Pros: Beautiful country setting. We enjoyed the spacious Emerson Pool Suite. Excellent breakfast on the porch. The downstairs club room is awesome Wonderful hosts.
Pros: The location was beautiful, peaceful with a big front porch to sit on and marvel at the the beauty of nature.
Cons: I like the scenery, I liked the country farm house, I liked the decor, I liked the the cleanliness, I liked the food and I liked the hospitality offered by the innkeepers. It was the BEST!
Pros: Location is about an hour from Shenandoah National Park, with a relaxing drive through the countryside. The property and room are absolutely stunning. The Walt Whitman Grande Suite is ideal for a romantic getaway, even if it's only for one night. The private hot tub alone is worth it. The staff and owner were amazingly friendly. Breakfast was freshly made and delicious. We stayed for 2 nights and wished we didn't have to leave at all. Can't recommend this place enough and we hope to make it back soon!
Cons: There was nothing we didn't like.
Pros: The country location but this was also a negative as the venue did not serve dinner and we had to drive 15 minutesi into town to dine
Cons: Bedroom lighting was too dull so difficult to find things in the suitcase and to apply makeup in the barhroom
Pros: Loved Andi. Breakfast was great and presentation made you feel like you were at a 5 star restaurant. We were lost and Andi really helped us even offered to come and get us . The house and acreage was beautiful even down to their rare
Cons: Do not like that you are 8 hours via car from us
Pros: There is nothing not to like about Walden Hall. We cannot say one negative thing. Top notch modern clean property. A movie room, air hockey and cigars. Beautiful views off the porch. They even have a fire pit and fishing pond and fishing poles if you like. We will definitely visit again.

Pros: We were delighted to stay here! The interior is just beautful, the beds are comfy, the rooms big, the breakfast offers everything you wish for, the owner Steve is very friendly and helpful. There´s even a pool table in the sun room :-) There´s easy parking on the street just outside and you can walk in a about five minutes to the Culpepper town center.
Pros: Charming B&B just a few blocks from downtown Culpeper. The host, Steven, was very friendly and helpful. Arrived late, headed for dinner in a nice, nearby restaurant, watched some TV in the shared living room, and went to sleep in the big, comfortable bed. Prepared myself a nice breakfast in the morning.
Cons: You have to realize it’s a B&B, and there’s a shared bathroom at the end of the hallway.
Pros: Beautiful building very well decorated and very welcoming. Stephen was an amazing host, really friendly and made us feel at home straight away. Bed was comfy looooaaads of space. All topped with an excellent spread of food and drinks for breakfast. Would definitely go back. The town is also pretty cool and only a short walk away.

Welcome to the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites! Discover the true lake experience at Lake Pelham Adventures Park. Lake Pelham Adventures is located at The Ole Country Store & Bakery, off of Route 29 south in Culpeper. They offer canoe, kayak, paddle board and paddle boat rentals. These rentals are a perfect way to spend a warm day. There's no denying it - Culpeper is one of Virginia's hottest dining destinations. Whether you're in the mood for smoked barbecue or the freshest hand-cut sushi, there are a myriad of eateries from which to choose. But it goes much deeper than what's on the menu. The farm-to-table movement is alive and well here, borrowed from a centuries old agricultural heritage, and our chefs prepare what is fresh, right from the farm.Enjoy our complimentary hot breakfast before partaking in a hiking trip to Shenandoah National Park trails, 35 minutes away.
Pros: We have stayed at this location several times. The consistency of high standards and friendliness of staff, as well as the thorough cleanliness is what impresses us most.
Cons: Of course I would like to see fresher breakfast. I'm not a fan of pre made eggs and bagged gravy, etc.
Pros: The staff was very welcoming and pleasant.
Cons: The sheets did not feel clean, the mattress was hard as a rock, and the water did not get warm enough in the shower.
Pros: Everyone was very courteous and helpful, and my stay was very comfortable. The bedding was excellent....firm mattress and yet soft-soft pillows.. It was very easy to relax and sleep well.
Cons: The rugs were just a bit stained in the room. That cannot be helped at times I know, but the stains were noticeable. I'll bet it must be close to spring cleaning time. The rugs in the lobby and the hallways were immaculate. The only thing that occurred that I would have liked NOT to have happened was that my key-cards would not work properly on the side entrance door near the elevators. I tried the card in all directions....both cards....and slowly, quickly, etc., etc. The result was that only one time (the arrival evening) after numerous tries, ONE of the cards actually granted me entrance. After that, the next day which was check-out, I was locked out. A good Samaritan let me in, but 4 of the staff passed me by without an inquiry. I had to make sure that I carried all my luggage out in just two trips, because that door was obviously not going to let me inside again. The key cards did work as they should for entry to my room however, so I thought the side-door problem had corrected itself.
Pros: Staff was extremely courteous and professional. Room was clean and spacious.
Pros: Big rooms and hot breakfast.
Cons: Cleanliness of the bed. Got bite marks on my arms the last day of the stay. They appear to be bed bug bites.
Pros: Loved the lobby cofee and cookies. Friendliness of staff and the indoor pool.
Pros: Hotel was clean and modern. Staff was extremely professional and accommodating. Plan to stay at the Holiday Inn when visiting again in the future.
Pros: Simple but very kept very clean
Pros: The night staff was awesome. They let me park my motorcycle in the front where there is camera and in view of the front desk. Very friendly hospitable front desk.
Pros: The rooms were very clean.
Cons: the bathroom need some work.
Pros: Location pretty good.
Cons: Checked in and then check out. Definitely not a 3-star hotel. Disappointing for a BW.
Pros: Everything was exceptional

