Pros: Stunning scenery and location
Cons: Beautiful location and friendly staff slightly spoiled by excessive pricing of food which compares to New York or london prices without the quality
Pros: Food was excellent
Pros: Nothing not to like here. The hotel is just beautiful from the decor to the food and of course the staff. We had a lovely room with a view over fields. The room was gorgeous, with free tea and coffee and a mini bar for alcoholic purchases. The bathroom had a huge tub, under floor heating, robes - was perfect. We went for dinner which was exquisite. What a talented lady Lisa is. I can honestly say this is the nicest meal I have ever eaten. Service in the bar was great and the knowledge from the Sommelier during our wine flight was a delight to listen to. Breakfast was again perfect - I just can’t fault this place. I loved it. Treat yourselves and have a wonderful time
Pros: Amazing staff, amazing service, amazing food, amazing suite all in all unbelievable Will definitely be returning here.
Pros: The attention to detail within the whole place. Friendly relaxed atmosphere in a luxurious hotel which is just perfect. I have a nut allergy, which makes me always a little anxious as I’ve been given nuts in previous hotels even though stating. From the minute we entered the dinning experience they stated they knew I had a nut allergy, even when serving the bread too. I can not state what a fantastic relief it is as someone with a severe allergy that you can really trust it’s been taken care of. Fantastic food too. Made a perfect stay even more perfect! Can’t wait to come back for another treat.
Cons: Breakfast was delicious, but we had to at least 10 mins to receive our tea and juice we’d ordered from when we sat down. I know it was a relaxed service for breakfast but prompter drinks would be much better so you can sip whilst you wait.
Pros: Lovely Service, friendly Team and excellent cuisine. Spacious room, superb bathroom and a lovely garden
Cons: Outdated and shabby furniture in the Main Bar area
Pros: The room was first class
Cons: The room though beautifully appointed was mostly browns in colour which made the room very dark. A little depressing for us.
Pros: Friendly and attentive staff.
Cons: WiFi not strong enough so didn’t reach our bedroom
Pros: Love the location - my only little issue was the location of my room meant there was quite a lot of traffic noise during the mornings.
Cons: See above

Pros: Great Friendly atmosphere
Cons: Like to shower - just a bath
Pros: Breakfast was good had a full English. Good location.
Cons: No shower or shower head for washing hair. A little modernising and it could be a great B&B as it is a lovely building
Pros: The views and peacefulness of the surroundings were amazing
Pros: It was a convenient location for us to visit relatives and also to be close to the road networks for travelling - but was in the countryside so wonderfully quiet.
Cons: The shower had little pressure but was OK for an overnight stop/
Pros: Great location
Pros: Host Jo was Fabulous... Breakfast was fab House beautiful and lovely relaxing country views
Cons: A shame we had sleep disturbed as drunken women in room next door was heard falling about and vomiting
Pros: Fantastic location , fantastic host.
Pros: Great place.
Pros: Location Friendliness of host
Cons: Shower wasn’t great. Curtains would benefit from lack out linings.
Set in the breathtaking Ribble Valley and in the heart of the village of Mellor. Ideally situated for lovers of the countryside and those needing to be near local business centres. An old coaching Inn sympathetic to its history but meeting modern needs. Cosy and comfortable bedrooms, all with WIFI, luxury toiletries, quality beds, fluffy bathrobes, homemade biscuits and lovely quirky touches.
Pros: This is a very cosy small hotel which has both restraurant and bar services. Our first visit was 38 years ago and we actually stayed on our wedding night before making our way to Scotland. It has changed a little (there is another building with bedrooms) but has basically kept the lovely feel and atmosphere, with lovely staff. We go back from time to completely chill.
