Wondeful value for money at a great beach resort in Galicia.
Lovely hotel, excellent facilities, efficient and helpful staff, great breakfast in a very nice seaside resort with an excellent beach. None
Comfortable room, excellent food, helpfull staff.
Good food in the main restaurant Poor quality of food in room service.Spa facilities for women not complete e g no facials, etc Main problem was air conditioning in the room was faulty.
Excellent hotel, room and facilities
O the back of the hotel there is a park where the kids and grown ups can have fun - good for families. We were allowed to enter the hotel at 4pm and leave at 12am, less than 20 hours for 130€...Also I was not allowed to book the hotel directly for one single night, only through booking.com
I like to stay in this Hotel In the winter season; it is good to relax without so many people.
Location, Excellent spa , staff, room is fantastic, and most off all veiw is the best. Soap finish before I finish bath.
The localization of the hotel (excellent, near the beach), the room quality (very good) with full sea room view, the breakfast (in particular the fruit selection, with magnific strawberries), the spa with salt water and several facilities (inner pool, sauna, etc...) The employees of the reception did not provide an adequate attention during my check-in. I had to wait to much time, few information was given and also I had to ask 3 (!!!) times for a crade, which only was delivered latter. Also, the 4pm hour for inicial check-in is too late in my oppinion. I would expect something like 2pm and not 4, which makes you "waste" a big part of the afternoon
All was magnificent! Nothing, all very much was pleasant.
the situation is fantastic a wee bit expensive - particularly if you did not make use of the spa facilities
The spa, the confort and the beautiful view of the sea. The spa was full of people, and we need to wait to go to the pools.
Excellent spa, beautiful rooms wit a perfect sea view. Helpful staff. Just everything you needed for a nice stop over
We like every thing, but the best have to be the relax atmosphere even in height season, the surrounds are breath takenig. The delicious buffet breakfast kept as full until later afternoon. Highly recommended
The hotel staff doesn't speak english, no service mentality, no service on the pool, Spa is ok but ages away from european real spa standarts, Hotel rooms look old or at least the ones we had. Very nice & sufficient breakfast buffet. Very clean and large SPA. Very kind & helpful hotel staff (but, not much English speaker). Very nice restaurant in front of the hotel (Same chain) and also at the Gran Hotel Hesperia.
The excellent Restaurant with first class service and well cooked food. The location on the coast with superb hotel facilities
Nice hotel in nice location Was disappointed that the price of the room did not include access to the indoor swimming pool and this was not made clear to me in advance.
Indoor pools during bad weather Improve selection of tv channels. Make available one english-speaking newspaper.
god facilities, quiet
Good location - big well designed room Food, service and music in hotel resturant not in line with quality of the rest of the hotel
The spa facilities were very beautiful and relaxing. The rooms were cleaned immaculately. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Be careful to book a spa experience with breakfast rather than just a room, otherwise you'll pay extra for the facilities and the breakfast. Massage a bit disappointing.
Everything is new and perfect for a four stars hotel.the spa is very good.
The hotel has a beautiful spa, enjoyable in sunny and rainy days since it is partially covered. The seaview is gorgeous and everything is totally set for your comfort and relax. We spent a great week among the spa, the kids pool and the relaxing restaurant area in the garden.
The pool area was nice and it catered for children. The prices were high for what we were provided, but then it was high season. The Spa treatment was poor and the spa itself is overpriced with a (typically Spanish) unknowledgeable staff.
Almost everything, from the quietness to the sober decoration.
Excellent on site restaurant, very nice swimming pool, good treatments in the spa, very friendly staff Nice hotel, just don't stay there in high season, way to expensive for what it has to offer.
Excellent hotel, staff always very nice, fantastic spa, good breakfast, walk distance from the town center... An excellent stay! Plus, they offered us a suite instead of a double for the same price, which was great! None, all was perfect
Excellent facilities.Attentave staff and superb restaurant. Perhaps for charging for my kids using the pool. 2 x 2yr olds !
Although the hotel had some very beautiful common rooms and the bedrooms were comfortable, it lacked an ambience. Breakfast was nice No restaurant to speak of and we had to travel 10 - 15 kms to find the next village to eat. Difficult to find as the address says Vilagarcia but it is not in Vilagarcia.
Building and gardens were very pleasant. The quality of care from the staff enabled us to have a relaxing vacation. Swimming pool pleasant and not overcrowded. Lounge areas comfortable and attractive. We found some difficulty initally locating the hotel (as we did not have GPS). The address did not generate easy directions from internet map websites.
