It was clean, nicely decorated and the receptionist was very helpful and spoke English. There was also secure ample parking and it was close to all the amenities within Lorient From the directions given, it was hard to find. The directions were in- adequate and should be more detailed.
The hotel was clean and simple. There was a welcoming reception area and the staff were always pleasant and happy to help. Handy secure parking behind the hotel and roadside parking too. It was a short walk to the harbour in Lorient where there were plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.
Free Wifi! Nice host, good location, free guarded parking.
Very well located. Staff were nice. Room small and toilet extremely small. The toilet was a major reason for not recommending this hotel.
The staff was excellent; we were there during a festival and requested a quiet room, which we were given. The room was clean and very comfortable. The restaurant was excellent and our waiter was very gracious in helping us understand the menu and helping me with my French. We loved the location for the festival!! The only thing we didn't like was that parking was not available in the lot--it was full because of the festival and we had to park on the street.
Good parking, clean and tidy, helpful and polite english speaking staff, quiet guests, easy to find. No
Enjoyed the old-world atmosphere of the surroundings. Cosy, clean rooms with free WiFi and a view of the river were excellent. Above all, the entire village was nice and especially enjoyed roaming the streets at night. Seafood next door was OK. Expensive breakfast, we did not take it.
Quaintness and comfort! The hotel bar did not stay open late.... ie after 10.00, it was practically impossible to get a drink in Pont Aven full stop!
Our room was very quiet and comfortable. The breakfast service was charming and the food very nice. The owners were warm and friendly.
Location at Pont Aven. Right along the Riverside. Very Good Very friendly Staff.
The owners and their family were so helpful and sociable, the hotel is a good base for beaches, countryside and shopping. There is sailing schools, nice restaurants. all in all a beautiful location. No tea or coffee or tea facilities in room
Excellent hotel and staff. Location is fantastic and Pont Aven is a really pleasant place to spend time. The owner recommended a local restaurant which was reasonable and the food was excellent. Would definitely go back.
We enjoyed being right on the estuary. The hotel is located at the end of the road to Pont Aven, and, while it is a tourist-y place, the area by the hotel is very quiet at night. The building was charming with its thatched roof and flower boxes. The breakfast was good and the managers were very helpful and pleasant. The Pont Aven area was perfect for what we wanted to do during our visit.
The view of the harbour. Expensive breakfasts and small bedroom.
Hotel very well run. Staff very helpful and all round excellent hotel No
Warm atmosphere,good servis
charming staff, clealiness of the room, the free internet access
Excellent service and cleanliness of the room. NO
Assistance from staff Yes - the fact that there was no mention on the website that parking was free on the streets if you could find it but cost 5 euros for the garage.
Very good location, calm, parking in surrounding streets. Nothing special but a reasonable comfort.
nice place good location will be coming back
Nice and symphatic staff. Hotel does not book off your credit card if you do not arrive for some reason and are reactive to the remarks made on booking, even send you email to arrange things before arrival ! Parking is not easy in the streets around the hotel.
Staffs are always friendly and very helpful(This is my second visit). Good location for my purpose(4-5min on foot from railway station, a few min walk to the city center, the hotel's surrounding is nicely quiet). The room is clearn and have all what I need(desk, free WIFI, bathtub).Very good value for money. I don't find anything to complain here. However If I try to find one, it would be the fact that guests cannot control the temperature of heating system. The room wasn't warm enough for me while I am working at the desk after midnight, but I guess it was good temperature for sleeping. I didn't have breakfast so I can't talk about it.
Friendly kind.. clean facility... everything is great
The staff were very helpful and friendly(family run hotel)the evening meals were excellent quality and superb value.Rooms are basic but spotless, all in all we enjoyed our stay The only minor niggle was soap and shower gel was not replenished but when requested ample was supplied
It did what it said on the tin (think travel lodgein the UK) Smoking in the bar/lounge/restaurant area (by staff sitting at the bar whilst guests ate breakfast)- but it is in France!
We stayed for leisure purposes although I would say this hotel would be more suited for business purposes.
situated perfect and good food.
The staff. Easy to find from the main road. The restaurant. There was very little lighting in the room and nowhere to sit apart from the bed. The hotel was obviously very modern when built but now needs some refurbishment.
Quiet friendly place, suited for my needs
Very pleasant & helpful management. Room a bit cramped and dark due to its position facing north.
access close to beach and private car park
The staff were extremely helpful and inviting. The room was large and quite comfortable. The TV remote did not work and the walls were quite thin.
