cost no toiletries
The free wifi is excellent.
Very cheap. Breakfast was fine, and the price was right. toilet seat was not actually attached.
People where gentle They did not had soap in the rooms. Typical Hotel to stay one night for business and nothing else
Stayed on 2 seperate occasions, as a layover in traveling between Calais and Zurich, Switzerland - The hotel is ok, Clean, tidy, and Free WiFi. Bathroom is a good size and to cramped. Nothing really wrong, only a few minor defects.
Cleanliness and good parking facilities
Friendliness of staff. A good basic hotel
Location: Access to Autoroute, Shops, Buffalo Grill (acceptable quality) and reasonable distance from Ferry Ports. I have recommend the hotel to friends, who have stayed there. Hard bed, soap dispensers, lack of bar/restaurant.
Stayed at this budget hotel for one night whilst visitng the world war one somme battlefields. We paid Eur 50 for 1 adult and 3 kids. Pretty convenient. Highlight was a meal at buffalo bills restaurant (grill) next door, reception has discount vouchers. Free wireless internet. Would recommend but maybe worth going for a more expensive option.
friendly, helpful staff, location in town and price. only one bedside table and no mirror in the bedroom.
Friendly staff, room ok
The staff were very friendly and helpfull Its a convenient stop over that can accomodate families travelling.
undergoing renovation, but no the worse for that. Interesting breakfast patrons(!) no lift to 2nd floor
comfy beds, pleasant room, friendly but unobtrusive staff, good town centre location. a .chest of drawers would have been nice
Excellent central location, helpful, friendly staff and excellent accomodation for the price with secure parking
The rooms were adequate and clean. Also there was a small hote car park which was secure at night. No
Hotel very convenient, staff very friendly and efficient, clean and good value for money. We've stayed at the hotel previously and always have to ask for an extra towel as although it's a double room only one hand towel and one bath towel is provided. There's also only one bedside table in each room and even though we've stayed in the most expensive room the hotel has to offer this is the case throughout the hotel.
Newly refurbished rooms - better standard of accommodation than more expensive hotels I've stayed at. Friendly & helpful staff.
Excellent room very poor breakfast
Stayed at the Grand before and appreciate the service of the staff and cleanliness of the rooms Only breakfast served, perhaps in the future a wider choice of lunch and evening meal servie might be offered
A large room with large bathroom, good bed, and very quiet. Off-road car park (dedicated for hotel, but not secure) just across the road. No view from window, expensive breakfast, not the best location (an uphill walk to the town centre).
Good basic hotel in good position in delightful town
very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room.
Very friendly and helpful staff with an adequate command of the English. As shown under question 2, a very comfortable and clean room. Lack of an in house restaurant. Hotel situated in a somewhat run down area. If hotel full, car parking would be a problem.
friendly, helpful staff on all shifts, hotel was as i saw on net, very quiet very spacuios room, nice location.
The bathroom was excellent. Apart from that just a convenient stopover on the way to Calais Duvets and cushions seemed to be made of rubber and not comfortable. Breakfast very basic and not worth Eur9.00.
excellent friendly staff, very helpful second morning of a two night stay there were no eggs at breakfast, not good !
The bedroom was a very good size. Two things really - the bedroom smelled (of a smoking den basically)when we first got there and remained thougout. There were two beautiful windows in the bedroom which were unfortunately facing the back alley of the hotel and directly looked upon some horrible unused buildings
Hotel is in good position in relation to town restaurants & bars Stayed in the annexe.Horrible room dark dingy badly decorated.Would never stay here again.
The hotel staff was very accommodating as we arrived at 12.30 am. The room was clean and comfortable and we had a good night's (what was left of it) rest.
We did a Battlefields Tour and our guide picked us up from the hotel. The hotel itself had a good breakfast buffet and it was very modern. It was handy to the city square and several good restaurants. The hotel was very stuffy ( overheated ) and our room was right above a busy bus terminus. Also the street was very noisy at night.
The staff Dated, worn look and feel.
Excellent position for town square. Really clean and great room overlooking the basilica. Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff. Very good value for money. Parking in front in main square and therefore not private
Good variety & quality of items available for breakfast. Good to have a wide double bed. 2 pillows would have been better than one.
We were impressed with the position, the staff and the room. The view over the Basilica was magnificent and the short walk to a beautiful square and impressive buildings and cafes/restaurants a pleasant surprise. Not really. The lack of private parking was slightly disappointing but public parking was very close to the hotel. We had no problems with the security of the car overnight.
Rooms very small. Staff disinterested. But ok for a one night stay whilst on the move.
Easy to find, just off the Autoroute, great value, decent Restaurant, perfect for overnight stop
No air conditioning. No bar unless you have a meal.
Convenient for autoroutes, shops and restaurants/cafes nearby. Reasonable price The bedding stank of smoke, as did the whole room. The towels, although they looked clean, smelt of stale food and cooking fat. It appeared that the laundry room was next to the kitchen
convenient location (if you come by car), rooms are clean and quiet.
the beds they were comftable mould in the bathroom room very cold
Not a lot, juat an overnight stop. There was no food availabe at 9pm and I was advised to go to the restaurant nearby as they had closed early in the hotel.
