Proximity to the sights
we stayed in the navona sutie and it was terrific. we celebrated my wife's birthday and they supplied us with cake, champagne, fruits and gifts. the shower was not great and could use instructions as it had many features.
All staff were very kind The gym was not confortable, very cool and not any matress at the floor for exercices, not sauna ??
Very nice hotel that managed to avoid the many modernisation gags that have destroyed the atmosphere in so many formerly great hotels - without feeling dusty, at all. Yes, the corridors and the lift could do with a new coat of paint, but who cares. My room was spacious and lovely, with a private terrace overlooking the rooftops; perfect for having breakfast while catching the first rays of the sun. It's a small hotel. Take the Danieli in the sixties, cut it up and let a small piece of it overgrow with vines in the middle of Rome: voilà, the Raphael. Staff exceptionally nice and well-trained. Location unbeatable.
fantastic location, ambience and service
The staff were very efficient and pleasant. Very good location for siteseeing and shopping in the heart of Rome. Very good restaurant with quick efficient service.
evry thing is excellent staff is excellent the hotel is away from metro you should use taxi but no broblem as the hotel is central the taxi will not cost a lot no room service after 11 pm
Excellent central location just off Piazza Navona. Nice rooms, well decorated. Staff friendly. Bedroom was too hot at night - air conditioning had been turned off.
Luxurious; great location and views from roof terrace Reception staff OK but not overly helpful, waiters / waitresses very helpful; expected food, drink etc. to be expensive but was actually exhorbitant
Location Small room.
location, view, comfort, services speed of in room house keyboard internet very slow
Location, Roof Terrace Room was poor, not refurbished, Bidet did not work (water pressure low), dark, looking to the inner side. We booked a room directly at Hotel Minerva in December 2009 and got a much better, larger room for the same price. Obviously booking.com is getting the low-cost left-overs.
location Altough it has been mainteined good, the building is very old.
- The location. - The services. Nothing
The location was why we chose this hotel. We were a twenty minute hoof to St. Peter's one way, and five minutes to the Coliseum the other way. It was a great home base from which to explore the eternal city. We were also surprised when they upgraded our room at check in. Room size was outstanding for an older hotel. We've stayed in many dozens of old hotels throughout Europe, so we are not surprised when some parts of the experience are a little ragged. It had been unusually warm. I figured the building's environmental systems had been switched over to heat for the winter, so our room was uncomfortably warm. After a shower, the tub took a long time to drain fully. The minibar was restocked before our second night. Even though we took nothing from it, we were charged for items used by previous guests. Lastly, we did not get turn-down service on our last night. But these kinds of missed details are typical for Europe, and did not bother us.
location, staff they cleaned our room just when we put "please make up our room" note; no russian TV channesl
The hotel was what I expected, and suited all my requirements The terrace restaurant and bar on the roof of the hotel is a huge disappointmnet. As a woman travelling alone I was made to feel distinctly unwelcome. Moreover, the food was not what one would expect at the price.
Excellent location - so close to thre Pantheon and walking distance from main sights.
Service was superb. Classic elegance and at the same time, very convenient. Access from the main Piazza and to the marina.
The roof restaraunt and bar were great. The room was small and the bed matress was very hard and uncomfortable. The rooms were too modern--when you go to Europe you want to stay where the rooms are old fashion and full of past times.
Modern, very high standards of service, excellent location but crazy expensive at €290 per night and a mind blowing €50 for room service of tea and croissants in bed! The prices
Located in a very interesting area.staff very helpful and professional.room very well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was too predictable
location almost perfect, friendliness of the staff, food is excellent, excellent renovated hotel. we will be back in rome just to stay in the hotel!! the only remark was some traffic in the street in the front of the hotwel, when the city was waking up.
The staff could not have been more helpful. Everything we asked for was delivered with speed and a friendly, helpful attitude It would have been nice to have had a few more English channels on the TV without having to pay extra for them
Great staff, clean rooms Would love a bigger room
From rooftop terrace to being able to step onto Via Giulia and walk to everything, this hotel is a fabulous mix of location and comfort. The subterranean spa, which is complimentary for guests, is okay but a little more rustic than we were imagining.
The service is top notch. Everyone is so friendly. They are always checking in to see how everything is going. Breakfast is really good too. The room could be a little bigger and so can the bathroom.
Great location. Gtreat A/C Small rooms. Minimum spa. No pool. Limited parking.