Pros: Easy check in, no keys (coded doors)
Pros: The friendly greeting and efficient orienation to the room, amenities, tourist tips, parking. Location was excellent. Within walking easy (as in same street) distance of very attractive shops and good restaurants. Also located within 20 minutes of the location are some very interesting Civil War sites, well managed by the Civil War Trust. People very friendly. Housekeeping staff was outstanding. The housekeeping supervisor introduced herself to us and was very gracious in making our stay as pleasant as possible. Street and shops tastfully decorated for the Holidays. The bakery accross the street is awesome. Amtrack access is across the street.
Cons: Bed in room had a definite uncomfortable "sag". I'm sure they were unaware, otherwise would have been corrected
Pros: Privacy, quaint room
Cons: THe music that penetrated through the wall until 2am
Pros: Great location, very convenient to wander around downtown. Certainly felt like a boutique hotel vice the normal experience in a cheaper chain hotel.
Pros: Steam shower was amazing, luscious bedding, towels and robes were provided. Nice view...fireplace was icing on the cake!
Cons: Stairs were steep and long, but manageable.
Pros: The rooms are spacious, very nicely decorated, wonderful bathroom, comfortable bed, lovely fireplace.
Cons: There is no way to change it, but the stairs to the upper rooms are VERY steep and numerous. Most definitely wouldn't work out for many people, especially carrying luggage.
Pros: Spacious room. Bathroom spacious and beautifully done. Convenient to downtown, restaurants and shopping.
Pros: The hotel was fabilous, loved everything about it
Pros: Such a great location. I could poke around in called pepper's wonderful shops and my husband could miss that
Cons: No offstreet parking
Pros: Beautiful. Clean. Nice linens. Fireplace
Cons: Wish it had a small microwave. We are tea drinkers, not coffee drinkers so something more tea friendly. And because I also tend to bring breakfast food such as scones and such do to my restricted diet for Lyme disease so microwaves help. It would be nice if fireplace created more fire and a table to play a game or something. Thank you. Will be back in July for a balciny suite:-)!!