Tea, coffee, biscuits available in room. Reception open till late in the day. Cheaper hotels in the area have more to offer e.g. air conditioning unit.
Longer hours for breakfast during the week.
Friendly staff. Easy to get to. Clean and efficient. Last stayed at a Campanile outside Paris years ago, which seemed a lot better - room was much bigger and the restaurant was in the same building. This one had access to rooms from an outside walkway like an American Motel. Obviously this is better for fire safety, but it made the place seem cheaper.
None, except easy access to a26 autoroute. Furniture in room (Room No. 5)Is in poor condition. Light switch for bathroom actually inside bathroom below mirror. Extractor fan not working. Restaurant staff uncooperative and inefficient. Very poor tea & coffee-making facilities compared with other hotels. Cheap cups. Hotel in poor location. Unable to walk safely into town centre as there are no pavements.
Location of the hotel easy to find good staff and excellent food.We enjoyed our short stay
Hotel easy to find - close to motorway, but not noisy. My room was at the back and overlooked fields. The room was initially cold, but the staff soon sorted out the heater. Room recently re-decorated, so very clean. Could park next to room, motel style - quiet and safe. Own restaurant with reasonable range of meals.
It was very acceptable as an en-route overnight stay and close enough to the Somme and Calais. The staff were efficient but not very friendly.
location was quiet and had great access to motorway. Restaurant on premisis was an advantage. The staff were very welcoming and helpfull. It was late, but they were very accomodating, the restaurant too gave excellent service. Arrived in November and we were upgraded to a warm and newly decorated suite room, because we rejected the first room given which was a twin bedroom that was cold and tired looking. The difference in the two rooms was so enormous. Be sure to ask for a newly decorated and upgraded room. We would not have been able to give a good review if we'd had stayed in the first room.
The check in process was easy, the breakfast was good. The room was very basic. The shower was not working properly. The bedding was barely adequate. The evening meal was poor and service very slow.
Friendly and helpful staff, very good food. location just off autoroute Ideal as a stopover hotel We had the disability room in which the disability aids were minimal. very narrow and uneven paths across grass to room from car park and tiled walkways were extremely slippery when wet.Would not recommend for people with walking difficulties.
Gourmet Menu dinner excellent, well served by friendly staff. Good value. Lack of tea/ coffee in rooms. Thin pillows (and no spares). Continental breakfast expensive with limited menu. Would have liked to have been offered extra coffee. Location of hotel is not in village as post code, but on main RN. We had difficulty finding it.
Good restaurant, nice staff. Placed near autoroute. Clean rooms. The directions on the internet were not correct
The dinner was good and service in dining room friendly and efficient. Good location near motorway for anyone travelling between Calais and south of France Quiet at night. The bedroom was very chilly and it was impossible to switch on the heaters.
Friendly staff, helpful new proprietor with good English, good restaurant with tasty local food, served efficiently and quickly. conveniently close to A26 main toll road going east towards Metz, Strasbourg. Situated close to quiet village. Thin walls on motel style rooms at back - I could hear the guest next door talking on the phone even though he wasn't speaking loudly. Rooms in need to redecoration.
Great location, helpful staff Hotel is a bit tired. Bathroom, not shower.
Good service. breakfast & dinner. Comfortable room. No problems.
convenient location.staff friendly.parking convenient.cleanliness of room food -.recommend to eat out. no shower curtain.room rather dingy although refurbished.dining room shabby and dusty
Very central location and cleanliness no shower curtain, no towels in the room on arrival, very 70's feel despite the recent renovation,
Very close to the main square, for local food and drinks. The museum is 30 feet away. You can buy private parking for 5 Euro, but the parking is free on the street.
Perfectly situated in the heart of Peronne, Hotel Saint Claude provides both comfortable value for money accomodation with excellant staff.
Location only The hotel was practically empty and restaurant was closed
The friendly helpful welcome the shower was very complicated. I am 78 kgs only 1m65 tall almost impossible to sit o0n the toilet - room 208
Friendly staff & convenient location. We were told within 30 mins of booking in that it was not possible to eat at Hotel as restaurant was full. Told the following day thah it was a mistake ! Also info. on your web site says 2 restaurants - a bit misleading as far as we were concerned. Others in our party in another double room had cause to complain about functioning of shower taps, unclean pillows, lack of towels (only one small and one shower size for 2 people.
Convenient location for a visit to the WW1 battlefields. Difficult to find. There is no given address that can be pinpointed with a GPS. It was only after we passed the hotel and turned off the autoroute some 10 km further on and found our way back on country roads, that we discovered that the hotel is part of a rest stop on the autoroute.
In room 207, the heating did not work. They gave us room 210, and the shower head is leaking, and does not stay up.
This was our 4th stay, and as always the staff were polite. Plus the ease off the A-1.
