Guest services was superior and what I expect for a hotel of its caliber. We had a problem with our room and when addressed, we were moved into a suite and also given passes for the executive lounge. Aver unexpected and pleasant surprise. We really only wanted a different room. The location is great for walking in order to enjoy a variety of dining experiences and shopping in the market. The grounds and pool were very pretty and the entrance up to the hotel was very inviting. The rooms were only average, at best. There was hair on the woodwork in the bathroom and the floor was a little dirty. The linens on the bed were also a little scratchy. Not nearly as luxury as I expected. I've stayed in less "luxurious" hotels with softer sheets. The overall decor was old and tired...definitely not grand. It would have been really nice to have coffee service available in the room. I want coffee when I wake up and not have to get dressed, go to the lobby and back up to my room.
24 hrs before checking in I received an email offering 3 alternative upgrades if available at 3 different price premiums above my booked room. I was not able to choose which upgrade I might be interested in.
Location was very convenient for our travel plans. Relatively clean for a budget motel. Very close to busy road. Must be close to hospital as loud sirens all night.
We appreciated the acceptance of pets and the middle-of-the-road price. The room was disgusting. I almost refused to use the shower. There were sketchy drug-dealer types hanging out in the parking lot until 2am. We didn't get a wink of sleep... including the dogs.
Price great, compared to area hotels. Sheetz 24/7 convenience store across street. Wendy's nearby, walking distance. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker in room. Clean room, small, but adequate. I will stay again on future visits (my daughter attends college nearby). Surrounding area not great. Checkin late night and you deal with the hotel clerk behind thick glass at a small security window, instead of entering the lobby. Coincidentall, the Wendy's dining room is closed after 10pm, but the drive-thru is open. I certainly appreciate the employee safety and security aspect in both instances, but it strongly indicates that the area is high crime. Indeed, at the nearby Sheetz, there were two Sheriff's cars; it looked as if they were dealing with a derelict. I had no issues myself, but I would hesitate staying here if I were a woman travelled alone.
Nothing Bed was far to hard to sleep on, Fridge kept me awake I had to turn it off. When the heat came on it sounded like an airplane motor. Décor was from the 1970's, Carpet was stained, furniture was full of holes, shower did not work properly, could not adjust the spray. Light switch at the door would not come on. Room on the second floor, no elevator.