Pros: I like the design of the room, good use of space.
Cons: Too many mirrors.
Pros: The breakfast was ok. Food could have been hotter.
Cons: All was good. The mattress was a little hard.
Pros: The beds were comfortable, staff were welcoming, sheets and towels were very clean, and the breakfast was good.
Cons: There was an awful smell coming from the aircon, so much so that the we had to turn it off. This made for a very hot, uncomfortable night's sleep. The hotel is too far out if town to easily walk to the main street. There are restaurants around but they're all big, bland chain restaurants. For the quality of accommodation, we felt the price was too high.
Pros: The location was excellent. It was close to the old downtown area, and my friends live just south of Culpeper so it was convenient in a few ways. The breakfast was superb. The eggs were tasty and the bacon crisp (not greasy). The other items were all good and the serving area was extremely clean and well-attended by the serving staff. The room was very clean, and well-stocked with towels.
Cons: Not much to complain about here, although I prefer a very firm mattress which I seem to find nowhere in any hotels. I would like to suggest that there should be a closing lid on the toilet for sanitary reasons.
Pros: Staff friendly and facility was clean
Cons: Rooms were very small- only two people can fit in the queen rooms
Pros: Bed was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Super clean room.
Pros: Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Wonderful room.
Cons: Bathroom could have had more counter space.
Pros: Breakfast looked good but we didn't eat any. Had a lot of coffee. Everything was great and the staff was very helpful
Cons: Shower was kind of tall. I'm 68 and 5'6 and I had some trouble getting in and out. No big deal.
Pros: Nice variety. Even had fresh strawberries and grapes. Loved the mini waffles. Every morning they have a different menu so if you stay multiple nights, you can expect a variety every morning. The room is very comfortable. It is a well maintained hotel. AC works great. Very clean.
Cons: Only 3 pillows. If there are 2 of us sharing the bed, it's nice to have 2 pillows each. But not a deal breaker. Ice maker is only on first floor. But again, not a deal breaker. Good thing is there is purified water right by the ice maker.
Pros: It was clean and very well maintained. Peaceful area of Culpeper.
Cons: There was only one book for area information (restaurants, churches, attractions and such) It was at the front desk. I think each room should have a copy.
Pros: From the time I checked in to checking out every one of the employees were very nice and so pleasant to speak with.
Pros: Staff was very friendly
Cons: Breakfast was not as selective as expected

Pros: They offer a very nice breakfast, the room was very comfortable. We will definitely stay again.
Pros: Bed was comfy
Cons: Older motel. They first rented us a room that was already occupied and I walked in the room with beds unmade and tv on and trashed. Was horrified and had to go back to front desk to get a different room which they only did after checking to see if I was telling the truth. But it all worked out in the end.
Pros: Breakfast & the pool!
Cons: The part of the durtain that gives you privacy was very worn out & you could see through it! I had to pin up a sheet I had in mu car so we would have privacy. Other than tgat it was nice!
Pros: William was OUTSTANDING!!! Had a slight problem w/my room & despite having a bus load and being the only staff member handling check-in on a busy Friday, he handled it promptly without missing a beat. His courteous and professional manner were exemplary and a credit to this Hotel. I will stay here again because of his phenomenal Customer Service!!!
Pros: It has a restaurant beside the reception.
Cons: It's literally a motel. Not a 3-star hotel. The reception and the rooms are in separate buildings. No gates for the rooms. Kinda nervous when sleeping.
Pros: The room was clean and nice, free breakfast
Cons: The service was horrible especially in the restaurant. That was our first time staying at Best Western. The staff was extremely rude. They were busy and maybe they were just overwhelmed with the amount of customers, but we wont be staying at another B
Pros: Great pool and fabulous staff
Pros: Beautiful Pool Great Breakfast front desk was so helpful
Pros: This Best Western was fantastic. Probably one of the best we have stayed at. Very large outdoor swimming pool. The buffet breakfast was perfect.
Pros: Pet friendly restaurant food was great beautiful swimming pool will be sure to come back again very quiet
Pros: Nice pool

Cons: Pillows they should be bigger

Pros: The room was clean, bright and cozy. I didn't stay for breakfast. Check-in and check-out were friendly and easy experiences. Staff members were interested in what brought our group there this weekend.
Cons: Having a second luggage stand in the room would have been helpful since there were two of us with suitcases.
Pros: The staff was very kind to provide us with some of their own water supply. Very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The bathroom had no ventilation, steamed up like crazy. Unfortunately all the vending machines were out of water.
Cons: Having your staff open my hotel room after getting out of the shower. That should’ve never happened.
Pros: Place smelled musty. First room had black mold. My last night people above me where really loud until nearly 11pm. I tried calling front desk and no one answered. As I checked out the gentleman did not even ask about my stay. I would not recommend. Most of the staff where very nice and I did appreciate them finding me a new room so quickly.
Cons: We were told that there was only 1 room available and the parking lot was only 1/4 filled. Also all through the night and early morning there was no sound from the rooms. When we were at breakfast only 2 couples showed up. I mention these matters because once again we were told there was only 1 room left in the motel.
Pros: New mattresses. Breakfast was quite good.
Cons: Shower curtain was too short and allowed lots water to escape. Toilet seat was not attached - a really funny surprise in the middle of the night!

