comfortable rooms, central areas and fitness/indoor swimming pool.Helpful stafflocation next to beautiful coastline poor main courses in set price evening buffet.Poor choice and poor quality - dried out.
Relaxing ambience, without a lot of people Staff could be a little bit more friendly, some of them don't have experience
Hotel facilities are very good. The staff acts properly for a 5* hotel. For a 5* hotel the breakfast buffet could be better
The rooms were beautiful and clean, the beach was excellent. It was very close to Lisbon and surrounding points of interest. Also great if you're a golfer. Hotel staff, particularly the outdoor bar near the pool. Only one staff member was working this area, and with only a handful of customers, it was painfully slow to get a drink (ie 20 minutes and then only with a reminder). No apologies and no welcoming atmosphere. It was just like Trip Advisor comments we read prior to booking......
We booked this hotel for a luxury stay (expected from a 5 star rated hotel) but were very disappointed: bathroom was not clean, dinner-buffet was awfull (no choice, cold, too expensive), old-fashioned pool-chairs with dirty pillows, ... Totally not worth 5 stars!! Stain on fame of Marriott!!
Nice rooms with Marriot standart confort. Bad price quality relation. Room price is too high compared with what is offered. Food is expensive and there are no alternatives near by (Peniche is 20 minutes away). Not even a playroom for children.
The silence, the ocean... The animation service, the hours for some animation (Ex. spining).
Good breakfast. Fantastic sea view and green surrounding the hotel. When we got back to the room after having dinner, we found our bags had been scrambled around and some pieces of clothing were left to the floor. Someone had been messing around our luggage, though nothing was missing. Not a good welcoming treat in any case.
Fantastic hotel with good location and sufficient space. I've been very disappointed by the mattress state. Every night;, i have backache due to the too soft and old bedding. It has been reported to the reception but they just added a wooden plate under the mattress instead to replace it ! The breakfast was a little bit confusion as well...
The staff was excellent!Especially the reception was very helpful and friendly. The inner decoration of the hotel is nice and relaxing and the spa is a very good asset. The nature around the hotel is beautiful. The main problem we encountered is the difficulty to find the hotel. We arrived at night and there were no signs for "your hotel and spa'' .Actually everybody knows it with its previous name "thermas piedade" and so is written in the signs!!!Another thing is that the first impression of the hotel is not good.Thought inside is rennovated ,the outside of the building needs rennovation too.We wanted to use this hotel as a base to see the central part of portugal but it was proven away from destinations and with no life near it.But if someone wants to relax for a weekend it's an excellent choice.
The hotel is very modern and well decorated. The people are really kind. The room is very comfortable but msot importantly : the spas are wonderfull. Not the largest I've seen but everything you need is in it. The provide the bathrobe. The food is really not good. We ahve had a dinner and a breakfast there and it was really not good. The restaurant looks really awesome but what you get in your dish is really not. The sleeping room was a bit tiny also but it was not an issue
free pool and gym. Recently upgraded, and is at the top end of 3 star hotels no internet access. Very small rooms. Breakfast was basic for standards found in other hotels while in Portugal.
The staff was very kind and helped us to solve some problems we had It was really very difficoult to reach the hotel. No signals, impossible roads. The bathroom had a lot of problems: no hot water, water on the floor because of holes in the tubes ...We tryied also to eat in the restaurant ... The manager offered us the dinner to apologise. No comment
Friendliness/helpfulness of the staff Rooms were badly in need of updating. Toilets seats were very poor in particular. Corridors very gloomy
The amazing spa (two internal spa pools, rain walk, sauna and more treatment rooms than you can shake a stick at), the wonderful staff and the lovely outside pool. The beds were small and uncomfy, no satellite tv in rooms, no internet.
The feeling of being away in the country but also quite close to the town and the beaches of Nazare a litttle impersonal
Very nice hotel with good breakfast and relaxing pool. We didn't use the spa. The staff was helpful and nice.
The hotel surroundings are very beautiful and the rooms were very comfortable. It would be nice to have a computer with internet access for the guests and we found the heating, although it was good, it was a little dry.
Stunning concept. Fantastic interior design. Very nice staff. Great golf course. The site is not ready for guests. Restaurant is a canteen. Construction of all the main parts is ongoing. Noise and dirt all over. We decided to move elsewhere, because the atmosphere felt like a mix of Westworld meets teenage horror movie.
