Pros: The consideration of accepting my last minute booking and ushering me into the restaurant in time for last orders, prior to checking me in. It seemed like a lively and friendly hotel for groups and families, there was plenty of parking and the quality of everything was high.
Cons: Despite there being windows in the room, it seemed as though it hadn't been opened for ages. The air was stale. I would like the hotel to open windows more frequently and also the door to the bathroom.

Bramsche is a nice village, and the hotel is nicely located in park-like surroundings. We enjoyed our stay and thought the place and the stay was good value. Cons: The website says the restaurant is open until 10pm but last orders are at 9pm. A little misleading. We ended up at McDonald’s and could have stayed somewhere far cheaper, but wanted a decent evening meal on arrival.

Pros: Kind people in the restaurant, very helpful. The food was very good. Good quality. Good wines. Good service. Sauna and welness quite good also.
Cons: Breakfast is not up to date. I mean there are a lot of options with wegetables and more healthy things. I mean bread, jam full of sugars, ... and eggs, coffee, tea, ... I mean why not avocado, salads, ... bio/sugar free, ...

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Well run and good value hotel. Located near the autobahn and surrounded by pretty north German countryside. Can recommend the restaurant food.
Cons: My single room had been used by smokers.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I have been several times in this family operated hotel, and it has a very nice atmosphere. You feel at home right away. Nice people and they serve great food for very reasonable prices
Cons: There will be some point that a renovation is necessary to keep up with competition. For example the bathroom is big enough but the shower itself is small for large people. I travel frequently and you can find more modern facilities for the same amount of money. But the question is if you renovate, the hotel migth loose its character. The TV is too far away from the bed to watch from your bed. Or maybe my eyes are getting worse However overall a fine hotel with some a nice owner and staff
6.8 Good
Pros: Nice quiet location in nice area
Cons: Lack or open restaurant.maybe the restaurant opens on weekends but on the Thursday night our group was there we ended up having a long walk to a pizzarea
Kloster Malgarten - Bramsche - Building
8
8.7 Excellent (145 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Bramsche, Kloster Malgarten is within a 10-minute drive of Darnsee and Tuchmacher Museum. This hotel has 5 meeting rooms available for events. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is the most magical place we have ever stayed in! It was like travelling back in time to the fifteenth century or so and we felt entirely happy and relaxed during our stay. Malgarten is as picturesque and unspoilt a place as you can imagine, and the individual rooms are beautifully furnished in an old-fashioned and delightful kind of way which we found utterly charming and delightful. The beds are super comfortable with cosy duvets and pillows and soft linen. Our room had pretty woven curtains with a matching tablecloth on the table before the window and an easy chair in the corner, bedside tables with individual lamps, and the walls are painted in warm shades of limewash as they probably were several centuries ago. The bathroom was tiled, spacious and fully functioning with a selection of towels and very good shower gel. Each room door has an ancient key and a different name written on, the name, we were told, of the nuns who used to live here. There is an extremely well-equipped communal kitchen with lots of breakfast items in fridges and cupboards, and mineral water to help yourself to in one fridge. The stairs lead to a large landing not a dining table and the landing with its ancient dark wooden floor continues into a wide corridor from which many rooms are accessed. There are vases of fresh flowers everywhere and we had the sense that this place is loved and revered, and its guests are welcomed and looked after. Wonderful! And the area immediately round the Kloster is most beautiful, with a sculpture walk through the forest and several old barns and outbuildings where various artisans and artists work. You can potter round and go more or less everywhere. The church, too, is well worth a visit. At weekends there’s a Gasthaus near the fine entrance gateway and there’s a pizzeria across the road where you can sit outside with a beer or glass of wine. The village itself is just a scattering of houses.
Cons: We were put off by the 5pm check-in time initially which seemed ludicrously early for a “guest house”, but this is no ordinary place, and its warden does not live on site. If you come by 5, there’ s plenty of time to explore and enjoy the place, part of its charm. We were also a bit confused about how to get there and where to park as well as which of the many doors or bells to try - but we will know next time! I guess it would be quite useful for guests to be sent at least the first page of the information document which was lying in our room which tells a bit about how it all works. Some people might object to the church bells ringing the hours and half hours, but we loved that as we live next to a church anyway. If you are there on your own, you could find the long dark corridors, squeaky floorboards and emptiness a bit spooky, especially at night, and there is no television, although the internet works fine. That didn’t bother us. It has a friendly feel to it and any ghosts would, we’re sure, be of the friendly kind!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This wonderful old convent has a great atmosphere. Each room is named after a nun who lived there hundreds of years ago.

Cons: Everything was greate
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very welcoming, the accommodation was beautiful & comfortable. It was like sleeping in a museum!
Cons: Unfortunately, all the pillows & duvets were filled with feathers. So because of my severe allergy to feathers, I had to use blankets from our car & it was a very cold night!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice walking around the gardens. Close to the motorway A1. Good food in the Italian restaurant across the road.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful location. Unique complex of old buildings beautifully restored. Lovely walks through the grounds. We felt free to wander and explore the buildings and grounds where there are artists works and sculptures.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the heritage vibe was fabulous, something that could not be created. Loved it
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location and something out of the ordinary. The history of the site and the appropriate inclusions of modern technology make for a fascinating experience. We enjoyed exploring the site and the quirky art installations.
Cons: A choice of pillows would be appreciated as I am allergic to feathers. We enjoyed the bells tolling but some may consider it annoying.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: 800 year old building. Remote and super-quiet.
Cons: In house WiFi was weak and unreliable. Check in was perfunctory and needed more opportunity for questions. A guest bicycle would have been good.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was original and very old and therefore interesting - friendly service from Ms. Schlemmer, but awfully hard to find - even with the latest TomTom software.
