9.0 Excellent
Pros: The Auberge is surrounded by woods and is a relaxing, quiet place. The room was not very spacious, but great for an overnight stay. The staff was friendly and helpful, but didn't speak English which made for some awkward and funny situations. The breakfast was great. Very tasty and interesting selection of cheese and ham and the breakfast room was nicely decorated in a rustic hunter's cabin style.
Cons: The noise of the vacuum toilets "lifting off" was quite disturbing and could be heard from many rooms away. It gets easy to ignore after the first few "thunders".
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was all okay
Cons: There was no longer restauration
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice staff really oriented to Service.
Cons: All’s been OK
7.9 Good
Pros: Clean and comfortable beds, nice views from windows. No traffic noise, nice old building. Lots of hot water.
Cons: WiFi did not work. Macerator toilet. Noise from another guests dog. None of the staff spoke English.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is located in the forest. You can start your hike just directly from the hotel. Fire place is amazing. Owner was putting it on every evening.
Cons: For the breakfest you can ask for omlet and fresh orange juice, but we were not informed about it the first day.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and quiet location in the Ardennes countryside. Owner is quite friendly and welcoming, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent, particularly the fruit cocktail.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was very welcoming and kind. She gave us a bigger room because we were travelling with small kids.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The warm feeling in the house, because of the amazing hosts!!!! It felt like coming home, great and very user friendly layout! Would definitely go back without any doubt!!! I've been to a lot of places over the last few years... but the L'Orchidée will be remembered for a very long time
7.5 Good
Pros: Hosts are not very welcoming. Coffee machine is located at entrance, Host told me to have coffee as and when I feel like but when I prepared coffee after dinner she asked me not to prepare. Isn't it a good idea to display the time. Breakfast is just Ok The place is a little away from main town. Checkin is at 5 PM and checkout is at 10 AM so actually they are renting the room for 4 hours less the normal checkin checkout times all over the world.
Cons: breakfast.
Overview Reviews

4.0 Okay
Pros: The bed was great, as was the view from our room. Cannot fault the location and everyone was very friendly.
Cons: Unfortunately, the floor in our room made a dreadful noise when we walked on it, we pity anyone staying in the room below, plus the sound insulation between rooms was poor. It was impossible to stop the shower throwing water on the bathroom floor and there needed to be a handrail to help getting in and out (shower was over the bath). On checkout the lift was out of service, so no way down to the garage meaning we had to walk outside to the car then park on a busy roundabout to load our bags and typically, it was raining!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view of the castle! Location was perfect. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Big thank you to the young lady working at reception that accommodated us when we asked to change the room. Highly recommended visit to this hotel and location.
Cons: Everything was perfect!
7.5 Good
Pros: Location was good.
Cons: No kettle to warm water in the room, for a single tea at least....
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, cozy hotel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The tasteful decor, the high quality food in the bar and restaurant, the relaxing atmosphere.
Cons: The WiFi did not work as in it was so slow you couldn’t use it, surprising given the fast connections you normally find in Belgium.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I made a mistake and booked a day earlier than I meant to, hotel still honoured booking and didn't charge again, which they didn't have to as it was my mistake
Cons: Nothing all good
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Nicely refurbished, keeping the old style and architecture alive.
Cons: Had better breakfast, for the same price. You can easily hear neighbors from room above.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location of the hotel was great ! the room was nicely decorated - the nice little handwritten note left to welcome our arrival was particularly nice. Breakfast had a good selection of produce and it was tasty
Cons: the room was very creaky, you cannot walk on the room without the floor making an incredible amount of noise - you can hear the room next to yours as well. The staff at check-in weren't very welcoming - he was called out by a colleague and he first sat down, then did something with the computer and then acknowledge us - very strange that you wouldn't say Bonjour first thing.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location , great view and well priced
7.1 Good
Pros: - amazing view from hostel. You can overlook the whole village (including the castle and the church) - a lot of public area to seat and relax - breakfast and bar area looks cozy - look clean everywhere - staffs are helpful - overall i have a pleasant stay here
Cons: - if you take the bus to Bouillon, after get off from the bus stop, you need to walk 20mins uphill to hostel - reception opens in a limited time. I was locked out from hostel when I arrived there at 1pm (which is their lunch time break). Be prepared to arrive at the time they open. - only 4 plugs in a dormitory with 10people and not near the bed. Just a remind to guest.
10.0 Excellent

