When you stay at Casa da Torre in Valga, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Praia fluvial de Vilarello and Rosalia de Castro House Museum. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Excellent location in beautiful old farmhouse surrounded by fruit trees in walled garden, but on outskirts of town so walking distance to a handful of good local traditional Galician restaurants. Great base for visiting Santiago which is an easy 25 minute drive, and exploring the region and beautiful coastline. Excellent breakfast and such a lovely and friendly owner and staff!
Pros: Bed and bedroom were good with good powers shower. The breakfast was excellent. With fresh eggs from their chickens, fruit from their trees and fresh cakes every day. The owner and staff were lovely and could not have been more helpful. The pool was really nice sourounded by the beautiful garden and almost for our sole use as not used very much by other guests.
Cons: Wi fi slow and can't always access in bedrooms and certain parts of the house. ( This is due to the thick stone walls). Tennis court is in very poor condition and no proper net. Table tennis bats need replacing and leg of table needs fixing There are fiesta's in surrounding villages in August and music can go on to early morning. If you shut the window you can't hear the noise but there is no air con so you have to put the fan on all night and even then it can be slightly warm.
Pros: Beautiful property with lovely hostess. Couldn’t have been more helpful. Went out of there way.
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like a hidden secret.
Pros: This little family place is a perl. The staff were so kind and service minded - they even drove us to restaurants and the supermarket. The place has a wonderful pool area and garden. We stayed 2 days on our camino and the place is worth the detour - you will be on the camino again after 2 km. Thanks for a fantastic stay :-)
Pros: I loved Casa da Torre so much I changed my Camiño plans to arrange to come back 6 days later with my daughter!! It’s a beautiful property with amazing, caring staff that treat you like royalty from the time you step in until you leave!!
Pros: This was an amazing casa with friendly, caring staff. We were early and greeted by Juan, Romona Isabella. Treated us like family-helped with much needed laundry and we slept in peace and quiet! Went to O Candil for dinner and had delicious tapas, salad, wine and beer for under $23 euros!! Isabella made omelettes to order and Romona was baking Santiago cake for part of breakfast when we returned from exploring the city and dinner!! And the entire breakfast which you request the time you’d like it was fabulous!!
Cons: Not one thing!!!
Pros: I can’t praise this place enough. It had everything one could expect and then some more. The property is slightly off the beaten track but well worth the detour. From the moment we arrived we were looked after. Our bikes were taken and stored securely. We were given a tour of the beautiful common areas , the beautiful gardens and the pool area before then being shown to our room. The attention to detail in the interior decor of house and bedrooms was notable. Wood, stone, tile and wallpaper combine to make this a very beautiful residence. The Casa Is run very professionally but they also care about their guests Towels arrived poolside followed by iced water. We enquired about dinner and were driven and collected, as were others, from a restaurant in the town about 1km away. Laundry was hung out for us while we wined and dined. There was no extra charge for any of these services. Breakfast was again excellent as could only be expected from top notch hosts. We are promising to return for a holiday without the bikes next time!
Cons: There was nothing to dislike
Pros: Words cannot adequately describe my stay at this remarkable venue. Casa da Torre is truly unique. Imagine visiting distant relatives from another country. You may not speak the same language, but the bond is immediate and tangible. I have traveled far and wide, however I have yet to experience a place so wonderful, so welcoming and so charming as Casa da Torre. It is a gem among gems. Every possible need was anticipated and or met with smiles and reassurances. I will always look back on my stay with the fondest of memories.
Featuring a garden, Albergue Camiño Do Sar is set in Padrón. Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and a shared lounge, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. The units come with air conditioning, a microwave, a fridge, a kettle, a shower, a hairdryer and a wardrobe. With a shared bathroom, rooms at the hostel also provide guests with a river view. At Albergue Camiño Do Sar every room has a seating area. Guests at the accommodation can enjoy a buffet breakfast. Santiago de Compostela is 29 km from Albergue Camiño Do Sar, while Pontevedra is 39 km away. The nearest airport is Santiago de Compostela Airport, 41 km from the hostel.
Pros: Finn and Maria are excellent hosts
Cons: Nothing to dislike
Pros: The place is spotless clean and breakfast was all prepared when I woke up. The location is on the Camino so super easy to find. The host was extremely kind and helpful. The room was nicely heated and I was given an extra blanket.
Cons: If your next stop is Santiago, you would need to get up a bit earlier as you need to walk through the city.
Pros: This is the first hostel that northbound pilgrims will see when walking into town. There are several restaurants only a five minute walk into town. The kitchen was tiny but stocked with basics (e.g., salt, tea, vinegar, pasta) and plenty of kitchen supplies, which was nice. The breakfast consisted of sliced wonder bread and jam (only one toaster) and packaged pastries. Nobody seemed to know how the coffee maker worked. The bunks were clean and have an interior light, electrical outlet and privacy curtain. Nearby lockers were large and easily could fit a 40 L backpack. Not much floor space, so the lockers were necessary. The male staff member offered to set a heater in the area where hiking shoes are kept on shelves - after a day of walking through heavy downpours, it was a treat to have dry shoes to put on in the morning - thank you!!
Cons: The bathroom area was relatively clean, but there was limited soap and no paper towels for proper hand-washing (very important when living in such close quarters). The hostel was at capacity the night I stayed (unsure how many beds, but guessing approx 30 beds). Because only a thin door separated the kitchen from the sleeping area, I would have appreciated the staff asking guests chatting in the kitchen to keep the volume lower after 22:00. Otherwise, a pleasant stay!
Pros: Great staff, towels, privacy curtains, warm showers.
Cons: All good, no issues
Pros: Nice bunks with curtains Good kitchen Area to sit outside Good facilities Good staff
Pros: Well kept quiet space, clean with great beds an showers.
Cons: The only bit that would have capped off the experience was, there wasn't much of an option to dry out my clothes.
Pros: It’s owned by a brother and a sister! They are extremely attentive. The place is located right in front of the Camino! I will definitely stay there next year :)
Pros: Really nice host, helped us a lot and was very kind. Good breakfast that comes with the price of the bed.
Pros: Clean and you got what it said- good breakfast
Cons: Out of town
Pros: Very helpful staff. Facilities excellent.
With a stay at A Casa Da Meixida in Padron, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Camilo Jose Cela Foundation and Rosalia de Castro House Museum. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: beautiful house, lovely friendly owners, comfortable bed, peaceful sleep, delicious breakfast and close to the camino! perfect!
Pros: traditional Spanish house. spotlessly clean fantastic hosts
Cons: We wrote regarding check-in time 4 months ago, telling them that our ETA was about 14 hours. We got to the place nobody present. It was raining and they had as waiting a full hour. I tried to help with the luggage and the owner in angry voice told that that was his duty. I didn’t answer, but his duty was to be present when customers arrive, to answer mails, to give proper indications regarding arrival time and to show flexibility when customers that have been 29 km in foot under the rain come, customers that are paying as much as for a good hotel in Santiago with permanent reception. Furthermore the WiFi doesn’t work in the room. Finally a small room is occupied by a big closet that you have no access to.
Pros: The house is beautiful with character. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. You can enjoy dinner at the house or at a near by nice restaurant. Same for breakfast.
Cons: The view from the room is a gas station. Room is very basic with no coffee machine or kettle.
Pros: Authentic atmosphere, wonderful hosts, beautiful room with an extra confusing bed
Pros: Great place and the meal was fantastic. Thank you very much
Pros: When we walked the Camino for 18 days in Portugal this was our favourite place we stayed. Our hosts went above and beyond making us comfortable and we’re so glad it was our last night before reaching Santiago. We had a beautiful dinner in their elegant dining room which we shared with 2 other Pilgrims. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer ending to our pilgrimage. Restaurant a few steps away is excellent for breakfast or any other meal also, and they open at 7am!
Pros: The host was very friendly. The room was clean and the facilities good. It is located, not far from the Camino route, a couple of kilometres past Padrón making the last day's walk to Santiago a bit shorter.

Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: A newly stone built hotel full of character with friendly staff and good food.
Cons: Somewhat difficult access for car travellers although the private garage was excellent. The hotel is on the pilgrim route and, therefore , can be very busy and noisy. The immediate surroundings are not that inspiring.
Pros: We booked a twin room and the booking went to the hotel as a double room. No help was given to us by the receptionist who seemed rather annoyed at our dismay.
Cons: The receptionist was very unhelpful however all other staff were brilliant. There were no bicycles available although advertised. The breakfast was very scant and no help was proffered to assist us in our choices.
Pros: Beautiful room, lovely grounds and pool. Great breakfast. It is a great place which is not being used to its optimum and maybe why there were only 3 other rooms occupied the night we were there.
Cons: The staff seemed to treat this as their own home and not a hotel which made us feel uncomfortable. Charging 3 euros for a beer that you can buy for 4.5 euros for 6 at the supermarket is seriously excessive and much more than anywhere else we encountered in Spain or Portugal. Both courses of food we ordered were also given at the same time which was bizarre.
Pros: Dinner was delicious. The place is gorgeous. Hosts picked us up from town, right on the Camino trail.
Cons: All great.
Pros: The staff. They were the best. Followed by the facilities, the room was well appointed and the decor excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful country home. They have lovely gardens and a pool. The dinner was delicious and well organized. Also had parking for our bicycles. What a treat during the camino.

