Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful with tourist information. They moved a large television to court area so all guests could be outside to watch the World Soccer game.
The breakfast buffet was great and the room and bathroom well equiped and looked after. The location, although great for seeing the sights, is not great if you plan on sleeping as if your room is on the street you can hear everyone coming and going from the bars until 6 in the morning.
the location was really good, right in the heart of the city. the breakfast was good value also and the staff very very kind and friendly the room was very hot and the air con didnt work for me. it was a dark room on the top floor also which only had a small window near the ceiling
Very central to historic city centre. Larger than normal room with antique furniture to suit the style of the hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast.
The location in the center of the historical part of Leon made it an ideal place to visit this city. The room was very nice.
Charming boutique hotel. Unfortunately the restaurant, part of the hotel, was closed during the period of my stay but there are plenty of eateries in Leon. The location is right in the middle of the old town, however, that also means putting up with noise in the middle of the night and wee hours of the morning from bar hoppers. There are english channels on the TV and the staff speak english.
warm welcome, pleasant staff and good location. Breakfast was good
Siutation and extreme cleaness and good maintenance Standard times for breakfast start too late altough personnel was extremely helpfull to find solutions
The atmosphere of an old hotel. The airconditioning did not function well enough. The room was about 26 C during the night. It was noisy because it is in the heart of the town with bars etc.
The walls are very thin and one can hear people next door using the bathroom at all hours of the night and moving along the corridors!
1. Very near bus stop and shops 2. Friendly multilingual and helpful staff 3. Very clean large comfortable rooms
Very convenient for visiting Leon city. Breakfast was adequate. Staff were very helpful. No bar or restaurant facilities and wifi was chargeable.
Very central..suited purpose of visit.
Very impresive location, with big comfortable rooms.
Breakfast was nice smell of cigarettes in the room
Beautiful historic building All was fine
The hotel is in a spectacular building and OK for sightseeing, although a ten to fifteen minute walk to the cathedral etc. Like several paradors I have stayed in, this one needs updating inside. The bedroom was large but a bit drab, with dated electrics and very poor internet service.
El edificio donde esta el hotel es precioso y esta muy cerca del centro de Leon. The view from my room.
The amazing building it was located in. Our room was not in the old building and therefore did not have the same atmosphere. The hotel was very large and therefore a little impersonal.
The fact that the hotel is based on the original San Marcus monastey of León. The hotel as most modern facilities in an olsfashioned way. The Paradors has a special atmosphere, which you don't find in other Hotels.
Free parking for guests without any problem, we got the room in original old building without any additional charge. The restaurant has disappointed us.
Outstanding historic building
Beautiful building, good location and friendly staff.
The location of the hotel was excellent for seeing the city and the building is quite special The restaurant staff were very unfriendly. We had one lunch in the restaurant which was very enjoyable despite the staff. However, we also had one dinner which was not good at all and despite the fact that I sent back a starter and main course barely touched no-one asked if I had a problem. We did not get even one smile from a waiter thoughout the whole meal. The Parador restaurants are fairly expensive and this was terrible value for money. We would certainly think twice before eating in this hotel again. Would probably only revisit due to location but as our 2 nights proved very expensive in total so would look at other hotels first.
Friendliness and help of the staff and cleanness of the room and bath
I appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I also thought we received a decent price. I would prefer not to have to pay for cooking utensils.
Space, confort The services is targetted on long stay, with limited services (reception unmanned when arriving)
Staff was friendly and helpful. Commodities and services were never beyond the essentials, but adequate nonetheless. External looks of the building are downright ugly, from the outside it resembles more a hospital or daycare center.
The room was nice, but poorly built. For example, the sink was loose, the tap in the kitchen was not attached to the sink, the lights were a bit unrealiable, flickering on and off. Also, the address that we were given for the hotel in the email was wrong, so that we had to call the hotel to adjust our GPS to be able to find the hotel. The ladies behind the desk in the lobby were good. The bread at breakfast was stale and the juice dispenser did not work.
Very modern room, very clean room, the staff was excellent, and the hotel is well located. Thank
A modern hotel with very comfortable spacious rooms Hard to find, you have to know that it is near the new university
Free parking and spacious rooms
very clean, well maintained and excellent value for money
Great value for the money and very nice staff.