We enjoyed the pool for one day of our stay. Will be visiting in a couple months. I will definitely be back. The breakfast was great.
Cons: It was a non smoking room but you could smell cigarette smoke.
Pros: Comfy bed. Good for price

Pros: It was a nice quiet place to say the pool was great the staff was nice the beds were comfortable this is my second time saying I will say again once in that area
Cons: The breakfast was okay wasn't that great but we didn't get there when it started so that may have played a factor
Pros: Just bac
Cons: Food is not good and not hot
Pros: We were very comfortable here and the staff was helpful and friendly
Cons: No complaints
Cons: Room smelled of smoke carpet all torn up and tack strip sticking you in foot door sticking and not opening faucets dripping and when we left never compensated us for our problems we even had to change rooms
Pros: Honestly everything besides the quality of breakfast
Cons: Only disappointment was the poor quality of hot breakfast food; it wasn’t prepared well ex: scrambled eggs dried and hard, sausage gravy very “pasty” etc.
Pros: Easy check in easy check out. Just need more soap and shampoo.
Cons: People playing music really loud. And room smelled a little funny to us. Sorry
Pros: Extra counter space in the sink area. Wonderful tub/shower. Comfortable bed.
Cons: cleaning lady woke us up by trying to come into our room. She did apologize though when she realized we were in there.
Pros: This hotel was a decent place to crash after a late night concert.
Cons: A/C was loud.
Pros: Room was okay
Cons: Room wasn't all the way clean
Pros: Close to town, room was clean, breakfast looked good but didn’t have time, and pool looked clean but I didn’t use it (a number of people were in it) If you want real good BBQ go to Shawn’s Smokehouse (to the right of Faang Thai Restaurant, 251 Lee Hwy) NOT Red Hot and Blue.
Cons: Housekeeping came in unannounced after I checked in so use the dead bolt. I was trying to save water so had my towels on the rack but housekeeping took all the used towels. Housekeeping again tried to come in before I checked out. Don’t they get a list or a radio call when a room can get cleaned and was only cleaned one of the three I was there. Therefore, I left no tip. Also, they need a shelf or something in the shower to hold soap and shampoo.
Pros: Great person at the reception desk. extremely nice and useful. Nice complete breakfast. Washroom clean and renovated.
Cons: Carpet in the room finished. Entrance door very old. Noisy with thin walls.

Pros: The price and that it had eight fridge raider and microwave and a small couch we loved was like at home
Pros: Great customer service better than Red Roof Inn. Clean rooms and they offer breakfast!
Pros: Placed was bad. A bad smell. Old holes in the walls and doors
Cons: A new hotel
Cons: There was a distracting party of guest , partying out side on the balcony's of our rooms- disrespectful to the other guest. This should have been addressed.
Pros: Not happy with continental breakfast. Coffee ok but only pastry in plastic wrapper for food. No fluffy eggs or fruit or anything else!
Cons: Room smelled a little musty and no Kleenex or clock in room. Breakast not much, rather
Pros: Clean room.
Cons: No breakfast of any kind. Only coffee. No place to hang a towel near the shower. No facial tissues.
Pros: It was nice and peaceful
Cons: They separate the smoking rooms and put you on the back side of the motel

