The hotel staff doesn't speak english, no service mentality, no service on the pool, Spa is ok but ages away from european real spa standarts, Hotel rooms look old or at least the ones we had. Indoor pools during bad weather Improve selection of tv channels. Make available one english-speaking newspaper.
Nice hotel in nice location Was disappointed that the price of the room did not include access to the indoor swimming pool and this was not made clear to me in advance.
Very nice & sufficient breakfast buffet. Very clean and large SPA. Very kind & helpful hotel staff (but, not much English speaker). Very nice restaurant in front of the hotel (Same chain) and also at the Gran Hotel Hesperia.
We like every thing, but the best have to be the relax atmosphere even in height season, the surrounds are breath takenig. The delicious buffet breakfast kept as full until later afternoon. Highly recommended
The excellent Restaurant with first class service and well cooked food. The location on the coast with superb hotel facilities
Most attentive helpful reception staff with added bonus of having some knowledge of English, not common in Galicia. Good lounges and internet access. Pool not open in late June! Government inspectors blamed. No real garden. Room too hot and close: ch set not to go below 19 deg C. Poor bathroom ventilation. Breakfast not four star standard: relatively poor range of hot and cold meat, cheese, etc., only comprehensive in regard to sweet cakes. No English spkg tv channel, despite availability elsewhere of cnn and sometimes Sky News.
Although the hotel had some very beautiful common rooms and the bedrooms were comfortable, it lacked an ambience. Breakfast was nice No restaurant to speak of and we had to travel 10 - 15 kms to find the next village to eat. Difficult to find as the address says Vilagarcia but it is not in Vilagarcia.
nice room and pool, excellent breakfast thin walls
very pleasant stay
We stayed in one of the hotel suites which was perfect in every detail and we really liked the authentic "castle " feel to the place. We were a little surprised at the restaurant service it didnt quite match the level of quality generally at the hotel but it was ok.
Building and gardens were very pleasant. The quality of care from the staff enabled us to have a relaxing vacation. Swimming pool pleasant and not overcrowded. Lounge areas comfortable and attractive. We found some difficulty initally locating the hotel (as we did not have GPS). The address did not generate easy directions from internet map websites.
Great building with a lovely pool Menu was a litle restricted and a very small wine list
Beautiful hotel. Food OK, but not amazing. Very clean. Staff very accommodating. Very much enjoyed staying here and would choose to stay again Disappointed that there was no wi-fi in the room and it didn't work very well in the common areas.
Pool Reception staff not very good
An interesting building with character, and antique furnishings to the communal areas, and the food was excellnt - one of the best steaks I've ever had. There is a decent sized pool with sun beds and grassed areas, but it has restricted opening times - strangely closed between 1400 and 1600, I think due to supervision issues - but a real nuisance when you simply wish to relax in the sun.
Superb family run hotel, quiet and very relaxing. nothing
The hotel is in a quiet location with no noisy neighbours. The staff were very friendly, helpful and spoke good English. The room was very clean, spacious and more like a small suite with the separate lounge area converted to a bedroom for our 12year old who was sharing with us. The dinner menu was interesting, varied and the food excellent except for the unripe nectarines which were served as the "fruit" choice on two nights. Liked the shaded car parking and the outdoor pool.
Very good and pleasant accomodation and very nice welcome.
Beautiful landscape, very well maineted building, rooms and facilities, very nice staff
friendly family atmospere. nothing was too much trouble. food was excellent and there were three communal areas to relax in. we could not find fault in this hotel.
The hotel is very well decorated, confortable and clean. The sorroundings are very peaceful and yet it's close to several nice and interesting places. In the rooms you can find suggestions about what to explore in the area.
The setting was beautiful, the grounds immaculate and the hotel was very clean. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful .The room was very well fitted and comfortable and the breakfasts were plentiful and varied.
Very well presented hotel. Spacious room. Nice public areas Location is bit out of the way. Not recommended for anyone without a car.
Cleanliness Size of rooms friendliness of bar/restaurant staff Hotel situated on very busy main road Food boring with limited choice Noise echoed quite badly
We were really disappointed by the fact that the hotel was billed on your website as being"200 yards" from the city centre when in fact it was 2 kilometres from the town centre. It was on the spur of a dual carriageway, in the middle of nowhere, which made it impossible to do anything except drive. For a hotel billed as being 4-star, there wasn't even an information pack inside the room about the services the hotel offered. In order to get to the outside swimming pool it was necessary to walk through the reception and out of the front door. The quality of the bathroom toiletries was poor too.
1. the staff: Ronald, Susanna, Aurea, greeted us kindly and with interest in what we did;they gave personal attention at all times: the room staff kept the hotel meticulously clean: the waitors, Oscar was friendly and attentive but not pushy but the star of the whole show was Noemi who was kindness embodied and very very nice. The garden was pleasant. We wanted an out of town hotel which was quiet and this was. Our room was a suite, comfortable and large with a lovely logia overlooking the garden. It doesn't fit in tomany of your categories. It was lovely. Everything was delightful
Staff was very helpful It did not have the sea view room as the pictures shown
New hotel - large rooms - nice breakfast Close to a noisy road - no beach or sea access - ground not well maintained
The position overlooking the estuary, and the breakfast buffet Not enough variation with the dinner menu.