Menos, para playa.VAlle para todo. Pero su situación y precio.
The spacious room and bathroom. The location. Breakfast a bit poor for a 3 star.
Central location, very helpful staff - sorted a problem for us on the telephone. Unique art work. No evening meal avaialble because of a bank holiday.
Excellent location. Reception was multilingual which helped. Free internet. Smoking permitted in all areas.
Very central. Very comfortable.
The room was ok although it was warm (no air conditioning yet) and a little noisy when the windows were open to the street. The artwork at the hotel is really interesting although a bit macabre at times... It was nice that there was internet. the room was too warm and it was a goodly walk to the historic district
Good walking distance to the center, easy to find parking lots (free until 10am), free internet. Through the thin room door there is a lot of noise from the corridor.
English speaking receptionist; close to the city center Room needs updating
I liked most things. I particularly liked the restaurant. The situation is very good, city centre quite close.
Everything was very adequate
non-availability of parking place
Excellent location. Comfortable. Silent. Great breakfast. The access is complicated and not sufficiently explaines.
Location - location - location. The hotel is right in the center of the old town, everything is within walking distance. Looking through the window, one feels like stepping back in time, to 16th or 17th century. Yet, inside the hotel is clearly the 21st century. Really nice.
The location of the hotel in the edge of the old city giving access to the very centre of the life of the city
Very comfortable and spacious, great location, looking over Plaza Mayor itself. Nice design and decor. Staff were helpful. Good restaurant, if a little pricey for simple meals. Free internet use (for 15 minutes). The air conditioning in our room when running on max was only just comfortable, and it wasnt very hot outside. Hopefully that is not a common problem and could have been corrected. The business centre is just one internet terminal and couldnt print, although the staff were happy to print at reception if you emailed them the relevant document or page from the internet.
Very good location, quiet Bit disappointed with not having a view
Good location on Plaza Mayor, just a couple of minutes' walk from the cathedral and loads of restaurants and bars More of a business style hotel. Breakfast chocie limited and the worst coffee I had in Spain! Could be noisy if you like to sleep with the window open, and since the air con is of limited use the room can get hot at night.
Location, room furniture and staff.
Excellent location near to main area of city. Hotel clean, comfortable, and staff friendly. Not a criticism, but a suggestion. The car park is directly under the hotel, but accessed from a small street at the rear and very tricky to find. A better explanation and directions would have been helpful.
poor restaurant facilities
Room was facing main street, noisy throughout evening.
The staff was accommodating when we felt that there wasn't room for an extra bed for our son in our room. They told us that all the rooms are doubles, but they found one that was shaped differently so that the bed fit better. Though the bathroom looked nice, the walls were very thin, and the glass wall "shower curtain" did not prevent water from leaking all over the floor. The hotel was not within walking distance to the old part of town.
Location was good; Arrangements were good
The cleanliness and the modern facilities Wifi
In a reasonable location overlooking a sports park and children's playpark. Opposite El Corte Ingles. Restaurant menu/a la carte choices were fairly limited.
the location, the room, the garage
Excellent location, walking distance of shops and old town for good choice of restaurants. Only two very small lifts can lead to long wait.
Good Location for Corte Ingles ,10 minutes to historical area Restaurant fully booked so unable to have dinner there.. Unfortunatelt not good choice of other restaurants nearby.
The hotel is centally located and in a busy part of Leon. It can be a little far to walk to the central core (cathedral, etc) but manageable. The breakfasts were ample and satisfying and the room very comfortable. No complaints or suggestions at all.
Hotel as near as possible to the little ally ways etc, parking garage couldn't fit our Land Rovers with roof tents so we had to park on the street, which there was plenty of right outside / round the corner. We were lucky that we arrived on a Sunday when you didn't have to pay parking until Monday morning but any other time might have been a problem as it was 2 hours stay and no return within 2 hours. Other than that the hotel was very good, clean room, good bathroom - no complaints. A short walk away there was the cathedral and back ally's with lots of cafes and tapas bars - lush.