Pros: Good food and bear, decor in rooms is very plush and all staff are very friendly
Pros: Everything was lovely. Very nice
Cons: Back in the 1980s when I was at a nearby boarding school, my parents sometimes stayed at the Millstone Inn when visiting me. I have fond memories of those times and finding myself in the area for the first time in many years thought it would be nice to stay there. Sadly though the experience was a disappointment. Not surprisingly the accommodation has been updated (maybe several times) since I was last there and is certainly of a high standard, but my room didn't particularly impress. It was a double room, but only in the sense that it was possible to fit a double bed in there. Fortunately I was by myself otherwise it would have been uncomfortably cramped. The décor wasn't really to my taste either, finding the table lamps styled after headless geese (or maybe ducks) particularly vulgar, although I realise that this is a purely subjective opinion. Someone else might find them delightful. The low-point however was dinner in the restaurant where I had booked a table in advance. Presenting myself at the appointed time the waitress mentioned that the service might be a little slow as they were quite busy, but it seems we were on different wavelengths as to the definition of the word 'slow'. When I eventually found a starter from the menu that was still available I had to wait half an hour for it to be served, and then had to wait another half hour before the main course appeared. All the while none of the staff made any effort to keep me informed about the delay, apologise for it, or even ask me if I wanted another drink (something on the house would have been a nice gesture). Bizarrely though, once the food had arrived (just in the nick of time, as another two minutes and I would have walked out) I had a constant stream of staff stopping to ask me how I liked my meal...
Pros: The staff were warm, friendly and helpful; the accommodation very good and the food excellent.
Pros: Good restaurant with an excellent menu.
Pros: Fabulous room, comfy bed, great pillows and duvet. Great lighting, plenty of plug sockets. Great wifi, and tv. Beautifully decorated room. Mega clean. Fabulous food in the evening, great breakfast. Great serve with the Gin and Tonics. Lovely lovely helpful staff. Great parking.
Cons: The only downer was the shower wasn't too great - room 23! Challenging to say the least.
Pros: Liked the rooms and the bar & restaurant were excellent
Pros: The restaurant and pub area were brilliant. The rooms were cozy and really comfortable. Meal was gorgeous. Great power shower. Lovely little extras such as the water bottle in the room and nice soaps. Clean and well maintained.
Cons: Not the fault of the hotel by any means, but church bells ringing from 6am on a Sunday morning when you are feeling rather delicate was a nightmare! Bathrooms could do with updating.
Pros: The room was nice and dinner and breakfast very good
Cons: Being an old building, every floor freak and toilet flush is heard throughout so if you’re a light sleeper, take ear-plugs. It’s also very near to a church and the bells chime every hour up to mid-night and resume at 6am.
Featuring free WiFi and a restaurant, The Lord Nelson offers pet-friendly accommodation in Langho, 7.2 km from Blackburn. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Free private parking is available on site. Pros: Stayed one night as we were going to a wedding reception close by. A bit out of the way but a lovely welcoming pub. Darren, the landlord, couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. He made sure we felt a part of the crowd and made us feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble for him.we ate there before going to the reception and the food was lovely our room had everything we needed and we slept well. Darren took our breakfast order in the evening and agreed a time to serve it in the morning. The breakfast was delicious and piping hot. Would definitely stay again. Unfortunately the weather was atrocious so we didn't get chance to use the beer garden or see the beautiful views
Cons: Nothing negative
Pros: Very helpful staff & a great pub.
Pros: A good hearty breakfast served with a smile.
Cons: Soap for the bathroom could have been provided. A better selection of hot drinks and some biscuits would have been nice.
Pros: Lovely food and very welcoming
Cons: a little far from town centre
Pros: Large bedroom and comfortable bed. Reasonable price. It adjoins the pub which is convenient however there was a pub quiz on so I didn’t go in.
Cons: Lack of sausage at breakfast, particularly as other reviews had said how nice the sausage was!
Pros: Very friendly staff and locals. Asked what we wanted for breakfast at a time to suit us and happily catered for my vegetarian wife.
Cons: Thought £90 was a little pricey.
Pros: Friendly helpful staff, good breakfast
Pros: Friendly staff that couldn't do enough for you.
Cons: Nothing really
Pros: A really great pub with rooms. So welcoming, helpful and accommodating.
Pros: Excellent!!! Friendly owner and staff, lovely outdoor area

Pros: Breakfast was lovely - considering that most places now charge extra for this, we had everything including fruit, yoghurt, cereal and full english breakfast.... even marmite for toast! We got there quite late and it was nice that there were a couple of restaurants across the road.
Cons: We had a private bathroom and toilet separate to our room - it was ok but would have preferred en suite. The toilet didn't flush very well.