Pros: Stayed here only because I could bring my dog and it is close to several restaurants. There’s only one other hotel in town where you can bring your pet, but the location is inconvenient. So, my positive comment is about the location. Also, the bed and pillows were comfortable. There was a fridge and microwave in the room, if I had needed it.
Cons: The property in general is completely...ran down. There are so many needs from cosmetic to safety that need attention. There were people lurking at the entrance, (which offers no security, meaning the door doesn’t lock and I’m not sure it shut all the way) smoking right in front of the door. Awkward. So I prayed for safety each time I passed. I was afraid to let my 17 yr old daughter walk down the hallway by herself to get something from the car. The lock on our door had a little glitch so you had to pull it forward so that you could get in. There was hair in the bathroom floor, next to the tub...like the floor got a quick pass by a mop that pushed it all to the side. No attention to detail by the cleaning crew. I never touched any of the floors with my bare feet. It was only two nights and not much of a choice because I had my tiny dog with me. Breakfast. Um. Given the condition of the rest of the facility, I was not surprised at the breakfast that was free. Cereal and some bread and muffins. I honestly wondered how long it had been since the coffee pot had been cleaned. It was 100 years old. So, I went to McDonald’s. Bottom line. This hotel is on the struggle bus and in serious need of financial support and perhaps new management and renovation and staff training.
Pros: The bed was comfortable.
Cons: Not pet friendly. No area to walk them. Rooms in a separate building, lots of heavy doors to go through with luggage and pets. No trolley to haul luggage. Parking was very limited, not good lighting outside.
Pros: The bed was comfortable. Firm.
Cons: Coffee and a danish is not a breakfast, The desk chair in the room was broken. It was replaced with another broken chair. Something spilled on the floor and not cleaned up properly. No evening staff to deal with problems. Pool was open but needed a lot of work. Filter not running and water was cloudy. Tiles in the pool were falling off. Probably would not stay there again.
Pros: the staff was friendly and polite very helpful with my father 86 years old
Cons: the pool was closed due to weather
Pros: Bed was very comfortable. Evening Lady desk clerk was super friendly! The ice machine worked.
Cons: I've never complained about a hotel, but this place was a true hole in the wall. Renovations have the place really dirty. Parking is very limited. The swimming pool was closed due to broken pumps. Breakfast was all carb products.
Pros: The extra blanket t%nothing
Pros: Nothing at all....
Cons: It was not clean and at all. The room was not guest ready. Even the room they moved us to was not guest friendly. I will not be returning here again.
Pros: Only the location was convenient.
Cons: Horrible experience
Pros: Location was great, Breakfast was good. Staff was Friendly, Bed was comfortable.
Cons: Some of the guests were noisy until midnight.
Pros: Location was near many amenities. Room was comfortable.
Cons: Old building that needs some interior repairs. Pool was not clean, but they were trying to resolve the issue.
Cons: Under construction. Not clean. Limited parking.
Pros: Renovation nice. Pool not in use for repairs or would have stayed longer. While I was trying to book additional time I was told they weren't sure if or when the pool would open as they were waiting for an inspector. I was upset that when I came out to extend my stay I was told I could not get the same rate AND I would have to go on line again.
Cons: Lady at desk when I checked in extremely nice. I'd give her a 10. Man at time of leaving presented totally different story and breakfast left overs were still not put away. I'd rate him a 5. It looked like the owner was having a business meeting in the breakfast area. Unprofessional in my opinion. I used the back entrance near my room and was totally disgusted with the appearance of the area. Please CLEAN it up.

Pros: Staff was great. Room was ok, but it was inexpensive.
Cons: We had to listen to a woman talking loudly on her cell phone as she referenced her STDs as her child "riverdanced" on our heads from about midnight to 2:30.
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: Ice machine right outside my room door, very noisy when people got ice
Cons: It had roaches in the room
Cons: Everything! Bathroom wasn't clean. Electric sockets doesn't work. Cigarette burns on sheets. Exhaust fan in bathroom doesn't work. Need people to clean the rooms. Never no clean towels without taking dirty ones to front desk. Unfriendly staff except two people. Michelle lied to make me pay more money. Dirty lil rip off hotel.
Pros: I stay at this property a lot and every time I've stayed it has been a wonderful experience ! You are always welcomed with a smile from whoever may be working the front desk ! All of the staff here including house keeping go out of the way to make sure your stay is the best !
Cons: Dirty filthy and the staff isn't professional. The manager doesn't know anything. No communication with other to know who's in what room. Poor conditions. Burnt mattresses and sheets. Holes in sheets and fans in bathroom doesn't work. Tubs are stained.
Cons: Hearing people on third floor walk around all night long. People hanging out by enterance door. People talking all night long.
Cons: The smell and roaches
Cons: It had roaches in bathroom and 1 ran across me while in bed
Pros: The lady that works the front desk in the afternoon was great to work with. Very helpful and great to deal with.
Pros: Everyone was great ! The staff made you feel welcomed . Had a very nice stay !
Pros: Front desk staff was very helpful but poorly dressed.
Cons: The room was poorly kept and there was items left in room from last customer. The cleaning staff did a poor job of cleaning. The shower curtains had lots of mold on the bottom. The people above ran and stumped most of the night and again at 3am. It sound like the room was being remodeled.