The air conditioning did not work on the second day of staying
Location very close to El Corte Ingles which makes it a good place for shopping. Far frmo the city center and rooms not at the Silken usual level (dark and not so new)
It was truly pleasant. I can only have good things to say. Very comfortable, very clean, modern design, huge rooms, everything was fantastic. I never though that a 3-star hotel could offer such good conditions. Much better than the majority of the 4-star hotel I've been!... All this for less than 50€/night! Could not ask more! The only "but" was not having WiFi in the rooms (you would need to go to a specif area in the hotel to have it available), other than this, perfect!
Confort Direction is not indicated. The main entrance is from the hospital it was very difficult to get there.
The address of the hotel was wrong and had to look for it for an hour. It should inform visitors that it is located within the area of the hospital.
Theb friendliness of staff; the relABLE tourist information, the modern design of the hotel, the internet service free of charge THE poor identification of the hotel, as the name can not be seen from the main road and the entrance is not obvious ,as cars have ton go through the hospital entrance .on the car psrk the entrance to the lift that leads to the reception is signed: no way out!
The facilities were great and very comfortable for the price. The hotel staff was very attentive to all our needs. The location was great with parking. The arquitecture was amazing and beautiful inviting you to stay.
Wonderful beds, Yulia most friendly and helpful. I would have liked to be able to make some coffee/tea in the room, especially since we arrived late and left early.
Good value and very clean (it's a new construction). I can find anything anywhere but this hotel beat me, it's in the middle of nowhere ! It is also a strange feeling to sleep in a hospital complex.
The very good location near castle, nice room. The problem is to find right way to the hotel(our GPS was not good with it). My advice: to ask hotel to send you map with directions and explanation
Location is superb - very near the Cathedral, and San Isidoro is only a short distance away. Everything in the historic city centre (including many good bars and restaurants) is within easy reach, but the area immediately around the hotel is just off the main routes and is surprisingly quiet. Rooms are small but well-planned, and are furnished in a modern idiom. The very reasonable prices represent good value for money. Continental breakfast in the bar at 3 euros each is pretty good. Nothing we disliked.
A good place to stay, near the cathedral. Our floor (4th, I think) had windows on the roof - affording us views of Leon Cathedral. Very romantic. Can't drive up to the door with the luggage .... which was a bit of a drag. I think this needs to be stressed in the booking confirmation (block letters/italics).
Great for a city break. I had a comfortable attic room with a view of the cathedral and button by the bed which you can press to open and close the window/blind. I also made use of the spa which was a real bonus after a strenuous day and worth the $10, Hotel very well located in the centre of Leon with several eating options nearby. The breakfast was as good as any served in a cafeteria in Spain, and excellent value at $3; I had freshly squeezed orange juice, cafe con leche and toasted croissant (croissant plancha) with marmalade. What more could you possibly want?
stylish, clean rooms, friendly staff, perfectly located, best value for money; my favourite in the area!
Clean, safe, centrally located.
We were warmly welcomed by the Reception Manager Mr German and nothing was too much for him. He changed the room to one on a higher floor immediately and was most helpful in giving us information on the local sights and amenities. The hotel is situated most conveniently for Public transport and major bus stations and all the important sights and tourist offices. It is actually on the St Jacques Compostela route and we have already recommended the hotel to a few we met on the way. The Bar attached to the hotel, I am not sure if it belongs to the hotel did a poor job of the breakfast. The girl at the bar was unfriendly the the toast was an over roasted eighth of a fench bread.
Nice clean, quiet hotel in a busy, noisy city. Young staff (Beatriz) is friendly and very helpful. Parking is secure underground, but numbered a little confusing. Just a 3-4 block walk to the old city.
Convenient central location, modern and stylish decor. Friendly staff who helped us plan our limited time in Leon. Excellent buffet breakfast. Secure parking a boon in a city centre. Nothing at all to criticise about the hotel.
Room was lovely and staff were very helpful, great value too.
Staff were incredible. Very attentive during check-in and helpful during the night when I need a pain killer. Room is great. Breakfast enough although the breakfast room seems out o place.Near enough to the historic centre. It was an adequate stay. Nothing exciting. Best really was the friendly and helpful staff.
reception staff were very helpful; location was ok to visit old city; no breakfast but coffee shop across the road was friendly and coffe & pastry were excellent.