Pros: Friendly hosts, comfortable bed and excellent freshly cooked breakfast. Quaint cottage style B&B. Fresh milk and water in the fridge. Lovely soft towels. Room at the back away from main road and quieter.
Cons: Compact ensuite.
Pros: A warm, personal welcome, a clean and comfortable room with fresh milk for tea & coffee, a chocolate biscuit, television, comfortable bed, shower and good wi-fi. As for the breakfast, just wonderful. Free parking too.
Cons: Nothing of note.
Pros: Owner was very welcoming lovely quality products for breakfast
Pros: Lovely place to stay
Cons: Could not fault
Pros: Every thing
Pros: Owner was very nice and breakfast was nice. Overall the place is great and great value for money. Room was good and had everything needed. Dogs were welcome.
Cons: Room was good, but hot from sunny day. Bit noisy as there was busy road past the house, and for that reason could not really leave window open for the night. There was fan in the room tho.
Pros: The Welcome from Owner
Pros: did not have breakfast not available until 8am
Cons: the road noise was horrendous fast heavy goods vehicles with no respite all night long. be aware dogs welcome at a cost please ask first.
Pros: Immaculately clean guest house with 2 great hosts who cook amazing breakfast. Great location with 2 fantastic restaurants directly over the road.
Located in Blackburn, The Bluebird Inn at Samlesbury is in a rural location, within a 5-minute drive of Samlesbury Hall and Brockholes Nature Reserve. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very clean brilliant friendly staff. Lovely rooms and great food
Pros: All meals in the restaurant were excellent. Bed was comfy.

Pros: Good accommodation and breakfast at a reasonable price
Cons: Poor response to fire alarm
Pros: Very friendly staff. Great sized room and comfortable bed. Good food and drink great location. Good value for money .
Pros: The croissants were baked on the premises and lovely ,the staff attentive and friendly. There was a steak and bottle of wine deal on Saturday evening this was cooked beautifully as requested. The room was spacious and clean even the toilet paper was good quality! There were also electric vehicle charge points( Tesla destination chargers I was assured could be used by any vehicle with a type one socket)
Cons: Not much.
Pros: The decor and cleanliness.
Pros: Very good
Pros: The stringy fries with my BLT kept good and hot for ages. Staff very friendly, also lovely to our dog. Huge, very comfortable bed. Well kept pint of Manchester Bitter
Cons: Can't think of anything!
Pros: Beautiful room, quiet, clean, loads of space, huge bed, great bathroom, big TV, quality extras (tea, coffee, etc). Staff very welcoming and friendly. Good local beers in the relaxed and comfortable bar. Menus good. Breakfast excellent. Would stay again in a shot and very happy to recommend.
Cons: Nothing at all!
Pros: Very clean throughout Shower was brilliant compared to a lot of hotels
Cons: WiFi wasn’t great but wouldn’t put me off returning
Located in Blackburn, Stanley House Hotel & Spa is within a 5-minute drive of The Bee Centre and Blackburn Golf Club. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The location of the property as well as the views were both lovely
Cons: Stayed at Stanley house hotel for 1 night and had two rooms booked, beautiful hotel, perfect location, spacious rooms and scenic views, perfect for the hen party we hosted. However staff members; no smile on their faces, didn't feel a warm welcome. We then had two rooms booked side by side and we were watching tv. A member of staff then came by and asked us to stay quite. Bearing in mind we had two rooms on the complete end of the building. We then kept quiet and and hour later he came back to knock on the door and told us to be quiet, at this point due to him returning he had ruined the mood and we stopped watching tv, bare in mind we came for a hen party celebration. We also found he was Extremely unfriendly and rather patronising. Breakfast was included in our package and ignoring the event of the previous nights we happily went to attend breakfast. The restaurant main waiter (female) and waitress were so unwelcoming. No smile, no welcome, it seemed like they didn't want us there although we had paid a fair amount and deserved better. We felt so uncomfortable and had ordered eggs with soldiers, the yolk was hard inside but due to the uncomfortable encounters with the waitresses we couldn't even tell them. We got up and left. We would like to conclude that our stay was initially really exciting, the venue is amazing in itself and the facilities you provide are fab too, I would love to recommend however your staff really let us down. The bride of the hen party also has a bridal suite booked for her wedding in a couple of days and due to the unforeseen experiences, she is reconsidering her stay at the hotel for her big day which it highly upsetting. I hope this customer feedback is valued and if there is something you could do for us as a bit of compensation for our not so great experience would be much appreciated
Pros: The stay was lovely, view was amazing, the massage treatment was just what I needed. Most importantly it’s family friendly. Both my sons enjoyed exploring the grounds.
