Hotel Da Baixa - Lisbon - Building
1
9.5 Excellent (2,457 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel da Baixa in Lisbon (Lisbon Old Town), you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Santa Justa Elevator and Rossio Square. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Front desk staff OUTSTANDING. Thank you!
Cons: Breakfast aesthetic and preparation could be improved. Coffee, disappointing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Located in a central tourist area so easy to walk to more interesting areas. Very nice staff, and great shower with two shower heads and multiple spray settings.
Cons: The rooms are VERY small and the loveseat placed horizontally at the foot of the bed, makes the space cramped and hard to move around, especially with two suitcases. Despite the claim on its website, rooms have no city views so the descriptions and price add-on for view rooms are very misleading. Most rooms have view of the building next door or across from it. Hotel is NOT elevated, so it cannot have city views anywhere.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hotel! One of the nicest I’ve stayed at. Super clean, great location, beautiful room. I think this could be a 5 star hotel. The breakfast was fantastic, mimosas, cappuccinos, meats, smoked salmon, fruit, yogurt, eggs and really anything you could want. We also had dinner at the hotel one evening and everything was delicious.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We stayed 7 nights at the Hotel da Baixa in the old section of downtown Lisbon. Hotel da Baixa has several big location benefits: near shops, numerous restaurants, public transportation and walking convenience to museums and the Castelo S. Jorge, a must see attraction! This is a newer 4 star hotel, with good value price. Hotel da Baixa has small rooms but super staff, and nice breakfast. My wife would have preferred the pricey Ritz but I vote for the Hotel da Baixa, because the Ritz is not so conveniently centered in Lisbon. Vacationing in Portugal is inexpensive!
Cons: More space In rooms
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Baixa is in downtown district but great location to all the transport and sights. The room was very spacious and clean. The staff were fantastic very friendly and helpful. The hotel has only been open for 15 months and I would recommend staying here.
Cons: Would have liked an iron in the room.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceeded every expectation ,....lovely !
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Incredible service, facilities very well and clean.
Cons: Even the hotel is a bit old, everything works perfectly and clean
8.0 Excellent
Pros: View was excellent Restaurant was very good Staff were very helpful , especially concierge Room was quiet
Cons: Buffet : anything outside of the buffet takes a long time and is not consistent. Bathroom "his and hers" sinks were much too confined - set between a pillar and the wall. TV (pop up) was too small and inconvenient Housekeeping was inconsistent : half the time no face towels, coffee & milk not necessarily replaced Being told they would not give an iron to the room due to Fire Safety was absurd.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff

7.1 Good
Pros: The bed is comfortable as well as the pillow choice available. The breakfast is amazing!!! One of the best breakfast ever!
Cons: This is the 2nd time I stay in Myriad and this time the room is too small compared with the one I stayed first time, it is a pretty normal room compared to the first one. So if you want to stay in the hotel don’t choose the deluxe rooms, choose the premium rooms. The treatment you receive is also really different, I didn’t receive any welcome letter or something to welcome me on the room. On the first time I received... The difference you have to pay totally worth the money!
7.1 Good
Pros: Breakfast, view, location
Cons: Shower flooded the floor when as it couldnt drain quickly enough. Bed was hard not enough space in room Poor area for woman to use for dressing. Housekeeping did not make up our room when we had been out for day Housekeeping collected towels when floor leaked but did not replace them Room service failed to bring up drinks and salt and pepper with meal. They turned up 30 minutes later after meal had finished. Room service food on one meal was only luke warm. Shower cannot be turned on without getting blasted on the head with cold water as you need to be under the output to reach the controls. Sink cannot be filled with water for shaving.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast options, selection and quality of food was great. The ambient and rooms were quiet.
Cons: The first floor, foyer, had few scattered chairs and no proper table for a business 1on1 meeting.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing views over the River Tejo. Staff very nice and helpful. Excellent breakfast. Fifty seconds restaurant at the top of the hotel with a 360 view is a wonderful experience.
Cons: The swimmingpool and spa on the 21st floor are really good with gorgeous views, but you have to be very careful with the floor. It’s not appropiate to walk on it when it is wet. Really slippery.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and style of the hotel. Hotel was so sleek and contemporary in design but, the staff was warm and very accommodating. Wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed the spa as well.
Cons: Menu items were limited. I think they could have a few more choices.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Always clean, modern, staff are very friendly and helpful. Dining area is perfectly situated to provide wonderful views of the water. The property is close to everything you need (restaurants, shops etc).

