This 19th-century country house is in Linarejos, in Castilla y León’s Sierra de Culebra Mountains. It has a traditional restaurant and its rustic rooms come with a flat-screen TV and private bathroom. Caseron de Linarejos’ country-style restaurant has a fireplace. It offers a range of traditional Castilian dishes, including roast meat cooked in a wood-fire oven. There is also a cellar with various quality local wines. The hotel is located in a game reserve which is home to Western Europe’s largest wolf population. The beautiful Portuguese city of Bragança is an hour’s drive away, and you can drive to Sanabria Lake in 45 minutes.
Pros: The host is VERY friendly. One of the people who LOVE to do something good to others! He welcomes you, although his English is poor, but his eyes tell you: you are so welcome. He keeps the house tidy and is a good cook. I had a steak and vegetables, all good (and not expensive). The landscape is so surprising! You would never believe that it is high and green with water and hills - in Spain. And not so hot and humid like near the sea. You can make walks and hike in the area - explore the woods around and enjoy a good beer in the evening!
Cons: The road to the village is LONG and not well kept. This is nothing against the host, but you should calculate a bit longer, when you are underway with your navigational aid.
Cons: Noise outside till 12.30 playing football, something we didn’t expect after a long days drive. This is the worst breakfast we have ever had. Two thick slices of toast, two croissants, two small pieces of cake and few sachets of jam and butter. Unbelievable.
Pros: The host is very friendly and helpful and cooked a great dinner for us. The location is very peaceful and would make a great base for walking in the national park.
Cons: It is a little remote and not easy to find but it was worth it using a combination of Google maps on the phone and the satnav.
Pros: Rural setting in quiet hamlet..off the beaten track especially as our sat nav took us 4K on partly unmade road!! Good experience and supper.

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and multilingual staff. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: This was an emergency booking after the original booking got cancelled due to a fire so I wasn't sure what to expect but it proved to be a great little stay. The nature of the trip meant we were stopping in quite a few non-touristy areas and this was no exception. The hotel looked to cater for passing traffic rather than tourists. Clearly they get the occasional Brit as there was a Yorkshire flag above the bar. The hotel bar was a gathering place for the locals which created a great atmosphere. The room was clean and comfy and ideal for an overnight stop. The village was very traditional and didn't really cater for tourists but there was a really nice local bar with a shady garden - very relaxing.
Cons: Not a dislike more words of advice. This is a very traditional Spanish village that won't see a lot of English tourists so if your language skills aren't great and you don't like communicating in the international language of mime you might want to give this one a miss.
