, the food is exceptional - we ate there two nights running and were delighted - the tasting menu is excellent, couldn't fault it.
Cons: Breakfast, not so good as you more or less have to fend for yourself and one of the guests spent 15 minutes trying to fix the coffee machine, and the second day (Monday) there was no baguette. However, forget that just go for the food, you will not be disappointed.
7.1 Good
Pros: Great facilities - the pool is lovely but quite dirty.
Cons: Our apartment was not well maintained for the £300 a night price tag. At £100 each for bed only the experience needs to be amazing. The balcony was fun. I can imagine this apartment being special in the winter with the fire lit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was superb! Right in the middle of the city and beautifully furnished.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location (5 mins from the A4) but very quiet and rural. Wonderful, spacious rooms with all the mod cons. Pretty garden at the back of the hotel and easy to walk the dog down a quiet lane both in the evening and the next morning. We had a great dinner and appreciated having a quality restaurant on site. Staff were all extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Cons: Our only criticism would be the extreme level of self-service expected of guests at breakfast. There was a delightful girl drifting in and out (but never there when you needed her) who was expected to man the reception area downstairs and the upstairs breakfast area at the same time, hence she was often absent. There was no bread, only rolls, which I proceeded to slice up (very badly) using a butter knife to make toast. The toaster looked like an aeroplane flight deck and completely flummoxed my 80 year old Mum. She couldn't work out the coffee machine either, so I had to make her coffee myself. The only cooked breakfast offered was boiled eggs which we were also expected to cook ourselves with no assistance and insufficient kitchen utensils. The final result was that breakfast took over an hour to get through with me spending most of my time on my feet at the breakfast buffet preparing toast, eggs and hot drinks for my mother and teenage daughter. At 15 Euros each, not exactly the level of service or quality of ingredients I would have expected.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect for an overnight stay in the area. Ample free parking. The food was copious & reflected the local terroir. The homemade terrine is not to be missed. The wine list is extensive & their award winning sommelier, Cyrille, is a font of knowledge. The staff were all delightful, especially the welcoming receptionist, Ness, with her charming smile. She could not have been more helpful & is such an asset to the hotel.
Cons: Nothing! We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Pros: Really good hotel. Clean. Great location. Close to Pompidou museum and amazing park for running. Easy checkin/out.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Basic, clean and suitable. Also very quiet given the hotel is next store to the railway station. Front desk staff very helpful and friendly. Quick and efficient checkin/checkout.
Cons: So-so breakfast, also basic but adequate. Staff there not so friendly. What’s with the fake scrambled eggs????
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was basic, but extremely convenient for our short stay in Metz. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating as well.
Cons: The parking arrangement was a little inconvenient. Although the lot was close by, the discounted price required redeeming a voucher at the garage, which was not possible on one of the days of our stay, because the garage office is not continuously occupied.
Hôtel La Citadelle Metz - Mgallery - Metz - Building

8.5 Excellent (2,381 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Opened in 2005, Hotel de la Citadelle, near the historic and cultural heart of Metz, is worthy of top recognition for high-end hotels. A large military building, built in 1559 to preserve Metz square, conquered by King Henry II. This simple and pure building has 68 rooms: 2 suites, 4 meeting rooms, 1 lounge bar, 1 gourmet Michelin starred restaurant "le Magasin aux vivres", directed by Christophe Fosse.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The tea in the bedrooms was very bad. Give a choice ok exotic( you did) and proper breakfast tea
Cons: See above
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Ideally situated, spacious room, huge and very comfortable bed, nice in-house restaurants.
Cons: Maybe the staff could be that bit more attentive, they sometimes made us feel a bit as a disturbance or distraction. I‘ve seen more contemporary bathrooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The building is 500 yrs old and was built as part of a military fort. The rehab is very new and has five star furnishings, finishes, accommodations and services. The staff was ultra friendly and could not have been more helpful. Short stroll to town (5 min) and Metz is very cool.
Cons: Nothing to complain about. And I'm normally a grumpy old man about things
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel in the perfect location. Parking was available on the property at additional cost. Highly recommend this hotel.
Cons: Nothing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Reception and bar staff were especially helpful, kind and fun.
Cons: The bathroom tub design was unusual and, potentially, unsafe — at least for seniors. The design resulted in shower spray going all over the bathroom. Nothing to hold on to while getting into the deep tub. Also - the stair elevator at the front door was inoperable the whole time we were there. Staff helped with suitcases but stairs were still problematic for friends with a disability.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The room was spacious. Good location. Lovely building.
Cons: Could do with a little updating and the room could have been cleaner. There was plenty of parking and it was a shame that we had to pay extra for this.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location with easy access to city center!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all extremely helpful and polite. Breakfast every morning was great. We had dinner in the dinning room on our first night, it was very good, We didn't want much to eat on the consecutive nights, so we just snacked on crackers in the room. We enjoyed the separate area by the bathroom for privacy in changing clothes. We enjoyed the view from our window.
Cons: The bathtub was not accessible to my elderly father. He had to bathe at the sink each day.

Cons: Everything excellent
8.0 Excellent
Pros: New and in good condition. A couple of restaurants nearby.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: My stay more than met my expectations. I booked quite late because, as a motorcyclist, I wasn't sure how far I'd get before I needed to stop for the night. The room was clean and very comfortable. The bathroom facilities were as expected and the breakfast set me up well the following morning. The on-site parking was a real bonus.
Cons: The location was a little hard to find at night, however the directions were fairly clear. The late night food and drink selection could be better, however I was served a much needed beer on arrival, so all was well!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect for a quick stop over while travelling through France. B&B's family rooms are great - clean & spacious. We didn't book breakfast but nice that the hotel had a bar and terrace area & all staff we spoke with were friendly and welcoming.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was clean new and fresh looking. We arrived late and it was not a problem. Right next door was a choice of two lovely restaurants one pizza pasta that was outstanding the other a bit more fine dining.
Cons: Nothing