Although we did not use the staff very often when we did they appeared helpful and attentive. none
Good location, modern and clean. Good rooftop bar and nice to have a spa although we didn't use it Room was small however apparently this is normal for Rome
It 'location Hugely over priced.
Perfect location. Room was very comfortable, clean, modern, overall extremely pleased with my choice. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooftop bar and restaurant was a fabulous way to end the day and see sunsets. Will definitely stay at this property next time in Rome.
Staff was extremely helpful in our one fast day in Rome. The location is walking distance to most of the attractions we wanted to see. Breakfast was quite nice. Food staff was excellent also. Nothing.
Staff pleasant and helpful. The hotel is quite central in main attractions although the road is very busy
The hotel is very central. 300m to Phanteon, 250m to P.Navona. We had a Quadruple room, which was about 30m2! Very nice staff! Sorry, but this is not a 4 star hotel. The beds was so hard that the last night (out of 4) I almost could not sleep at all. The cleanliness could have been better. Dust in the closets, ++ and the shower was not very clean ether. The toilet was noisy and leaking (they tried to fix it), the safety box was not in order (they tried to fix it twice). In our room the windows was not possible to close properly, and there was no view (2/3 floor). Some traffic noise. Breakfast was very simple, but good. The man in the reception (at night) did not speak english (the others was very helpful at all time).
Very good location
Very central placed
Centrally located across street from Trambus double decker sightseeing bus stop and steps away from Piazza Navona. They had many choices of food at generous Continental Breakfast. Quiet hotel, nice double shower. The Cable nor the TV worked, everything else was nice.
The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, our room (409) was well decorated and spotless and had a charming balcony overlooking the rooftops of Rome. The hotel is very conveniently located for all places of interest which are within walking distance ranging from 10 to 20 mins. There is a restaurant within 5 mins walking distance which is extremely good value and has excellent menu and service. Our double bed was actually two beds pushed together. The breakfast was very basic continental.
The location was great. The staff was very nice and helpfull. The room was big and comftable. Breakfast was nice. We got the WiFi connection for free. The blankets were dirty. There is no heat until November.
Staff were very friendly and effective in helping avoid tourist traps. Most were very friendly.
The staff were always helpful and so very nice to the children. no
Location Graffiti and beer bottle drinkers outside nightly
Overall very good exprience. However we did feal that some of the staff could improve their attitude towards customers Customer Service.
Loved the courtyard which was peaceful in middle of big city. Hotel was quiet - unusual for Rome. Great location, near stacks of excellent restaurants - Pierluigi was the best ! Relative to other cities, Rome, and this hotel over are way priced.
Great location, nice big bathrooms, spacious rooms in general. Nice comfortable accommodation, walking distance to everything (including nightlife and many major attractions). Bellhops were very nice, but some of the desk staff was slightly unfriendly and unhelpful. Restaurant staff asked us to leave table (in beautiful garden) after finishing coffee to make room for other guests but there were many other tables. Guest service not the hotel's strongest area in my brief experience.
Location Comfort ok, beds a bit too firm. Reception staff were cordial and helpful. Bar staff were going to overcharge for beverage until I pointed out the correct price in menu. Don't know if intentional or not, but you would think they know the correct pricing as advertised in their menu. Our room was on third level on the side where the hotel entrance is located. This area can be noisy at night, especially on weekends when people are walking on the street and street musicians (which hung out a few doors down from the hotel) are playing. The rooftop terrace is nice but the views are limited and there were many yellow jackets/hornets around the evening appetizers at the bar.
Staff where very friendly and cheerful, the court yard was beautiful and the location fantastic.
the hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful
Very good location Its a little pricey
Great location, beautiful hotel, rooms are very large and comfortable; staff is friendly - we loved this hotel !!!!
Beautiful hotel in perfect location, many fine amenities. A contemporary haven in old Rome.
We had a 5th floor room with an outlook over surrounding streets and river. We were able to check in a little early and checkout a little late with no problems. Staff were helpful and efficient.
A well priced hotel in a great central location. I took my parents who have mobility problems and the area is flat and easy to walk around.
