Very clean and rather spacious room. Nice restaurant on ground floor with very good food in reasonable prices. The hotel has a pleasant garden and it seems that during summertime one can also eat/drink there. The village where the hotel is situated is actually very nice, with many traditionally built houses and an old mansion at the main square. Do not skip a quick walk round the village!
The atmosphere in the hotel was relaxed with basic comfort and very quiet. Perfect destination by train with ICE and Regionalzug to the station of Unkel, then walk your way to simply this outside village near the river Rhein. Beautiful surroundings to explore, especially if you like walking! Just a little comment on the entrance to the breakfastroom /restaurant: it felt a little awkward to pass the small corridor near the bar. Also I would recommand to be kind to environmental cleaning: don't change towels every day, give guest a choice to re-use towels if they want to.
The calm and tranquility of the zone. Near Bonn and the Rhein. Nice garden and good restaurant as well. Staff very kind. No dark courtains in the windows to protect from morning light.
quiet and calming atmosphere. No children running round made it even better. We would have liked some English speaking television.programs.
Clean, great staff, great food and service. Fantastic view Crazy road to hotel
Quality of the food and helpful staff cleanliness of the toilet was below standard
The service, excellent views, great food, relaxing atmosphere, really enjoyed the swimming pool, excellent all round!!
Fantastic historic location, on top of a hill in a beautiful park away from the crowd, and still within 20 minutes drive from the main business and attraction area's near Bonn. Ideal for travellers by car. Good facilities, very spacious standard rooms, nice SPA area. Great breakfast. A little disappointed about the small old TV set in the room. Would expect a larger flat screen TV in such a 5 star hotel facility.
Beautiful view and a lot of history.
This hotel is still used for international conferences and has facilities accordingly. It is situated on a hill overlooking the Rhine and the rooms are large and high. Excellent place! I don't know why up-market hotels have to charge a fortune for Wi-Fi, when others with fewer stars supply it for free. They wanted 22EUR per day, we declined.
Everything was perfect, really nice staff, it worths the price. I strongle recommend it.
Wow this is a beautiful hotel! Fantastic room, amazing outlook, excellent restaurant and breakfast, friendly heplful staff. We loved our stay here only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the fantastic facitities more. There's also a lot to see and do in and around the pretty town of Konigswinter.
The Petersberg Gasthof is an historical Castle. It hosted the Allied Government at the end of the World War. Then the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn arranged international events and dinner there. Foreign Ministers used to be guests at the Grand Hotel. Unfortunately, after the capital moved to Berlin, the Castle lost such grand allure but it is still luxurious. It has nice suites filled with antiques. One can enjoy an astonishig view of the Rhine Valley while drinking a Riesling on the terrace or having dinner at the restaurant.
friendliness of staff and their sense of initiative. Great location! There is only one entry /exit for hotel guests and parties . When party busses line up one cannot get into the hotel and this creates problems
The view from their Rhein terasse was super. The surroundings are beautiful and the town of Konigswinter is near. I had first booked a single room. That was depressingly small and grey. I changed to a double which was only 20 euro's more and it was huge and spacious.
Friendleness and service of staff
No obvious faults.
Large room with river view, separate living area as well as bedroom & bathroom. Car park secure and large. Staff helpful, swimming pool and fitness complex very clean and great to use. Good location for the town. Our room either wasn't cleaned on our second day or wasn't cleaned well - towels were replaced but that was it. This we reported to staff as we came to leave. One of the bars was closed throughout our stay.
Had a lovely adn calm stay with dinner on their balcony facing the river - delicious food and attentive staff - room was very comfortable and well equipped.
Nice hotel in quiet Konigswinter, in lovely riverbank setting. Good access to Bonn.
The staff were particularly helpful.
Nothing really You have to pay for everything...wireless, parking. hall ceilings are only 7 ft. high...Lobby was crowded with chairs. price was high without even breakfast.