Michelle, the owner welcomed us warmly, was extremely helpful with our language difficulties, although she had trouble with speaking English, she did her very best. Arranged help with our luggage and was thoroughly effecient in all she did for her guests.A truly warm and lovely lady. Thank you from both my sister and myself. There was nothing to dislike. We give it full marks.
Location to towns that I was visiting. The restaurant was closed.
Friendly. Basic but clean accommodation. Good views and excellent location. Good breakfast and relaxed atmosphere. No not for the money.
The proprietors were very friendly and helpful. The Michelin guide says that the breakfast room faces the sea which it does but I assumed that the hotel was on the front which it is not. The bulkhead light in the bedroom above the bed was rather inadequate and the lighting could be improved
We loved the hotel. It's got a lot of personal touch to it, the rooms are lovely and the staff is super-friendly and helpful. We also liked the little verandah with a spy-glass on the second floor. The quality-price correlation is perfect. I would highly recommend it. There is a detail which was fine with us, but might bother some visitors - there was not light in the shower cabin, the light was coming from the general light in the bathroom, so it was a bit darkish inside, and there was no convenient hook for the shower - so one has to hold it in hand all the time. But it is a minor detail that did not spoil our impression of the otherwise perfect hotel.
Warm welcome by breakfast staff. The room was a long way from the main building and there were no lights to mark the path late at night. The room was not cleaned on arrival at 1530. The hotel owner was not forthcoming with advice about facilities and only offered information when asked.
staff very attentive room needed redecoration
The staff was extremely helpful even though there were some language issues. The hotel is sorely in need of an upgrade, which we understand will commence soon. Had we known its current state, we would likely have opted to stay elsewhere
The peace and majesty of this historic establishment, its magnificent gardens, noble trees and wildlife are striking. The members of the staff are devoted to the guests, providing delicious meals, comfortable rooms, and excellent facilities. The deer, the sparrow hawk and the owl fascinate. No
This hotel has great charm, being a former family home, and has many old mementoes and furniture which give you the feeling you are staying in a private house. It is set in peaceful grounds and the reception staff are friendly. Lots of Michelin recommended restaurants nearby. On our second night we ate in their small restaurant, and the service was very slow. I have a feeling that all was not well in the kitchen and other staff were covering the kitchen jobs, as the young waiters kept disappearing for ages. Others may have a better experience.
Beautifull ancient castle in the point of brittany. beautifull castle park surroundings in castle settings with chappel. Good receprtion by very helpful staff. Very unclear pricing ! Pricing at booking.com will be surcharged with castle- fee of more than double the booking.com price, which is a devious pricing practice. Rooms are furnished in the authentique castle style, but rather smaller and stuffed with vases etc... than modern comforts requires.
Nothing. There was not even a bus service that ran hourly. Had to walk to get to Lorient festival pushing 4 year old in stroller for one and a half hours. Never again. Hotel located facing motorway and factories, car spray paint fumes in mornings. Bus drivers did not know where it was so got off bus 3 miles away at midnight, very scary. Awful location. No taxi's available ever for festival. D'ful. The hotel was so old. We paid for a room for three and the spare bed was a fold down piece of board that had metal sticking up that could injure children. Privacy was good and breakfast was good.
The restaurant. There was a musty smell when we entered the room and it was very small for a family room. There was not adequate lighting. One of the cups left with the tea facilities was dirty. Once all the beds were pulled out there was no floor space and the table disappeared as it folded out into a bed so you were left with only one bedside locker to put anything on! Ridiculous set up.
lack of storage space .Position of kettle could be hazardous if young children were to stay in room as was on a shelf above a bunk bed!
Room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. No wardrobe or drawers in bedroom
It was the only available hotel at the time - the Lorient Interceltic festival was on, so all other hotels fully booked!l The price! 140 Euros for a simple triple room with no breakfast.
Excellent dinner. The room was described as having an excellent view.In effect the only way to see the sea was to remain standing in order to look through a very small window. The room was so small you could not stand up when getting out of bed.Although booked for two we left after one day very dissapointed.
Everything was first class, food, position, staff.
Well located, comfortable. A free of charge parking would be appreciated.
Loved the bathroom
THe rooms were clean and tidy hotel well situated no bar. charge of six euro a day parking bit naughty
Good attitudes in reception, good location Poor breakfast
It was modern, clean and comfortable with a good sized double room and en-suite. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, although a kettle and two cups was provided when we asked with two tea bags. (No milk or coffee)
Well maintenanced, clean and confortable room. The staff was so helpful and kind. The breakfast was reasonable and full of a variety of materials.
Very nice place. Very comfortable beds. Nice bathroon with excellent shower. Great Breakfast. Wonderful owners. I have zero negative comments to make. Maybe add another hook in the bathroom. That's it!