Hotel Cosy - Bouillon - Building
6
7.7 Good (178 reviews)
Overview Reviews
You'll be centrally located in Bouillon with a stay at Hotel Cosy, and 9 minutes by foot from Bouillon Castle. Featured amenities include a business center, express check-in, and express check-out. Free self parking is available onsite.
6.3 Good
Pros: Clean, good bed
Cons: Common areas close after 10pm (no lobby access). Breakfast room is dark with no windows (no view of the castle) Breakfast OK but didn't meet our expectation at the price level, compared to other properties we stayed at in the area.
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice view over Bouillon and the Castle.
Cons: The hotel could be named ”Cosy & Strange”. When we entered into the reception we met a big cat.... I love cats but my wife does not. So, perhaps it would be good to inform guests that this is an Animal Hotel... also because it was in the breakfast restaurant in the morning too... we all know what cats do.. Then the stairs up to the room was very uncomfortable and it was smelling old. Finally the room was cold... so yes you can say it was cosy.... had to sleep close to keep the temperature. I guess this hotel will be perfect for catlovers for guests still living in the eighties. Modern guests expect more in relation to the relatively high price we paid.
5.4 Okay
Pros: I like location and I had paid extra fir view on castle . Breakfast and dinner were very good
Cons: The staff. Gentleman at reception (probably co owner) is tge weakest point. Room had canalisation priblem I guess, meaning water in bathroom took long minutes to go down.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely welcome by the parents of one of the owners? Gentle and kind. Warm. A lot of things to look at, felt a little crowded but was very warming and cosy as the name says. Room pretty, lovely, cosy. Lightly themed. Amazing views. Really welcoming. I figured out that there was a car radio cassette player built in my night table and soon we were dancing to old classics. A lot of fun. Good night's sleep. Breakfast: everything that was available tasted good. Nice room for breakfast. Location was pretty as we had great views and could also park right in front of the hotel. Parents of one of the owners were so very kind, they made our stay extra pleasant! Big thumbs up for them!
Cons: I did not like that there was not really someone to receive us at 14h40, 20min before check-in. Yes one of the owners parents were there and very welcoming but they couldn't help us. Nobody was at the hotel yet. Breakfast could have been a bit more welcoming by perhaps having staff here to help navigate a little bit or provide a cappuccino, latte or hot chocolate instead of filter coffee on a heat plate and nearly no warm milk. A machine could help as well. Being in this area I expected more cheeses or specialties at breakfast. Bit of a small and crowded area when looking for things, felt a little unnatural. Big bathroom with bathtub which is great but very slippery and no handle bars. The door that would stop the water from going on the floor, sadly did not work so well. I don't like the packaging for shampoo that you have to tear open, not very convenient. Entrance a little busy and beautiful view blocked, would put a lounge here. Oh and with checkout we had to pay for the minibar usage, but we checked up front and there wasn't mentioning of it in their welcoming book, like prices, and there wasn't, so expected water to be free of charge. Which it was not. Told the owner at checkout, but he did not respond to that.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very cosy, like the hotel's name says! And very good restaurant.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room and breakfast. Great location
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant breakfast, very comfortable room, really enjoyed our stay.
Cons: Steps ( only joking)