A perfect motorway stop-over for someone journeying from England to almost anywhere in France. (I left work at 4.00pm, caught the 6.30 Eurotunnel and was eating my - imited, but perfectly acceptable - French dinner at 9.40pm (their time). Ready to go, refreshed, the following morning. Breakfast over-priced at 13 Euros.
Location of Hotel beside a motorway
Bed was like a rock!
Location, room facilities, decor Not enough pillows per room. No kettle/ drinks making facilities in rooms
Good sized room. Friendly and helpful staff. Well placed on the Autoroute. Pillows - too hot. Air conditioning not sure if it was available (old climate controls). Needed to cool the room a little, but it was a hot day. Don't like paying for Wi-Fi generally, think it should be free/included in hotels, so probably hesitate recommending to business colleagues.
The food was good and the parking secure My room smelt of smoke and there was no proper bar area. Its looking a bit tired.
Easy stop after arriving Paris and heading north, but is on other side of expressway. A bit noisy as close to expressway but convenient
Reasonable location, and had a window. Coffe was the best tasted. Another matchbox, My wife cut her leg badly on corner of bed trying to Squese past. No soap had to buy some. Shower head broren off holder, had to hold it above head to shower. Again as hotel before requested twin room, but had to put up with double. Reason being my husband snores, I got very little sleep
Room was very small and en-suite was tiny.
Rooms seemed dark
Quiet, as long as nobody opening or closing doors nearby, comfortable beds. Noisy doors, overall tired appearance. In need of re-decorating and tidying up.
there is nothing to like about this hotel it was not agood experience for any of us there were fourty people stopping at the hotel and only two breakfast cerial bowls, when i pointed this out to the receptionist he just shrugged his shoulders.the rooms were the shabbiest most dirty i have ever stayed in, the bathroom was appalling, there were six of us in our group and all the rooms were the same.
Value for money
location near motorway and proximity to a restaurant impossible to take a shower without the shower room floor getting drenched
Although this place was cheap, the room was the worst we ever stayed in. We will never stay in any Balladin Hotels. The reception was not open when we arrived. We thought all the facilities were very bad
The Price The bathroom, not tea maker
Very nice furnishings, free parking, good location, quiet. Restaurant very expensive, no lifts to handle luggage to room
Excellent dinner menu. Noise from main road. Very small bathroom.
The peace and quiet of the hotel in general and the comfortable dining room and bar area
Excellent Hotel for touring the Battlefields. Easy parking and good attention by staff Whilst Hotel room was good value, meals and drinks were expensive and put the bill up rather. Nothing nearby as an altrnative Dining venue.
very nice hotel, staff very nice & food outstanding
The meal was the highlight, fine dining, good service The room was a little small and stuffy, we opened the window, but the traffic noise meant we eventually had to shut it
The staff were generally friendly. Bar was pleasant and open for children to play billiards. The room for 4 was a triple room with one bed a sofa that had been made up as a bed. A matress on the floor. We didnt eat, but the food looked very good, but too expensive for me and the children
arrived later than announced, but still got access rooms were located at the back, not possible to leave windows open due to noisy ventilation system at the outside of building
Needs to be cleaner, workman on flat roof outside window, very disconcerting as he was on the same level as us, no privacy.
Excellent food and service. The first room we were allocated overlooked the noisy kitchen air conditioning unit and the factory next door. However we requested a change a were given a very pleasant room at the front of the hotel.
close to shops and food, modern decoration, helpful staff
Nice simple, clean hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff. Secure car parking with easy access to local shops.
The manager was absolutely fantastic. He was really friendly, enquiring about our holiday and where we were heading to and then offered lots of suggestions of things to do locally and on our route. He seemed to be running the place single-handedly - the reception, breakfast etc. For a budget hotel on the edge of the Centre Commercial, Balladins was excellent. The place was spotless and quiet. Would definitely stay there again as a budget stop-over.
Although this is a 'budget' hotel - the standards are very low. I didn't like a anything during my stay. The room was less than basic and the breakfast is not worth the money.
Convience and location, Convience and location,Convience aConvience and location,nd location,Convience and location,
Conveniently positioned for all routes. Very clean and welcoming. No toilet seat in room toilet. Continental breakfast was basic with not much variety .
value for money with bunk bed for children.reasonable cleanliness . on par with other budget hotels. a/c was not working but climate was ok. staff were friendly and helpful.
Cheap, easy to find, en-route to Swiss Alps Felt like staying in a prison cell, not that I have stayed in one.
cheap very basic, smoky smelling room
The location is quite reasonable; only about 5 mins by car from the town centre. Although we requested a non-smoking room, the room smelled very strongly of smoke and the blanket had cigarette burns on it. One of the beds was not clean, having several hairs on it, and some of the sheets had stains. The rooms were very dimly lit which made reading difficult and gave it a dingy feel.
Close to motorway, clean and efficient A bit noisy, stark
the location dated, dirty, uncomfortable
Ideal for a one night stop over. Good restaraunt Buffalo Grill within 5minutes walk. As most hotels of this type it was on an industrial estate. Booking in times a little late.
room did smell of tobacco