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Good food for the value.
Cons: It was a little far from downtown and no markets close by. It was however very close to the Camino so easy off and on access.
Pros: Although this property is just off the Camino, it was a great find for us. The rooms were huge, very clean and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and tolerant of our lack of Spanish. The restaurant food was very tasty and obviously home cooked. It was worth the slight deviation.
Pros: The owner was very nice
Cons: Lots of men hanging around that started at us.
Pros: Simple, clean and comfortable room and the staff are amazing! we arrived in the pouring rain and were made very welcome. The beds are comfy and there are heaters and a bath! We had a lovely meal in the restaurant and very nice coffee. Less than 400m off the Camino, so it's a lovely place to pause before Santiago.
Pros: This simple but very good pension is easy to access from the Camino de Santiago Portugese Coastal route. Friendly welcome. Spacious, comfortable room with double bed and sofa. Very clean. The room was heated! Many along the way are not and remain damp and cold in October. Be sure to have dinner here- great meal!
Cons: If wifi is really important to you, the room connection is weak (but restaurant is good).

Pros: I like the big beds with curtain, light and electricity to charge. Very nice lokation and cosy café.
Cons: There was no kitchen to use. No microwave. No fridge. No opportunity to cook anything. Not even boiled water. I had no place to store my food. There was altså other things not avaulable even the description said these thing was supposed to be available. The owner is aware about the misleading information. I as well have send email to booking.com
Pros: Picturesque location on main square, right across from the church! Very friendly and helpful host, Santi, also runs the bar/ coffeecounter and makes great coffee and tostada in the morning! Comfortable bunks with individual plugs, lamps and privacy curtains, roomy bathroom/shower facilities, and the benefit of being able to have a refreshing drink after the long walk into town, as well as that first important coffee early in the morning righton site!
Cons: Initially we were a bit concerned about the main square location and potential noise issues. However, mostly pedestrian traffic and the lack of late night restaurants in the square made for a peaceful night - even with all windows open due to the warm temperatures!
Pros: This was an excellent hostel for Camino walkers. The facilities were very good and clean. Bunks were large with curtains and plug sockets. Towels were provided. The host took the time to show us around using Google translate (due to our embarrassing lack of Spanish) which was very kind. Breakfast was available from 6am which was perfect for the last day of the Camino.
Pros: Loved the location and our room. We had an excellent night's rest!
Cons: Climbing up so many stairs

Pros: Very modern functional hostel with good facilities on outskirts of town. Bunk beds in dormitories of 12 or 16. Staff helpful- requested lower bunks which had v good head space. Individual lights and plugs. No curtains on bunks. Lockers available. Probably better if boots kept in corridor rather in dormitory. Communal areas bright and spacious with Ikea furnishings although probably could be overcrowded if hostel busy. Surrounded by modern housing blocks but well lit area with a couple of bars and traditional local restaurant nearby.
Cons: Check-in terrible, nobody at reception at 6pm, didnt answer phone calls (6x), we wait 25min till somebody comes. No explanation, no apology. Staff doesnt speak english.
Pros: Right on camino walking path, modern, clean with very comfortable beds, that all you need when you on camino walking path. There is couple wending machines as you will need some snacks or something to drink. Check in was smooth as butter despite it was after opening hours, you just need to do that in next door restaurant.
Pros: The place is beautiful, u have a big living room and u can cook. And washing machine and drying are amazing! (u have to pay 3 + 3 euros but it is worth it). I would stay there again.
Pros: Very friendly receptionist Private and comfortable beds with great blankets Clean and cosy
Cons: They could use another washing machine and dryer. As there was a queue to use
Pros: Great location, nice kitchen suitable for cooking. Laudry and dryer were very welcomed. Nice common room with armchairs and couch. Comfy beds with charger and small lamp. Boxes with key for 1E.
Pros: Bunk rooms were nicely arranged to maximize privacy. Tons of space for everyone, very clean.
Cons: For some reason, it was very difficult to get from these particular ladders onto the top bunk. Sleep on the bottom, if you can.