Finest contemporary architectural style, Superior and exceptionally equiped. (1) I convinced a friend to also make a reservation and the next day he got a better rate (2) Bicycle Rental was publicized in the web site but not availabel. (3) Gardens are not ready yet and therefore you have no privacy.
The accomodation was first class. Luxury townhouse for the price of a standard hotel room. Being a new resort, facilities are currently very limited.
The kitchen facilitys were excellent, the bathroom was super, My wife especially liked the beds comfort. The entertainment facilitys were very good, especially the TV. The resteraunt was first class.
location, free parking, breakfast medieval theme carried too far
Hotel ideally situated for exploring the Silver Coast.
It's a great hotel. Great medieval decoration. Nice and helpful staff. Perfect location! No.
This is a beautiful little hotel, very cosy rooms with a quirky medieval theme. The staff are very helpful and friendly and its in a perfect location only a few meters outside of the castle walls. The pool is lovely to relax by after sightseeing. All in all a lovely hotel and a lovely town to spend a couple of nights in.
Location was excellent and the choice for breakfast was superb. Also availability of garage for car.
Good location, staff helpful, "knight design" silly
Enjoyable visit, hotel was somewhat over the top regarding the historical theme however very comfortable, ideal for visiting Obidos and staff were very helpful. They really need more signs on the the road directing you to the hotel
Good location, excellent breakfast, helpful staff.
Being in the center of Obidos
Excellent Continental Breakfast. No English one though...
The friendliness of the staff, the beauty of the hotel and view. I especially liked the amenities available, including the pool table, the computer available to guests for internet use free, and the pool. The property is more beautiful than the pictures on the internet.
Comfortable room, friendly English-speaking staff, adequate parking. Nice breakfast. Entrance difficult to find. Own transport needed.
Location and Hotel ambiance and facilities.
excellent place to relax from city's noise and dust. Swimmingpool, garden.
good location, nice room and pool, very friendly staff
quiet, friendly, excellent location for Obidos visit
Very comfortable and the staff very helpful. I'd have no hesitation in going back again (and may possibly be for 3 days in July). I'd also have no hesitation recommending it to family members or friends. The staff were great- very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended. Very narrow gates on the way in? If you have a big car it can be difficult manoevuring. Very little I didn't like about the hotel- it was quite delightful staying there.
Quiet, clean, spacious, modern facilities with traditional country decor, very close to the charming medieval village of Obidos.
Very good, clean, beautiful, well located.
The staff were wonderful, friendly & informative. Free internet access was great!
Location is perfect, but in such a small town, any place would be well located.. Great breakfast, with huge portion of scrambled eggs.. It's a pity though they refused to make fried eggs for me, even though they prepared fresh eggs for every person separately. Just scrambled eggs available apparently :) It was difficult to breathe, especially when you just got in. It is an old place, and the air circulation is definitely not the best. It was the first place ever that I had problems breathing. Also, the whole hotel smells like varnish, due to something they use to clean the floors - whenever I smell such strong smell, I always think the staff of the hotel want to hide something. One more thing, the hotel was built to be a convent, but it never actually became one. I wanted to stay there because I've never slept in a convent, so I was a bit disappointed to hear the real story of this place. Oh, and I am incredibly suprised it is a 4-star hotel.
It was close to Obidos, very clean and staff was friendly. Credit card machine was not working and had to pay in cash
This is a very special place. It is an old house well decorated in an old fashion but very nice and with avery nice ambient and relation with the personal. No, no comi alli por lo que no puedo decir nada de la comida....
Conveniently located for Obidos and surrounding area
Very beautiful and classic hotel. Friendly staff. There is no heater in our room. It could be very cold at night.
Too many insects, flies and mosquitos.
Beautiful rooms, good location, pleasant helpful staff. No broadband connection
Large rooms. Wonderful history. Ideal location for seeing the castle and walled city. A little difficult to find at first but that added to the fun.
Overl style of the hotel was very good and the room felt rustic and beds very comfortable. Only down side was the smell of drains that wafted up through the bathroom over night but did confine itself to the bathroom. Breakfast very good value and the waiter (who speaks 7 lanuages and has worked over Europe for 17 yrs) was very good and friendly. Smell of drains in the bathroom on the odd occasion.
Lovely facility in a great location!
