quiet and comfortable the person at the front desk was not nice at check in. she for some reason only got nice after check in. friends staying at the hotel thought the same thing. your 1st impression was not a welcome one.
The room's setting, with it's private garden and secluded, peaceful nature, were outstanding. We loved the room's decor and style, and the huge bathroom with the soaker tub were big plusses. The breakfast and the afternoon wine and cheese reception were both great.
This hotel is amazing, a great place to get away and relax. The atmosphere is calm and soothing. The grounds are beautiful and the interiors are gorgeous. Breakfast is lovely and simple but wonderfully executed. Whether staying in the main house or in the zen suites, the hotel is worth the trip. We've stayed here 4 times and never had a bad moment.
The room was so very comfortable, absolutely great knowledgeable staff, who know the answer to any question you could ask. Also a great selection of guest towels in different sizes. Nothing
Fortunately for us, we were upgraded to a suite. It was incredible, filled with high-end designer furnishings: tony mix of Senufo (African) stools, Shoji (Japanese) screens, Kuba (African) pillows. Huge granite bathtub with view into private interior Japanese courtyard (bamboo, rocks.) Doorless shower with two heads. Double granite bowl sinks on granite Parson's style cabinet. Black cement floors, two loveseats on rug in front of gas fireplace. Private deck with lounge chairs facing brook. Nightly wine and cheese samplings and a daily gourmet breakfast: fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, organic yogurt, some type of egg dish, quiche, French roast coffee. Our rug was not vaccumed (we had dropped cookie crumbs on it) and our coffee supply was not replenished. Not a huge problem, but for an establishment of this quality, a bit surprising.

The wood burning fireplace. The hotel room was not worth the price we paid. It was dated and rundown. The towels and upholstery on the chairs were fraying. A metal piece came off our shower when turning it on. The breakfast was bad with old fruit and rancid cottage cheese.
Hotel employee is the man. Jack of all trades. Owner, host, chef, waiter, etc Would have been nice if it's closer to Bodega Bay. Also WiFi was extra -- would be nice to have in rooms as cell coverage is not good from surrounding hills.
It was a very quiet place and the room I was in was very large and pretty. The pool/spa closes at 6pm/9pm. I would have liked to come back after being out and relax and swim. The guest towels were threadbare and stringy around the edges. The curtains in the bathroom did not provide adequate privacy. No breakfast variety.
room, setup, service, food - everything was excellent will go back
The setting and landscaping and staff were awesome.
The location was perfect (right in the main square), and it's right above the mos popular restaurant in town: The Girl and the Fig. I loved the staff and the decor in the rooms... so cute! I also really liked that there wasn't really a television. It's perfect for quality time! Everything that was lacking you sort of should already be aware of when you sign up for a boutique B&B: no TV or room phone; light street noise (because it's on the main town square), no designated parking (again, because it's on the main town square).
I did a vacation with my mom and we had a wonderful time at this hotel! The staff was extremely helpful with all of our needs. I highly recommend this hotel! Additionally the location was right in the square!
Sonoma/Napa is a pricey area. For the price of an OK hotel room, you can stay at this traditional B&B. For the money, it's a no-brainer. The staff recommendation to check out the Tuesday night farmers market was a real winner. Don't miss out on the food, music and dancing. Parking spaces are very narrow, but it is only a problem if the place is full. I suggest that you back in, so that it is easy to pull out of the lot.
Me and my gal had a great stay here. It was a short walk to the downtown square where we enjoyed tasting wine without having to worry about driving. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was wonderful. The rooms were cozy and quiet. Very relaxing :) The coffee was a little weak...
Quaint hotel, friendly service, nice rooms. Two towels for 4 people, no staff to get extra.
Great location near the beach. ..good value. Nice rooms The water has a pungent sulfur smell when you flush the commode.
The women who owns the hotel is so sweet. There is the best deli and bakery right across the street and you are only 5 minutes away from the beach. Also on the weekends she offers a small breakfast with pastries, fruit, yogrut, juice, muffins, and coffe. No
The hotel has been rebuilt and everything is as close to brand new - while still maintaining the old building architecture, decor, and charm. The antiques in the room were a very nice touch and the huge king bed was firm but very comfortable. Nice bath. The upstairs public area for coffee and pastries was a little cramped. Not really meant for more then two to four people at a time.
safe, clean, quiet, and nicely decorated no
the restaurant was great No place to check in except in the bar. The noise downstairs in the restaurant went on well past closing time and made it difficult to get any sleep. It is also on a busy highway.
The romm was very clean and cozy! Loved the new look with the old look blended in!
The staff was wonderful. The room was rustic as I expected from a hotel built in 1864. The shower in the room was large. There is a nice restaurant in the hotel and the food is great!
The location The room did not have air conditioning which I need. The staff quoted the 14 day cancellation policy and told us we would be charged for one night anyway. I left my tablet in the room and still have not gotten it back. Overall bad experience...
