location ok and room good small swimming pool and hardly any sun beds.breakfast rubbish!
lovely rrom comfortable bed, very clean, good aircon. The fact that you had to pay for parking
Hotel is located in the romantic city centre in a 14th century castle, breakfast and dining in the beautiful patio. Small but nice swimming pool, large rooms. Bathroom ok, but basic. Kitchen is excellent. Beds are classic but not the most comfortable.
Pleasant surrounding and quiet. Reception was well organised, the staff helpful, excellent ambiance for an after drive drink in the courtyard and breakfast the following morning was bountiful. The parador was a little tricky to find. After walking around the town in search of a local restaurant the only one that was open served some less that satisfying tapas/food. Given the obvious local colour and reputation for interesting food the local community should give some thought to providing a better selection of food other than an Irish Pub
A beautiful building, attentive and friendly staff. Peaceful, quiet and very relaxing
Wonderful to stay in the castle. Staff allowed us to have a quick walk around the battlements (you need to ask at the front desk for this). Good food in the restaurant.
General atmosphere I thought the staff could have been a bit more interested in the visitors
Central location, very nice decorated hotel, friendly staff. WIfi not available and no internet access in room.
I particularly liked the atmosphere of the central court area at all times of day. My room had a view to the car park and my sleep was disturbed by noisy young people outside the window in the early hours of the morning.
The hotel decor in both rooms and public areas was enhanced by the beautiful, traditional furniture pieces. The central open courtyard, set up up with dining tables, attracts you as soon as you walk into the hotel. We could walk easily around the town from the hotel's location. The pool did not open until 12 noon (but this was the case at a few hotels, not just this one.)
very nice garden, rooms excellent and fantastic location in the wondeful village of Zafra
Minibar had soft drinks, was included in a price, helps a lot when you arrive and want to have a drink , at least water.Gives a nice feeling you get something "free". Excellent breakfast! In our room: little windows, noise from the street during the night. When the windows closed ok., but it was a hot night.
The rooms were excellent - both decorative and size. The gardens were delightful and ideal for enjoying a peaceful drink. The staff were very helpful and happy.
Absolutely fantastic. There was not one thing you could fault. Great staff, great food, great room, great location.Just wish we had stayed longer.
It did not meet expectations
Beautiful old building. Fabulous room and bathroom. Good wi-fi. The service provided did not match the quality of the building. There was only one ( very hard working ) member of stall in the whole hotel. If you wanted a drink at the bar you had to get him from reception and if he was on the phone you had to wait. No restaurant. Much too expensive compared to other good hotels in Spain where we have much better for less money.
The hotel had a lot of character and was tastefully furnished. Having breakfast at the patio/courtyard was a very pleasant experience. The staff was warm and welcoming. We also liked the fact that this hotel is pet-friendly. We had a front room that faced the plaza, and sounds and voices woke us up intermittently. If you are a light sleeper, better pack ear plugs.
Amazing, relaxing, classy, unique, and all around fabulous hotel.
They always wash my car the night before I Ieave.
To much noise, from the extirior of the hotel, the Friday night.
A very good quality 4 star hotel not in the historic centre of town but lots of bars and restaurants around it no charge for pets I first class hotel at a very good price no
Pet friendly and the fact that the hotel is recent There is a night club in the hotel with loud music all night long and smoke coming into the bedroom from the club as smoking is allowed indoors in Spain. We left the hotel at 5 am because it was unbearable.
the design and the staff who were very helpful and extremely friendly . It is in a quiet area of the city whose people are very lovely and has a nice terrace in first flor with nice wine and meals.
Large rooms with good facilities. Very clean. Quite central to town, easy walk to shops and restaurants. Took a long time to locate. Need a good map!
Good food. No hot water in our room during our stay although we did not report this to reception.
overnighting but very comfortable
very clean and quiet
The furnishing in the room and hotel in general. We saw a Menu del Dia advertised outside the restaurant which made us choose to eat there but it was not available.
Very quiet, lovely staff. Rooms were very cold, Had to ask for more bedding. Not good for families very unsafe design inside - balcony has no safety rails inside on any of the floors.