Spacious, high quality building. Nice carpets. Diffident receptionist.
The staff were most helpful. Very relaxed atmosphere. lovely surroundings. I would have preferred a more varied evening menu on the 'a la carte'
The room and view Need extractor fan in Bathroom as windows cant be open in bad weather
Friendly & attentive staff , excellent location for the town of O Grove & La Toja . Ample breakfast . Very clean & modern . Thoroughly recommended . Would stay again !!
Situation, sightseen, staff, services
Exceptionally friendly & helpful staff. Good breakfast. A short walk to a range of excellent restaraunts.
Good room and location. Staff seemed inexperienced and nervous which made us feel uncomfortable. No evening/lunchtime restaurant.
This is a very nice place to stay; the location is beautiful facing La Toja and at a walking disstance to the nice restaurants. We only stayed one night but we intend to repeat . The staff is very nice and helpful. No
situation was terriific
Very friendly and helpful staff. Food smell on the rooms corridor.
Location and good service.
Wifi. Nice rooms. Well-located.
The buffet breakfast which was included with the room rate. Also, the terrace with water fountain where there was beverage service was most pleasant. The rooms were large. The carpeting in the hallway and stairway needs to be cleaned or replaced.
we really liked the location,so easy to town, restaurants, board walk and bus station.the parador is very nice and warm and not too austere like some we have visited. when i asked one desk employee for a dinner recommendation ,she snipped "the parador" and then when i politely responded that we would like to walk and dine outside the hotel she sort of rattled off a few places but very quickly and with disinterest as if they were all the same and not worth her time.Made the parador seem desperate for business and was a very stuffy attitude to display to a guest.Another younger girl was quite helpful earlier in telling us interesting port towns close by that we could visit. So I would chalk the dinner incident up to the individual and not the general attitude of the other employees.
Beautiful renovated medieval building. Excellent location on the waterfront. Excellent breakfast, especially the fresh fruit. Some minor weak points: irritating generic classical muzak in the restaurant. No coffee/tea making facilities in the room and no room service before 8am.
THe facility needed some updating. It was near the town center - great in the day, but a booming concert at night made the walls shake and sleep difficult.
Attentive staff, large comfortable room, interesting local based menu. An excellent touring area; would definitely return.
nice bright rooms in pleasant and extensive grounds. an easy 10 minute (max) walk into Cambados for bars, restaurants etc. relaxed and friendly
A great traditional family hotel with a very good restaurant Although Cambados is a lovely village the immediate area of the hotel is a little run down, but this does not really detract from the place.
The quality-price ratio is excellent. Excellent environment, rooms and food
Lovely hotel with an excellent covered swimming pool. Rooms were beautiful
The ambiance, peace and treatment of the staff. Everything was great.
It's a confortable and clean hotel, with a familiar style.
Location ambiance No description of facilities or hours of availability in rooms. In fact no information at all provided in rooms.
The hotel is only a short walk to the city center. It has beautiful gardens and ample parking. The staff are helpful. It is a beautiful hotel but the plumbing was very noisy and there was a lot of noise emanating from the corridor. The opening and closing of doors made a lot of noise..
Once again a lovely stay in a great hotel.
Very nice hotel in attractive building and grounds. Out of the centre of town, but can walk in along estuary. Excellent room. Very good value.
We did like the design and the excellent service. The veranda with nice furniture and soft music were we enyoed some fine Albariño wines from Rias Baixas. The restaurant was also very nicely decorated, with excellent food and service. Maybe it is a little to close to the "Aoutviva" with some noice from tje traffic.
Small, modern hotel with all amenities. Free parking, and across the road from the beach. Not much to do in the vicinity, but the 'A Ria' restaurant nearby is very good. No.
The rooms and breakfast very very good. Is a 3 star + hotel and not a 2 star one. Is right by the beach. Everything was ok!
Well presented, beautiful gardens, very quiet - but then there was almost no one else there! There was never anyone on reception and passports and ID cards clearly left lying about. When we tried to check out I hunted around for 20 minutes and could find no staff - nearly missed our deadline to return car in Santiago.
Beautiful gardens and pool area. A liitle remote.
Service, food, facilities
gardens, clean hotel no kettles in room, no english tea, breakfast not included and this was not highlighted.
It's close to the beach. There is a pool for those who can't enter the ocean (which is too cold in August). The place on the map is incorrect. Hotel stands right on the noisy road. The way to the beach is dangerous because of cars.
When I first arrived I didn’t like the look of it because I thought I was in the middle of nowhere. But it is just a short walk from a great beach. And a 10 minute drive away from a massive beach. O’Grove was especially nice and the fish is to die for. The island of Toxa is worth a visit and you can go into the posh old Hotel for a coffee. No