Pool Reception staff not very good
An interesting building with character, and antique furnishings to the communal areas, and the food was excellnt - one of the best steaks I've ever had. There is a decent sized pool with sun beds and grassed areas, but it has restricted opening times - strangely closed between 1400 and 1600, I think due to supervision issues - but a real nuisance when you simply wish to relax in the sun.
nice room and pool, excellent breakfast thin walls
Great building with a lovely pool Menu was a litle restricted and a very small wine list
Beautiful hotel. Food OK, but not amazing. Very clean. Staff very accommodating. Very much enjoyed staying here and would choose to stay again Disappointed that there was no wi-fi in the room and it didn't work very well in the common areas.
very pleasant stay
Most attentive helpful reception staff with added bonus of having some knowledge of English, not common in Galicia. Good lounges and internet access. Pool not open in late June! Government inspectors blamed. No real garden. Room too hot and close: ch set not to go below 19 deg C. Poor bathroom ventilation. Breakfast not four star standard: relatively poor range of hot and cold meat, cheese, etc., only comprehensive in regard to sweet cakes. No English spkg tv channel, despite availability elsewhere of cnn and sometimes Sky News.
We stayed in one of the hotel suites which was perfect in every detail and we really liked the authentic "castle " feel to the place. We were a little surprised at the restaurant service it didnt quite match the level of quality generally at the hotel but it was ok.
The hotel is in a quiet location with no noisy neighbours. The staff were very friendly, helpful and spoke good English. The room was very clean, spacious and more like a small suite with the separate lounge area converted to a bedroom for our 12year old who was sharing with us. The dinner menu was interesting, varied and the food excellent except for the unripe nectarines which were served as the "fruit" choice on two nights. Liked the shaded car parking and the outdoor pool.
Superb family run hotel, quiet and very relaxing. nothing
Beautiful landscape, very well maineted building, rooms and facilities, very nice staff
friendly family atmospere. nothing was too much trouble. food was excellent and there were three communal areas to relax in. we could not find fault in this hotel.
The hotel is very well decorated, confortable and clean. The sorroundings are very peaceful and yet it's close to several nice and interesting places. In the rooms you can find suggestions about what to explore in the area.
Very good and pleasant accomodation and very nice welcome.
The setting was beautiful, the grounds immaculate and the hotel was very clean. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful .The room was very well fitted and comfortable and the breakfasts were plentiful and varied.
Very well presented hotel. Spacious room. Nice public areas Location is bit out of the way. Not recommended for anyone without a car.
Staff was very helpful It did not have the sea view room as the pictures shown
The position overlooking the estuary, and the breakfast buffet Not enough variation with the dinner menu.
The room and view Need extractor fan in Bathroom as windows cant be open in bad weather
The staff were most helpful. Very relaxed atmosphere. lovely surroundings. I would have preferred a more varied evening menu on the 'a la carte'
Spacious, high quality building. Nice carpets. Diffident receptionist.
New hotel - large rooms - nice breakfast Close to a noisy road - no beach or sea access - ground not well maintained
We were really disappointed by the fact that the hotel was billed on your website as being"200 yards" from the city centre when in fact it was 2 kilometres from the town centre. It was on the spur of a dual carriageway, in the middle of nowhere, which made it impossible to do anything except drive. For a hotel billed as being 4-star, there wasn't even an information pack inside the room about the services the hotel offered. In order to get to the outside swimming pool it was necessary to walk through the reception and out of the front door. The quality of the bathroom toiletries was poor too.
1. the staff: Ronald, Susanna, Aurea, greeted us kindly and with interest in what we did;they gave personal attention at all times: the room staff kept the hotel meticulously clean: the waitors, Oscar was friendly and attentive but not pushy but the star of the whole show was Noemi who was kindness embodied and very very nice. The garden was pleasant. We wanted an out of town hotel which was quiet and this was. Our room was a suite, comfortable and large with a lovely logia overlooking the garden. It doesn't fit in tomany of your categories. It was lovely. Everything was delightful
Cleanliness Size of rooms friendliness of bar/restaurant staff Hotel situated on very busy main road Food boring with limited choice Noise echoed quite badly
The views and the cleanliness Did not hire bikes as stated and more soundproofing
We had a top floor room facing the beach and it was paradise and the room and facilities were very clean and tidy. 3 nights for the 2 of us came to €165 euros breakfast and wifi included and in July - I really can't see how I will ever get as good of a deal as this again!
room was wonderful, large, with fantastic sea view.excellent value for money paid. food at the hotel restaurant - not tasty and quite expensive for the set menu that was offered. Location - great if you come by car which was our case. without a car - it is quite remote and isolated, nothing around it.