Excellent location in quiet knook but only 2 blocks to Campo Di Fiori and all the action. We requested and received a room overlooking the beautiful gardens of the French Embassy. Hotel is in very quiet area adjacent to Piazza Farnese and is within easy walking distance of all the major areas - Campo, Pizza Navonna, Pantheon, Trevi, etc. Loads of resturants, cafe's, shops, bars in the vicinity. Very clean room much larger than most European hotels typically are. Very nice size bath and shower. Very comfortable room and in a great location. The hotel staff replied to e-mail requests prior to our trip for room confirmation and arrangements for transportation from airport literally within the hour our requests were sent. Nothing we did not like.
Very good location, but facilities are a bit old. The toilet did not flush.
The room was very comfortable. The location was in a nice quiet location yet close to many of the city attractions, and the breakfast was superb. A real little gem.
Everything was fantastic! The room was exceptionally (and promptly) cleaned each day; the breakfast buffet was outstanding; the desk personnel were friendly and extremely helpful; and, the hotel environment was extremely pleasant! I have no complaints whatsoever, and when in Rome, I will stay there again, and will recommend my friends do as well. I did notice several us people on the website complain generally about small hotel rooms in Rome. I suspect these folks do not get around Europe much! Real estate is incredibly pricy and space does not come cheap! Us travelers need to be prepared to spend $130 usd or more a night for a room that will be much smaller than the typical us economy hotel room. that is the norm in rome! Stop complaining! Focus on the beauty of the setting and hotel, the convenience of location, and the experience of being in a world class city!
Good atmosphere, nice staff, comfortable and interesting location away from the city centre business district. The hotel only provides a buffet breakfast. The bar is not open. There are plenty of excellent bars and a full range of resturants nearby.
Great location, lovely & helpful staff, comfortable rooms, nice communal areas, wonderful breakfast. The bed was a little hard for my taste.
excellent location, good staff, good breakfast small rooms
Location great, very central. Room decor very dated, musty smell in room (couldn't open windows). Tv took about 5 seconds to change channel - not great when you are flicking looking for english language!
This hotel is well situated on the P. Rotonda, in front of the ancient Pantheon in center of Rome. It is an old hotel and has annexes nearby with apartments. Our stay at the annex apartment was good, but the level of comfort was not that as in the actual hotel... and the furnishings are dated and stale. Our apartment was three star at the very best. The apartment annexes are old and stale and need a fresh up on furnishings... they are not at the same standard as the four star hotel itself, and I have stayed far nicer three star hotels in Rome.
The location. The hotel in next to the best square in Rome. There are many different musicians that frequent the area and you can meet people from all over world. The party goes on into the early morning. No
Excellent location in historic square. Very comfortable rooms with fabulous views of the Pantheon.
Excellent location and friendly--helpful staff. Hotel was everything we were looking for on vacation and even better.
When we eventually got the room we had requested and paid for in advance we were quite pleased with it. Breakfast was extremly poor, breakfasting room was tiny and the hotel had no recognisable lounge area.On our first night our reserved and paid suite was given to another party. The rooms to the front are noisey with frequent and numerous musicians during the day.Bottles are collected noisily from all the cafes in the square at 0800.A truck washes the streets at 0200 am. If you have an internal room and it rains then you are kept awake all night by the sound of rain falling on the canvas of the external breakfasting room. The internal cooridoors are hot. Some front desk staff barely have the courtesy to greet you as a guest.
The situation across from the Pantheon was the reason for our choice of Hotel Sole al Pantheon. The Piazza della Rotonda is a beautiful view from the second floor where we stayed. Too few tables in the otherwise beautiful breakfast room.
The Staff were very accomodating, spoke excellent English and were very very pleasant!!. It was what it says on the box - a 4* hotel - not a 3* posing as a 4*!!! The air conditioning units for the whole hotel were right on top of our room, and caused the walls and doors to vibrate! The hotel stafff were really good about this and agreed to turn it off between 23:00 and 08:00 in the morning so as not to disturb our sleep! I'm sure we never would have had another hotel offer to do this! Great Breakfast (although I would suggest not watering down the orange juice). Fantastic location - central to everything! All in all a well run hotel, and a very pleasurable stay! No - it was just right!
location, view noise due to loaction
the good approach of the staff our room was too much nosy
Excellent location and great staff, right on the piazza across from the Pantheon. Room size was good and bathroom was as well. Staff was very attentive. View was awesome. Bed was very firm. Breakfast was poor.
got upgraded - room very nice beds very hard but after a day of sighseeing i could have slept on the floor and not noticed.