It's As far away from the railway station as it could be without being in another town ! Not bad for the bus station though.
It is not expensive. Located between a Chicken Farm and a Gas Station, the presence of a swimming pool cannot make up for the smell, insects, depressing location and used insecticides. We were booked for four nights but were not willing to stay for more than 1 night. We felt we had to get out of there asap.
The hotel was very quiet and clean and that was for us during our trip through spain very important.
Hotel has a brilliant chef in the dining room and a midday or evening meal is a must. Great access from the highway and not noisy. Swimming pools not open as it was not "the season" even though the pools were full and fully serviced.
Nifce room and it was so nice and quiet!
Very convenient, very good facilities and incredible value for money.
good location, just off the highway, for travellers passing through, hotel billed our credit card for the room prior to our arrival, claiming this was Booking.com policy. they did agree to refund the card when we paid with cash, as we did for all our Booking.com hotels on our Spanish trip.
Nice big room and bathroom, dog friendly; good 3 star hotel just off the motorway with leisure facilities. Smoking allowed in the bar/cafeteria areas.
Convenient position on main highway yet quiet with own cafeteria which allowed us to eat and bring our dog along.
Rooms were nice and tidy, staff available 24 hours, restaurant in the hotel. 3 pools and an outside bar Wifi didn't work very well (one from the staff had to set it up for us), breakfast was not very good. Portion size for the dinner was too small for most of our party.
Great hotel conveniently located 15-20 minutes from Merida. I enjoyed the use of the sauna and beautiful outdoor swimming pool. The food in cafeteria was very good and reasonably priced, as is usually the case in southern Spain. The toilet (cisterna) was stopped-up but quickly repaired when I reported it to the front desk.
We did not like anything The rooms too dark the lighting poor. No tv for non spanish. safe did not work Shop not open. food very average . the bar not cosy and not very friendly.. Breakfast poor.
charming location with splendid view on ancient fortress hotel staff was mono-lingual
The soundproofing of the rooms was very poor
The location in the centre was excellent and the Hotel had a nice relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very helpful but as in most Spanish Hotels, they spoke no English. Dinner in the Restaurant was very good but hugely overpriced. The Receptionist was very helpful in giving us an upgraded room. Breakfast left a great deal to be desired. There was practically no fresh fruit, no hot food and little choice. The waiter did his best to make up for it by finding another orange.
The room decor and comfort were very good including the bathroom with its huge walk in shower We used the hotel restaurant in the evening which we did not enjoy at all
The girl on the reception desk was more than helpful nothing too much trouble. Rooms a delight. Better than the 3 stars rated. Do not go into the hotel restaurant. It was appalling. It let the hotel down completely. Helpful advice to hotel manager/owner sack the chef and have a word with the waiting staff!!
Very nice location. Room windows with zero view...
The atmosphere of charme and ellegance, the decoration. The inner terrace, "patio" with the castel behind. The wiew from our room was like a fairy tale. I wake up early in the morning, the sun was rising, it was magic!!! The location is perfect, inside the historic area. The staff was very kind and helpfull. Splendid!!! A clearer identification of the entrance of the hotel.
Sitting in the courtyard drinking Sangria as the very hot day(over 30 degrees) gradually cooled,
The bedroom was fine, also the bathroom. This is not an hotel in the generally accepted use of that word. It is a spa or health centre for aged people, most of whom walk around in dressing gowns all day waiting for treatments. We had to be provided with a map to find our way to our bedroom. Public areas are a disaster. It was in so many ways so unlike an hotel that we ended up enjoying our one night there, although we would never go back.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable, pool area fine,a very relaxing overnight stay not many staff spoke english, and we didnt speak much spanish
convenient stop close to motorway, well appointed warm bathroom Very hard beds, poor overall service particularly in restaurant and no offer of help with luggage bearing in mind distance from car park to room
Easy to find. Good size room. Poor food, main course from the freezer.
the spa pool the very worst evening meal we have ever had in all our travels the standard was less than acceptable and the meal was served so very late 9.00pm is very late for weary travellers
Manager went out of his way to ensure our comfort, translating the menu for dinner. Had a group of 4 hotel staff checking the room after we had checked in, should have been done before.
