location extremely small rooms
The hotel staff were very efficient and very friendly. The restaurant (Sunday's) was excellent. No coffee making facilities in the room.
professional staff. nice young people. restaurants prices.it was too expansive related to quality of the food. rooms are getting older....
view on the river with waterfall and lock from the hotel room; excellent breakfast
Great rooms with excellent equipment. Very clean, good breakfast, good location. Very quiet loaction.
Impression at check in. View on river Ems. The minibar was deliberately empty and switched off. Staff refused to fill it or even to switch it on because of "bad experience with some guests abusing it".
Easy parking, very close to city and work, nice river view, quiet and peaceful. might need air conditioning in hot summer
Little touches like a small yellow plastic duck in the shower tray and glow in the dark stars on the ceiling above the bed. Welcoming reception staff with useful guidance. Free WiFi if hotel booked through internet. Beautiful location over looking the Rheine. Nothing
Easy booking nice breakfast Too cold in the room, no english translation about loundry, I didnt have duck under the shower, bed a bit too smal and blanket too short u have to pay for Wi - fi
Nice hotel, friendly staff and really delicious meals in the restaurant.
live and go I did't ask for it but there was no elevator for the 1ste and 2nd floor so for my sister it was a bit a problem but we managed
It is very calm, beautiful view and location. Nice rooms with chocolate on the pillow. Breakfast and lunch was excellent. It was too bad that the sauna just open at 14:30 and close at 19:00. Usually the people would use it at the morning or evening. I missed the small pillow...
opening time reception, bar, restaurant
Very friendly staff and very helpful Wrong room alocated, although not charged the original rates
Very nice hotel run by a family. Helpful and friendly staff. Hotel has several accomodations (swimming pool, solarium etc.) and a very nice restaurant. Though mentioned on the site, payment by credit card or EC-card is not preferred.
Pleasant, quiet location; very friendly and helpful reception staff, clean and comfortable rooms, great views. Ideal overnight stop en route to northern Germany. Service at dinner was rather slow - there seemed to be a training problem or staff shortage.
Very clean. Free parking. Breakfast choices were relatively few, and in particular I did not like that orange juice glasses were super tiny, quite inconvenient.
the breakfasts were delicious beds not comfortable
The location The lack of internet access, they did offer wireless but this was down or I was unable to connect.
I had a wonderfull time in Rheine mainly because of the kindness of the personell from Altstadt and also due to the good services that they provide. Excellent breakfast.
The staff was pleasant, accomodating, and willing to help with concerns.
Easily walk to many restaurants. Good breakfast. I arrived on Sunday late morning to find out that the hotel lobby was closed till 4pm ! Very annoying, after a long flight & drive. 'booking.com' should have asked me when I was checking in and made sure there was a staff at hotel when I arrived. Also, only one staff could speak in english
Had booked a double room with an extra bed but it was not available at check-in. But got a double and a single at the same rate instead which was nice. Very clean and new looking. Walking distance from the Rheine station. Stayed for one night and quite satisfied. Bring your own toiletries. Trouble communicating in english with the staff but they were very accommodating and nice.
nothing The heating was switched of during the night and the room was very cold
size of room should close the main hotel door every time you go out or in
service pleasant and good No
Informal, good quality
Very clean, comfortable & good facilities. Food great & staff very helpful & considerate.
The charming and helpful team in a hotel with very high standards of comfort and cleanliness. The location is good in a small market town with easy access to autobahn system. The restaurant food is of a high standard
Friendliness, quite new and beautiful hotel Noisiness in the corridors! Furthermore some youngsters origanized a house party in a room which took all night. No actions were taken by the staff! Unbelievable and unacceptable for such a nice hotel! I slept 3 hours ...
Clean room, kind receptionist, helpful staff, wifi. Restaurant/bar was not available upon arrival (sunday evening), no minibar. Room was noisy in the morning (traffic, train)
A very nice welcoming hotel with an excellent restaurant Restaurant closed on Sundays
Very helpfull and freindly staff, food in the restaurant was of excellent quality and value for money. Very well decorated for the christmas season. I would recommended this hotel to anyone staying in the area . we are already looking foward to going back next year.
Friendly staff, great value for money
very friendly staff and great food, would most definitely reccomend it
clean, excellent food and owners were helpfull as usual, superb menu.
The very plush surroundings. Extremely good value for money
friendly staff, very cosy
The restaurant is fantastic! Kudos to the chef. Also, the design, utilizing details of a converted train station, is clever and elegant. The hotel was spotless, and the setting (complete with beautiful terrace, overlooking a lovely park AND active -but not noisy, due to excellent construction- train tracks!) was both idyllic and interesting. Staff/owners were delightful, too. Cannot reccomend this place highly enough! Great for train bufs! Also, although we didn't have our bicycles, this hotel is perfect for biking/hiking, too - right on the path, and with trains and a busstop literally at the door. We hope to return! It did not bother us, but due to the old train station architecture, the rooms are a little small. However, the renovation has ben expertly done, so all rooms and spaces are well-designed, using high-quality materials, and kept sparkling clean.
Interestingly designed, the hotel was comfortable and relaxing to stay in. The landlady was keen to ensure our needs were fully met, even down to the personal touch of including a few toys in our room to ensure our little boy's immediate impression of his new "home-from-home" was a good one. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area, although be warned that trains do still pass through the station and some noise, though not intrusive can be heard. A lift would be a welcome addition.
Everything about the hotel is excellent. Style, modern rooms, great location, less than 5 minutes from the motorway, great food and wines, fantastic breakfast, etc. etc. The only slight downside is being right by the trackside of a functioning railway. Trains do rumble by from 04:30, so if you're a light sleeper, this may not be for you (they're only every 45 minutes or so until around 07:00 though). Lovely people, lovely location. Very nice, and would highly recommend
This is a wonderful small family run hotel.Beautifully decorated, very clean and with lots of nice touches and extras-eg-fresh flowers in room and corridors(and even in the menu cabinet outside).Good restaurant and atmosphere, nice breakfast, very helpful staff and excellent value for money. The only drawback-some people might not like the noise of trains passing nearby-but it is after all,a converted railway station.Incidentally, the railway theme has been cleverly incorporated into the design and decor.A great little hotel.
Great location: arrival by car just off the motorway, by train just at the back door, by cycle, I guess even on foot. Beautiful countryside in the area. Great atmosphere: something different a railway-station-turned-hotel with railway station elements in the decor. Friendly staff, relaxed check-in and check-out, nice table-served German breakfast, flexibility regarding dietary requests. Something special and good price-quality. The rooms were compact, but well designed, even though small (we had one of the double rooms). When we visited (July 2010) it was extremely hot, so without airconditioning we kept the windows open for air and then the freight trains at night can wake you up every now and then. However, with the windows closed, we're sure that would not be much of a problem (maybe you would still feel the vibrations, but not hear the sound).