Great location!! Rooms were good size. Our family of 5 ( 2 teenagers and one small child) had a classic double and a deluxe triple interconnecting rooms...worked out well..staff was friendly and again very central, liked that it was a little away from the busy people and traffic areas. Would be great if they could update the furnishings a little.
Location was excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was more than adequate. Room was clean and comfortable.
The location of the hotel was good for sight-seeing and was quiet and peaceful.
All in all excellent. The first hotel in Italy with the most friendly staff we've ever experienced. The breakfast is verry good as well compared to other hotels. I praise the staff of this Hotel. Great Job and well done. All in all excellent
friendly staff; location; cleanliness last 1,5 days we did not get bathroom amenities/towels changed/refurbished (out of 3 nights stay) - for the price (even special offer) of it this should have not happen
The location to all the great areas of Rome was it's best feature; however, I did love our room and the views from the two large windows out into the neighborhood. A really good experience.
the restaurant was very good the staff approachable and friendly also the bathroom and room very comfortable non applicable
Location and room excellent. Majority of the staff attentive and helpfull Would appreciate english papers and more international food menu
The location is fantastic. 5 minuts walk from piazza navoni, Trevi fountain, via condotti. Hotel is very nice, with big old style rooms, each one different from the other. You have to wait too much for the lift
Location. Within walking distance of most sites Dated looking rooms
I got a better impression of the hotel from the website than what I was initially faced with. Hotel staff spoiled me though and showed me to a better room. Lovely staff, great location, small fairly comfortable room.
The staff was really helpful and kind. The breakfest was very good. We were three couples that had three different rooms. Our room was in the new part of the hotel, it was big and very nice. The location was perfect.
Location near torist centres for walking. Most things were good
dinning room is lovely
I enjoyed the deluxe room with a terrace and the central location of this hotel I think the services and the break fast could be improved
Great location, walking distance to majority of tourist attractions & shopping areas, nice lobby Small room, unpleasant smell from the bathroom. And I still have no idea if the elevator works ;)
Very nice, clean, good air conditionning. Good value for money.
I stayed @ the hotel with my husband & my 19 years old son& 10 years old daughter. The lobby&sitting area is v.stylish &safe for the kids. They liked the net facility in a quiet romantic area. The staff was nice. The rooms are clean .I was searching for a relaxing place & close to the action &the sites & i found it .Quiet &clean.I wished the rooms whre bigger & had more servises. But i liked it & i will do it again .It should be ranged as 4 stars. They should specify on the net the difference between each room in the same level because they are mixing all together.I checked a lot with the hotel to have what i want or what i saw in the web.
The location of this hotel s perfect for anyone wanting to discover Rome by foot. Close to the Pantheon, it's quiet location on a cobbled street means it is discreetly tucked away in the heart of the city.
location staff helpfulness free computer accessability breakfast staff were very courteous and pleasant always there to assist us would definately stay there again
Did not understand the concept of the "open closet" in a double room
The staff was excellent, the room was always clean and the smell was always fresh, the breakfast was delicious it's on one of the best locations, close to everything you want to see in Rome. We were traveling with my two year old and a 4 year old, the staff always helped us making sure our room always had what we needed to make our stay the must comfortable as possible. We staid for 9 days and we had the best experience.
Great Location; Great Ambiance, Great Rooms Overpriced Daily rate for young children 3 and younger
The location was really convenient for me – centrally located and a convenient walk to most of the attractions (even the Vatican or Colosseum are only about a 20 minute walk away) The included breakfast was decent and couldn't have been served in a better location than the rooftop garden with a good view of the city in most directions. The WiFi is an extra charge unless you book directly on their website and it was so slow and unreliable that it's not worth paying for. They had the classic signs of a hotel skimping on a professional installation: many different network names and while many of them reported excellent signal strength, the access points would usually reject connection attempts; after retrying enough times to connect the best speed I saw was about as fast as a 2G cellular connection and you'd be logged out a couple of times an hour. Until they hire a professional to fix their network, skip the frustration and go out and enjoy the city instead. Any cafe, bar, restaurant, etc. advertising free WiFi will give you something tasty for your money along with better service.
Location, location, location. Good stuff. Spectacular breakfast bar on the roof with a view of all Rome. Clean, nice. Interntet was not working. It was connecting, but not working. Spent fortune on international data before realized.
Great rooftop views of Rome