Beautiful hotel. Decoration and staff friendliness are best in class. Restaurant is very good though a bit expensive. Parking is not very convenient and bed mattress should be changed as soon as possible. Apparently we were not the first ones to complain about the mattress which probably dates from the past century!
the location within the walls of an historic town; the friendly, competent staff, the attractive room and grounds no
Staff excellent. Pricey, but if you don't want butter wrapped in silver foil or marmalade in plastic pots with rip-off lids - it's worth it. Recommend breakfast on your balcony - bliss. Warning!! Camels/needles - cars/Obidos.
hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. rooms were clean, well kept, and beautifully decorated. we stayed in December. although the rooms have airconditioner, it was a bit chilly at night.... maybe because of its historic building and its stone floor. I would definitely recommend you to stay in Obidos in warmer season.
The friendly staff, their flexibility, the great service: good kitchen and an excellent breakfast The difficulty to reach the hotel by car. It should be better explained that there are huge parking limitations
The hotel staff were all very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was excellent. The situation of the hotel made parking difficult - we were not aware how narrow the streets were!
The staff was incredible-so helpful to us with parking, facility orientation, directions, area attractions, etc. The atmosphere was beyond gorgeous! It was all quaint & luxurious at the same time. Only the lack of channel availability on the TV. Not an issue really.
lovely setting and comfortable room, good breakfast. location was not exactly convenient and bedding was a little too small for the bed
The breakfast is excellent. The decorations are typical of Portuguese style. The roms are spacious. There is no tissue and no hair dryer in the room. The bed is too soft.
The staff was lovely and very helpful regarding good places to eat and what was around the area I wish there was a t.v. in the room
This is a perfect hotel to stay at in Tomar. Walking distance to monastary is easy but up. A gorgeous setting on the river. Room was exceptionaly clean but simple. Great customer service Breakfast was good but simple.
Good location and very comfortable. Nice to be in an not so busy area. We had problems with the link that you gave to the hotel and ended up 30 km out of our way which lost us over an hour to eventually check in.
Friendly helpful staff. Accommodation is ideally suited For those people that would enjoy old mannor houses and character type accommodation. The breakfast was fantastic. Internet wi-fi was very slow at night.
We enjoyed the location and the surrounding countryside and the decor of the individual rooms. The breakfast was excellent.
I find it unacceptable that when we book an apartment on a saturday, check in 16.00 hours, that they literally" throw " us out at 10.00 hours next day, menacing us in a letter that if we do not leave the hotel at 10.00 we will have to pay 100 € / hour for every hour we are late. I have NEVER , nowhere in the world experienced such thing....
well maintained property. spacious.quiet, well equiped for a family , washer/dryer/dishwasher. stayed in appartment. slight smell of mildew even when dehumidifier was on all the time.No access to morning sun on balcony( or anywhere else in our appartment) and too chilly in shade ( early july). Swimming pool cold.
The excellent location and the good apartments. the kitchen of the apartments could have some little things that would improve the stay
the pool and staff friendliness no
The apartments were large and clean. Lost our hot water and heat but maintenance was very prompt and resolved the issue quickly. Great place for families that love the beach.
Good clean appartment hotel, clean , well equiped, close to the ocean and golf area
Large apartment, beautiful beach. Not enough retaurants or shops in Praia D'El Rey
very quite area. 20 min far from next hotel or shopping area.need always a car,not comfortable anough.
the size of the apartments were large and clean too far away from anything else... 15 min was more like 30 min!
The view of the monastry was great.
Perfectly servicable and clean and tidy - nice room, fabulous view from the balcony!
The hotel is placed in front of the monastery of Alcobaca, having the best position for visiting the town and its monuments. No
Our room had a wonderful view of the monastery. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast included the famous Portuguese pasteis.
We had a room with a balcony - really great view to the monastery (the main sight in Alcobaca). Especially at night the view is great. Excellent was as well that teh main sight was really opposite of the hotel, so you could be the first in the morning visiting. You can park in the garage for free. Breakfast is acceptable, but not great. Hotel has quite old furniture and looks like for several years no renovation (only repairs) were done.
Perfect location To avoid room 323 as A/C machine is hanging on the outside of the wall and give a lot of noise and vibration in the room. Did not want to change room as we arrived at 1am in the room and it was only for 1 night but it was very uncomfortable.
The hotel also had a locked car park, which is a great help in Portugal. The breakfast was really great.
very central location; availability of parking; helpful staff; very basic accommodation; mattress/pillows not comfortable; bar fridge not working;
The location was excellent, right next to the monastery and with easy access to good restaurants. The rooms do need a little refurbishment. The pillows are lumpy, and need replacing.
