The hotel was clean and simple. There was a welcoming reception area and the staff were always pleasant and happy to help. Handy secure parking behind the hotel and roadside parking too. It was a short walk to the harbour in Lorient where there were plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.
Very well located. Staff were nice. Room small and toilet extremely small. The toilet was a major reason for not recommending this hotel.
It was clean, nicely decorated and the receptionist was very helpful and spoke English. There was also secure ample parking and it was close to all the amenities within Lorient From the directions given, it was hard to find. The directions were in- adequate and should be more detailed.
Free Wifi! Nice host, good location, free guarded parking.
Good parking, clean and tidy, helpful and polite english speaking staff, quiet guests, easy to find. No
The staff was excellent; we were there during a festival and requested a quiet room, which we were given. The room was clean and very comfortable. The restaurant was excellent and our waiter was very gracious in helping us understand the menu and helping me with my French. We loved the location for the festival!! The only thing we didn't like was that parking was not available in the lot--it was full because of the festival and we had to park on the street.
Excellent service and cleanliness of the room. NO
Nice and symphatic staff. Hotel does not book off your credit card if you do not arrive for some reason and are reactive to the remarks made on booking, even send you email to arrange things before arrival ! Parking is not easy in the streets around the hotel.
charming staff, clealiness of the room, the free internet access
Staffs are always friendly and very helpful(This is my second visit). Good location for my purpose(4-5min on foot from railway station, a few min walk to the city center, the hotel's surrounding is nicely quiet). The room is clearn and have all what I need(desk, free WIFI, bathtub).Very good value for money. I don't find anything to complain here. However If I try to find one, it would be the fact that guests cannot control the temperature of heating system. The room wasn't warm enough for me while I am working at the desk after midnight, but I guess it was good temperature for sleeping. I didn't have breakfast so I can't talk about it.
Friendly kind.. clean facility... everything is great
nice place good location will be coming back
Very good location, calm, parking in surrounding streets. Nothing special but a reasonable comfort.
Assistance from staff Yes - the fact that there was no mention on the website that parking was free on the streets if you could find it but cost 5 euros for the garage.
Good attitudes in reception, good location Poor breakfast
Well located, comfortable. A free of charge parking would be appreciated.
Very nice place. Very comfortable beds. Nice bathroon with excellent shower. Great Breakfast. Wonderful owners. I have zero negative comments to make. Maybe add another hook in the bathroom. That's it!
It was modern, clean and comfortable with a good sized double room and en-suite. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, although a kettle and two cups was provided when we asked with two tea bags. (No milk or coffee)
Well maintenanced, clean and confortable room. The staff was so helpful and kind. The breakfast was reasonable and full of a variety of materials.
THe rooms were clean and tidy hotel well situated no bar. charge of six euro a day parking bit naughty
Loved the bathroom
situated perfect and good food.
We stayed for leisure purposes although I would say this hotel would be more suited for business purposes.
It did what it said on the tin (think travel lodgein the UK) Smoking in the bar/lounge/restaurant area (by staff sitting at the bar whilst guests ate breakfast)- but it is in France!
The staff. Easy to find from the main road. The restaurant. There was very little lighting in the room and nowhere to sit apart from the bed. The hotel was obviously very modern when built but now needs some refurbishment.
The staff were very helpful and friendly(family run hotel)the evening meals were excellent quality and superb value.Rooms are basic but spotless, all in all we enjoyed our stay The only minor niggle was soap and shower gel was not replenished but when requested ample was supplied
The restaurant. There was a musty smell when we entered the room and it was very small for a family room. There was not adequate lighting. One of the cups left with the tea facilities was dirty. Once all the beds were pulled out there was no floor space and the table disappeared as it folded out into a bed so you were left with only one bedside locker to put anything on! Ridiculous set up.
lack of storage space .Position of kettle could be hazardous if young children were to stay in room as was on a shelf above a bunk bed!
Nothing. There was not even a bus service that ran hourly. Had to walk to get to Lorient festival pushing 4 year old in stroller for one and a half hours. Never again. Hotel located facing motorway and factories, car spray paint fumes in mornings. Bus drivers did not know where it was so got off bus 3 miles away at midnight, very scary. Awful location. No taxi's available ever for festival. D'ful. The hotel was so old. We paid for a room for three and the spare bed was a fold down piece of board that had metal sticking up that could injure children. Privacy was good and breakfast was good.