Cons: Only thing I would change is the checkout time to 12 noon instead of 11am as breakfast can be rushed especially when with small children.
Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful, looking to please. Room very pleasant. Grounds well kept. Spa well worth a visit , manager and masseuse very good
Cons: Could help maintain some of the walks from the grounds which were overgrown . Some staff more efficient than others. Could have done something special for our anniversary
Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was great and the hotel was very comfortable and clean. We will definitely be staying there again
Pros: The location
Cons: The bed was very hard and uncomfortable
Pros: The location and cleanliness
Cons: The services like Spa and Gym closes at 8:00 pm should be open til 10pm for late checkins. and the breakfast was not explained. The staff should explain that the hot food will be made when they greet the guest. Not after filling the plate with what’s out. The check out should be 12 midday.
Pros: Big comfy, modern and quiet rooms, we stayed in the Woodland rooms.
Cons: Breakfast... we had to ask for everything; drinks, food, butter and still the milk never appeared for the coffee. The service was a real let down. I was also disappointed by the breakfast selection, no plant milk and the toast was like cardboard. Very poor.
Cons: Room was dusty.
Pros: Love it, the food is lush.. The spa treatments are lush.. the pool and steam rooms are lovely , the whole place is great xxx
Pros: Lovely gardens, spa, breakfast and polite efficient staff.
Cons: Could have done with a sign for reception from the car park. Couldn't find an information leaflet in the room about the hotel and facilities. Although information online, useful to have folder to hand. Could have done with coffee maker/teapot in room. A few benches in the garden would have been nice.
Located in Preston, Riverside Barn Guest House is within a 15-minute walk of Ribchester Roman Museum and Stydd Gardens. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Staying at The Riverside is always brilliant. This was our third time staying here. The rooms are beautifully decorated, well furnished, very comfortable beds and a large wet room. There was a delicious afternoon tea waiting for us when we arrived. The rooms are down by the river only a short walk from Ribchester village. I would certainly recommend The Riverside Barn to both friends and family. With your own keys you can come and go completely independently.
Pros: Great Location, excellent host, nice welcome :)
Pros: We loved the four poster bed and how close the river was and the friendly staff and also a lovely little touch was that we had tea for two on our arrival ready in our room
Cons: Bath is a little small for two people
Pros: Complimentary cakes were amazing and the bath was huge! Within walking distance of two nice pubs, shop and a park, lovely walking trails. Perfectly situated in a relaxing village :-)
Pros: Warm and cosy and on arrival the selection of sandwiches and cakes was a lovely idea
Pros: Great location and great attention to detail
Pros: Great shower
Cons: No where for soap while you shower
Pros: Lovely property and staff. Afternoon tea a lovely touch, very clean and quiet. Great location with free parking, Ribchester by foot. The only thing I would say is that you can’t see the river due to dense vegetation so it’s not really river view as such but for fishermen the river is not far, permit from spar round the corner.
Pros: Room amazing so beautiful and shower gels smell divine. The patio was beautiful sit out sandwhich& coffee& cake just fab thank you jake who welcome us i defo recomend. 1000000 %
Pros: The bed was comfortable bu the duvet fair too high TOG. Lots of devices - some difficult to use.
Cons: Breakfast frozen, milk bottle split with the frost. Notable to eat the breakfast Separately charged) off. Room small. No shower or grab rail on the bath for older users. Near then river but no views. A converted piggery about sums it up! Overpriced for what it was
8.5 Excellent (660 reviews)

Pros: Location was good for Whalley. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

Cons: It is old and tired Thanks

Cons: Liked everything
Pros: Plenty of parking.