Location near the beach, excelent access by road Poor breakfast, only self service restaurant, little room between furniture
Well placed, staff spoke English, excellent restaurant Having to pay to use the garage is mean
Clean, friendly staff
Thoroughly recommend this Hotel and we are seasoned travellers.Excellent sea views Quiet at night Good modern design.Very helpful and pleasant staff Comprehensive breakfast included Will stay again.Easy access to Santiago and Pontevedra by car
Helpful and friendly staff. Great view of the beach. The beds were hard, and seemed cheaply made. The 85 euro/night rate seemed too much for the room and services (but maybe the beachfront location explains it).
Friendly and very pleasant hotel. Situated along the river Arousa. Service and rooms very good. Breakfast is enough. Parking
The staff were very helpful and very plesant. The hotel was clean and tidy. For breakfast there was a variety to choose from and the resturant provided some lovely food (although a little on the expensive side). The location was just out side the main town centre and a 5 minute taxi ride away (7 Euros). Would recommend for a weekend break.
The buffet breakfast which was included with the room rate. Also, the terrace with water fountain where there was beverage service was most pleasant. The rooms were large. The carpeting in the hallway and stairway needs to be cleaned or replaced.
THe facility needed some updating. It was near the town center - great in the day, but a booming concert at night made the walls shake and sleep difficult.
Beautiful renovated medieval building. Excellent location on the waterfront. Excellent breakfast, especially the fresh fruit. Some minor weak points: irritating generic classical muzak in the restaurant. No coffee/tea making facilities in the room and no room service before 8am.
we really liked the location,so easy to town, restaurants, board walk and bus station.the parador is very nice and warm and not too austere like some we have visited. when i asked one desk employee for a dinner recommendation ,she snipped "the parador" and then when i politely responded that we would like to walk and dine outside the hotel she sort of rattled off a few places but very quickly and with disinterest as if they were all the same and not worth her time.Made the parador seem desperate for business and was a very stuffy attitude to display to a guest.Another younger girl was quite helpful earlier in telling us interesting port towns close by that we could visit. So I would chalk the dinner incident up to the individual and not the general attitude of the other employees.
Attentive staff, large comfortable room, interesting local based menu. An excellent touring area; would definitely return.
Location and good service.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Food smell on the rooms corridor.
situation was terriific
This is a very nice place to stay; the location is beautiful facing La Toja and at a walking disstance to the nice restaurants. We only stayed one night but we intend to repeat . The staff is very nice and helpful. No
Wifi. Nice rooms. Well-located.
Good room and location. Staff seemed inexperienced and nervous which made us feel uncomfortable. No evening/lunchtime restaurant.
Situation, sightseen, staff, services
Exceptionally friendly & helpful staff. Good breakfast. A short walk to a range of excellent restaraunts.
Friendly & attentive staff , excellent location for the town of O Grove & La Toja . Ample breakfast . Very clean & modern . Thoroughly recommended . Would stay again !!
excellent hotel, would stay there again and would recommed the hotel no
Very nice staff. Good breakfast. 5 minutes to walk to the beach. Everything was okay.
Nice small hotel, family atmosphere. Staff very helpful.
If you get a room a the back of the hotel the views and brilliant. Staff very friendly and helpful. The beds are metal framed and quite noisy.
Freindly staff, lovely scenery, good breakfast. Helpful with recieving faxes plus wirefree internet available. Best value we have found for a number of years. Needs detailed directions. Personaly a position for sat nav would have been usefull, worth considering for the future.
The setting of the hotel is excellent. Unfortunately yes.
Price, balcony overlooking the sea, breakfast , comfortable room loveley walks Finding it. map was no good- took an hour to find and then a local offered to let us follow him in the car. Distance from town only true if you are fit enough to walk over a headland ( great bar/ restaurant there) otherwise you would have to drive
The staff was very helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The view was beautiful. The grounds were not kept nice. The rooms were not sound proof. The wedding party band was very loud and kept us awake our last night.
It was just great..I will definetly stay there again next year
Location - though I can understand some reviewers complaint on difficulty to find. Fortunately pre-warned meant that I took time to make sure I knew directions before travelling. Very slightly isolated position without a car, though I imagine some people would prefer that quality.
Quiet location easy acces to beach and coastline Difficult to find even with Satnav
The hotel was situated on a secluded beach within sight of Ribeiro across the water which afforded splendid night views. Our room was well appointed and the balcony was pleasing. Free internet service was available in the Lobby which was convenient and appreciated. No negatives at all except perhaps the difficulty in finding the hotel which was connected to the main highway by a series of back lanes with no signs indicating direction to be taken.