The hotel had a very pleasant atmosphere, the staff was extremely courteous and quick to serve The only thing that was pleasing to me were the pillows weren't plush enough; everyday I had a cramp in my neck from the night's sleep; even if I doubled the pillows
The room and bathroom were very nice No.
Location, view, breakfast. We also had a very good evening meal in the hotel restaurant.
Nice hotel in pretty German town. Beautiful terrace overlooking the Rhine. Comfortable rooms. There was a wedding, which occupied almost the entire hotel. We could not use the terrace. It was not possible to have dinner in the hotel, which had not been told at check-in. The next morning, we were not allowed to have breakfast in the nice restaurant. Instead, we had to move to a cramped room together with the wedding-guests.
It is a lovely situation and the village is really great. Nice for walks along the Rhine. There is a really awesome, family run restaurant n th village where they serve their local wines and cheese and sausage platters. We ate there both nights we were in Unkel. When we checked in the receptionist was not very friendly. Also, when you book, you have to pay in advance and it is not refundable should you have to cancel for any reason.
Good breakfast Problem getting to the hotel by car through Unkel
Very friendly and helpful staff, comfort and quietness of room, location in old centre of Unkel overlooking the Rhine
This is a super hotel in very charming village and beautiful part of Germany. We were very impressed by the decor, all extremely well designed, the colours perfectly matching and the finish was increadible. We travelled around the world for many years but have never before seen a hotel where everything was so perfect and yet so pleasing and homely at the same time. Very impressive indeed and much recommended.
I visited on a Sunday night in January and there must have been only another three or four guests. In the summer this would be a lovely location for a family trip or for a mature couple. Everything was very efficient although most of the staff seeme dto have a cold!
The nature outside There was no bath. I asked for one king size bed. It was not available
The view and breakfast
Location, quiet place with easy reach to major cities (Bonn, Koeln) Rooms facing the river... Too noisy in the morning due to street noise (U-Bahn)
Friendly staff, nice restaurant Wireless Internet did not reach the desk in my room.
Very welcoming host, clean rooms, good breakfast, easy wireless internet, in exactly the right place for my needs.
Scenary from hotel window and breakfast place looking rheine river there were many tv channels but no channel in Turkish.
Pleasant hotel with rooms overlooking the Rhine;simply furnished, but reasonably sized rooms and in the centre of Konigswinter. Easy access by tram to Bonn. Very difficult to find since it is at the side of a large block of apartments.Limited parking facilities. Perhaps a little expensive.
Breakfast on the Rhine River. View of the Rhine River from my room. Close to the Rhine River near a awesome walk way with outdoor resteaurants.
Location next to river. Ease of access into Bonn No Bar
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was delicious. We thought the views from our window were superb. The location of the hotel was excellent - we were able to walk from the train station and to the places where we could take a boat trip and to where we could take a trip up the Drachenfels. The Sea Life centre was right next door to the hotel and we and our children thoroughly enjoyed a visit there.
good location lovely views from bedrooms dining room and lounge comfortable lounge friendly helpful staff
The hotel was clean and in good order, with a wonderful position overlooking the Rhine. The staff were polite and helpful. The room was rather clinical and had the impression of one in a clinic or hospital. There was no meal available on Sunday.
Location, evening meal
the view on the Rhine river atmosphere
The food was very good and the room was comfortable. It was a bit stark - especially the handicap facility in the bathroom. That made it seem weird instead of cozy.
The location of hotel no
Spectacular Views, Firm TempurPedic? Mattresses, Large Bathroom walk in shower, Clean modern facility, Full Breakfast Buffet with personal attendance by staff. Staff very helpful with needs during 10 day stay. No In-Room Coffee Maker for Standard Single room. I drink a lot of coffee.
Excellent facilities: swimming pool, sauna, parking place. Excellent view on the Rhein, if the room is on the front site of the hotel. Very good German breakfast. The only regret is that Internet is not free.