Pros: The host of the property and the restaurant was very kind and informative. Showed us around; invited to pick fruit from the trees; and come to meals at anytime. Delicious food. Good place to cut the last day on their Camino in a half. Path very well marked, even in darkness.
Pros: Room was clean and spacious and well located for final walk into Santiago. Good value for money.
Cons: There was no hair drier or kettle.
Pros: Right on the Camino Portuguese. Check in at the bar a couple of doors down. The rooms were wonderful. private bath. clean comfortable
Pros: Hosts were amazing! Food was excellent and beds very comfy.
Located in Padron, Pension Rural Areal is within a 15-minute drive of Camilo Jose Cela Foundation and University of Santiago de Compostela.
Pros: Everything, the space, the localization, the staff, everything. It was the perfect place after a few crowed albergues. It’s maybe like 50m off the Camino, but it’s ok. You can eat diner or breakfast 5 min away from there. It was really perfect.
Pros: Peace and quiet after many Albergues on the camino. Great rural view from window. Rest at before santiago.
Cons: Common area downstairs not very appealing. Lacked furniture. Required you to go out and back in.
Pros: Claen comfortable quiet. Great after some terrible nights in Alburgued
Pros: A pleasant idyllic looking pension just off the camino
Cons: Very, very small room
Pros: Great location! Also, very calm and pretty, with a supermarket in a gas station 10min walking distance. Even though there's nobody to check you in, they're just 5min away from a phone call.
Pros: A beautiful location in a small village on the route to Santiago but still close to the restaurant and a little supermarket. It shortened our way to Santiago on the last day.
Pros: This is a sweet little 4 room guesthouse in the middle of vineyards in a very small picturesque village about 10 minutes walk from the main road and camino trail. You need to phone someone initially, to get in, but they are very quick to respond. The room is basic, but the beds are good, the bathroom is very good (large, clean, good hot water) and the room has a beautiful view over the valley and vineyards. Quiet and rural. There is a cluster of little restaurants down by the road and I had a tortilla at Novegil that was a work of art. A huge creamy wedge of potato, I have never had such a good one! This was a great last stop on the Portuguese camino if you don't want a long last day from Padron. Only about 12 km walking to Santiago, all on nice trails.

Pros: Very friendly personal. We were with a griuoe of friend we meet on a way on Camino and it was really rhe great stay. We were given a spare room where we could all spend time together kn a late hour Special thanks for these moments. Good kichen ant a shower with shampoo and shower gel. Thanks onec agais highly recomendable!
Pros: Staff was really great, facilities were good, too. It's not far off the Camino, and may be a good stop if you want to get to Santiago early (about 16km from there).
Cons: It had a bit of a vibe that didn't work for me that day - the salon they have is super cute and allowed me space for reading and quiet, but you can only go to their restaurant for food and the food wasn't great at all; plus they had Mexican music playing that I guess could create a nice party vibe for groups but was really not what I was looking for that day...
Pros: Nice people, nice beds, everything is clean, it was good!
Cons: Could be better for a private albergue. No privacy. Our beds faced the door and top bed get the light from the bathroom hallway during the whole of the night. Music from dining room gets amplified into sleeping area and is very disturbing. No options to choose from for pilgrims menu and breakfast. Only place in that area but saw some nice spots just a bit before and after
Cons: Cold is here, very expensive food in restaurant, shoes must be put to another building....
Pros: Dorm room with normal beds and clean bathroom. Library, place to chill, big yard with animals, big restaurant. Very kind and helpfull personal.
Cons: No kitchen, quite high prices in restaurant.
Pros: Great staff, clean property. Good food and great vibes.

