Just superb service all round. To answer Q3 below, it was price at first but now blown away by the place. Just superb Nothing at all.
Food was superb, Table service first class. Indeed a 'country house' as advertised. Most relaxing. very little.
very lovely . set in gardens. breatfast to die for. the lady of the house was keen. helpful. and we chilled out. a great haven to escape
Enjoyed the grand accomdation with excellent food and service
hospitality, warmth, breakfast it was more a guest house than a hotel.
Good value at price we paid (£80 per room per niight). Excellent breakfast and restaurant service. Evening meal very good but, as others have commented, a little bit pricey. I think many more people would eat in if menus were more competetive with other eating options in the area. Would be happy to revisit and recommend Claverton House.
Stayed one night but hope to go back sometime. Very friendly staff, nice room and an excellent dinner and breakfast
In a word - faultless
Owners were very friendly and made you feel at home N/A
The staff were very helpful and efficient and the bedrooms very comfortable and warm. Small towels, cold plates at meals and no daily papers available
Basic accommodation at an affordable price Clasified as 3 star which is misleading
The pillows were quite plump. That is it, Oh and the sausage I had for breakfast was good. Pretty much everything, threadbare carpet, damp, smelly room, way too expensive bearing in mind the hotel's facilities (none, if you discount the roof and walls). The staff were OK I suppose, but really, not in the least bit interested in the job. No shower either, exceedingly bad for the price.
good breakfast hotel undergoing major building work so expensive stay in a building site
Incredibly noisy location,be prepared for very little sleep-especially young children
The new owners are doing their utmost to provide good service, which we're confident will get even better. Fabulous Italian Restaurant on ground floor.
Rooms nice Waited 25 minutes for a table at breakfast as staff were so slow in clearing them
Large clean toilet and bedroom.good value for 3 people staying for one night on a saturday Limited facilities,no bar or restaurant.stairs only. no lifts to upper floors. the contents of the cooked breakfast would just about fill 2 slices of bread.would only stay for one night.
Exellent Breakfast Battle High Street is very noisy (Traffic) most of the time
friendly, helpful staff. Good size room, Good size, clean bathroom
Friendlinesss of staff was excellent and the food was good. No
The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Very big and clean room. Would stay there again.
The peace and tranquilaty. Size and cleanliness. And location. nothing
We liked the fact that the hotel was located actually on the golf course as this ensured peace and quiet when we needed it. The view from the room was also lovely - very green In addition we were extremely lucky with the weather so we had a truly lovely stay - and breakfast outside too! Were it to rain I could imagine not being best pleased to get wet on my way to breakfast (which is in the restaurant/club house) - though in reality it's hardly far to walk
The very friendly staff and the food
Excellent accommodation, huge room, huge bed and huge bathroom all spotlessly clean. All staff were very pleasant and friendly. Lovely breakfast. Couldn't fault anything at all really, but if pushed would have preferred a shower to a bath and the pillows were a bit hard.
Very comfortable room, nice and warm, lovely views, the cooked breakfast was fantastic being very very picky, would of liked sky tv
Luxury bedroom/en suite bathroom, security entry, lovely view of golf course view from bedroom, English breakfast Lack of "sign" such as "this way to reception"
quite hotel room, comfortable and clean. TV very old, could only get one channel properly also had to put the TV on the bin to see it over the bed. Luckily took the ipad.
Beautiful, elegant, traditional English country house hotel, with welcoming log fire in the hall. The food and wines were excellent. We went for a wedding lunch, which was superb, and stayed overnight. Thoroughly enjoyable - a very special hotel, in peaceful parkland. The bathroom was dated, but nothing to complain about.
The relaxed, friendly and efficient attitude of the staff. The room was excellent and the surroundings created a welcoming and relaxed experience.
stayed here fwice before and every time it is a pleasure if you like oldy worldy charm of the hotel and its various antiques scattered about you will love this check out their deals jan to dec for a real new year treat. if you can afford it book a suite they are fabulous rooms. having to get up and go home
Effort of the staff I stayed there 9 years ago for a business conference we all loved the setting and the hotel was beautiful. Still is a beautiful hotel but is tired, need a refresh to bring it up to standard. Was also very quiet at 10.30pm everyone had gone to bed and lights turned off!
Lovely surroundings and welcoming hotel interior and staff
the ambience workmen hammering
Location, privacy Checking out time is always too early
The hotel setting was very pretty and peaceful. The decor was very tasteful and relaxing
A beautiful room in a picturesque hotel set in idyliic grounds. Nothing
Very pleasant and helpful staff
All very comfortable
Breakfast I thought the hotel was very poor value for money. I've stayed at far better ones for much less.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful, the food was delicious and well presented and the location quiet and convenient. Impressed by the personal attention of the proprietor.
The hotel is set in a quiet little village. Its has plenty of parking. The room was lovely and clean as was the bathroom. The hotel is very quaint and the staff were all very nice. The evening meal, a three course set menu was excellent and we had a lovely couple of nights there to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately our double room was in fact two twin beds pushed together so there was a gap down the middle which was not very comfortable and secondly the coffee sachets in the room were from the shop 'tchibo' and it was not nice coffee at all. But apart from these two small things everything else was excellent.
Very comfortable room, good service and food. Will use it again
Staffs attention to detail, they all work as a team to a very high standard. Meals were excellent. Bed was very comfortable. Every thing was perfect an example of how a hotel should be run
The friendly and helpful staff. Also the fact that the Hotel was always warm and welcoming.
the friendliness of owner and staff part of infrastructure in room is very old
Nice pleasant easy going feel. Lack of attention from staff, shower in the room did not work, general room decor was tired and out of date. I expected better for the price.
Staff very helpfull food and drink very good standard, Parking was not to good
Very friendly and helpful staff; good location for Battle Abbey and the battlefield where the battle of Hastings was fought The shower didn't work (apparently there's a switch outside the door to the bathroom); the room walls were very thin; the coffee at breakfast was appalling
Excellent value very friendly> Parking was difficult.
staff were friendly and welcoming. Feel of a country pub with the convenience of an hotel. Good location for sightseeing and eating out
Friendly staff and home comforts of Hotel room. I became unwell in the evening and the staff were very supportive and kind. no
Very creaky floorboards throughout the building, kept awake with the noise. Not really an hotel, more a pub with rooms. No real reception or concierge facility. Over priced for what was nothing more than a basic bed and breakfast.
The beds were comfortable and the staff friendly. The location was excellent; opposite Battle Abbey and close to many footpaths. The room was small for the price.
The town No parking; dirty, stained carpet; non-working light;tiny TV and no remote control; dingy furnishings; not offered choices at breakfast; no side-plate/clean knife for toast; only marmalade for toast--no choice of jams etc; no choice of juice; table not cleaned before we sat down.