Spacious, clean, room with terrace and good view over the river; a little anonymous, but perfectly competent modern hotel, in excellent position overlooking a bend in the Rhine, with picturesque village opposite. A little difficult to spot, the access road is tucked around a corner, and the words "Conference Partner Hotel" do not appear on the sign. Up a significantly steep hill - tough on a tired cycle tourist at the end of a long day!
Beautiful setting. Wonderful staff
Good location for discover this area. Excellent breakfast. Easy to get there only with GPS.
A modern hotel bordering the forests. Friendly staff and efficient service. Free wi-fi and in-house video. Breakfast included. Excellent value for the money. Slightly difficult to reach without a private car. Room a little small.
Room too small too expensive
Very good breakfast
Very clean and airy hotel. Calm environment. Very quiet setting with beautiful woodland.
Comfortable bed, goo breakfast, beautiful location, nice staff.
single room with a tiny bed, noisy hotel, could hear people at the "bar" in the night since open space, poor restaurant and breakfast
English speaking staff, room though single (wide single bed) was large and comfortable with simple but well designed bathroom.
Nice view of the rhein and it is nice along the river front Overall disappointed with Konigwinter. The town itself seemed as though it has seen better days!
Near Rhine. Middle of town. Lots of restaurants.Near to the river cruises. Bathroom rather small and dark
Excellent location. Good food 'Room' proved to be an apartment (fit a family of 2+3children) right at the top of the building, Dismal dark decor. Extra charges, not mentioned until paying bill, 10 Euros for bath, 6 Euros for parking. We stayed in five hotels across Germany on this trip - Loreley was the most expensive and quite the least good.
A beautiful period hotel with absolute charm in a beautiful setting, wonderful locality and very friendly. Not short of things to do as long as you like the countryside. On the other hand easy access to some profiled cities, Bonn and Koln. Simple touches would have enhanced. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room, a fridge/drinks and a full length mirror.
Nice location by the Rhein river, good breakfast. Easy transport to Bonn city by tram, just outside the hotel (25 minutes). No internet in room. No ironing table and iron in room. Batteries in TV remote control were out. Not possible to cover the windows so I woke up very early.
very pleasant location with superior view at the Rhine, ambience of dining hall, helpful staff very small bath-room, the room was also little bit small for that price, repair and maintentace can be better done (the door handle out of action, the staircase in decay)
the receptionist at check in Late breakfast
location, View - meals No internet station
Beutiful river front hotel. Newly renovated. Excellent restaurant and staff. Free parking, great breakfast in gorgeous room. Everything close by. Doesn't get much better than this. Highly recommended. Snowman
I liked to locality and would like to return on a leisure trip with my wife, probably in the summer months, as I suspect that is the best time.
access in evening hours
Peacefulness, and friendliness of waitresses.
Lovely location at each of settlement. Convenient for bus into the centre of Konigswinter but remote enough to be quiet and peaceful.
A room for 2 guests should have 2 chairs for more comfort not just 1.
Charming, older style room with modern bathroom.Very helpful staff, very good breakfast, free parking at rear of hotel and free wifi. No air con which could mean the room would be hot in summer.Shower over bath not suited to elderly as it was difficult to get in and out (and we're quite flexible).
The location of the hotel 50 m from the Rhine. Excellent place for walking, running and sailing on the river. The desk in the room is too small, so it is difficult to work on the computer.
The location in the center of the city
Was good overnight stop on route from Rotterdam to Munich.Friendly place.
Nice house, nice staff, friendly
I asked for and got an early breakfast. Very nice No Fridge
clean and nice
Friendly welcoming staff, pleasant room, convenient location for town, riverside strolling, boats and also for motorway access. Good secure onsite parking. Breakfast good.
Very friendly and helpfull personel. Good breakfeast Small room
The rooms were pleasant, clean and well serviced. The staff were cheerful and helpful. The breakfast was good on the whole. Steep stairs; no bar or other rest facilities; no reception during long periods of the day;a gloomy breakfast room;no fresh hot food at breakfast after 7.30 so the boiled eggs were cold; a persistent smell of smoke.