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Service was fabulous. As foreigners we asked many questions and the front desk people helped us every time with enthusiasm. The location was the absolute best for a tourist. Loved the breakfast. The room was very nice.
Cons: The only problem we had was that the taxi driver from the airport didn’t exactly know where the hotel was located, dropped us off a couple of blocks away and pointed us in the wrong direction.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, especially for a first visit to Lisbon Hotel staff recommended good restaurants
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very friendly and the service is excellent! The room was super clean, nice and had everything we needed! The complimentary mini bar, the porto wine on the arrival and the wine the last day were very nice thoughts. The location is also excellent and it felt safe. Both breakfast and dinner were very good!
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The Breakfast was Good.
Cons: They day that we arrived the taxi driver dropped us of under a rain storm, about 2 blocks away he claimed that he could not go thru the street. The street in front of the hotel is full of small restaurants and you have to walk thru them to explore the city. There is men in front of each of the restaurants that come up to you with the menu to try to get you in to there restaurant. They do this every time they see you even if you have walked by them a few time. We found this extremely annoying, do to the fact that we where there to explore the city and where continuously in and out of the hotel.

Lisboa Pessoa Hotel - Lisbon - Bedroom
6
9.2 Excellent (3,054 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Lisboa Pessoa Hotel, you'll be centrally located in Lisbon, just a 4-minute walk from Rossio Square and 5 minutes by foot from Santa Justa Elevator. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The most welcoming staff, great location, comfortable rooms, decent gym (spa looked nice although I didn't try it). Delicious breakfast at the top floor with great panoramic view of Lisbon. Highly recommended!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, clean and comfortable rooms. Lovely staff, fab spa and good breakfast.
Cons: Cocktails weren’t great.
6.2 Good
Pros: Location was excellent
Cons: ...but couldn't get over the floors- just slabs of cold, scratched up concrete- no carpet/rug/wood- felt like was in a hospital- but at least hospitals use linoleum. Walls were also just plain white, so felt even more stark. Staff also not super helpful, they seemed bothered by any guest asking them questions
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Reception staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our room was very clean with great facilities. Location was excellent
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location of the property is convenient, staff members were kind and helpful, the hotel is clean.
Cons: It is definitely overpriced. Rooms are too small, bathroom is literally inside the room and the whole time there is a sewer smell. Breakfast is tragic with no healthy options and for the amount they charge, they should at least provide an espresso machine. Oh and even though it says soundproof rooms, you can hear precisely what is going on in the room next door. Spa is another topic for discussion, quite small and can fit up to 8-10 people.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Daily room cleaning
Cons: Expensive
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The quality of the breakfast buffet was spot on and covered all requirements, which of course meant that I ate far too much - however given the topography of Lisbon this turned out to be a bonus ! The 'hardware' of the hotel was clean, comfortable and functional and the roof top bar a real bonus with great roof top views of the city. But in my view staff are the key and I have only praise for your team.
Cons: In an ideal world a larger entrance lobby would have created a better ambience - but when we return to Lisbon we will be returning to The Pessoa Hotel.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: beautiful spacious rooms, lovely decoration. And amazing view from terrace
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great spot
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice comfortable beds, helpful and friendly staff, great mixologist at the bar.
Cons: Breakfast area could use more space.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location. Rooftop bar and sushi restaurant were great. Gym equipment was excellent.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was lovely and the concierge,Rachel, was wonderful She helped us put together a private tour with a driver, Abel. He showed us Sintra as well as many important sites in Lisbon. She also helped us with all of our questions and seemed really interesed in us. The hotel itself is quite lovely and the view from the 9th floor is amazing Our price, thanks you, was wonderful.
Cons: Although I checked in on line a day before arrival, our room was not ready. When they gave us a key, someone was in the room. Finally when we finally got in the room, it was not the twin beds I had requested. The last full day we were there, we came back to find a key in the electric switch. This hotel is very careless about keys. Prices for breakfast in the hotel were ridiculous.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I stayed here on the last day of our honeymoon and it was lovely. The room we stayed in was on the smaller side but by no means cramped and very clean, done in a beautiful light blue, light green, and white palette. The lobby is spacious with lovely green tile. The staff was very friendly and helped suggest an affordable local restaurant nearby, which was delicious. We didn't have a chance to go in the pool, but the staff let us in to look at it after it had closed, which was very nice. It looked very lovely as well. We didn't have a lot of money to spend and found a great deal and were treated very well by the staff.
Cons: The view on our room (one of the cheapest ones) did not have a good view, but I guess that is to be expected (it looked out over some flat rooftops with astroturf). One small thing, when we went out during the day my husband was dressed in a t-shirt and jeans and one the doormen sort of implied that he was looking for the wrong building, but it wasn't overtly rude, he just tried to stop him and ask if he could help direct him before he went in the door.
6.2 Good
Cons: When we (group of six people) book with paid in full and check in to hotel, we DID NOT know that we have to pay the taxes 2 euros per day and the person help to check in did not mention that either. After we signed our name on the card which we DID NOT see the taxes 2 euros per day on the card, but when we check out someone put that taxes 2 euros per day on the card afterward. THAT IS NOT RIGHT. IT IS THE MATTER OF PRINCIPLE. They can put any amount on the card after we signed. We REFUSED to pay the taxes. I hope that the hotel do not charge us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel provides perfect service and has the most friendly and competent staff. Have stayed in quite a few 5 star hotels in the past but this one tops them all! Congratulations to all the staff and management to provide for a perfect stay.
7.9 Good
Cons: Could have done without the 30 Euro hotel mark up on a half day Tuk Tuk, everywhere else 150 - Tivoli 180. Good coffee machine in room, no milk no sugar - we don't all drink black coffee.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Cruise ship tour guests
5.7 Okay
Pros: Clean and location
Cons: Staff is ok, but the so called lady executive mgr was not friendly and not try to solve problems. She did not try to make a six dollar error on a 3 nite stay. She said that mistake had to make by their executive DIRECTOR . That six dollar had to charge when we check out( they did not tell us when we checked in. And our was a PREPAID stay). The washing sink basin was made of kind of soft pastic( in a 4, 5 star hotel ??).
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The super comfy bed and the fact that they had a europcar rental office next door.
Cons: The staff were horrible. Check in took longer than needed. The staff interrupted us to finish their conversations with one another. Housekeeping came for turndown at 4:00?? Concierge was very standoffish.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great rooms, design, staff and location all fab
Cons: Nothing, maybe the room was a little dark due to proximity of the building opposite but that’s just what comes from a central location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, luxurious lobby, rooms have upscale and homy feel at the same time. Breakfast is excellent. Very good restaurants in the area.
Cons: I had to talk twice with the reception and once in the restaurant to get our free breakfast (included in the room price for Genius members)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location and overall vibe. Roof terrace is a fantastic place for a drink and the staff were a delight.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great apartment (though not cheap!) with very comfortable beds. Good facilities in the apartment (eg 3 TVs, fridge, nespresso machine etc) Good location - near to many restaurants etc but very quiet at night so we slept really well Reasonable price for breakfast. Good restaurant. Helpful staff
Cons: I would definitely go back to the Lumiares so there is nothing ‘negative’ as such. However if I had to be really picky the size of the balcony for an apartment sleeping 6 was disappointing and not what the website pictures suggested. We paid a significant upgrade to get the balcony and ours only had room for one chair on it which meant we couldn’t sit outside together. Also we would have loved to have had a bath in the apartment.

