With a stay at Gardenias de Gocta in Cocachimba, you'll be in the mountains, just a 1-minute walk from Gocta Waterfalls and 5 minutes by foot from Cerro Tacala. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and a water dispenser.
Pros: Good location, Nice owner
Cons: It is fairly primitive, no hot water or wifi. If you are looking for luxury this is not your place
Pros: The family running the property was very nice and quick to respond. The meals were good and a good value. The start of the hike to Gocta Falls is very close by and is a better way because less people on the path. The view on the balcony outside the room is gorgeous.
Cons: The sheets could’ve been a little cleaner. The stairs up to the room can be a little precarious. If there are other guests in the hostel, then the walls are a little thin.
Pros: The host was very kind and the food good
Cons: The problem was that my reservation with booking was not available with them. No place for me so they try To find a solution : i slept in a room in front of the hostel and i pay everything... No gift, nothing
Pros: Very friendly owners with welcoming attention. Great, home-cooked local food. Awesome breakfast was included in the price and they made it for us early in the morning before our walk. We could keep our rucksacks locked in the room until we returned in the afternoon. Very quiet location in a charming, untouched village. Great for starting the Gocta walk from a less- traversed side. The room was adequate. There was no-one else staying so it was quiet, otherwise only wooden board partitions between rooms. All the rooms are up a short flight of small wooden stairs. The place is a hostel and restaurant.
Cons: Mosquitos in the room were bothersome overnight so it was difficult to sleep. The rooms aren't meshed. The shared bathrooms were downstairs and had only cold water with one shower. There was no water when we arrived but this was sorted out in the evening. It seems expensive for what was offered but there isn't much choice in this small village.
Pros: nice people running the place. good location for gocta. they cooked a nice meal and nice coffee in the morning.
Cons: could have been cleaner. walls do not reach up to not roof level between rooms - about a one foot gap.
Pros: Excellent location to start a treck to the Gocta waterfall, far less touristy than Cocachimba.
Cons: The hotel is very basic, the rooms are not separated by a proper wall but only some wood plates, they are very dark. Bathroom and shower are downstairs and part of a restaurant.