Cons: Gap above window in room little drafty and could hear the noise until traffic died down
Pros: Everything .
Cons: Room comfortable, clean and tidy
Pros: The location and the food
Cons: The smelly shower curtain.
This small, family-run accommodation offers free WiFi. Hill View Hotel is a 10-minute walk from Blackburn's town centre. Each bedroom at Hill View has a TV and tea/coffee, and the hotel has a TV lounge showing Sky TV. Guests can park for free at Hill View Hotel. The hotel has good access to the M6 and M65 motorways. Blackburn Train Station is about one mile away
Cons: Place was shocking and out dated
Pros: Quilt wasn’t long enough and bed was against the wall. No coat hangers for hang my shirt up
Cons: Shower head leaked all over
Pros: The bed was comfy
Cons: The breakfast was cold and forgotten items. The coffee was disgusting. Not enough tea/coffee milk or sugar in the room. Had to plug kettle in and boil on the floor!
Cons: consideration of my age in not placing me on a lower floor I was given the top attic room on the fifth top floor accessed by a flight of 'lighthouse' like steps. broken furniture-holes in carpet-low ceiling over single bed that was a constant hazard-no change of towels or bedding or bed remade-
Pros: Breakfast was good, and served quite quickly. Location was convenient for those with their own transport. My single room was at the back of the house, so was nice and quiet. When l went into the toilet nearer the front, the traffic noise from Preston New Road was quite audible and l was glad that l didn't have a room at the front.
Cons: l hadn't realised that there would not be a washbasin in the bedroom, and although l believe there were some en-suite rooms l could only find one small toilet/shower room to serve the other rooms for both floors. There was a kettle in my room but no tea/coffee/ milk etc., so on my fairly late arrival at 10.00pm (which l had notified in advance) l had to go down the road to buy a cup of coffee at the Spar shop. But on the second night the tray HAD been replenished with the necessary ingredients referred to above.
Pros: Clean an nice staff
Cons: It was all ok
Pros: Clean sheets and walking distance to town centre
Cons: Paper thin walls mean no chance of sleeping; broken lights; dirty and damaged bathroom; bathroom smelled like smoke; no chair or table in room; head of bed was against a locked cupboard in the wall so head and hands kept hitting the lock and door while sleeping; dreadful breakfast with weak coffee, stale toast, no napkins or butter
Pros: it was ok but didn't realise there would be no bacon on the menu
Pros: The location was good
Cons: Wasn’t very clean, shower was revolting and bedding wasn’t clean No toilet roll and when requested toilet roll was taken from another room
Cons: It was not nice room smelt of urine
Pros: Clean and tidy
Cons: Both shared facilities had showers of inadequate operation.one you had to hold in the start button laving only one hand free and the other the shower head would stay aloft due to broken fixture
Pros: Cheap and cheerful and breakfast in the price as a bargain. Staff were friendly enough. Rooms were good, breakfast was good. For the price you know you're not going to get The Ritz but it was perfect for my needs.
Cons: Well the breakfast room opened 3 minutes late (!) but that is a very minor quible.
Pros: Really polite, helpful. Breakfast was served promptly and was ok. Nice large comfy bed.
Cons: Property requires a small amount of attention, I.e shower room could do with a bit of titivating, and my room was next to the night staffs, which meant I was woken by the front door bell which was amplified in the staff room to alert them of clients at the front door. But that aside an absolute bargin of a hotel.
Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful. Comfortable bed, nice view from window. TV had DVD facilities, which was a bonus. Midday check-out time allowed for a much-needed lie-in!
Pros: could not wait to leave it.
Pros: Quite well located for Blackburn and centre.
Cons: Building very tired and many items broken or not working. Had to upgrade room to en-suite to avoid broken sink. Waited over 20 minutes for breakfast from due start time of 7am and no-one appeared - prebooked and paid for, but had to leave for an appointment. Would not stay recommend this place, as others nearby appeared better in all respects, albeit Hill View is cleverly marketed on the internet.
Pros: The hotel is placed close to the centre.
Cons: On my arrival - the room i paid for was not available, so the manager put me into another room and told me to pack my stuff next morning, so they can move my stuff. In my new room - there was no internet available, even it states on the website, that there is internet available. Yes, i needed to go downstairs in the kitchen so i could use the internet.