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available on request), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Breakfast was ok with a good selection to choose from. The hotel has a bar. The room was comfortable and clean.
Cons: This hotel has seen better days - it's a huge complex catering for busloads. As a small group, we felt a bit lost. Ideal for guests just passing through as there isn't much else in the vicinity. We were walking the Camino so were glad to get a headstart out of Padrón in the morning. The pool wasn't open (mid-October) which was disappointing.
Pros: The locate is right on the Portuguese Camino.
Cons: Very shabby, dated hotel with very basic comfort level charging high prices for what you receive both in accommodations and the breakfast buffet. I do not recommend staying here—if you’re on the Camino walk on a bit.
Pros: Great breakfast. Incredible value for money
Pros: Good locationthis is a multi purpose hotel. It still gave very good service
Cons: I did not stay long enough to enjoy the whole hotel
Pros: Lovely clean hotel. Friendly staff and great bar food.
Cons: After walking Camino, it would have been nice to have bags delivered to room.
Pros: Clean large rooms, smooth check in, friendly staff. Beautiful swimmingpool. Restaurant in the hotel is okay, basic, but lively because of the many guests who are eating there.
Cons: Look and feel of an old Russian building. Terrace behind the parkinglot of the tourbusses.
Pros: Room was large and clean. Breakfast included. Located on Camino.
Cons: Parking lot was busy and dangerous for pilgrims walking. Hotel is outdated and rooms are bare. The big sign on the breakfast area door sums it up, “it is forbidden to take food from the room”!
Pros: Location! Pretty good breakfast included.
Cons: A little dated rooms- the carpet, the sheets, the bathroom.
With a stay at Hotel Rosalia in Padron, you'll be steps from Rosalia de Castro House Museum and a 2-minute drive from Camilo Jose Cela Foundation. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Opposite to the train station, perfect for taking the train to Santiago. If needed
Pros: Bathroom was clean and spacious.
Cons: The beds in our room were old, i could feel the springs in my mattress... they really should remove the carpeting in the room, as it seems old and not the easiest to keep clean. For the price, it’s not a good value unless you have a very early train to catch.
Pros: If you are doing the Camino is closer to the beginning of the next step to Santiago.
Cons: Beds are not confortable, no air conditioning and if you want fresh air you have to deal with a lot of noise from the train station right in from of the hotel..
Pros: Friendly staff, good restaurant next door
Cons: Far off the Camino way
Pros: It was clean , staff was polite and helpful. If on the Camino- it it easy to get back on the trail. They serve a wonderful breakfast.
Cons: Is is a 10 minute walk to town. If you are a tired hiker, it may be too much.
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: All good
Pros: It was clean
Cons: A bit far away from the old town

Pros: The location is great if you are making the camino de Compostela
Cons: The place was very cold. Not a single heater in sight. there was only a light blanket to cover ourselves up. therefore, we spent a very cold and bad night. The staff was nice on the checkin time, then, they were no where around.
Pros: The room was fine for the price good for people on the Camino.
Cons: The restaurant connected to the hostel wouldn’t accept credit card, which was disappointing so we didn’t return for dinner.

Cons: Very poky bathroom, horrible bedding and pillows
Pros: It was right on the Camino. There was a restaurant attached which was really good. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly. It was over several floors so quite quiet at night.
Cons: The wifi stopped working. The room was a bit scruffy.
Pros: The location was good and bars and restaurants were close buy. There is one bar which belongs to the Albergue.
Cons: The check out was too early 9am. There was no functioning hair dryer for the whole hotel and the kitchen wasn’t very well equipped and you had to go to the bar to ask for missing tools.
Pros: Good value
Cons: Not much to do in this area
Pros: It was on the Camino Portuguese and not a lot of options in this area
Cons: No WiFi working Bed was uncomfortable TV not working Room not heated Hand held shower only Reading light on only one side of the bed

Cons: Stairs and no help with luggage No food until 8 pm No other options available for food
Pros: It was clean. Right on the Camino path
Cons: Location for pilgrims is a drawback it is only 9.5 kms out of pardon meaning a much longer hike into Santiago. Food at restaurant was so so not close to the quality we experienced since we started our trip in Porto
Cons: Dirty shower curtains, dirty floors and rugs, musty smell of bedding, drinks and food expensive, understaffed had to looking for receptionist didn’t respond to telephone calls.
Pros: The location was ideal for walking the Camino. The resto attached was nice. Good staff.
Cons: No wifi in room. We mentioned it many times to staff , with no resolution. Had to use our data. Room was not cleaned properly. Used soap on the sink, garbage in the bathroom waste. Hairs on the beds. Workers stay there and get up even earlier than our 5am wake up. Very noisy.
Pros: Very good location, everything is clean and comfy.
Pros: Helpful staff and good beds. Also laundry.
Cons: No grocery stores or other food options around.