6.0 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Shower
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, very central. Basic room but comfortable
Cons: There was a shared bathroom rather than a private bathroom per room. This was not a major problem since it was clean and we never had to wait, but I do not remember seeing anything on the literature about the shared facilities when I completed my booking.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was great and view was good.
Cons: Very expensive given the time of year (end October). Quite outdated and bed, particularly pillows, were uncomfortable. Would have expected to pay less for what we got.
6.7 Good
Pros: Amazing location right in the center of Bouillon. Property was clean and the staff was friendly.
Cons: A bit expensive for a small room with a shared bathroom (more like a hostel than a hotel) and the bed was very uncomfortable.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Rooms were clean, location was excellent
Cons: More light in the room, more plug points in the room, there was no kettle in the room
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good hotel in a very good location for the discovery of the city and the surroundings. Friendly staff and large room. Good buffet breakfast.
7.5 Good
Pros: Welcoming staff at the desk were lovely. Family room was a lovely size and split so that it felt like you had your own section. Lovely view of the river and parking directly opposite the hotel.
Cons: Staff at breakfast made us feel rushed even though we arrived 30 mins before breakfast was finished. We would recommend going earlier for breakfast as at that time there was limited selection as it was not being restocked. Light sleepers should be aware that the internal plumbing can be heard when the toilet is flushed/shower started.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: the restaurant serves really good food. the owner is a very nice guy.
Cons: we had no view from our window in the room.
5.3 Okay
Pros: At first, the staff seemed curt, but later the manager was quite helpful. The location was also very good.
Cons: I've never seen: 1). A hotel in a cold climate with tiles on the floor with no carpeting! Gave it a cold, impersonal feeling. 2.) A TV with a controlled maximum volume! Wasn't very loud!!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The chef/owner was very attenti8ve to his guests and provided a very high standard of cuisine.
Cons: Nothing
6.0 Good
Pros: Good location, nice village.
Cons: In need of some improvements - radiator did not work properly (too hot) and hairdryer hose was broken.
7.3 Good
Pros: Great location, very friendly staff. The room was clean and had a nice view of the river. Quiet location and good breakfast (the warm bread in the morning was wonderful!).
Cons: The room did not look like the picture (we did not have a four poster bed). The bed was really uncomfortable.

Cons: No negative points at all
6.0 Good
Pros: in the town, close to castle
Cons: cold in the room
7.0 Good
Pros: Manager Alain was very friendly.
Cons: Friends said shared bathrooms lacked privacy - I understand there were open cubicles for shower and toilets in same space.
6.0 Good
Pros: The view and the location excellent. Staff very helpful.
Cons: The internet could be only accessed through a cable in the lobby. I guess that it is close to impossible to get to it in high season.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Basic hotel...old accomodation but with a charm in it's own way...very friendly staff...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best place to stay in Christmas Eve. At all.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We really appreciated the breakfast. The omelette and sun-side egg were both nicely done, not even mentioned the simple but good breakfast. The room is decorated with original European classic style. We enjoyed the bath especially. (Nowadays you rarely find bath with this price range in a family room of 4) The hotel is not out-dated - some system is in need of modernization to match the new norm but the whole atmosphere and the originality of deco is classic and authentic. Happy to see another true European classic hotel back. Btw, it's very close to the border of Belgium/France. So it's easy to reach Sedan fortress and Orval abbey. In between, you will enjoy the true verdant natural area of Ardennes.

7.0 Good
Pros: Location is brilliant. Restaurant served awesome food and drinks. The staffs were very friendly.
Cons: I wouldn't complain about anything.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quaint hotel, old fashioned decoration, but it suits the hotel and surroundings perfectly. Nicely clean, big room and big, comfortable bed. Eating in the restaurant was a treat! Good pasta and perfect wood oven pizza. Great value.
Cons: Right on the main street, so no private parking spaces, but there is a big parking area about 100m walking from the hotel, so not a big problem.
6.3 Good
Pros: The room was quiet. The staff was very friendly. The bed was comfortable. The shower was ok.
Cons: The bathroom had stains. The light in the hallway was not allways on, you could turn it on but you had to press hard. Breakfast was ok. But the sausages were like ( zwan tv sausages)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location. We stayed one night only and were quite happy with the room. Initially we heard the neighbors through the walls on arrival but nothing during the night and we slept quite well. The bathroom was functional with a nice, hot shower. We didn’t use any other facilities in the hotel.

Cons: ... nothing ...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel, great position, good room, and lovely dinner. Couldn't fault it. If in Bouillion, this is the place to stay. Will be back !
Cons: Pillows needed to be bigger, seemed incongruous that on a super king size bed we were only given one small pillow per person. In the hotels defence we were too stupid to ask for more. But maybe something to be considered.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is situated high up above Bouillon with wonderful views across the river and to the castle. Our room was very comfortable. Lounge area very comfy and there is a great terrace at the front. Sadly it was raining so we didn’t use it. We ate dinner which was absolutely delicious and had an excellent breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Parking could be tricky
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: I like the lounge