Pros: Very little
Cons: Room had a strong smell of urine in it
Pros: A basic price, you get what you pay for
Cons: Poor decour, poor facilities
Located in the heart of Blackburn and a 5 minute walk from Blackburn train station, the Blakewater Hotel offers free WiFi and free public parking nearby. Every room is equipped with a flat-screen TV. You will find a kettle and an en-suite bathroom in each room. For your comfort, you will find free toiletries and a hairdryer. There is a shared lounge at the property. King George's Hall is 500 metres from Blakewater Hotel, while Ewood Park is 1.9 km away. The nearest airport is Manchester Airport, 45 km from the property.
Pros: Bed was Comfortable, Owners were on site, tea making facility but had to move it near the bed as there was no socket where it was situated. The room was nothing like the picture on here advertising it.
Cons: We booked 2 single rooms, prior to going out we tried to have a shower but there was no hot water, had some the next morning. Building is dated had no plug for wash basin, one room the smoke alarm was just laid on top of the wardrobe, the handle for the window was laid on the window sill, and pictures that were supposed to be hung up were balsnced on the radiator or on the floor near the headboard. Did not stay for breakfast as unsure of the condition of the kitchen compared to the rest of the building.
Pros: Nothing it's awful
Cons: Everything should be on your site
Pros: Convenient location and a friendly face on arrival and at breakfast. Good tea and coffee array in the room. Comfy bed too.
Cons: Hot water rather slow to heat up, but fine once it was hot. Rooms need some TLC (bath overflow not plumbed on properly for example). Hot continental breakfast (egg on toast) rather limited, but was tasty.
Pros: Very comfortable and cosy. Staff friendly and extremely helpful
Cons: All good, a few steps to negotiate. But no real problem.
Cons: An interesting experience. Firstly, on arrival I was asked if I would take another room than the one I'd been allocated as "a very large gentleman had arrived " who couldn't manage the stairs. I obliged and found myself in the roof in Room 18. It seemed clean and dry - despite very dramatic looking cracks in the skylight window and mould on walls. There was a window with 'hanging' curtains was about 18 inches high but started at floor level and came to my knee height! The bathroom, although adequate had interesting features notably taps that turned the wrong way ( in fact, the cold tap swung away from the sink and would have poured on the floor!); the shower worked fine although the control hung freely away from the tiling and looked as though there had been an atempt to glue it in place. Additionally, the shower door did not fit so water poured over the bathroom floor as well. All the fire doors down the many stairwells were wedged open by wooden blocks - useful for my access but slightly disconcerting. Breakfast (!) cereal, juice and coffee was basic but acceptable yet sadly not enhanced by two dozen flies buzzing around the central room light as we ate. Sunday morning we were unable to raise the proprietor in time for breakfast that we needed so we went off elsewhere. I later discovered the building had formerly been a hostel which would explain the nature of the decor and limited facilities in the room ... and might explain why I had to make an initial deposit of £10 for the keys!!
Pros: Was in a good location for town centre
Cons: The property was very dirty damp mould on wall curtains hanging off
Pros: No hot water and no breakfast. They said breakfast served 6.30 to 8am but my colleagues were there before 8am
Pros: The property was right by the station and only a short trip into town. The manager/owner was very helpful.
Cons: The bathroom was in a poor state with mould on the ceiling and two walls. We couldn’t use the bath as the plug didn’t work and there was no hot water in the evening. The shower curtain was held on by wire to the ceiling and was held together by sellotape. One of the curtains was hung onto the rail by string and the window sill had been completely removed leaving exposed brickwork. The heater in the bathroom was on all night and this made the room extremely hot.
Pros: We had a hostile reception by the duty staff at 2am and he was rude We booked for double room and he made me pay 20 pounds by force and I was told if I don’t pay he would shut the door on us And we rang the bell and were opened the door after 10 mins
Cons: We had a hostile reception by the duty staff at 2am and he was rude We booked for double room and he made me pay 20 pounds by force and I was told if I don’t pay he would shut the door on us And we rang the bell and were opened the door after 10 mins
Cons: The room was poor
