Good food & polite/helpful staff Some decor & gardens look somewhat 'tired'
The staff were very pleasant and helpful and everyone made the effort to chat and make residents comfortable.
Despite the November chill the room was warm and cosy with a very comfortable bed. Very quiet hotel.
Staff all very pleasant and helpful, despite multi tasking because of lack of numbers Hotel could have been warmer. Despite nice furnisjhings and being clean the coolness gives a feeling of being unwelcome
The friendliness of the staff; the help that was extended to us as disabled people; the bed; the room; the outlook; the restaurant; the breakfast room; the bar; the relaxation that we had due to the hotel staff: The coffee; both at dinner and breakfast:
It was like stepping back in time to a former era. The ambience was lovely and we had a excellent meal next to an open fire which was the highlight of our visit. Our bedroom was beautifully furbished and the hospitality provided was first class. The only complaint we would have is that the bed (which was a kingsize) was rather hard.
Comfortable room, warm welcome, good breakfast. Lack of information about the immediate locality (lots of info about other places!)
Spacioous room, satellite tv in room
The food was excellent and the staff very friendly The hotel had an old fashioned style which could be updated . the paper in the ceiling of the bedroom was coming offand the grouting in the bathroom was mouldy but these are minor points .
It was very welcoming and very comfortable.the food was also very good and the parking facilities excellent.
The staff was tremendously helpful and friendly. The food quality was excellent. No
The Marine Hotel has the best breakfast I have ever known anywhere in the world and I am a seasoned traveller. It is in a wonderful position close to some of the best scenery in Scotland and near to a golf course. A small but luxury hotel. There was nothing that I did not like.
Well located for my travel plans. Easy to find. There was a bit of noise from a door opening and closing nearby but that did not really affect my stay.
staff smiling, friendly and eager to please. Nothing was too much trouble. Leisure suite very nice, clean and spacious. Garden cafe excellent.Log fires to curl up in front of - mmm, fabulous. Room was very cold. Heating system not efficient. Windows very draughty.
Facilities and food were execllent
The Food was fantastic. The meal in the bistro was of the highest standard for a very reasonable price
the friendliness of the staff. the comfort of the surroundings. a beautiful hotel to stay at.
The quality of the food was excellent. The menu was adventurous with all courses beautifully presented.
Quiet location, adjacent to golf course, harbour, and wonderful beach; comfortable room,well-equipped, huge bed, bedroom and public rooms well-heated (very welcome in a chilly May midweek), staff welcoming and helpful. Leisure suite looks nice.Pleasant dining room and lounges., with open fires lit.Choice of eating areas and pleasant garden area, sheltered from the sea. Food was not up to expectations, over-elaborated to the detriment of indivudual flavours, components not well chosen to compliment each other, disappointing at the price. The Arts and Crafts building could seem a little gloomy on a dark afternoon, but was brought alive with fires and candles in the evening.
The front of house staff were excellent, very helpfull. We were provided with a front door key which didn't work and we felt bad having to get the night porter out of his bed.
excellent location---and food,---very friendly and informal staff. Ample parking--great local atmosphere.
Extremely nice staff and a warm welcolme from a fellow Lancastrian. The hotel has been refurbished to a good standard and made for a pleasant stay. I needed an early breakfast and special arrangements were made to accommodate me. It was dark when I arrived and I left before daybreak, so didn't get a chance to admire the view!
Friendly helpful staff . Great food. Superb location.
Good food and relaxed atmosphere with comfortable lounge area led to a very pleasant stay.
outside sitting area bar too small restricted menu if staying for more than one night
I found the level of service from the staff very high as they were very welcoming and very attentive. I was upgraded room free of charge as the hotel was quiet that evening which was a nice touch. Having a drink in front of the open fire was a real luxury. My only dissapointment was that I was not arriving until 7.45pm and I was told the kitchen closed at 8pm. I felt a bit as if it was suggested I have something to eat before I arrived. A party of 4 young people also came into the hotel around 8.30pm looking for a meal but were turned away. I think in the current economic climate the hotel should not be turning away potential business
As a lone traveller, the staff made me feel very welcome, comfortable and were very helpful. The location was also great! There was no phone in my room (the only room in the hotel without a phone), having said that, the hotel let me use their phone free of charge to call home!
Comfortable, welcoming, nice atmosphere - lovely fires & upstairs lounge
The Bed! The cat!
CLean, friendly, attention to detail good, staff pleasant and happy with their work
I had planned a golfing outing at the Royal Dornoch Golf Course and wanted a bit of a splurge, something besides the B&B route. You filled the bill magnificently. Wonderful staff, lovely room, excellent all around.
Nice location, good food Small room, over priced
Superbly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff, phenomenal bar with lots of character, great location, and fantastic food (breakfasts and suppers)! We would happily return - and stay longer!
The friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. The meals were of a very high standard.
The owners were friendly and welcoming abd couldn't do enough to deal with my gluten-free requirements. Lovely dog! The room was rather cold; it would have been lovely if the heating had been switched on before our arrival. We had to switch on the radiator ourselves. As other reviewers have mentioned, refurbishment is needed but we need to be realistic; hotel owners in the Highlands don't make enough money to maintain hotels as well as city hotels!
The temporary staff tried their best When I rang to confirm eta and with a query, the woman running the hotel had no reference of my stay, and the hotel was in fact closed for the week. She accomodated me, but with the bar closed, it was not a hotel, it was an overpriced bed and breakfast.
Perfect location and very comfortable. 5 star food - no problem with special requests. lesley & Ian very friendly and helpful but did not impose on our holiday in any way. They and their staff enhanced our week in Bonar Bridge. Hotel quiet at night and we slept well and ate like kings. Highly recommended. Couldnt stay longer!! Couldnt eat more than we did!
An ideal location for not only scenery but for travelling Would definately book again. Nice homely run business with attentive staff. Food was excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable experience....
FRIENDLY SERVICE AND GOOD FOOD OUTSIDE COULD DO WITH SOME TLC
People were friendly. Old, bathroom was dirty.
We were made to feel most welcome - like a home from home. That included our two dogs - most dog friendly! They had a great break too.
The food was the best Lesley Iain and Sam(the dog) very welcoming everything was great
Food (Breakfast and evening meals were brilliant)
Food good The room was very cold
