I liked the reception I got, the set up of the room, the breakfast offering, and the size of the pool. The first sight of the hotel, on arrival. It gave me the obviously wrong impression of a small, run down place. I think the first impression is important and management should improve the front and reception view. Also too many keys!! Consider standardising to one key only, not a bunch.
We were checked in quickly. Beds were comfortable
The self-catering rooms were absolutely beautiful and a very good size. It is a lovely maintained B & B all around with nice gardens and probably the best part was the best breakfast I've ever tasted, with the unbelievable range of foods & juices. I certainly recommend this place if you don't mind being a short car ride away from shops & other places of interest as it is located inside a security guarded suburban area. Overall service was decent, not fabulous nor poor.
Pleasusable, friendly environment, all ameneties were easily accessible, staff a pleasure to deal with and knowledgeble on the surrounding areas and entertainment lack of reclying/ relaxing chairs at poolside
Great rooms and layout of the BXB. Relaxed feeling. Maybe the tv could be quite in the breakfast room.
The room was spacious, comfortable and clean, the staff were nice. The breakfast was good. Security was also good. Locating the address posed problems both for me and my visitors.
I like everything about Rivonia Hotel and their service is excellent, you feel homely in their rooms setting. Nothing
The staff were very friendly, profesional and most of all, very caring! I felt like I was amongst family! Also, the grounds are beautiful! The great attention to detail was highly appreciated.
The owners were polite and excellent. I have recommeded this hotel to a business partner.
the value for money, excellent personalised service by owners and great breakfast
The Manager was very helpful and we had a lovely breakfast in the morning. The television was terrible and due to the fact it was not safe to go out at night, did not suit our requirements for an overnight stay. If we were to do this again we would stay in a hotel/guest house nearer the airport. The lodge was lovely, comfortable and Ria the Manager could not be more helpful, but just did not suit our requirements and would not recommend for anybody who is just doing a stop over for one night.
Truly a "home away from home". I used to stay at the big hotels in and around Sandton City. Not anymore, from now on it's going to be The Thatchfoord Lodge. The setting is beautiful, the sound of the adjacent river is most calming, and yet, one is so close to businesses and restaurants. I can highly recommend this lovely little hotel to anybody.
A very nice resting place away from the city noise and stress. The landlady is always available to make you feel confortable. The breakfast is a must facing the outside pool....This mansion with a thach roof and the outside garden made me feel at home.
After experience of other hotels/lodges (price, comfort, breakfast, service owners) this was generally poor.
It was comfortable, quiet, and friendly. I enjoyed breakfast every mooring, cooked to order. The electronics in the room, (TV, radio, etc) could use an upgrade. There was no internet access.
Very close to the airport. Not close to anything else. Very clean and comfortable and staff very nice.
The staff was extremely friendly, breakfast was good, room was nice & cozy. Pretty far from city center (although rather close to airport), wasn't too cheap.
The Welcome. Good service from the start.