8.0 Excellent
Pros: the restaurant was excellent.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: There was a beautiful view from the bedroom, which was of a good size, though we had booked an upgraded room. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, in a pleasant dining area.
Cons: They should not advertise a swimming pool. It's a plunge pool.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel lovely family run business. Very quirky decor which we loved. Top chef who cooked a lovely evening meal.
Cons: Hard pillows.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a hotel we’ve stayed at on a number of occasions and have always enjoyed our stay here. We have always found it to be very good value for money and have enjoyed the traditional feel to the hotel. Our rooms have always had river views and it’s location is just a short riverside stroll to the main hub of the town.
Cons: This trip was with my son and we each had a single room. My room sadly was the worst I have experienced at this hotel over the years. The shower sprayed water everywhere but where you needed it ie down! The shower room had a hole in the floor under the carpet and a second hole under the carpet in the bedroom. I really don’t feel my room was fit for purpose.

4.2 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The building smelt stale. It was dirty in places and generally run down it felt unclean. They had a dog( who is lovely) but in the general open area used for guests the carpet was full of dog hairs and looked liked it had never seen a hoover☹️ Room was small. Landlady could not speak English but we got by as we did not need to interact with them much.

The delicious breakfast was delivered to my room exactly on time and the complimentary bottle of wine in my room was certainly appreciated. The room with free Wifi was spacious and quiet and had a large bathroom with shower. Parking was not a problem since there is a safe , public parking lot across the street. It is centrally located to all of the sites, shops and restaurants in town.

Staff was helpful and friendly and cooked a very good and abundant breakfast, which is served in your bedroom at an agreed time. Bottle of wine and box of chocolate, as well as coffee, tea and water are complimentary. Excellent value for money.
Cons: Bed was small and not comfortable (I’m very pregnant and didn’t sleep well).
7.9 Good
Pros: The room has a very nice atmosphere. The hosts put a bottle of wine in the room as a courtesy. There's free parking just across the street. The location is just a few steps away from the centre. The breakfast is extensive and delicious.
7.1 Good
Pros: 1. Location was excellent. Parking easy. 2. Nice touches. Chocolates on the bed, free bottle of wine. 3. Breakfast was amazing and to die for: Cheese omelet, filled pancakes, fresh fruit... 4. Free coffee and water refilled every day.
Cons: 1. I think the price was a bit steep, 70 euro per night would have been better. For 90 euro a night, I think it is too expensive when you consider the details missed. For example, we saw the doors were dirty, the sink also. 2. It is an old building so you hear a fair bit of noise. I heard the man below us snoring for two nights straight.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just perfect
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely neat. Pressure in shower a little low. On second floor a streetlight illuminates the whole bedroom, I dreamt of oranges. I would nevertheless recommend it, especially for a nice romance

Pros: We absolutely loved the location of the property and will definitely keep coming back. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and made our stay truly memorable. The chalet we stayed in is very well equipped and the view from the terrace is absolutely breathtaking :)
Cons: It would be very handy if the chalets were equipped with a minibar. Additionally, although the restaurant food is very well prepared, all the main courses share the same side dish (depending on the day), so some combinations are more successful than others. But these are only details, we loved the overall experience.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Upon arrival the lady on reception seemed to know exactly who we were which was an excellent start. The food at the hotel is excellent and people seem to travel to enjoy dinner here. It is, however, now quite expensive for those of us spending pounds sterling instead of euros. Although located on a main road it was very quiet at night with few vehicles passing by and we could even hear owls calling during the night!
Cons: Parking is limited but opposite there is plenty of on road parking. We were allowed to park our motorcycles at the rear of the property. The hotel is located about a 15 minute walk up the hill from Vresse village centre, but that is just what you need to walk off your evening meal if you decide to eat there. Rooms were comfortable with the most comfortable pillow I have ever had.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Superb breakfast; wide range of cold and hot selections. Excellent dinner-great quality & portion size. Huge comfortable Queen size bed! Lovely countryside location. Our host came out to greet us on arrival, accompanied & directed us to the rear of the hotel to park our motorcycles for safety & security. Lovely warm greeting by the patron after a long day's ride who obviously cares about welcoming her clients. Showed us our rooms & later translated the menu (just as she was walking out the door to go home).
Cons: The only minor downside was the time it took for the hot water to come through the faucet and no wifi in the rooms (but lots of cosy sitting rooms downstairs & a late bar!).

