10.0 Excellent
Pros: Valerie and Bruno are the most excellent hosts. They make you feel welcome and are so lovely to be around. The breakfasts everyday were first class. Almost everything is organic and locally sourced and they are very eco conscious. Homemade yoghurts and jams in the morning. We would highly recommend the dinner at their house if it is available during your stay. One of us is vegetarian and they catered for it with no problem. We rented their bikes for the day - electronic! Everywhere we went Bruno is so full of knowledge, Let him know where you are going for the day it is really great to have the little tips he can give you. Even for our return to the ferry port in Le Havre! The town it’s self is quaint and there are many gorgeous places nearby to visit. Very quiet home so no need to worry about noise at nighttime. Bed is divine you won’t want to get up! Full kitchen facilities available. We loved every minute of our stay!
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: Loved our stay here! Very friendly owners who gave really good tips. Loved the breakfast and the rooms were amazing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Adolf and Linda greeted us so warmly as we arrived after a tiring day. We felt at home immediately. Their manor house is impressive with high ceilings and beautiful furnishings. Linda is a marvelous cook and her large kitchen is a dream. We slept soundly. It was very quiet and calm. The view from their home across the Loire is a picture postcard to be sure. Linda helped us find a restaurant on a Sunday event when few were open nearby. She made the reservation and even recommended some dishes. At breakfast we not only could choose from her homemade jams but also were treated to fresh cooked eggs( by Adolf) from their own chickens. There were croissants, many varied cheeses and breads, fruit from their garden and delicious coffee and juice. Our conversation at breakfast with Linda and Adolf was truly delightful!!
Cons: We had a little trouble with our GPS finding la Manoir since it is in such a rural area but it is actually just up the hill from the Loire near Langeais.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting Great pool Super breakfast Charming hosts Easy location Fresh linen, high quality bedding Beautiful decor
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house with a very nice garden, views and surroundings. Nice big family room for 4. Excellent hosts! They made us feel at home and feel so comfortable. We didn't want to leave!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Basically, it was the best place we stayed in France. The owners are very helpful and friendly. The location is off the beaten road but in the proximity of major Loire Valley castles (we think is mandatory to have a car). Nice yard with a (far) view of the river. Lots of green and quiet surroundings. Over the 4 days we stayed there, we received some "visits" from the deer in the forest nearby. The breakfast was excellent - great diversity of products, including fresh vegetables and fruits, different types of cheese and meat, very good omelettes (with eggs from "happy" chickens), home made jams, juice, coffee, milk, croissants, chocolate bread, etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: C'est Magnifique' !!! Traditional french style home, each room tells a story and is full of character and charm and has an amazing view of the Loire Valley from the front garden. Has a fantastic outdoor pool with seating area, hospitality is absolutely perfect!! A great location for total relaxation. Has enough parking for about 5/6 cars. The bathrooms are all modern and clean. Linda and Adolf will go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. They planned a wonderful dinner in the evening with bubbly and wine for my partners birthday. It was like going from home to home. I couldn't thank them enough, one of the nicest people we've ever met. Highly recommend a visit!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a nice view! What a nice house! Delicious breakfast with local products and interesting conversation with the owners. Highly recommend!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a wonderful place to stay! Our lovely hosts, Linda and Adolf, were so welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Our room was big, beautiful, furnished with antiques, with a spotless modern bathroom, a very comfortable bed, and a fabulous view across the Loire. The whole house is just beautiful - elegantly and tastefully furnished with antiques. It's situated off the beaten track, up above the river, yet only a ten minute drive away from the historic town of Langeais with some good bars and restaurants for all pockets. An excellent central point for many of the great chateaux, gardens and museums. We breakfasted on home made jams, wonderful artisan breads, meats and cheeses from the local market, around a big kitchen table with Linda and Adolf's lovely family and friends, and after just three days we felt part of the family. Adolf even gave my 'other half' a parting gift of a bottle of cider, as he had been teasing him about the weak lager he had been drinking! We were very sorry to leave, and will definitely return.
Cons: Nothing about the house, everything was perfect.