On arrival the Receptionist was very helpful. Hotel's own parking was good. Room was standard city business-type. About 10 minutes walk from centre which was no problem as it was close enough to walk at night yet hotel was quiet. Room was quite small (with limited storage) for two people with holiday luggage but we were only staying two nights.
friendly and helpful staff
the hotel itself was nice, and good location, staff fabulous, but not a great lot of facilities for a 4star hotel. did not like the fact that there was no cafe or restaurant
Overall good 2 night stay. Everything as advertised. Garage was under hotel, right at Cortes Englise. Comfortable beds and quiet. No problems.
Very high value hotel!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. This is an excellent hotel, one of my favourite that I stayed in in Spain. The bed's are new but are very, very firm which is uncomfortable when you are a light person.
The reception staff were excellent and helped me to book a room in a different hotle for the next stop on our travels
It was really all ok.
Close, but not too close. Friendly staff. Very clean room with comfortable bed.
Modern hotel, very good quality, located in a quiet area. Some bars at walking distance, but this is not the city center.
the room and facilities were extremely good standard and excellent value for money, and location was good the breakfast was good but expensive - more than it cost to eat in the snack cafe the previous evening
At the special rate paid, this wasan excellent deal
It had gym and good breakfast The wireless internet wasn't working on the 4th floor were I was staying
The room was excellent, with a luxurious bath room, and an excellent buy at 63 Euro. The lower parking level is spacious. During air conditioning weather I would have regretted having a room on the back side of the hotel, because of the large and potentially noisy a/c compressors behind the hotel; I like to have my windows open.
The staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfeast was excellent. We found free parking in front of the hotel.
There was really nothing to complain about.
a 15-minute walk to the city centre; (paid) parking in the hotel (they have a garage); comfortable beds; clean bathroom; quiet they turn off the air conditioning in the morning so the room gets really hot if you're staying in.
The hotel is excellently located just across the street from the old town of Leon. The breakfast buffet is very expensive. For half the price of one you may have a continental breakfast for two in a cafeteria in the same square of the hotel. The hotel is also very noisy. All the rooms, the restaurant and the bar give to balconies placed above the reception hall. All the noise from the reception, restaurant, bar and rooms is easily propagated to the the whole hotel. Due to this architectural feature room doors should be soundproofing, which is not the case.
The staff were very friendly and its nice to be welcomed with a smile as they did. if going to Leon again i would stay at this hotel no
It was a very classy hotel on the outside but very modern in the inside. Beautiful hotel!
The room was lovely, location was great, staff good
Nothing, it was a terrible place to stay. The noise was awful - rooms opened onto a central atrium and staff seemed to be cleaning after dinner and preparing breakfast all night with only an hour or two of peace. Staff were not especially helpful, the air conditioning did not work and breakfast was a ridiculous price. Photos of the hotel are deceptive - the furnishings are quite basic, it does not deserve 4 stars.
Location, view, price and breakfast included. Terrible bed, internet by wire without a table.
its closeness to the old city found the hotel by accident, but signs on the outside are unclear
Stuff is not very friendly. The garage is for very small cars.
The decoration and furnishings are 'minimalist Rennie Macintosh (if that is not a contradiction in terms). The staff were polite and helpful. The hotel is located in the centre of Leon (and yet we were able to park outside). In the evening I asked for a local liqueur, and when they could not offer one, I made the mistake of ordering Macallan. Coffe on the other hand is reasonable.
Friendly staff; close to city centre Somewhat noisy construction; does not fully live up to the quality one would expect
The spa was fabulous, a great way to relax after a long journey and fun for older children. The spa was included in the price of the room. Spa staff and receptionist were helpful. Our room was at the front of the hotel so if noise disturbs you ask for a room at the back. We booked a triple room and were given a room with three beds but it was a tight squeeze.
The garage is a challenge and arriving for the first time you need information on bringing a car into the vicinity of the hotel which I did not have.
Staff was helpfull
It's central and comfortable Room was a bit small and the corridors are noisy
Staff were pleasant and hotel spa is great. There was alot of street noise in my room and found it difficult to sleep.
We arrived for fiestas our lovely room overlooking all the action. Food at the hotel serves many local dishes and is excellent. We would stay here again. Hotel is situated on a walking street but access can be gained to the hotel garage which is chargeable.
location, restaurant noise in hall ways is very loud.
helpfull reception staff noisy air conditioning unit
Location Closed distance to places of grait food. Extremely noisy at night at the end of the week