Pros: The location was great and the bed was comfortable. Front desk staff was kind! Room was large and modern. We did not eat breakfast, but did look at it - they had a nice looking spread. The hotel was quiet.
Cons: The gym could use TLC and better housekeeping (stationary bike was wobbly, freeweight set incomplete, no clean towels or cleaning wipes). The housekeeping for the room was ok - missed leaving coffee two days in a row...Small things, but when considering the price of the room, these are a factor.

Pros: Every one of the staff were very professional, friendly, and helpful.
Cons: The air conditioning did not cool the room properly. Reported this and they did respond quickly and sent someone to fix. Still too warm though and we could not leave the terrace door open for cool air due to construction next door.

Pros: This is a welcoming and comfortable hotel in a lovely area of Lisbon. Staff went above and beyond - it was my husband's birthday during our stay and they left us a complimentary bottle of prosecco in our room as a special surprise! Highly recommended!
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent and friendly staff. Nice sized indoor pool. Healthy but doable walk to scenic areas and metro.
Cons: Has the "modern" room set up with a glass door bathroom, so the other person is disturbed by the light shining through. Beware that you will be charged 2.5 euros for each coffee pod beyond the two offered! Gym is small but workable.

Cons: One staff was rude in the restaurant

Pros: Beautiful palace built by a 19th Century cocoa importer made a Count by the King. Magnificent building, professional and friendly staff, excellent breakfast included, comfortable rooms and good (not great) fitness center, spa and pool.
Cons: Not as many drawers for clothes as would be ideal; no facecloths in bathroom (only towels), location is 1+ mile away from the main activities so cabs are required.

Pros: Great location, staff and general facilities (aside from gym and spa) Was my 2nd stay
Cons: The sauna and steam room were closed / not working for much of the stay. The gym was much smaller than expected and had only 3 or 4 pieces of equipment
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, the room, breakfast was rich
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Fresh squeezed orange juice! The breakfast was great and the room really clean and quiet.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The room was large and quiet with good facilities. Convenient hotel location within walking distance of centre
Cons: A terrible drains smell at night and I had to sleep with the window open on the last night. Also I was presented with an unexpected additional tax charge on my departure, whereas I had not been previously advised of this. In fact it was not noted on my invoice that was presented to me on my arrival. In addition I had made a point of checking with the receptionist on my arrival that I would not have any thing else to pay for my room and the receptionist confirmed that this was the case. The receptionist on my departure was not at all helpful and it was only fortunate that I had some cash left over to pay the additional amount.