Pros: The hotel was like a beautiful artwork, full of exceptional furniture, glassware, statues, plants/flowers - all arranged perfectly by Sebastian the owner. An absolute delight to visit. Each morning we had fresh croissants, an excellent assortment of bread, home made jams, from the owners garden. The real treat was having a different and exquisite set of china each morning to eat the very French breakfast on. It’s the most interesting hotel I’ve ever stayed at - a truly visual treat.
Cons: I wish the local restaurant next to the hotel, overlooking the Loire hadn’t been fully booked, it was recommended.... next time maybe.

Pros: Unusual accommodation in the top of the building, very charming, and wonderfully decorated. Location is next to a river with great walking along bank.

The whole accommodation was wonderfully decorated with many interesting objets d'art and beautiful little courtyard gardens. It was spotlessly clean. The host was extremly helpful. Short journeys by bike or car to Montsoreau, Chiron, Samur or Azay etc. Lots of space for the car and bikes. The interior is eclectic and immaculate. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless. We had the opportunity to have an evening meal with the owner which was an absolute joy. Sebastien has such an attention to detail in everything he does. We hope to return next year!

Cons: Leaving!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, friendly host, use of kitchen,
Cons: Gravel driveway was difficult with motorbikes
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived it was clear this was a good one. The owner Bene welcomed us, gave us maps, showed us restaurants and making te booking for us. The room was huge, upstairs in a converted barn. Comfortable bed and plenty of room to sit. Excellent bathroom too. Outside you can sit in the sun surrounded by vines as far as the eye can see, with the church steeple of St Nicholas de Bourgueil on the horizon. The breakfast is exceptional. The first morning Bene made us pain perdu - a bit like French toast with brioche - and the second day there was a homemade hazelnut cake. Add to that quality bread and homemade jams, fruit including delicious grapes and strawberries from the garden, fab. Breakfast is at a large table, on our own the first day and then with a group of four Americans on a cycling holiday. Unusually for a chamber d’hote there is a kitchen which can be used bulky guests - we didn’t, but for those staying longer or on a tight budget it’s a great facility. Highly recommended
Cons: Nothing, but a couple of things to note. A car is essential as it’s in the countryside. Also, the steps up to the room are quite steep, so I’d recommend that anyone with mobility problems requests a ground floor room.

Pros: This accomodation was very nice. We wanted something isolated and quite, which is what we got. The owner is a lovely lady, that was very helpfull once we got there. Breakfast was beautiful, with homemade jams and granola, fresh pastries, yogurt and juice. We really enjoyed the whole stay, eventhough there were real struggles with talking, since the owner speaks very little english and we know cca 5 words in french.
Cons: There is no kettle in the bedroom and the owner won’t allow you to use hers or even boil the water for you.

Pros: The greeting was very nice and very helpful at the reception. Location
Cons: We were put in the annexed building next to the main chateau, the room had an old carpet and old fashioned bathroom for the price we paid. The breakfast was £20 and I asked if I could have an omelette the waitress said is not possible. The breakfast display was nice but not a top quality specially you expect you’re in the Loire Valley. I have raised it at the check out with the manager but she was not bothered and she said this is our way and we choose the best quality but the waiter should have offered you omelette.

Pros: We were two cyclists who had cycled a long way by bike and arrived later than planned, after dark. There was a good secure garage in which we could lock our bikes overnight. The proprietor was very friendly and cooked us a delicious evening meal at short notice. The hotel was clean and comfortable and breakfast was adequate (croissants, bread, butter, jam and coffee). There was a supermarket over the road that was quite conveniently situated.
Cons: The hotel was easy to find in the dark but situated on a main road. So there was some early morning traffic passing outside of our bedroom window, but didn't cause too much noise (the external window roller-shutters were quite effective).
7.9 Good
Pros: Quiet, quaint, off the beaten path in a beautiful valley filled with palaces and troglodytes.
Cons: July 13-14: celebrating French long into the night.