8.0 Excellent
Pros: A hotel with a lot of character, in a very good way. Much bigger than it actually looks from outside, and more so because of the layout of the hotel. Separate gathering rooms, fireplace, dinning areas.... as you move from one corner of the place to another. The welcome drink was a nice touch too. Very comfortable, and very friendly owner. The area, the scenery, the villages are all fantastic.
Cons: For someone with limited mobility, the lay out and the stairs would make it a challenge.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location close to the river in the centre of the village is superb. The living room is spacious with enough place to play for the kids. The rooms are clean. The kitchen fire was fairly slow and there was only just enough cutlery and plates and nearly no glasses...Furthermore decent place.
Cons: The only thing was the price which according to the host was n't correct on booking. After a lot of arguments in the end we just paid the price we booked for. Because of the reaction of the host and the way he dealed with it, I wouldn't recommend the place.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Accommodated with early breakfast. Good info on excellent restaurant from host.
Cons: Attic room was very warm despite fan. Weather exceptional this year however.

6.3 Good
Pros: The place is up a steep hill but accessible if you've got stamina or a car. The views, especially from our room #2 were dramatic of the city and the Count's Fort. It had a lovely "public patio" (quotes to be explained later) and our room also had a grand outdoor patio.
Cons: The owner/chef Wim(?), ruined our time at this location. He is a hot head with a chip on his shoulder that ended up being the downfall of our time there as well as two Americans also staying there that we befriended. As John Paul, our Belgian American friend said "this guy is really bad for Belgium." Not to prolong the misery but the incident arose after we were gifted by Van Steenberg Brewery near Ghent a magnum of our favorite Belgium beer, Tripel de Garre. We told the staff we wanted to share it with others and the young son showed us we had a fridge in our room. I then told Wim we met their guests from America and wanted to get some cheeses to offer them when we shared the bottle. Wim directed me to the store. We met our friends on the public patio outside well away from the B&B and restaurant. there was no one in the bar or restaurant. I asked the young worker if we could use four glasses to share the beer and he graciously agreed. After about 30 minutes of quietly enjoying the view and the beer, Wim stormed onto the public patio, told us we were not allowed to drink our belgium beer there and insisted we leave immediately. We said OK and started to gather our belongings but Wim shouted "right now, you must leave immediately!" He then claimed in 20 years no guest has ever had the audacity to share a beverage on the public patio. At that point, we had to ask him to calm down as he was acting threatening, but the rant continued. He even told us about the size of his mortgage as if drinking our gift had deprived him of significant value! The said thing is our simple celebration with new found friends is not what is depriving him of income. It is the atrociously sophomoric culinary experience he offers. It was also the low light of our eating in Belgium. This guy really should not be in the service or culinary business. To prove the point, aside from the four of us, only one other couple ever showed up for dinner.
7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent breakfast, clean hotel and nice bathroom
Cons: 130 € / per night is a bit expensive for a small room, without breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very attractive house, high on the hill in Bouillon with beautiful views of the town.
Cons: The breakfast was quite extensive but compared to others we sampled on our tour with thought it was rather overpriced for the quantities offered.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were terrific, loved how they talked with us all during breakfast and made us feel like we were visiting friends. Loved how they transformed the original building and left some original pieces. Felt extremely safe there even when we were the only couple until later in the evening.
Cons: Was concerned when we first arrived as there was no one there, but our own fault as we didn’t see the email from the host asking when we would be there so he could meet us. He answered our call immediately and provided us with what we needed.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were a group of 12 friends staying for one night. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming. We ate in the restaurant which had a nice selection of meals. The salmon tagine was excellent. The breakfast was good too. The rooms were comfortable and had a homely atmosphere, with a supply of nice toiletries if needed. The Auberge does not have its own car park, but there was plenty of room to park our 6 cars opposite the Auberge in a public parking area. Overall an excellent place to stay in a beautiful area. We have booked to stay on the return journey and are thinking about coming back next year for a longer break.

Auberge Au Naturel des Ardennes - Rochehaut - Restaurant

8.3 Excellent (641 reviews)

Pros: Hotel is located in the forest. You can start your hike just directly from the hotel. Fire place is amazing. Owner was putting it on every evening.
Cons: For the breakfest you can ask for omlet and fresh orange juice, but we were not informed about it the first day.