Lovely views of the river and lovely grounds. The staff (one of them anyway, the rest were nice) was very rude on check-in and the first night. It was clear that we were a nuisance rather than valued guests since we had our 3 year old son with us. When we asked about the dinner it my wife was sneered at and given the code for the door so we could come in after 11 at night as a 3 year old obviously could not be in the dining room. While the castle is nice, the rooms are starting to need renovation, e.g. the modern bath is not so modern anymore and quite run down.
Amazing location. Very good but not overbearing service. Good food. Lovely rooms.
Location was very nice, with good views. It was a bit noisy, also bathroom tiles had mouldy grout and towel had someone's hair in it.
the atmosphire, the gardens and the chateau are charming
Tranquility, Escapism, Location, Cuisine (Have already recommended it) Broken/cracked glass shelf in bathroom
Excellent room (junior suite) and most attractive view out over the park and water. Decor in very good condition but some of the curtains/carpets were not complimentary. Food of very high standard as would be expected with a Michelin star and service of a prompt, very willing and personalised nature without being intrusive. Situated in its own 120 hectares of woodland the outside world did not seem to exist. Old wooden floors reverbrated to movements in the room above. Shutters closed every night with echoing sounds - opening in the morning made sure that you were not late for breakfast ! - To be expected in a building of that age. Towels were far too small to dry satisfactorily without the help of a towelling robe. The jaccussi bath not a good idea for elderly joints - some form of hand holds to assist entry/exit would be an advantage. Being of greater age, it would be nice to think that there may be plans to install a passenger lift to encourage a further visit.
Th food was divine It was Autumn so there were not so many facilities for my son, however we loved the estury and the woods.
Superb cuisine, beautiful surroundings, charming staff, and lovely decor! None!
Room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. No wardrobe or drawers in bedroom
It was the only available hotel at the time - the Lorient Interceltic festival was on, so all other hotels fully booked!l The price! 140 Euros for a simple triple room with no breakfast.
The location of the hotel is perfect, just by the sea. Views are stunning and the hotel itself matches the environment. Many rooms come with a bathtub, which is a lovely feature in these rougher climates. The restaurant offers modern and fun cuisine with local produce. Luckily, rooms don't have air condition to disturb you! Discounts during off season. Très sympa :) 1. The lounge/living room area is underdevelopped. If you don't want to be in your room, there is really no cozy place to stay and have a drink or some tea, talk and read. 2. Given the rich culinary tradition of the area breakfast choices are quite poor - plastic wrapped hotel cheese and dry baguette, no ham or regional sausage. You wish you had had a chance to go to the market in Larmor Plage and get yourself some local cheese, sausage and jam! 3. While lighting in the rooms is tasteful, soft and useful, bathroom lights are a naked neon tube, apparently catering to those who need to get a good look at themselves! You are trying to relax in the bathtub in what feels like the glare of industrial light fixtures. Quite awful
Outside terrace beside the beach and sea. Able to have dinner on the terrace. Rooms are a little on the small side - overpriced for size of rooms. No airconditioning.
The general atmosphere of the hotel, ease of car parking/travel around the town and access to the surrounding area
The welcome was friendly, the room comfortable, and the restaurant *excellent*. No
We have been here for the second time - very friendly welcome, comfortable & clean rooms, excellent restaurant, value for money, quiet location. no
Friendly, family style hotel in town centre with all of the facilities nearby.
Beautifull ancient castle in the point of brittany. beautifull castle park surroundings in castle settings with chappel. Good receprtion by very helpful staff. Very unclear pricing ! Pricing at booking.com will be surcharged with castle- fee of more than double the booking.com price, which is a devious pricing practice. Rooms are furnished in the authentique castle style, but rather smaller and stuffed with vases etc... than modern comforts requires.
This hotel has great charm, being a former family home, and has many old mementoes and furniture which give you the feeling you are staying in a private house. It is set in peaceful grounds and the reception staff are friendly. Lots of Michelin recommended restaurants nearby. On our second night we ate in their small restaurant, and the service was very slow. I have a feeling that all was not well in the kitchen and other staff were covering the kitchen jobs, as the young waiters kept disappearing for ages. Others may have a better experience.
The peace and majesty of this historic establishment, its magnificent gardens, noble trees and wildlife are striking. The members of the staff are devoted to the guests, providing delicious meals, comfortable rooms, and excellent facilities. The deer, the sparrow hawk and the owl fascinate. No
Basically cannot fault this hotel at all. Very comfortable and clean and a lovely little place.
management were very helpful and extremely pleasant,
Port Louis is a gorgeous little French town, right on the sea, with a great castle too. The hotel was just right for us; very comfortable, with everything we needed, but neither pretentious nor expensive. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Shets spotless. Great Value for this hotel.
